I found Bay Area Window Dressing via Yelp and was so happy to meet Aleksandra at our new home and use her expertise. After I purchased my windows from Window Station Inc, the employees suggested that I purchase blinds for my windows from here, and once again, I don't regret my decision. After I called them, similar to Window Station Inc's service, a salesperson came to my house with a blinds "sample", and she helped me pick out the perfect blinds that fit my windows and the overall look of my condominium. She (Alexandra) also helped me find blinds that could block out light entirely (since I take a lot of naps, and I don't want light to blind my kids in the morning). After I purchased them, they were installed in only about 2 weeks, which wasn't too bad of a wait for blinds. I finally decided to go with Bay Area Window Dressing for their timely quotes, responses, followups and competitive quotes. David is very professional and provided great advice in helping me choose the right color and right product for my windows. He only measured the sizes of my windows once and had all blinds/shades installed successfully without leaving any mess in the rooms. In comparison, some other HD resellers would do the initial window size measurements and then will perform the final measurements after you decide to go with their quote, which is a bit inconvenient for me. We had shades put in that were double shades. To be fair we were warned there would be a gap between the two but I had no idea they would look so ugly, there was a HUGE gap, hardware was huge/exposed, and they looked terrible, and apparently the only way to turn them into a single is to leave the top part uncapped and exposed. So now my living room still looks super off from all the hardware on the top of the curtain being exposed. None of this came cheap, it was super expensive and some better/stronger advice would have been appreciated. It was impossible for us to tell what this would really look like but they should have experience to guide us and let us know what would and wouldn't work, and would have appreciated more effort to preserve the cap on the top when they were turned into single. I hate to spend even more money but if anyone knows who can fix this please let me know thanks. read more

Installed two remote controlled shades on a high ceiling and wall. I needed to replace the battery system, (which was at the shade itself requiring the use of a very tall ladder) with a central remote. the installation was great, very fast, and they cleaned up completely after they were done. Communication with Alexandra was good through the appointment process. After no word from Alexandra for several weeks, after I had paid for the shades and installation, I had to call to see if my shades had actually been ordered. the installation was scheduled two weeks after my call. read more

I am sad to give Aleksandra 3 stars because she is a very nice and patient person. However, after spending so much money on curtains, I was disappointed in our experience with Bay Area Window Dressing: 1. Aleksandra came to show me some samples, we agreed on what kind of drapes we would be installing. 2. She comes back with her installer this time and we discuss about how we want to install the drapes. 3. Installer comes back without Aleksandra on installation date and installs the drapes incorrectly. When I got home, I saw that the drapes were installed the way that I had said NOT to. He had already drilled holes in my roof in our brand new apartment. 4. He also tells us that he cannot find a box so 1/3 of the drapes were missing in their warehouse and they had to go find it. 5. Aleksandra comes back to reinstall with the installer. The installer comes without her and she shows up 1 hour later. They "attempted" to fix my roof, but the work was atrocious. 6. Aleksandra comes back with someone else to fix the roof. However, she is over 1 hour late. I feel like after spending many 000s on drapes, I expected a different kind of service and level of professionalism. Again, she is a nice person, but I was not paying her to be my friend. I am also super displeased that we have to repaint our roof because of the holes that were drilled. read more
