We stopped here for lunch and loved it! The atmosphere was great, the service was great, and the food was awesome! If you go to Art's, you've gotta try one of their amazing burgers. I had the Baja Burger and it was top-notch! My husband had the Western Burger and raved about it the entire time he was eating it and after. Not only are their burgers delicious, but their fresh, hand cut fries are AMAZING!!!! You won't be disappointed and you shouldn't leave hungry since then portions are generous. read more

This is a little spot but it looks like it can churn out some food and drink. Went here on a Saturday morning to grab breakfast and some drinks (it was my buddy's bachelor party weekend) and it was already crowded. Had to sit at the bar but the service was quick and friendly and the food was pretty good. They have a full bar so I dove right into drinking Hurricanes, which I believe is their claim to fame. Had a few of those and they definitely "woke" me up. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit but it's a little tight. I'd recommend it, though, since the place seems lively and the drinks are plentiful. We went for dinner, we ordered hamburgers, a Reuben sandwich and I had the chicken salad on toasted bread instead of a wrap. The burgers were huge, the Reuben was too much to finish and the chicken salad was put on two thick pieces of sourdough. I couldn't finish my sandwich. Around 8pm a live small band played jazzy music. The place is small & very intimate. It was filled with locals who made you feel welcome. The staff were very pleasant and on the ball. We all loved what we ordered so much at dinner we went back to Art's Place for breakfast. One thing you'll never do is walk out of Art's hungry. I've never seen biscuits as big as they make and they make them on a daily basis. Everything is fresh and bought from local farmers/bakeries. If you go to Kitty Hawk and you don't visit Art's Place you'll have missed a great meal, great live music and great atmosphere. read more

Who wouldn't want to eat Breakfast outside in a comfortable chair with an ocean view in the month of May? The house across the street has a charming front yard. Tilt your head to the right and there is the beautiful ocean. The exterior of the building was painted in eye catching colors. I love the colorful walls. The scenes create such a fun environment and a photo opportunity. My struggle with breakfast in the OBX is finding an egg white omelet. Thanks to Art's Place, I started my day with delicious egg whites, mushrooms and spinach. 3 of us ordered an omelet at $6 or $8 each. 2 ordered coffee and 1 ordered cranberry juice. How did we end up with a $39 bill? The prices for juice and coffee were not listed on the menu. Shame on me for not asking. read more

We came here for Sunday breakfast due to the great reviews. We came with one baby and four adults. The place is very small. Excellent location right across on the beach but difficult parking. The place was very busy and understaffed. I gave the place an extra star because I saw the waitresses working hard. It took 45 min to get our food. We ordered the country ham egg breakfast, French toast, wrapped omelette and made a veggie omelette. The ham was rock solid, couldn't get a bite without breaking a tooth. We tried to cut it with a knife but it wasn't possible. The french toast was soggy. The hashbrowns were burnt. The biscuits were pretty good. They forgot the wrapped omelette but with a baby, we couldn't wait another 30 to 40 min. I would not come back. I would say that this is a place for people who are hungover, can't drive somewhere, and want to sit by the beach. read more

Ordered crab cake sandwiches, fries and onion rings which were all very good. Crab cake sandwich was different than usual with a Thai basil coconut taste, so if you're looking for something different in your crab cake this is it. Perfect way to start my birthday! Breakfast was on point. I had the delicious sausage biscuits and gravy and yummy mimosa, my husband had a custom omelette and the best Bloody Mary he has ever had (not pictured). The inside of the restaurant is very small, 4 tables during COVID. We went in the winter time so due to our party size, there were 12 of us, we had to sit outside, which was rather cold. With that being said, the burgers were amazing, jalapeños were fresh and not canned and our waitress, did an excellent job coming out into the cold to check on us. read more

A great greasy spoon right by the beach. I though my pimento burger with jalapeños and bacon with fries for $10 was great. I recommend that you get a fun burger with different toppings like the pimento or the carolina with chili on top of the burger etc. Otherwise might as well get a burger from five guys. I love five guys and I would not have been able to distinguish between the two in a blind taste test. The fries are also pretty similar, come to think of it. Service is not particularly friendly but I think they are super busy and accustomed to dealing with a no-nonsense local crowd. Parking was crummy until we were told that there was an overflow parking lot (by a big blue building that was directly through the back of the parking lot. I think it might have been a mortgage company (we went for dinner so it would have been off hours for the business). You might want to call to confirm the parking lot situation because maybe it was only for a holiday weekend. read more

Would have helped to have one person taking names, busing tables and seating people. Wife ordered French toast and bacon. The fresh fruit with it was nice but the French toast seemed to be soaked in the batter too long and not cooked thru. The middle was really soggy. I think my wife gets French toast everywhere we go and this wasn't cooked all the way. I got eggs, home fries and bacon. My meal wasn't that bad. I can't say don't go but I can't say we will be back. Very solid local burger place - at the recommendations of my parents, I stopped by for a pimento cheese burger at lunch time, and was not disappointed. The burgers are thin, I'd call them kind of diner style, cooked on a flattop in plain view. They're tender with nice crispy outside, and a good amount of seasoning and good beef flavor - I'll take this over than normal half pound mega patty. Add to the the delicious cheese and bacon, and I'm all set. Fries are good - the sort of "dry style" that I like, although I think they could use a little more seasoning. And although I did not indulge, the beer list is pretty decent too - I think all cans/bottles, I didn't see any taps, but maybe I'm just forgetting. In any case, this goes on the list for future visits. The menu is actually surprisingly large for this soft of a place, so I want to try some of the other burger options, since that makes up the majority of the menu. read more

We came in for dinner after running the marathon. I wasn't super excited when I saw the menu was just sandwiches and burgers. I kind of wanted more of a meal meal. But the group picked and I went along. I am so glad I did! I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and a salad. Both were absolutely perfect and truly hit the spot. My son liked his burger so much that he ordered a second one and ate 2/3 of that one too!! Usually he leaves most of his meal behind so when he wants to eat something we let him have at it. So my picky 8 year old wants me to be sure and mention this is the best burger(s) he's ever had. Ever. I have to agree it was a top 10 burger for me too! Stopped in for Breakfast at Art's Place on a long road trip from New York to Charleston, and sitting on the balcony, above the restaurant, looking over the beach on a stunning weekday morning was one of my favourite memories from the whole trip. If you can think of a better way to start your day than going for an early morning swim and then following that up with a plate full of crispy bacon, sunny side up eggs, perfectly seasoned home fries and a homemade biscuit then I would love to hear it. Stopped in for breakfast, we were seated right away very friendly staff. I had the south of border omelette but substituted for egg whites. It was so good! I can understand if this was during the peak season for beach goers but it's not that packed here and most of the tables in the patio area are empty.
