There are not many places that repair 12yr old Hunter Douglas blinds. I had to call Hunter Douglas directly and they recommended AIM. A couple years ago one of our Hunter-Douglas honeycomb blinds broke - something went wrong with the internal mechanism. Partially due to laziness/lack of motivation, we just coped with a half-working blind and never got around to thinking about fixing it. However, we just redid our bathroom, and we decided that this dopey broken window treatment just wasn't going to cut it anymore. Since Hunter-Douglas boasts a lifetime warranty, I called their customer service and they pointed me in the direction of AIM. When I called, Mike answered the phone immediately. He was patient as I struggled feebly to explain what I needed, and then assured me that this is something he could repair. He gave me two options - either he could travel to my home and repair it there, or I could take it in to him and have it repaired in the shop for a lower price. I chose the latter because at heart I'm a cheapskate. He told me that the turnaround time is typically a few days, but there's also sameday service. I asked, well, how about tomorrow? He told me that as long as I came in first thing in the morning, he would be able to get it done the same day. I showed up just before opening, and he greeted me at the door as I approached. I gave him the blinds and asked what time I should come back at retrieve it, but he said that he'd be able to take care of it right then and there. What? That's awesome - I didn't really relish the idea of having to make another trip back up here. He took the blind to the back, and as I browsed through the store (boy, there's a lot of nice stuff here), one of his colleagues offered me a cup of coffee. I had barely begun to drink it when Mike came out with the repaired blinds, working good as new. Quick, skilled, friendly service - what's not to like about that? So, this was a remarkably positive experience. If any of our blinds break on us again, or if we just need to change our window coverings, we'll definitely make this place our first stop. read more

I reached out to his website, and after a few exchanges (where I was the limiting factor), we sent pictures and described our blinds. Had a blind that needed fixed and was referred to AIM by Hunter Douglas. Very fast response time. Very accommodating to arrange drop off for repair, especially considering the Shelter-In-Place. Dropped off on a Friday and was ready for pick up Monday! Hard to beat that. Reasonable price and a one-year warranty on the work. Got my blinds re-installed and can finally sleep in again. While they are an authorized Hunter Douglass service center, they are more expensive to do a repair on a blind than a reputable retailer, like an Interiors and Textiles would charge to fix damaged blinds. Also, they are not upfront about their pricing - the price they give at the beginning is actually an "all cash" price which they don't tell you until you pick up your repair, and if you want to use a credit card or check, the price is 20% higher. Seemed a bit scammy, charging that much higher probably so they don't have to pay taxes. You are better off sending repairs through a reputable retailer - you'll pay less, get better work done, and not be scammed. read more

After using Aim in the past to restring some blinds, I was looking to replace a broken plastic hanging bracket and only found them online with an outrageous shipping charges. Not only did Michael quickly return my call, and let me know I could get a free replacement from Hunter Douglas (in 7-10 days), he offered to try to find one he had laying around his shop. I called to find out about cleaning six custom Hunter Douglas blinds that I thought might have been ruined by skim coating mud. Mike was very patient and friendly. We had Hunter Douglas shades installed 10 years ago. One of them, a Duette Duolite with Literise would not retract. Another, a Silhouette with Easyrise, had the cord that was fraying and needed to be replaced. I asked AIM for an in-home appointment since I didn't want to dismantle the shades and take them to the shop even thought that would have been cheaper. Mike came promptly at the appointed time last Wed and had all the tools and parts he needed and did a great professional fix in approximately 30 minutes. He even replaced a cracked plastic push-pull grip that wasn't part of the order. I would highly recommend Mike and AIM. read more

I am happy to report this company does great work. I contacted them, they were booked solid for a few weeks but that is likely because they are good. They called the day before to confirm, showed up on time, did nice work on the blinds, cleaned up after themselves, removed shoes or wore shoe covers in my home, and the price wasn't bad for in home blind cleaning. Very friendly, knowledgeable and provide extra service (new strings for my blinds) at no extra charge. This young business owner deserves your business! read more

A real estate agent broke one of my blinds and it was left very askew, and could not figure out anyone to repair it. I did a google search, called AIM and talked with Mike for an emergency repair, and he fixed the blind that day, as well as walked me through removing and replacing the blind to get it to him. I was very fortunate to find this company and to work with Mike. He took the time to understand my concerns, was prompt, extremely professional, and just a really nice guy. I had to re-schedule my appointment several times as I was having a window replaced, and then had to wait until the caulking was dried, before the window treatments could be re-installed. These were Hunter Douglas Luminettes with the blackout feature purchased in 2002. It's amazing how much better they look and I am very grateful that Mike also took extra time to fix a problem with the rail for the living room, as it was getting stuck in a particular spot when opening/closing. He also reinforced it on the end with the controls, because the weight of the fabric (it's a huge full length wall window) was making the extenders sag on that side and he didn't want to risk that I may break it. My lessons learned: 1) don't wait so long to have them cleaned again; 2) call Mike at AIM - one of the most trustworthy professionals I have ever met! read more

Mike is the man! Our Hunter Douglas Duette shade would no longer lift, and Mike was able to fix it as I waited and for a minimal charge. It will cost more and take longer if you have them come to your home. Why do that, though? Drive there (on the corner of Brittan and Industrial). If yours is a while-you-wait repair, then walk across the street. I enjoyed time spent in the antique shop, but you may prefer Ross or Office Depot.
