Came because it was a friend's favorite pizza place! Thought it was unique with the flavors. I got the artichoke pizza and it tasted like the artichoke spinach dip/chowder, which is very creamy! There was no line when we went. They don't have seatings inside, only a table. They have a small area for you to hang out and eat outside though.

Great spot to grab a slice! Artichoke pizza yumm Parking can just be a pain but overall it's a good spot for any time of the day

This was okay overall. The artichoke pizza was definitely my favorite. It was super creamy and flavorful, but it was really oily, which made it a bit heavy after a few bites. Honestly, all the slices we ordered were pretty oily. Service was quick and we got our slices pretty soon after ordering. There is seating outside with tiered steps and bench seating. The spot itself feels pretty run down and not very clean. It's definitely more casual and is good if you're looking to grab a quick slice or stop by after drinking. The location is also convenient because it's near Telegraph and you can easily shop and walk around before or after stopping here. Other than that, I'd probably choose another pizza spot if I were looking for a more elevated spot.

Came here around 1am on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy. They still had 3 or 4 pizza options despite it being so late. Artichoke Basille's Pizza hits the spot every time! I have come during the day too, and there is always a small line because of how good it is. Food: - Artichoke (Artichoke Hearts, Spinach, Cream Sauce, Mozzarella, and Pecorino Romano Cheese): 5/5 Possibly the best pizza I have ever had. I can't believe I was missing out of this pizza my whole life. Service: around a 5 minute wait for the pizza to be heated up and cashiers have always been friendly Pricing: $ so worth it for the size of the slice!! extremely filling! Ambiance: they added a lot of seating outside which is nice and they have parmesan/red pepper to use Parking: Sometimes there is street parking, but sometimes it is hard to find parking haha Would love to come back and try all of their pizzas!

Ordered and they heated up our pizza in the oven. Wait was pretty quick, about 3-5 minutes. My friend and I shared an artichoke pizza for snack and they had cut the pizza in half. It was creamy and cheesy. The crust was a good texture. I think it does need more artichoke slices on the pizza though. There's outdoor seating and a table inside that we ate at. Good late night snack.

I really wanted to like this place, but the quality just isn't there. If you do try it, only grab a slice if you see it coming fresh out of the oven, reheated slices are rough. I ordered a pepperoni slice and it was pretty bad. To make things worse, the guy serving had clearly been cleaning something in the back, came up with dirty hands, and still handled the pizza with bare hands. Not a good look. If you're going to try Artichoke Basille's, stick with their specialty slice, it's the only thing worth getting here. Everything else is a skip.

Conveniently located across the street from the Graduate, hotel and down the street from Top Dog. We were going to go to Blondies, but this just popped up next to us so we gave it a try. It's set up like Blondies, a counter with all the pizza's on display for you next to the cash register. I was surprised at how conscientious they are about cross contamination that they used a different pizza cutter with each pizza to do the initial slice off the pie. They had a few to choose from. Deep Dish Sicilian, sausage, probably peperoni, and artichoke with a white cream sauce. I almost got the artichoke, but I was afraid the cream sauce wouldn't agree with me so we got the one with basil and cheese on it. To be honest the pizzas don't look very appetizing just sitting there behind the counter. They are cold and have some grated cheese just on top of them. The slices also look small for $7.95. We picked out the basil with cheese slice and he slid it into the over. He asked if we wanted it in a box to go or on a plate. We opted for the plate as we were going to eat it right there at the walk up counter in front of the register. After about 4 minutes our pizza came out of the oven. He sliced it in 2 length wise and handed to us on a double plate as it was so long. Well, it looked bigger and much more appetizing after it came out of the oven. We each took a half, it was hot so we took our time. As it turns out the pizza was delicious. It was a very think crust and the cheese was gooey. I'm happy with our purchase. It was a good snack before we started our service project in downtown Berkeley. I recommend this pizza joint. The pizza is good size and comes out hot and delicious. The service is quick and very friendly. The server defiantly had a smile on his face the whole time.

A grab-and-go casual pizza stand that has huge slices and outdoor seating. We got the artichoke pizza, which is more of a white sauce cheesy slice that has an artichoke twang to it.

The slice DWARFS Costco pizza in comparison (which is crazy). It was like approaching deep dish thickness. The artichoke was a tender, unique touch to a pizza but it was too creamy and only was yummy when it was still hot. Then it got kind of gross. It was fine when reheated though. Also the dude lowkey eyeballed me before naming a price for water. The box also costs extra compared to the plate (makes sense) but I wish that had been disclosed to me before...

Get the artichoke pizza! The lines are typically long but worth the wait. Sometimes the pizza comes out still cold in the middle and I've seen some other customers get it twice baked.

Artichokes is one of Berkeley's most popular late night food spots! They're open until 2am (Sun-Thurs) and 3am (Fri and Sat) making it a great spot to go to after a night out or if you're just craving pizza later in the night. The line does get pretty long on busy nights after big events like concerts, but it tends to move pretty fast. I've tried their Artichoke, Margherita, and Vodka slices which are all solid choices. Each of their slices are huge and great for the price of ~$8! Personally, I find their pizzas to be a bit on the heavier side with their generous amounts of sauce, but great if you're in the mood for some mouth-watering greasy saucy pizza. They operate on a grab n go service, but there are seats and a few standing tables outside. Overall, definitely a pizza spot worth going to when you're in Berkeley!

I remember when this place first opened back when I was going to school here. It was notable since it was one of their first west-coast locations, and only a block away from where I lived. All these years later, it still hits the spot. If it's your first time, I would recommend going with their signature artichoke pizza. The slices are huge and priced accordingly ($8), but one slice is pretty much always enough to be a meal. It was great in the college days when you didn't want to commit to a whole pie, and even now it works as a grab-and-go option. It takes about 5 minutes for them to heat it up, but if you have the option, I'd recommend waiting for a fresh pizza to come out of the oven.

Perfect late night grub! I can ALWAYS depend on this spot after a long night out or concerts. There's not much to say about artichoke basille's besides the fact that no other pizza joint serves big pizza slices quite like them! Park in the nearby parking garage or you can find parking on the street! I arrived late night at around midnight on a weekday and found easy street parking.

Brief Summary: - Close to the Downtown Berkeley BART station…read more- Indoor and outdoor seating available - Right next to it there is a shop where you can purchase slices and ingredients Lately, this is the family's favorite pizza place. The first time we tried this was a few years ago, and one of my family members wanted to try a new place to eat pizza and had been exploring one almost once a month cadence. Then we tried here, and we were amazed and became our favorite. One of the reasons why we like going here more often than the other restaurants, the food of course, but the comfortable restaurant atmosphere. Still to this day we chose to walk-in and test our luck than take a reservation, and so far we were able to get a seat. In the most recent visit, there was a university game, so there was a longer wait time. The good thing about waiting was there were dedicated seats to wait, or in the first few minutes we hung out in the shop next door. Here, visitors can choose to buy and take home a slice instead of dining in, order food or shop for ingredients. The pizzas we've eaten so far are the Sicily style and this one has a lovely texture. Its appearance is like pillows. It's lightly-crispy on the edges, even the under-layer. It holds the pizza toppings without bending. We also tried a pizza named the most thinnest pizza, and we loved this one too. This one was located under the Speciality menu, so this didn't have topping customization. We loved that while it was very thin it still held the toppings too. I also love stracciatella cheese, so I also tasted the milkiness while eating this slice. We've also loved the pasta and have been trying a new menu each time. The one we tried recently had a fun texture, like a gentle crunch, and the pesto sauce was easy to eat, didn't get heavy in the end of the meal. I also tried a salad that was being served to most of the tables on this particular evening; a bowl of purple leafs, purple onions, and beets. The chicory leaf had a subtle bitterness to it, but with the sweet beet, it balanced it out. I also love goat cheese, and it was creamy. Wrapping up the review, it gave me a soft joy when the staff recognized and greeted us. The staff were kind and attentive since our first visit,, so his was another part that we liked during our eating experience. We'll definitely visit again when we're craving pizza.

I tried their pie for the first time, sharing a She Wolf pizza and spicy Caesar between our party of two. They strictly serve 14 inch thin crust pies, which is a decent amount of food split between 2, if you supplement with a starter course. The She Wolf, littered with olives and garlic confit, is sublime, and the dollops of burrata thoughtfully portioned on every slice make a rich, excellent contrast to the tangy sauce underneath. I'd imagine Portnoy being likely pleased with the undercarriage, which was stiff enough to not forfeit any of its structural integrity nor toppings to the almost-inevitable flop. The spicy Caesar is a damn good Caesar and not over nor under dressed. Next time, I'd add some anchovies. In Carrie Bradshaw fashion, I also indulged in a chilled red with my pizza this afternoon while people watching on their adorable patio. Is there really a better lunch to be had?

For the appetizers, we got the caprese salad ($19), cheesy garlic bread ($14), chicken wings ($18), and BBQ pork riblets ($18). The caprese salad was one of my favorites. The spring mix was super fresh, and even though I'm not the biggest cheese fan, I really liked the fresh mozzarella. The vinaigrette had the perfect balance of sweet and tangy flavors, making this a great spring or summer salad. The BBQ pork riblets and chicken wings were both a little dry. I liked the seasoning on the riblets, while the chicken wings were a bit lighter in flavor. The cheesy garlic bread was, as expected, super cheesy! I didn't realize the roasted garlic was served on the side, and personally wasn't the biggest fan of its flavor, but the focaccia itself had a great texture. We also shared the Aries ($22), Mercury ($21), and Cassiopeia ($25) pizzas. The Aries was a classic pepperoni pizza with a nice thin crust, and the Mercury was a margherita pizza. I liked the fresh tomatoes, although I wish there had been more basil. The Cassiopeia was my favorite of the three, and I can definitely see why it's so popular. The BBQ sauce was super flavorful and paired really well with the chicken and onions. Jupiter has a lively atmosphere and a really nice outdoor patio with live music, making it a fun spot for group dinners. I'd recommend making a reservation if you're coming with a larger group.
