We came here during the summer and loved it! Back again this January for my birthday weekend and this is definitely our new favorite joint. We've only had breakfast and that was Awesome! Small hometown diner kinda feel and lots of locals. Be prepared tho it's tiny. There's a bar with table seating and like maybe 5 or 6 tables. All in all a solid 3. Most certainly a place for locals, and being a new local - it has a nice...well local feel to it. Inside seating is limited, bottle beer and full bar, and the staff there is super friendly. Lots of burger choices, and all in all the burgers are good. One thing to note, their burgers are cooked to medium meaning there is pink in the middle; if that is not for you make sure to tell them you'd like yours more towards well done. The fries, the night we were there, could have gone for a longer fry to get more of the crispy edges. Onion rings and Jalapeno Poppers, while good are fried out of the bag frozen and would be WAY WAY WAY better made fresh. The classic question is would we be back - being a local these days I would say yes we will certainly be back. It is the kind of friendly place to have a good burger and a beer or two. read more

Art's is a must try if you're in or around Kitty Hawk! Hole in the wall joint with stellar burgers and delicious hearty breakfast meals! Also a good place to go chill out for a couple beers and sit up in the rooftop deck overlooking the ocean across the street. They used to have corn hole in the front parking area but dos away with it. They definitely need to bring that back as that was a pull for my father in law and I. Cool spot and a must try! read more

Breakfast hours aren't long enough on a weekend (until 10:45 am). Then it took until noon to be able to place an order for lunch. BLT was pretty hefty but sweet tea was awful and certainly not representative of NC sweet tea. Must have been something store bought. Little but mighty! We stumbled upon Art's Place while looking for a 'last night at the beach' dinner. We were NOT disappointed! The indoor seating was limited (it was pouring rain) but the porch seating area looked cute. The burgers were amazing, so much flavor and very juicy. The fries are fresh cut, and so good. After a week of seafood I decided to switch it up and go for the rueben wrap, a solid choice. The service was great and the waitresses were very sweet. We will definitely be back. read more

This is a little spot but it looks like it can churn out some food and drink. Went here on a Saturday morning to grab breakfast and some drinks (it was my buddy's bachelor party weekend) and it was already crowded. Had to sit at the bar but the service was quick and friendly and the food was pretty good. They have a full bar so I dove right into drinking Hurricanes, which I believe is their claim to fame. Had a few of those and they definitely "woke" me up. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit but it's a little tight. I'd recommend it, though, since the place seems lively and the drinks are plentiful. Literally stumbled on Art's Place a few years back and it has become a must do every trip to OBX since. Nothing fancy but the burgers are big and juicy with enough fries to share and seasoned just right. Add a beer or 3 and an always personable and attentive staff and you will definitely leave satisfied and happy. So make this "hole in the wall" your go too place for your burger fix. We went for dinner, we ordered hamburgers, a Reuben sandwich and I had the chicken salad on toasted bread instead of a wrap. The burgers were huge, the Reuben was too much to finish and the chicken salad was put on two thick pieces of sourdough. I couldn't finish my sandwich. Around 8pm a live small band played jazzy music. The place is small & very intimate. It was filled with locals who made you feel welcome. The staff were very pleasant and on the ball. We all loved what we ordered so much at dinner we went back to Art's Place for breakfast. One thing you'll never do is walk out of Art's hungry. I've never seen biscuits as big as they make and they make them on a daily basis. Everything is fresh and bought from local farmers/bakeries. If you go to Kitty Hawk and you don't visit Art's Place you'll have missed a great meal, great live music and great atmosphere. read more

We came here for Sunday breakfast due to the great reviews. We came with one baby and four adults. The place is very small. Excellent location right across on the beach but difficult parking. The place was very busy and understaffed. I gave the place an extra star because I saw the waitresses working hard. It took 45 min to get our food. We ordered the country ham egg breakfast, French toast, wrapped omelette and made a veggie omelette. The ham was rock solid, couldn't get a bite without breaking a tooth. We tried to cut it with a knife but it wasn't possible. The french toast was soggy. The hashbrowns were burnt. The biscuits were pretty good. They forgot the wrapped omelette but with a baby, we couldn't wait another 30 to 40 min. I would not come back. I would say that this is a place for people who are hungover, can't drive somewhere, and want to sit by the beach. read more

Tilt your head to the right and there is the beautiful ocean. The exterior of the building was painted in eye catching colors. I love the colorful walls. The scenes create such a fun environment and a photo opportunity. My struggle with breakfast in the OBX is finding an egg white omelet. Thanks to Art's Place, I started my day with delicious egg whites, mushrooms and spinach. 3 of us ordered an omelet at $6 or $8 each. 2 ordered coffee and 1 ordered cranberry juice. How did we end up with a $39 bill? The prices for juice and coffee were not listed on the menu. Shame on me for not asking. read more

Would have helped to have one person taking names, busing tables and seating people. Wife ordered French toast and bacon. The fresh fruit with it was nice but the French toast seemed to be soaked in the batter too long and not cooked thru. The middle was really soggy. I think my wife gets French toast everywhere we go and this wasn't cooked all the way. I got eggs, home fries and bacon. My meal wasn't that bad. I can't say don't go but I can't say we will be back. Perfect way to start my birthday! Breakfast was on point. I had the delicious sausage biscuits and gravy and yummy mimosa, my husband had a custom omelette and the best Bloody Mary he has ever had (not pictured).
