Very cool atmosphere, but the wait for our food was very long and food didn't meet our expectations. Obviously since we came during the dinner rush a wait is expected, however after an hour our party got impatient. We ordered our burgers medium, and they came out well done. If you ever go to The Foxfire Grill at Snowshoe Resort West Virginia, don't get the burger. Worst burger I've ever had. I stopped at Arts Place today at 1:00 and sat up at outside bar up top. A gentlemen walked up to bar ordered a drink and then took of his ice pack that he was wearing under his t-shirt off and asked bar tender who he seem to know and asked her to put it on ice. She wraps it in a kitchen towel then puts it in the huge ice bin that she would be making drinks with!!!! I had the pimento burger and it was FANTASTIC. Melty goodness. The view on the upper patio was great, especially with the sea breeze coming in. Service is great too! Friendly and quick. My singular gripe with the place is the unholy number of flies hovering around the outdoor seating areas -- particularly the one right out front. Otherwise, great food and great service! read more

I ordered the pimento burger - 8 oz of fresh beef grilled to perfection, grilled jalapeños, and melted pimento cheese with hand cut fries - all for $9.99! Try to freaking beat that! Top it off with $1.50 PBR's and you're looking at the best value and tastiest lunch in the OBX! Damn I wish there was a place like this around Annapolis! Then again, maybe not - I'd weigh 400 pounds! DAMN! The food here is delicious. We were here on spring break and tried several restaurants in the area...by far, the food at Art's place is the best. We had a half order of the French toast, scrambled eggs with breakfast potatoes, and a biscuit, the pancakes (which was such a huge serving could feed a small country), and the egg and cheese biscuit. EVERYTHING was amazing. This is certainly a local's place, but they treated us well even though we are tourists. read more

I ordered the special, popeye burger.. goat cheese, spinach, walnuts.. sounds insane but it was incredible.. the reason why I gave 4 instead of 5 are the fries.. they weren't fresh or hot.. but everything else was incredible. read more

A must try when you visit the Outer Banks. Service was very friendly and attentive. The burgers and dogs were excellent. Portions were generous. We will definitely return on our next trip. This cozy happy little place has a nice locals-feel. We sat at the bar and ordered breakfast. I got the Corned Beef Hash, Home Fries, eggs scrambled with cheese & a Biscuit. My husband got the Bacon & Eggs with Home Fries and a Biscuit. We sat waiting for our food and checked out the decor. My husband was intrigued by the wall of foreign currency and the photo of Ric Flair (WOOOOO!) Food came out pretty quickly and was very tasty. We were both really impressed with the Home Fries! They had big chunks of potato, green peppers and onions and were seasoned just right. The Biscuits were amazing! We were so full because we couldn't stop eating! read more

As Sally wrote back in July, this is the perfect breakfast spot and right across the street from on the beach with great prices. The Egg Sandwich is probably the best deal on the island. Large white bread(seemed like sour dough) and plenty of egg and cheese for less than $3. I had the 2 eggs with toast and home fries for less than $5. They have awful coffee but that is of no matter. Really, the food is perfect every time. The home fries are wonderful. If you are tired of expensive tourist traps, this is your spot. Not touristy at all. Plenty of locals which seals the deal for me. Art's Place is awesome. Kind of hate to give it such a good review because love the fact I got a seat each time I visited. read more

So fun finding this really "locals" place. Because of the weather, only the inside was open and was full, but roomy enough to not feel cramped. Can see the appeal of all the outside space in good weather and ocean views. Open kitchen and small bar. Efficient service and pleseant. We both had burgers and they were delicious. We really enjoyed Art's! We sat on the front porch which was lovely as it is so close to the beach. I had a tomato and mushroom omelette and my boyfriend had their Southwestern omelette (I think-it was the one with jalapeños.) The omelets were good and very full. We were here for the weekend with our two kids. We stopped in on a Saturday for breakfast about 9am. The place is tiny with limited seating so we had to stand by the door waiting. Don't Bother I ordered a bacon cheeses burger and my wife ordered a Ruben. The burger was not fresh and was a frozen patty before cooked on a greasy grille. The hamburger bun was soaked in grease and the only semblance of favor came from the bacon. The warm french fries were soggy and limp, obviously they were stored under a warming heat lamp. The Ruben was void of thousand island dressing and the corn beef was mystery meat. $28.00 for a bacon cheeseburger and Ruben - what a waste of money! read more

Felt discriminated. I understand this place is super busy. I waited 45 mins standing by their small hallway. There was no in line for take out orders. Except for me and another lady in front of me. After a while of waiting. The tall guy took the order of the other lady. He said he'll be back to get my orders. After 45 mins they just kept walking by past me & stared at me. I asked the pregnant lady twice if I can just place my orders and come back. Kept saying yes but never did. People who just came in for dining in got served first.
