When they installed the shutters, they all looked beautiful! They did fantastic job with installing them. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for shutters to be installed at your place. We think the pricing was fair as well. I don't remember pricing though but I do remember that my parents thought it was fair value. I totally forgot about them until my mom asked me last night because her friend wanted to get shutters installed so my mom asked me to find this place's info to send to her friend. :)

We were interested in changing them out for motorized shades and Rommel came out to our home for the consultation. He explained that the original cellular shades could not be retro-fitted to be motorized, so we would have to buy new sets. No problem - and totally understandable! Rommel was very patient and thorough with his explanation of why and working with us to understand our project. We ended up purchasing four sets of shades for our primary bedroom to cover two large windows with a two-layer, motorized system of black-out and light-filtering cellular shades. Rommel's installation team (Rene and Martin) were amazing - super fast, diligent, and competent! They also moved the original set of cellular shades we had to our living room, which meant we didn't lose them after all! They also updated the cord pulls for the original set, which we appreciated. The motorized shades have been such a wonderful addition to our master bedroom! We love the total darkness it provides for sleeping in -- and the automatic scheduler to lower / raise the shades as well has proven very convenient. We are VERY pleased with this upgrade. Overall, JMK Shutters offers a comprehensive, customer-first experience. Their team is knowledgeable, competent, and on-time. We have only good things to say about Rommel, Rene, and Martin and would consider them again for future work.

We recently moved to a place that did not have blinds and began using temporary paper blinds. We originally contacted Rebarts Interiors in Los Altos as they had a done a great job with our previous place's Hunter Douglas blinds. We booked their earliest available slot for a design consultation, which was 5 weeks into the future. While waiting, we decided to check out some other Hunter Douglas suppliers. Ego Blinds was the first place we stopped by on a Saturday. Mr. Shin helped us and told us he could do our design consultation that same afternoon. He came over and measured all our windows while my husband and I tried out different color samples and made our selections. I should note that the design consultation was a bit different that our consultation with Rebarts several years prior. The Rebarts consultant gave us lots of suggestions on style, color, etc. and helped us pick the design. Our consultation with Ego Blinds was more self-directed, but this was fine with us as we had a pretty good idea of what we were interested in. Mr. Shin told us the installation would happen in about 3-4 weeks. But he actually far exceeded our expectations by installing the blinds just 2 weeks after the consultation! So we ended up getting all the shades in our house installed before the time for our Rebarts design consultation even happened! (For comparison, several years ago, it took 7 weeks for Rebarts from consultation to installation.) We got blackout Duette top-down bottom-up shades for the bedrooms and roller shades for the common areas. We got our main bedroom shades motorized, and it has been great to be able to schedule the shades to open shortly before our morning alarm (so that we wake up naturally to the sunlight). The Hunter Douglas blinds are excellent quality, and we are very thankful for how quickly Ego Blinds allowed us to ditch our temporary paper blinds. Thank you!

I'd, literally, been searching for a competent shade repair company for YEARS! I am happy to say that technician Danny @ Alro Window Coverings has finally put an end to my search! We have an older model of the Somfy Shade brand motorized shades in our primary bedroom. To say that they are finicky would be an understatement. I've attempted to source parts for minor repairs on my own from Somfy, but ran into issues every time. Now that I've found Danny and Alro, my Somfy Shade woes have come to an end! This was the smoothest, most reliable and professional shade installation, and just what we were looking for. Carlos was prompt, courteous and professional. He installed 10 shades in our beach house, and they look spectacular! We couldn't have asked for better service. Ironically, too, one of the shades was cut wrong. He advised us about every step to take during the return process, at no cost to us. He will also be returning to install the new shade after it is cut. The shades were made by a second party which is a major shade store here in the Berkeley, CA area. We would not hesitate in using ALRO again in the future. We had Jesus from Arlo come out to fix some of the shades in our home. He/Arlo was assigned from the Shade Store and he was beyond unprofessional, rude, irate to be present to do the job. Jesus was also speaking in Spanish and lying to me and his manager, Marisol, on the phone about the service call, work needed and direction. When I told him I know we was lying because I can speak and understand Spanish was just become more annoyed. He left the job incomplete and left strings/wire hanging from the front of our automatic drapes causing a safety risk for our 2 year old. Marisol on the phone was equally unhelpful. Best service provider in my home EVER. Alfred arrived on time, was professional, polite, and personable - I had some problems with Stick Blinds and he fixed them carefully and quickly, and then I showed him our Romans that weren't quite lifting correctly and he not only fixed those he talked me through all he did so that I now know what to do to avoid future issues. He worked on about 8 shades total and was done in about 25 minutes. I would have given 6 or 7 stars instead of the maximum 5. I called for a check measure and the next day the owner Alfred arrived punctually, in mask and booties, to measure all my windows and sliding door for Old Style shades. Measurements were sent by email the very next day and I placed the order! Once a shipping date was provided, the office scheduled an appointment for the installation. At 97, changing a whole wall of drapes was not an option and fixing the traverse rod problem we had was what we were hoping could be done. Alfred performed his technical magic and it works like new! Of course on one of the hottest days of the year our second skylight shade was to be installed. Alexis and Elio worked so hard in a very high and tight staircase to get it done--you'd have to be part acrobat and weightlifter to manage this install. Carlos arrived promptly, and quickly got to work. He hung three motorized roller shades from the Shade Store, and programmed the remote to have the shades at the appropriate settings. He also explained how to do this myself and mounted the remote the wall. All of this in under an hour! He knew the product so well, I didn't realize he was independent from the Shade Store. Their products are excellent! I was impressed they had such a wide variety of shades, blinds, and curtains; and they took the time to help me choose the best options. They carefully measured all the windows, provided a comprehensive quote, and updated it several times to accommodate my evolving preferences (it's astounding there are so many colors, fabrics, and styles to choose from). The quality of the shades they installed is very high and the mechanisms to open and close them work smoothly. One of the best designs is a top-down, bottom-up shade that allows us to cover the bottom portion of a bathroom window (creating privacy while still allowing sun to stream in at the top). I also really like the sheer blinds that provide a perfect mix of light and privacy in the entry hallway. The installation process went very smoothly, with a true expert doing the work. He thought of every detail, from precisely leveling each shade to giving through instructions about how to use and maintain them. The office staff, estimator, and installer were all incredibly friendly and responsive. I felt they truly wanted me to be happy with the outcome and went out of their way to ensure each window looked great while providing the light-filtering and privacy we needed.

When they installed the shutters, they all looked beautiful! They did fantastic job with installing them. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for shutters to be installed at your place. We think the pricing was fair as well. I don't remember pricing though but I do remember that my parents thought it was fair value. He explained that the original cellular shades could not be retro-fitted to be motorized, so we would have to buy new sets. No problem - and totally understandable! Rommel was very patient and thorough with his explanation of why and working with us to understand our project. We ended up purchasing four sets of shades for our primary bedroom to cover two large windows with a two-layer, motorized system of black-out and light-filtering cellular shades. Rommel's installation team (Rene and Martin) were amazing - super fast, diligent, and competent! They also moved the original set of cellular shades we had to our living room, which meant we didn't lose them after all! They also updated the cord pulls for the original set, which we appreciated. The motorized shades have been such a wonderful addition to our master bedroom! We love the total darkness it provides for sleeping in -- and the automatic scheduler to lower / raise the shades as well has proven very convenient. We are VERY pleased with this upgrade. Overall, JMK Shutters offers a comprehensive, customer-first experience. Their team is knowledgeable, competent, and on-time. During our initial in-person consultation, she guided us through the best options for our setup--everything from which shades to choose, which ones to motorize, the most modern and popular material series, and colors that matched our home's vibe. Her communication was so efficient, and she clearly knows her stuff, that we had everything decided within about 30 minutes. We ended up selecting Hunter Douglas Duette honeycomb shades for our living and dining rooms, plus a Vertiglide for our sliding door, and Michele's recommendations were spot-on. The pricing was also very reasonable and competitive, which made the decision even easier. Later on, we decided to add two more shades for special-shape windows. Today, Oscar followed up to let me know that the charger had been ordered and they would let me know the specific date soon. The company that originally installed it had not done any of that! Shade Service also ordered a charger for me since I didn't have one. The original company only had an appointment 2 weeks out. Shade Service gave an appointment within2 days. I would highly recommend Shade Service and I would use them again.

This has been the most frustrating customer service experience I've ever had with a company. I've…read morenever encountered a business that simply stopped responding after collecting full payment. When placing my order, I told Steve multiple times that I wanted a wall-mounted controller for my motorized blinds. Despite this, the blinds were installed with the wrong controller. I contacted Steve immediately after installation and was told that I needed to pay my remaining balance in full before they could communicate with the factory and order the correct wall-mounted controller. I paid the balance as requested. After receiving full payment, Steve completely stopped responding. I sent multiple text messages, emails, and made phone calls over several weeks asking for an update, and every attempt was ignored. I have screenshots showing that I requested the wall-mounted controller before installation, that Steve acknowledged needing to order it from the factory, and that he stopped responding after payment was collected. Mistakes happen, and I would have understood if providing the wrong controller had simply been an oversight. What I cannot accept is being ignored after paying in full and trying repeatedly to resolve an issue caused by the company. If you choose to work with Vineyard Blinds & Shades, make sure you consider not only the installation itself, but also whether you'll be able to get help if something goes wrong afterward. Based on my experience, once they have your money, getting a response may become impossible.
