I can never remember to take a pic before eating half: good eggs Benedict & shredded potatoes.
    Robert M.

Stayed here and had breakfast. Yes, I was captive and in a hurry, so I overpaid for a mediocre meal. But it was kind of good. My go to breakfast splurge is the eggs Benedict and they hit the mark. I would definitely order it again if I wasn't interested in getting a muffin from the nearby coffee shop. Also came with a side of shredded breakfast potatoes. Again, not awesome but not bad.

Smoked Beef brisket sandwich - $11

This Marriott hotel is really hoppin and abuzzin on the weekdays anyway. I had a lunch in this restaurant and a nice, though somewhat fatty smoked beef brisket sandwich can be had here for $11. Other good looking offerings were the burgers, crab cakes, and fish and chips.

We were attending a conference in Naperville, and on the second day were too lazy (and full) to leave the hotel. This restaurant is just a small space next to the bar and we expected typical hotel food. The menu had enough different items to be able to fulfill most basic needs. The drink list was a little short, but- hotel. I had the salmon with a sweet pea risotto, mushrooms, pancetta, and some vegetables. I like my salmon well done, but this was burned. The pile of pancetta on top was also hard and burned. The vegetables and risotto were ok. My wife had a turkey blt with chips. The sandwich was a little on the soggy side. The homemade chips were also soggy and a little burnt tasting. The service was very good, my wife hadn't run out of soda yet and it was replaced without asking. Overall it's not the worst meal I've had at a hotel, but if you're really hungry there are plenty of dining choices a quick ride away.

The worst service! Staff was complacent, had to ask for everything. Waited to pay bill for 30 min. This is not worth it!

My stay at this hotel was just okay. The best part of the stay was the staff…read more The hotel building itself left a lot to be desired. We stayed in one of the panoramic rooms which was less luxurious than expected because of the sound of the highway and the views being mostly of a parking lot, highway and a pond. I had to sleep with AirPods in to drown out the sound of the highway. The breakfast selection was okay, some mornings better than others. (I especially liked the days with bacon!) Overall the stay was just okay, but I don't think I'd rebook here.

Major Operational Neglect -- Friendly Staff Can't Save a Crumbling Property…read more I always try to look for the silver lining, but my recent stay at this property was deeply concerning. While the front-line staff deserves a massive shout-out for being super responsive, friendly, and doing their absolute best under stressful conditions, the physical hotel itself is suffering from severe corporate neglect. It is nowhere near the standard or reputation I have come to expect from a Hyatt property. It is painfully obvious that this location is either transitioning ownership or preparing to close its doors permanently--an impression reinforced by the numerous photographers documenting the interior and exterior throughout my stay. The property feels entirely abandoned by management, and the staff is left holding the pieces, likely not knowing if each day will be their last. The operational and maintenance failures during my stay were extensive: Critical Infrastructure Breakdown: Two out of the three main guest elevators were completely out of service, causing massive delays. More concerningly, the service elevator featured a panel hanging precariously by a wire with an inspection letter attached to it. Active Water Damage: Management has resorted to placing literal buckets throughout the property to catch water actively dripping from the ceilings. Permanently Closed Amenities: The hot tub area is permanently closed and out of commission. Room Maintenance & Cleanliness Failures: Inside my room, the window curtains were visibly dirty, and the bathtub shower fixture leaked constantly. Scratched furniture and carpeting that was frayed and lifting at the corners. Missing/Broken In-Room Basics: The room lacked an ironing board entirely, and the iron that was provided had a broken tip, making it unusable. It is disheartening to see a brand name like Hyatt associated with a property that has been neglected for this long. If you are booking here expecting a premium, seamless experience, you will be disappointed. I deeply sympathize with the staff who show up every day to manage this infrastructure crisis, but from a guest perspective, this property is currently a shell of its former self.

In light of Rosh Hashanah, we were looking for Jewish places to eat and came across Schmaltz Deli…read more We never knew there was a Jewish deli in the area and boy were we missing out. As soon as we walked in, we knew it was going to be a great experience. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor tables available as well as a traditional deli counter. They also have a drive thru! You can choose to order at the counter or be seated with a more traditional restaurant-like service. Our waiter was young but very professional and provided great recommendations. To start, they bring a complimentary bowl of bagel chips (a unique twist and a great way to repurpose old bagels). For my meal, I had a half American sandwich with a bowl of matzo ball soup. It was simple but delicious. On our way out, we stopped at the deli and ordered a few rugelach. They tasted so fresh! My favorite was the apricot flavor. Definitely hope to be back real soon to support such a great spot! Shana Tova!

3.5 stars, but rounded up because I didn't feel they deserved any deduction…read more I was REALLY looking forward to their #20 Old New Yorker, which I got in their Navel Cut pastrami. It was a solid 7, which is why I place it at 3.5 stars. I may be being picky here but it just wasn't to the level of "melt-in-your-mouth" pastrami standards for me. Not to say it wasn't good, because it was perfectly fine. In fact, it's better than most of the pastrami sandwiches I tried in Chicagoland. Maybe it's the fact that I had to bring it back to the office to eat it, and half hour had gone by and pastrami weren't as warm and the Jewish rye had become soggy by the time I took the first bite. I mean, it goes without saying that the sandwich would have been 3 times better had I sat down immediately and had it. Again, all things considered, it was a perfectly good sandwich. One interesting thing was that I had never been to an establishment that included a half sour pickle instead of a normal one and gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised. Pickles can be a hit or a miss for me. I like my pickles to be crunch, but some places offer overripened ones that become borderline mushy. Schmaltz's half sour pickle was not overly salty or sour, making it very attractive for me. The more I'm thinking about it, I'm convinced that I'll have to go back and try their #14 Sloppy Paul, which is the corned beef with sauerkraut, which is another favorite of mine. And this time, I'll be sure to dine in and give another review of it to see how much I like them better.
