I love this place and have been coming here for several years now. Arroyo Cleaners is my one-stop neighborhood shop for dry-cleaning, ironing, repairs and alterations. They do an excellent job with every item. Stacy and her husband are lovely people, extremely nice, polite, and respectful. They are very hardworking and they always do their absolute best for you. In addition, they are completely upfront and transparent about what they and their business can or can't do. I appreciate that quality of honesty. It helps me save time and money. If you have questions about how a service is priced, they can answer all your questions and are very transparent about it. Like many businesses, they outsource some services to other service providers who have certain specialties or limitations. If their outside service providers have limitations, they always let you know. Additionally, if you do a comparison of their prices with other similar businesses, their prices are often lower for the same job. They are very responsive. If you have a concern, they are very interested in hearing it. They always want to do their best for you, so I treat them with that level of gratitude and politeness whenever I have any concerns, questions, or issues about any of the items or services. I am open about having concerns, I don't expect them to read my mind. They are very easy to deal with. Our conversations are always efficient, productive, pleasant, and professional. For example, they will tell you if something will be more expensive than you anticipated, and they will also tell you why. For instance, sometimes items are extremely heavy, or extremely dirty, or the job is very complicated, and they will tell you all the reasons why that might factor into price. It's common sense. So I always bring all my dry cleaning here, as well as regular ironing. I bring my tailoring and repairs. Stacy is knowledgeable and can give me her professional advice on what I should do and whether she can help me. I feel she is not only a professional, but also a neighbor and a part of my community. I've been coming here for about 10 years, even while I lived inTopanga! I would save up my drycleaning and drop it off whenever I came to visit my mom in the SGV. Quality: unbeatable. Other than the usual clothing items, I've dropped off drapes with dog pee (boyfriend's dog), rugs with dog pee (my dog), vintage leather jackets, and random other items I just couldn't clean myself. The quality is impeccable -- my stuff always comes out looking brand new and neatly pressed. Price: it's average priced here, but it's super cheap if you think about the quality. I've taken stuff to cheapie places more convenient to where I live, but I've always regretted it b/c I oftentimes think they don't really clean my clothes. I've also taken stuff to more expensive places like French Laundry, only to regret paying $20 to get sweat stains removed from 1 shirt (which they couldn't do). Service: the same people have been working here since I started going. I've also called to see if they'd stay open 5 min later (if I was running late to pick up), and they've always been nice to accomodate. Oh, and the reason I'm writing this today... pretty unbelievable. I had a few buttons that were coming loose from my favorite cardigan b/c my pup had tried chewing them off. I had planned on sewing the buttons on tighter after I got the cardigan drycleaned. I was amazed and shocked that the folks at Arroyo had taken the initiative to sew the buttons on for me, without charging me extra! They said they'd done it b/c they were afraid that they'd get lost in the cleaning process. Customer for life. read more

If I could give them rating of 5 negative stars, I would. I went here after reading the positive reviews from Yelp. I dropped off a scarf & wool sweater to be dry cleaned and a pair of pants to be shortened. A few days later, I picked them up thinking everything would be find. To my horror, my wool sweater shrunk by two sizes. I'm a small and my sweater is a medium (very loose on me). Sadly, now the sweater is actually tight and the arms are extremely short. Also, the scarf smelled funky, so I'm not sure that it's actually been cleaned. Finally, the icing on the cake- the simple hemming of a pair of pants was botched in a way i couldn't have ever predicted. The hem was all over the place and the hemline was double stitched in random places. I gave them some slack and thought maybe it's a fluke. I gave them an opportunity to fix the hem and i asked them what they can do on the sweater. The said they would stretch it out by steaming it. Steam heat and wool sounds like a disaster to me. So, I chose to leave just the pants. I picked up the pants today and found they made the pants shorter and the hem was crooked again. Do you know what their response to that was? First they deny that it's not crooked. I took a ruler to it to show that the hemline was curving and not straight. Unable to deny the evidence, they responded: "It's not going to be perfect and that looks fine to us. Also, it's only 8 dollars to hem, this is what an $8 hem is. Go to Bryan's across the street, they're $12." There are so many things wrong with that response. I don't even want to get into it. I went to Bryan's. They were actually $6 and they fixed the hem perfectly. Arroyo Cleaners should remember a lower price doesn't equal low quality. They're not exceptionally cheap. Actually they're just competitive. I've never had any problems with other dry cleaners and I've never paid exorbitantly for dry cleaning. If you like being ripped off and ruining your clothes, you should go here. I used to live in Pasadena, and still have some good friends there that I visit pretty regularly. Whenever I go to Pasadena, I make sure to drop off any alterations and dry cleaning to the nice folks at Arroyo Cleaners. They've been cleaning my clothes, and making them look good on me for the past 10 years or so. During that time, I've never had any lost or damaged items, and the alterations (usually for hemming jeans, pants, or sleeves) have always come as expected. The owners are a nice Korean couple, and always treat me with respect. They recognize my car when I park, and have my clothes ready for me when I walk in. The place itself looks like your typical dry cleaners, nothing fancy; it's located in a little strip mall off Arroyo before it turns into the 110S. The prices are absolutely reasonable as well. They do a very detailed job and our clothes are always perfect. They check everywhere for spots without you asking, so no need for red tape everywhere to mark spots. They clean and press garments exceptionally well. One of the best cleaners I've used, a little pricier that what I'm used to, but the quality is better than the cheaper ones. This place was super convenient for me after work. Even though I've moved, and it's no longer is convenient, I'll still patronize them. They do a great job, and are very conscientious. Generally, I tend to wait until I have a backbreaking carload of drycleaning, and they haven't lost any of my clothes yet! Once in a great while, they seem to feel they need a do-over, and they're up front about it. I'm more than happy to come back and pick it up later. They completely ripped the lace and didn't tell me about! I went back to show her and she said she didn't know it was ripped, wtf?! I was charged full price. They are so friendly, remember my name and phone number and have my clothes ready and waiting at the front on the day they are supposed to be ready (even when I am a day or two late in picking them up). I work in Pasadena and live in West LA (so I have many choices when it comes to dry cleaners). I have been using them for 5 years and have never had any issue. On the contrary, they go out of their way to give great service. The little adjustable fasteners on the straps of my dress had cracked. They pointed it out to me and replaced them...FOR FREE! There was only one layer of lace on the top half and the bottom half was one solid material with no train. The dress was not even dirty and they did not wrap or preserve it specially. I have been to more than a dozen plus different dry cleaners due to moving and job location changes, etc. By far, this is one of the best places I have been to and probably the most reasonably priced. I have had multiple pairs of pants hemmed and let down at Arroyo Cleaners, and all have been completed to my satisfaction. I was actually surprised when I read some of the other reviews. My order is always done in a timely manner (usually 2 days max), and they are very friendly and honest. I had a very large order to pick up once and was unaware they have coupons on thier website. They told me to print out the coupon next time but they still gave me the discount on my order with out having the coupon that day. They have been my Cleaners now for almost a year and I go to them regularly. They are great! Go to their website for Coupons!! I generally avoid buying too many clothes which require dry cleaning, but when I do need to get something dry cleaned, this is the place I've been going. They seem to be pretty meticulous, and they're reasonably priced. I did dock two stars because they got a little overzealous with a spot removal on my favorite dress and removed some of the color on the patterned dress. I do appreciate them trying to get the spot out and I understand how sometimes you can overdo things. This wouldn't have been such a problem, but when I pointed it out, they first tried to accuse me of spilling bleach on the dress (even though you could see the faint outline of the original dark stain) which I did not very much appreciate. That said, they do seem to do a pretty good job, so I'd recommend them if anyone was looking for a dry cleaner which would get their clothes clean. read more

If you care about your clothes at all, you will not bring it to these people. First time coming here last week. Dropped off a silk blouse to be dry cleaned and a dress to be hemmed. Silk blouse did not have stains when I dropped it off, I just figured i should finally have it cleaned since i had worn it a few x's already. When I picked it up I was shocked to see two 1/2 inch diameter brown stains on the sleeve. They kept denying fault. And as if that weren't enough, when i tried on my dress when i got home, it was hemmed 2 inches shorter than the length I originally had it pinned to. Now the dress can not be worn. They refused to reimburse me too. Never again will i go back and you all should STAY AWAY. read more

I have been coming to Arroyo cleaners for a while now because they are close by. A few times I've bought shirts on ebay and taken them here afterwards. They looked very nice. Then I actually bought a few tops at the Salvation army, and when I went to pick them up, they looked brand new. Very friendly and quick. Check out their coupons on line. First time customers get a pretty big discount. The reason that they get a four instead of a five is because I took a couple of jeans there once and they came back with smudges of something on them. read more

After moving out of the area, I realized that not all facilities are as friendly and trustworthy. So at first I took my workpants to Arroyo, and they did a great job; no shrinking, and they got out stains at the bottom (and the pleat was crisp). Then I took my silk tops, and I got them back good as new. I have had bad experiences at other dry cleaners, but this place has been consistently good with all of my pieces.
