Rommel (owner), was the person that we got to meet in person. He was very professional and knowledgeable (you can easily tell). We didn't know much about shutters other than it looks great, but he provided pros and cons with various customization possibilities as we tried to explain our vision. Ultimately, we went with JMK as we felt the trust and comfort with the quality of service and materials thus far. The lead time for the shuttters were exactly what he said. Again, very flexible when it came time to scheduling the installation part. Rommel's team, (two guys whose names I wish I remembered to give credit), arrived promptly, were professional and considerate of our home now that a bunch of furniture and boxes were in the way...and a sleeping baby. The installation of five windows was completed in under a couple hours. My wife and I are extremely happy with how everything turned out. At the time we were doing remodeling of our home so we couldn't have them install the shutters right away. They were very accommodating with our time frame. When they installed the shutters, they all looked beautiful! They did fantastic job with installing them. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for shutters to be installed at your place. We think the pricing was fair as well. I don't remember pricing though but I do remember that my parents thought it was fair value. I totally forgot about them until my mom asked me last night because her friend wanted to get shutters installed so my mom asked me to find this place's info to send to her friend. :)

Rebarts just finished installing Hunter Douglas automatic window coverings in our living room and…read morehome office and it was another great experience (we used them 7 years ago). Bart came in November 2023 at 5:30pm (he works hard!) and had all the latest laser gadgets to get exact measurements. He stayed for a few hours because I had a hard time deciding what type of window covering to get but was so patient with me and even ran five separate proposals with pricing for me. Once we decided, he warned us that it'll take months for the window coverings to be made and 3 months later we got a call to schedule installation. Oscar and another installer (I'm sorry I can't remember his name but he was awesome with the tech set up) came in March 2024 and made sure to call ahead before arriving, put shoe coverings on before entering, and were so friendly. They were quick with their work and offered to wait to ensure all the shades were connected to the gateway before they left. While they were there, we noticed one of the shade covers was slightly defective so Oscar ordered a replacement right away. It took another month to arrive and Fernando came to swap out the defective blind in less than 15 minutes. Every person I spoke to at Rebarts (estimator, salespeople, scheduler, installers) were knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. It's obviously a family business that spends the time to train their employees and cares about their customers. Finally, I know it's almost ridiculous to have to point this out but stay with me...they didn't send me the final invoice until the job was completely done (i.e., after the defective shade was replaced). I'm working with a window company and they've been hassling me to make my final payment even though I've pointed out that the sliding patio door they installed was defective. While they agree that the door is defective, they said they've done their job of installing and the defective door is manufacturer's problem so they should get paid. Clearly they lack pride in their work but Rebarts does not. I would definitely recommend Rebarts to anyone.

David suggested doing motorized for the big window because it's too large for manual, and it turned out beautifully. I ended up choosing zebra shades, motorized for the large windows and manual for the rest. The shades arrived a week earlier than expected. On installation day, Yeyo showed up early and installed all 12 windows super fast. He also cleaned up afterward. All the shades turned out beautifully. And when one of the second set of repaired shaded came back, the cheap plastic handle was broken off. The workmanship is not there and the repairs are costly and time consuming. She provided meaningful options and we are happy with the design. We discussed with Aleksandra that we wanted the shades installed as close to our skylights as possible, and she confirmed with the installer that that was possible. Install (David): 2/5 We did a walkthrough with David and again explained that we wanted the shades as close to our skylights as possible. He asked, and we told him, that we also wanted the solar recharging panels to be on the side where the shade collected when opened (so the panels would be less visible). To be fair, David warned us that he would likely scratch the walls and may leave gaps because the coverage around our skylights was uneven. Both of those came to pass (which I am separately fixing), but that is not why we are unhappy with the install. Rather: - Despite the fact our ceiling is flat and our skylights are flat, David installed the shades at a slight angle. When I confronted him about it, he stated he was trying to follow the wall around the skylight. I disagree that his approach accomplished that. In any event, if there were options as to how the shades were going to be installed, we believe David should have conferred with us before unilaterally making a decision. - David also installed the solar panels on the opposite side of where we discussed. David stated he had no recollection of our prior conversation. We disagree that we never discussed this, but as above, if there were options, we believe David should have checked with us before installing. After confronting David about the shade with the most severe angle he begrudgingly reinstalled it (photos attached). Aleksandra did offer a partial refund and offered to have David come back out and reinstall the shade. However, we do not have the availability to monitor David the entire time he is here, which appears to be the only way to ensure things are done as we discussed. Additionally, the 3 of the 4 corner covers have fallen from the shade that David reinstalled and we do not relish the same thing happening to the other shades. The upshot is Aleksandra is easy to work with, but if you get David to do your install you may want to supervise his work.

I spoke with Jeff, the owner, and he pointed me at the Diamond Certified website http://www.diamondcertified.org/smshutterman.html where he has an 'Excellent rating" going back 7 years with 160 random customer reviews. The Shutter Man, Jeff just finished installing my new plantation shutters in the living room and blackout blinds in the bead room. It all looks wonderful and Jeff called me every step of the way to make sure I knew what was happening and when it would all be dun. He even fixed some old wood shutters in the kitchen that I thought were beyond repair. That saved some money. And prices... I called a dozen window treatment companies and his prices beet them all. Jeff Lee the Shutterman did such a great job of installing my shutters in my house. He came over when I asked and was right on time! He overlooked my house and gave me a free estimate. And he was very patient with me when I kept going back and forth with what product I wanted, Jeff made sure I was satisfied with my order and had no problem waiting for me to decide. Jeff and his team started right away and I was amazed how fast they got the job done, they were in and out of my house in the blink of an eye. What really amazed me was when Jeff came back a month later to fix one of the shutters that my son had ripped off, he stayed over until it was perfect and even repainted some of the wall that was chipped off. Jeff "The Shutterman" (San Mateo) installed plantation shutters throughout our home couple of years ago. I had done a bit of reasearch before contacting him and thought I knew exactly what I wanted...but on our initial meeting, Jeff's suggestions and insight on our specific habits/needs completely customized what we ended up getting in the end - and it totally transformed the look of our home. The installation was quick and painless - but the reason for this review is because we called him recently to fix a shutter we broke through carelessness. Not only did he respond quickly - but he went through our entire home and made sure all of our shutters were in good shape....such great personal service! Highly recommend him. read more

Today, Oscar followed up to let me know that the charger had been ordered and they would let me know the specific date soon. The company that originally installed it had not done any of that! Shade Service also ordered a charger for me since I didn't have one. The original company only had an appointment 2 weeks out. Shade Service gave an appointment within2 days. I would highly recommend Shade Service and I would use them again.

Gary installed my window coverings…read more Unfortunately when I had to request a warranty repair, it was a complete s--- show. I think I averaged 4 attempts/follow ups spread across 1 month to contact Gary to every single response I received, half of which were just restating my problem and not actually addressing it. Also it took 4 visits (which meant over 20 attempts to get in touch) and over 1 year to actually get him to come to visit to do any warranty repairs, and when he finally did come, he was unable to deliver part of the warranty repairs that I reminded him about at each attempt to contact him. All he offered was "I'm sorry but I'm retiring soon." So sure, go ahead with Gary if you want blinds installed. Be prepared to wait, and wait ... And wait , then wait some more if you need any service on his installations.
