When he painted my toes they were clumpy and other workers noticed my face. I said, "I never do this but I think you need to repaint them with a different polish". I have been at Asana a few times and have always had a pleasant experience. Today was much different. I made an appointment for a pedicure. The lady who took care of me immediately looked at my hands and asked if I wanted a manicure. I have a hands-on job so typically I do not get manicures. She asked multiple times and then said I could just get nails buffed (like a men's manicure). I was told the regular manicure was $18 and buff was $8. I did then say that I would do a regular one with clear nail polish. She continued that if I wasn't going to upkeep them, a buff would be better. I accepted her statement and got buff. During pedicure she hurt me and also suggested that they do waxing (I don't shave legs day of pedicure because my skin is sensitive if I do). I disregarded her condescending comments. Then when it was time to pay, she told me $18 for manicure, $8 for buff & $25 for pedicure. I questioned that although she did not polish my nails why was I paying for a full manicure. I asked to speak to owner who was sitting a few feet from us. She took off the $8 buff and charged me $43. I didn't want to argue or cause a scene because that's not me. The owner heard the entire conversation and let me walk out as an unhappy customer. I hope my one toe that she hurt does not get infected. I will not return. read more

The customer you are referring to was an elderly lady who began to yell at me saying to me "oh shut up" She was frustrated having to hear as I was interrogated by each person about what Lucy told me. I told her that it was not her place to speak up and be rude to me. I can't blame her for being irritated either. Rather than just address the issue and fix the problem the owner and salon staff created more problems. When I first walked in to discuss the failed nails the receptionist was checking someone out but she wanted to interrupt the woman's checkout and payment process to seat me for service. She should have finished checking the woman out and asked me sit and wait. Instead I had to tell her to finish with the customer first so I could speak with her privately away from other customers.Next, she proceeded to interrupt the elderly woman's service with her technician to go over my nails. That should never have happened. The elderly woman had to hear about the nails over and over as I was put through questioning and phone calls with 4 other members of your staff. The customer then became extremely rude herself in a salon full of rude staff and said she was tired of hearing it and that I should leave. Your nail salon created all these issues by not handing this in a professional manner. Perhaps I should have ignored your customer yelling at me but the only thing I could do was to tell her to mind her own business. Everything that happened in your salon that day created a toxic environment for everyone involved. I walked away feeling drained from all of it. So much negative energy and lack of concentration on doing the work right the second time. I was there on Tuesday the nails began chipping again on Thursday. read more

This place was weird. I went in for a pedicure manicure. I got my pedicure first and while the nail tech who was taking care of me was very friendly she was constantly up selling. I'm sure she was advised to do this so I'm not blaming her but I'd really just like to enjoy this pedicure instead of saying no thank you. She also started my massage by putting on a timer. I found that off putting. The place was completely empty. My manicure chipped pretty quickly after but I am a working mom so there is that. The place was very clean and updated. I came to get my nails done today. This spa is dirty and the attendants extremely rude! No eye contact or conversation. When leaving my nail smudged and the woman acted like it was a real problem to fix. Got horrible vibes in there ( as they laughed in a different language) I would not recommend this place. I was going out of town so I had no time to go back. I called and asked for a refund. The guy knew exactly who I was as soon as I said I wasn't happy with my nails. He told me I can come back and get them removed if I want a refund. I explained that I was going out of town for a week and he said that I could come back in a week to get them removed then. I had originally said ok to avoid argument only to realize that a week from them would be Mother's Day. So I of course didn't go back because I spent the day with my mom. I've been super busy at work since and called today to figure out if I could come in to get the refund today. Alas, my search for a nail salon eludes me here in Phoenix. Ken's nail salon makes my list of subpar salons. First let's start with waiting, even though there were inly a few people being serviced. Second, my nail tech was very lax with my service. She barely massaged my feet, didn't massage my hands, didn't have me wash my hands after buffing and filing my nails and did a poor job polishing my nails. I read the poor reviews of this place but decided to give it a chance anyway today. I was wrong. I was a walk-in and asked for SNS removal and dip. At first, they sounded as if I had no idea what I was talking about. A lady asked if I wanted/had extensions (I later learned they don't do dip on nails with tips) however my nails are natural so they allowed me to choose a color. I told the gentleman to be careful because I had one broken nail already and I'm afraid of the drill, I told him I've been cut before and tried to joke that I didn't want to bleed again. He soaked my nails for 3 minutes, not nearly long enough, commented on how thin my nails were and then used the file extremely rough, ripping the nail in half on my ring finger. He didn't want me to see what he had done and protested when I took my hand away from him ( its my hand, you can't hide and pretend like it didn't happen). I told him to just cut the nails as I would have to start over. He ignored me and "glued" the nail together with the dip, we'll see how long that lasts. He then started dipping my nails in the the orange color I picked (which turned out to be fire engine red, not what I picked) before my old color was all the way off so now you can see purple spots of old color under my new color because he was too lazy to be thorough and careful. I kept reminding him to be gentle, but he kept nicking me with the drill and filing too hard, bending my nails which HURT. This guy doesn't know how to be gentle at all. Lol in the middle of all this, their receptionist/assistant yells that she quits and storms out. Save your money, y'all. Not worth your time. Go see someone who actually cares about their customers. I will never be back to Asana. read more

I went here for the first time yesterday because the reviews looked promising. It had a pleasant and calming atmosphere. However, this was by far the ROUGHEST manicure I've ever had in my entire life! The person made me bleed on 5 fingers. No discount was offered for making me bleed on both hands. He kept telling me I have dry cuticles, but at no point did he ever apply cuticle oil or moisturizer. I moisturize my hands daily, but with all of the frequent hand washing/sanitizing and living in a desert, of course they were on the dryer side than during normal times. He just kept sanding on my cuticles/nail beds with the machine with absolutely no moisturizer/oil applied whatsoever. I was in pain because it actually hurt. I had beautiful, natural nails before this, and with as much sanding as he did, they are ruined. 24 hours later, and my nails hurt. Not to mention, the finishing of my nails, where they clean up around/under the nails removing polish was done poorly/not at all. Even at the end of the manicure, no cuticle oil was ever applied. I really enjoyed my experience here. I've had acrylics for 2 almost 3 years now and they were lifting this last time pretty badly. I went in for a fill and was a bit upset when I was told I'd need to get a whole new set when they suggested SNS on my real nail since it was long enough I was worried they wouldn't be able to do the design I like with it and they assured me they could. I asked about price a few times and never got a set answer which I would say was the only really con of this salon. The yelp app also says if you check in your get 5% off but she let me know she was told not to use that anymore by her boss but was willing to call him and ask which is above and beyond.
