I've had asg in my home since 2010 and have been very satisfied with the service I've received. Scott Jordan was my installer years ago and did a great job. He has advanced up to sales manager now but throughout the years has always maintained a direct relationship with me. I can contact him and he will reroute my issue himself without handing me off. The equipment is great, using Alarm.com apps on my phone and iPad is easy to set up and notifies me of everything I ask of it, from doors left open to knowing when the system is armed and disarmed for housekeeper. They maintain all the equipment so when something breaks, they come out and repair or replace it. I highly recommend Scott Jordan and his team. read more

This is the worst security company I have ever been with i would not recommend them to anyone and this is the third security system I have had read more

No I don't because installer didn't finish it didn't come back either and I called them but he never responded to me.

This company PRESENTS very well, intelligent salesman and prompt installation (too prompt). However, the equipment is sketchy...they IMPLIED that my BRINKS equipment was fine..they added different cameras and doorbell, but left all the previous sensors in place. NOT WORKING as stated and needed. Appointment was made for them to come yesterday and they DID NOT SHOW UP. The worst of it, however, was our alarm triggered while we were out of town. I got the alert, but the company said the police department REFUSED TO COME!!! What???? I pay $94.00 a month (which I didn't realize was an actual loan of over $8,000 spread over 15 years!!!) My previous ADT, then BRINKS were never a LOAN at the credit bureau...but ASG is and by GOD you better know it. PINNACLE has actually sold my loan already to a collection agency that I HAVE TO MONITOR!!!! I think this company is PREDATORY in practice and I'm yet to be impressed with the SECURITY PART..WHERE ARE THE POLICE THAT I AM PAYING FOR??? read more

1. Cloned my voice from a phone call I hung up right after asking them who they asked for. They did not speak clearly. I remember the call when I heard my voice from ASG. I routinely do not answer unknown calls. that's why I quickly hung up. They only need a couple seconds to clone a voice. 2. Showed up at my door saying they were contracted by ADT to change out my button alarm panel to digital. 3. Left ASG sign in my yard I found later. 4. Alarm went off when I was in back yard. No text, no email, no call. 5. Called to discontinue service. Oh yes, there is the Aqua Finance Company I owe $6,000+ loan for equipment. Signed no contract. Aqua Finance somehow got my Debit card info and withdrew $60 in Feb. ASG did not show up til April. I got emails from Aqua Finance and deleted them thinking they were spam. EQUIPMENT worth $6,000+: 1 Digital panel, 2 smoke alarms, 1 indoor camera, no service. My ADT is reinstalled and working fine. Cost: $100 I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS WITH ASG or representatives. read more

My elderly grandmother who lives alone was recently the victim of a scam by ASG Security / Aqua Finance, the latter of which is subject to an existing FTC lawsuit. A man named Jordan McKenzie came to my grandma's door in October 2025 and used deceptive marketing tactics and fooled her into getting a new security system and taking on a loan for $5,423.17 with Aqua Finance to pay for the alarm system. He lied and told her he installed my previous system (which was Brinks, a different company), and that there was something wrong with my existing system (another lie). We have him on video (via Ring doorbell) saying these things. He even went so far as to convince my grandma to give him her phone so that he could send an email to Brinks cancelling her contract with them! He convinced her to sign a finance contract, which was not clearly explained to me as being a loan. There was a bunch of men in the car waiting and came in to install it the same day. On 1/7/26 we spoke with Carissa Van Dyke, an alleged manager, who was incredibly rude while trying to feign concern. Unfortunately she and the entire company knows they are scammers, and so she sent us an email with a recorded phone call where they try to cover their butts and scammed my grandma into saying she knew what they doing. But she is an elderly woman home alone surrounded by a bunch of men! What was she supposed to do at that point?? This was absolutely coercion. Absolutely horrific humans at this entire company. We are going to seek legal action and try to ensure this stops happening to vulnerable people. We of course filed complaints with FTC, BBB and local authorities. read more

Where do I start? The person Houston, sold us 2 systems and quoted if we buy outright, monitoring will never go up. He also stated that this would be the same service as our Brinks - but apparently there is no monitoring to alert proper authorites and no fire, and have inquired repeatedly about a sensor that was bad when tech left. It's been 13 months with a non-working sensor, our bill went up and our insurance company informed us that they are not monitoring our properties, just providing back cellular. What?? This is incredibly scamming the elderly!! So upset, frustrated and disappointed. Houston live in Colorado, not even in our state! The installer quit soon after our visit and then they were going to charge us for fixing the broken sensor installed... read more

This was a HUGE MISTAKE. The salesman rapidly went thru a typical sales pitch and had me sign the sale on his I Phone without letting me review all the documents in detail. When I reviewed I saw that I could cancel within 5 days. I contacted the companies involved to cancel. I emailed the cancellation as well as sending the hard copies of the cancellation to them via registered mail. As of now absolutely no response. BE VERY CAREFUL DEALING WITH THEM! read more

in October 2025, a young man whose name was Houston showed up at my door with a new security system from what I already had. since I was unhappy with the one I had, I decided to listen to his pitch. I honestly don't know if he tricked me because of my age (83) or what, but I am finding out that what I thought I was getting, was mostly a huge overpriced LOAN. A 15 year loan at 8.9% interest. I don't believe he told me correctly about the amount or time. I have tried to reach the company a few times, but still haven't connected with them . I do not even know if actually have alarm status through the county emergency services. the equipment he changed out was not listed with dollar amounts, but I doubt it would have been that much. in the end, I got a debt for over $5,000.00, which at the end of fifteen years will amount to over $9,000.00. I am very unhappy about their deception and taking advantage of my age. (my daughter was here at the time and she said she thought he mentioned a five year payout, not a high dollar fifteen year loan.) read more

Don't go with these people. They are scam artists. 5000.00 for 300 of equipment. I foolishly believed them.

This company contacted my elderly mother, who is in the early stages of dementia, while she was home alone. Then they proceeded to sell her a home security system for $5,000 and $50 a month after that!!! This $5,000 package only included 3 door sensors and a keypad! No motion sensors, no window sensors, and no cameras. To put this into perspective, I currently have a home security system for my home (from a reputable company) that has 6 cameras, 4 door sensors, 13 windows, 2 motion sensors for upstairs and downstairs and 2 keypads with one being a mobile touchscreen that I can access my cameras on. This entire package WITH INSTALL was $1,300 and $40 a month after that. Additionally, after I got back in town from school and went to my moms and learned about all this, I looked through her contract. It is very clear that the signatures and the initials were not written by her. I'm very familiar with my mother's signature and those on the contract are NOWHERE close! I don't know who signed and initialed but it definitely wasn't my mother. So of course I called the company and they refused to do anything about it saying they had a recording of her verbally accepting the contract. It's insane.... Anyone, dementia or not, can verbally agree to something they have no clue about when the salesman is sitting right in front of them. They also demanded a copy of a power of attorney since I can't make those decisions for my mother without her consent. Insanity! To top it off, my mother was (and still is) in the hospital a month later due her deteriorating brain function. They couldn't care less. They need to keep that 5 grand from this elderly lady who has no retirement and lives off her social security. It's readily apparent they preyed on my mother and took advantage of her at every opportunity. Just wanted to let you all know my experience with them. My battle is far from over though! My mom doesn't have enough money to just lose 5k. That's devastating to her financial security. Good luck to those who choose ASG!!! read more

I signed up with this company because I was looking to change my current home security system. These guys knocked on my door. They were very nice but I was already unhappy with my current provider. So I was offered $300 to get out my current provider which helped with the amount still owed. Little did I know that this was not a service home security system but a loan applied to my credit and continues to never go down. I am so disappointed and they took clear advantage of me and me wanting to not be under contract with the current provider. Now I am in debt with these people all because I wanted cameras on my property! I should have just gone to the store and installed them myself! I didn't want another huge bill. Now $4300 later still growing with interest! I want out or just a regular bill. You see these people coming just close your door. read more

These guys do seem to want to make it difficult to cancel service. They try to force you into an "auto renewel" where every year your "contract" somehow magically re-signs itself and re-extends another 12 months. Then even if your contract is up, apparently you have to send them a signed "cancellation letter" indicating your desire to cancel service. You can't just tell them over the phone. I was actually considering using them on my new home, but after seeing how they treat cancellations I don't want to get stuck in this mess again. They claim this 12 month auto renewel is "industry standard" but I had two other security companies before ASG and neither of them did that. read more

Unfortunately, I have to agree with several of the reviews below. If you take a look at the company website, the mission statement is to "...provide affordable, best-in-class security solutions to our customers while exceeding the value expectations of our shareholders and employees." It also goes on to talk about the importance of integrity, truth, fairness, and performance. Maybe the service in other markets is to up par with the company mission statement, but the Austin location leaves MUCH to be desired. I've been dealing with this company since the end of September 2013 and our system has still not been completely installed. The company has not communicated properly, if at all, as we've been waiting to hear how things are coming along. I've had to manage the project from my end because they fail to do so. It's simple folks, manage your customers expectations, under promise and over deliver. Most importantly do what you say you're going to do and apologize when you fall short. One positive comment, their installer Stephen has done a good job the times he has been out. Unfortunately for him, he had to make additional trips because it wasn't communicated to him the idiosyncrasies of how to install our system. Again poor communication on ASG. read more

How this company is still in business is one of the great mysteries of the modern world. We paid them an insane amount of money to set up our home media and security system and their implementation is so complicated that when it breaks down (at least on a monthly basis), the very people who installed it cannot figure out how to fix it. They recently took in a remote that controls our entire system because it stopped working, told us they'd have it back in a "week or less" and then kept it for 6 weeks without fixing it. I have tried endlessly to get these guys to cooperate with me but they continuously blame their coworkers, make excuses, and straight up LIE to me about the situation. I'm beginning to think they actually enjoy taunting their customers. Needless to say, I am canceling all services I have with these clowns and will never pay them a red cent again for anything. If you are considering using them, I can save you some time. Just pay me a bunch of money and I'll come over and kick you in the crotch and you'll basically be getting the same service ASG offers. read more

We took security contract bids from three different alarm companies (ADT, Vivant, Hawk) and were most impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the ASG rep. who visited with us. In most areas of equipment and monitoring fees, ASG was much lower, and we appreciated those competitive differentiation's. Two years later we couldn't be happier with our decision to allow ASG into our home and install their 2GIG panel and associated devices. read more

The sales team and technical staff are excellent! Not only was I able to get a great deal on our security system but they were able to accommodate our hectic schedule as we recently moved to the Austin Area and did the full install on our 1st day in our new home. The technician was prompt and on time and so very knowledgeable. Having my family safely secure during the day and in evening time is my number one priority for my loved ones. Knowing that I have ASG protecting us is very relieving. I will say that we did accidentally set off one of the alarms and the response time to get contacted by the customer care team had to be less than 20 seconds!!! If you want peace of mind hire ASG Security. read more

Mediocre customer service from call center, but the tech who came to the house was great. Our alarm had been chirping non stop for 2 weeks. At first the call center said they'd charge for a technician to come look at it. Then they said they'd send someone free of charge, scheduled it for 4 hour window, then no showed. Once he arrived, he did solve the problem immediately so overall we were satisfied. read more

This company basically took 5 or 6 hundred dollars from me by acquiring a failed companies contract for security monitoring that did not work to begin with, charged me monthly without me noticing it for several months and then made me pay a 300 dollar cancellation fee. If you need security or have a security system and think it is being montiored, you should check it. Mine wnet out at leat 5 times and I never got a call, never, not once. read more

I was fine with the service they offered in regards to their daily monitoring of my home. My issue began when I decided to move away and sell my home, they were unwilling to just cancel my account without requiring me to pay the total remaining balance left on my contract, not just an early cancellation fee, or a portion of the balance, the whole balance......after a few months of back and forth with them, I was finally able to work out a settlement, but I still had to pay $300 in order to cancel my account....I will never use them again, and will urge others not to if they can help it. read more

So, ASG basically came prebuilt into my house, and for 3 years, no problems. Then, the alarm is accidentally triggered, the police come and go, no problems, until I get a very big citation for not having a permit for my alarm. I call the company. The first person says she would have a manager call me back... no call back. So I write an email a week later. This person says, it is my responsibility to register the alarm, and that is in my statements... which are paid automatically on line... no paper statements. She first said that the alarm should have been registered when we bought the house, then that it was a new ordinance. Finally, she said ASG has no way of knowing about local ordinances. ASG operates alarm systems in the city of Austin, but they have no way of knowing what the local laws are regarding alarm systems? How can a business operate that way? What else don't they know? Worthless. Use a different company. read more

ASG/Protection 1: The company kept increasing rate without appropriate notification. Difficult to cancel and rips you off. Never gave me back my refund. I called and I was told I did not pay a month, too bad I have automatic payment so I have all the back up invoices and payment. I will not have an excellent credit for nothing. Will not recommend at all :( read more

BE VERY CAREFUL when signing a contract with this company. Of course the contract is written in 2pt type, so you need a magnifying glass to read it. The girl who went over it with me had to enlarge it 200% in order to read it to me. Upon signing you are under contract for 3 full years and your contract automatically renews yearly after that. If you need to cancel; you are responsible for the payments through the end of the contract or you can buy out of the contract for a hefty fee. I initially signed a contract with entirely different company way back in 2001, which was taken over by ASG in 2005. Unfortunately our contract automatically renewed 5 months ago, so I am still responsible for 7 months of payments (7 x $35 = $245) or can pay a $190 cancellation fee. It feels like a big scam really. read more

ASG SUCKS! There is no more to say. They will cheat you every opportunity they get. Will take your money for services you did not want and then have the balls to tell you, sorry, but we do not issue prorated refunds - even though we charged you for something you didn't get. ASG SUCKS! read more

Trying to get this service turned on in my home is a nightmare. I called to schedule an appointment on Saturday and was greeted by a gentleman who basically said he doesn't work on weekends (even though the company says they do) he told me he would have someone come out on Monday. Come Monday around 2pm I called and talked to a lady on the phone which was so rude, she gave me an attitude saying she left me messages, even though she didn't. This company doesn't seem like they want to do their job. I will update this if I ever get this lousy company to install the service. I will test the service myself, I will be breaking into my own home. read more

I've had ASG in my home since I purchased it in 2011. I recently upgraded from a regular alarm to a 2 Gig system, basically a smart alarm system that you can access via the internet and/or an app on your phone. Service has been great all the way around. Definitely have no complaints about these guys. read more

Worst company imaginable. Have them for AV and alarm. They installed both systems. Neither work like they should. TV's out all the time due to system/ installer issues. Terrible support. Hard to get anyone out. DO NOT USE THEM. The only reason I gave them a one is because I couldn't give them a zero.Very expensive system - terrible results and support. read more

ASG does not care about the customer. That's how I feel after having them upgrade my system and not correcting a problem because the part was installed by a previous company which they bought out. They claim the system was tested before hand and that function was not working but I was with the installation tech all morning and he did not do so. The manager then decided to call the tech and ask him after I told him I was there with the tech and the system was not tested before hand. I had enough of the lies from the service/install manager and ask if they were going to do the right thing to satisy the customer by replacing the part. He told me that I would have to buy the part and pay to have them install it. I am making sure to cancel as soon as my contract is up. read more

I just had one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had with a company with ASG Security. It was so bad in fact that this is the first time I've ever bothered to write a Yelp review for any company. I recently bought a house that has an ASG system installed. It's still on, but I haven't activated the service. However, the alarm started going off randomly today so naturally I called the company to get some help. I was told that since I wasn't signed up for service with them, they couldn't help me. The guy wouldn't even answer a question for me on how I could disable it. I could, however, call their marketing department in the morning and sign up for service...and then they would speak to me. Meanwhile, my alarm is going off in the background. I was shocked that a company actually treats people / potential customers this way. I will never do business with these people. read more

I give ASG an F for not e mailing bills. What company today is that stupid? I live in Florida, New Jersey and Maine, three times I have not received a bill and a collection agency has called me, when asked why didn't ASG call, they said they didn't have my phone number. I asked then how did you get it? Right, they need to upgrade there billing dept. I give them two stars not for service, which I was happy with, but an outdated billing dept. Someone smack the company president across the head and wake him up. read more

Is there a 1/2 star rating? Actually, a half star may still be too high of a rating. ASG is by far the worst security company on the planet!! I broke into my own house a month ago, and the alarm system never triggered off!! I called their Customer Service people to report his and I was told that I can get an upgrade!! WTFudge, it didn't seem to concern anyone that I was able to break in without a siren going off and without any alert notification being sent out to them or to the authorities. There are so many flaws in this security system and I get the sense that the employees of ASG really don't care. In my numerous dealings, I never once felt that there was a genuine concern for my home security!!! I had to get a dog just to feel more secure in my home. I am excited that my contract is about to expire in 3 months! I will definitely be looking for a real home security system and get the peace of mind that I have been longing for!!! read more

Only in my first month of service and my experience has been terrible. The first time they came out to install they didn't have the right equipment because the sales guy didn't write up the order correctly. They came back the next weekend and tested everything but a couple days later one of the sensors broke and it took them two appointments to fix that. One time they called to tell me the break-in alarm was activated but that it was "probably a false alarm" and couldn't tell me if the cops had been dispatched so I had to take off work to go home and check myself. Now there's another problem with the communication on the panel. When I initially called about it, they just said they would "look into it". When I called to follow up they told me I had to call back when I was near the panel so they could test it. When I called the third time, they tested the panel and of course it didn't work so they told me a tech would call to schedule an appointment to come out and I'm still waiting on that call. I called this morning because the panel keeps beeping and their customer service office is closed! read more

We signed a contract with ASG security for 3 years, when we were about to sign the contract I told the agent we read negative things about them on ending the contract. The agent said there is no problem, that we just needed to give them notice. I called to notify them that we won't continue anymore after the contract, and the representative I spoke with said it was okay, that he was going to note it down. Then my husband called to asked them if they do month to month because we are moving, but they said no. After the contract ended, we stopped using the service and we continue receiving bills. I called them and I was told we are on month to month after the contract and we have to pay for 2 months we didn't use. I told the lady I spoke with we didn't know we were on month to month she still insisted we had to pay, that we were suppose to send them a later to notify them we wanted to cancel. I asked how come none of their representative told us to write a letter. To cut the long story short, we had to pay about $76 for services we didn't use to get rid of them. I think they are a scam! read more

I don't even have the service and I am thankful. Two representatives came to my house yesterday. Mind you I don't know them from Adam's housecat and it could have been a scam, I'm still not sure. Anyway, the aggressively made their way into my home and made their pitch. I asked if they had business cards, the lead mouth said yes. I asked for a business card and brochures about the company. Since, I had never heard of ASG and these guys showed up in a red POV, I wanted to check out the company for myself before committing. Well, mouth said, "I AM THE BROCHURE. Do you want to keep paying twice as much for half the service?!" I thought he was quite unprofessional and rude! If you don't have time for me to check out your company, then I don't have time to entertain your rude @&&!! Even though it was stated to be a limited-time promotional, they should have had some company brochures or something other than shoving his cell phone in my face, showing me what he wanted me to see!! read more
