I had a scheduled appointment this morning, Tuesday 3/17 at 9am. The time, location, and date were confirmed with the Company. Today, the day of service there was a no-show by the Technician. I called (txt) the company at 10:30am to inquire whether the individual was going to show up, and they mentioned that the technician would not be showing up due to car issues. I understand that issues arise, such as car issues, that might impede someone from making their appointment, but as a Company and professional they should have sent me a notification advising this. It took me reaching out to the Company to get an answer. I took time off work, to meet with this individual, hours from work and income loss that I won't get back. In my opinion, this was very unprofessional. The Company propose to re-schedule the appointment, but I declined as this would mean I would need to take more time of work, on another date, to meet for an appointment that they didn't make the first go around. My trust is broken at this point and I will pass on any future services. read more

Five stars! Maybe more! I couldn't be more pleased. I have 3 very large motorized shades on the patio that were installed over 15 years ago. And recently one of the shades stopped working. I was pretty sure it was an issue with the motor, but I wasn't sure I could find someone who had experience fixing this type of issue on my brand of shade (Somfy). I contacted Oscar, and I immediately felt reassured that he knew what he was doing and had the right experience. He sent out a couple a great techs (Pat and Jay) that did an amazing job diagnosing and fixing the problem. They had to take the whole shade down, take out the old motors, install the new motors, reinstall the shade, and reprogram the remote. It was getting late, and I had to leave for a family dinner, but they stayed as the sun was setting to get the job done. They sent me the attached video to let me know that everything was completed successfully. WOW!!! Awesome service. read more

I needed to have two window shades repaired that were no longer operable. The team quickly resolved the issue for both shades same day. Extremely unprofessional. I purchased a set of blind from this company in Summer 2022 for $3100. It was expensive but I chose to have custom blind so it could last for a long time. Two years later, one of the blind broke. I thought it would last longer than this. Fine. Things happened. So I tried contacting the company through emails and phone. They put me on a voicemail each time I call them and my emails went unreplied. I was furious so I left a review here. Then, they finally replied asked me to delete the review and mentioned that they tried emailing me a couple of times but I never received it. I checked my inbox and my junk mail. Nothing. But fine, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Andy mentioned that it would cost $150 and lead time of one week to fix the blind. He came in one hour late to the appointment. It was raining so again, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Andy said he could return at 5 PM the same day. It was an exception given the one week lead time. Then, not even two weeks after. Another part of the blind broke again. I messaged and followed up with Andy over two days. He replied that he could come by to pick it up on Monday at 9 AM. Ok, great. On the day of the appointment, he missed it and didn't leave me any message. I was waiting at home and missed a few things at work because of this. Conclusion: Not recommended. Terrible ROI and terrible customer service. What would happen if this product break again? Would I need to pay another $150 and wait another week? And not to mention the lack of professionalism? Note: We decided to not go with them - they were unprofessional, rescheduled our initial appointment then showed up at the wrong time and without any preparation or materials/samples and wasted our time, then we thought they flaked to the follow-up appointment, but they ended up calling after they were 20min late and said they were going to be 45min later (2pm instead of 1:15pm) and someone else would be coming. We don't have any confidence in them to be on time or to do a good job. I reached out on 8/18 on Yelp. Amina replied and we scheduled an in-home consult on 8/29. On 8/28, they messaged on Yelp and texted to say their sales manager had an urgent family matter and needed to reschedule. That was fine with me, we rescheduled for 9/3 at 10am. On 9/3 at 9:28am I missed a call and got a voicemail from Andy at Shutter & Shade saying he was there "a little early" and even though we're scheduled for 10:30 (note: it was for 10am), could we see him early? I texted the number back that we couldn't be ready by 9:30 but we could do 10 and shared some local coffee shops. I then got a text from Cindy at Shutter & Shade at 9:31 saying: "This is Cindy with Shade Service. Andy is asking if he can be there slightly earlier maybe 10am?" Ugh, why are two people reaching out to me earlier than the appointment? I replied that I had just texted with him. At 10am I texted and he rang the doorbell a few minutes later. Andy brought only a tape measure with him and a card, he's the General Manager for both Shutter & Shade and Shade Service. We talked a bit about what we wanted and showed him the spaces. We went back to sit around our table and sat in silence as he looked on his phone. We asked what are we doing now? He said he was looking up photos but "the system was slow". It looked like he was just on the Hunter Douglas website. He did not bring any samples or a laptop. It was a joke of an appointment and a total waste of our time - nothing at all was accomplished. We said what's the next step - he recommended coming to their showroom and we asked if instead, they could come back with samples. He said it was better to go to the showroom because you can see more. We said sure, as long as we could bring samples home to look at in the rooms. He said we couldn't so we set a follow up appointment on 9/6 at 1:15pm. Today is 9/6. Andy called me at 1:40pm and said he's running late but his other guy will be there in 20 minutes and he would be there later, then said actually his other guy could do the appointment and he won't be there at all. Initially we said fine, we'll still be home at 2pm, but then realized we just don't have any confidence in them and ultimately wouldn't choose them anyway. We let them know we wouldn't be working with them and there was no need to send their other guy. Andy asked why and I said because they're late and it's unprofessional. He said he thought the appointment was for 1:30pm. I said even if it was, he should've called us before the appointment, not after they were late. --- Update: Shortly after posting this review, Andy began harassing me and called me 3x and I declined each time. I finally answered and asked why I gave him a 1-star review. I told him he could read it and asked him to stop calling me and let him know I'd be blocking his number. read more

This review is just for the design consultation as I've only completed this step. I will write my follow up after the installation is done. Consultation: Ben the owner contacted me promptly after I submitted an inquiry on Yelp to schedule a consultation. It was a weekend and he scheduled me for the upcoming Wednesday. He arrived at my home and showed me binders of the many fabric selections from Hunter Douglas. As I was browsing through the binders, he got the measurements of the windows and then showed me how to best view the fabric in my rooms. Ben's got an eye for design and gave me helpful tips for how he views the color against the walls, interior decor, and carpet. After I picked out fabrics I liked, he walked me through the options for upgrade and put together quotes for the fabrics I was considering. I didn't feel pressured to make a decision at all as Ben sent me the quotes and encouraged me to take all the time I need. He did let me know that it takes 3-5 weeks upon placing an order for the installation to happen, so it was helpful to know what to expect afterwards.
