My experience with Concierge Cleaners was awful. I found them to be incompetent, dishonest and unwilling to reimburse for clothes they ruined. Here is why: Our home was damaged in the Eaton Fire. Our clothes were smoke damaged and had to be professionally cleaned. Our remediation company recommended Concierge Cleaners. In hindsight, I suspect they got a kickback "Shane," (as he calls himself, is apparently the owner of Concierge Cleaners) picked up the hundreds of items to be cleaned. We were unable to live in our house for months, so the transfer of clothes was chaotic. After numerous requests, "Shane" finally gave an estimate which was far less than the amount ($2,533) that they ultimately billed. Among the clothes Concierge took were several expensive coats and suits. We obviously expected them to by dry cleaned. Instead, Concierge threw them in the wash with the underwear and t-shirts. Literally, they were put in a washing machine which ruined the fine wool, then put in a dryer which shrank them. Then they were tightly folded and wrapped with the laundry. The suits and coats were obviously ruined. When we informed "Shane" what happened we assumed he would act professionally and offer to compensate for the damage. When mistakes happen people with integrity take responsibility. But integrity is not "Shane's" strong suit. First he denied ever having the suits and coats. Then he claimed they could be fixed by dry cleaning them. That did not work since the fabric was already ruined and the suits shrunk two sizes. I told "Shane" we would be satisfied if Concierge paid just a fraction of the cost of replacing the suits. We have a lot going on trying to make our house habitable after the fire and don't have time to mess with an incompetent and dishonest dry cleaner. Unfortunately, Shane stopped responding and is now unreachable. So now we have to haul this clown into small claims court to get him to pay for the damage he caused. I have lived in the Pasadena area a long time and know there are good and reputable dry cleaners. Concierge is not one of them. If you want someone who does not know that fine wool suits have to be dry cleaned, lies about what happened to your clothes, and refuses to compensate you when he ruins your best clothes, then you will love "Shane" and Concierge Cleaners. read more

I decided to give Concierge Cleaners a shot after reading some of the reviews, as well as contacting other dry cleaning services in the area. First of all, the prices are pretty reasonable, being much lower than some of the other options in the Pasadena / Altadena area. When I called Concierge to inquire about prices, the man on the phone told me Men's Suits were $17 and dress shirts were $5. It sounded like a pretty good deal compared to other cleaners, so I dropped off two suits and two dress shirts on a Tuesday afternoon. The woman at the counter was very friendly and gave me a receipt ticket in which she instructed me to "ignore the date on the ticket" and that I "would receive a text when my items were ready for pickup." A few other women were in the small storefront having alterations done, should you choose to utilize that service offering. Two days later, on Thursday, I received the text that my clothes were ready. I headed over to pick up my clothing and inspected everything. The dress shirts looked fine, pressed and hung neatly. One of my suits had a small white powder stain on the front sleeve, but it came off quickly with a moist towel. The other suit looked great and everything seemed to be fine with the rest of my order. However, the final bill was $49 plus tax ($50.72 all in), which didn't match up precisely with what the gentlemen quoted me over the phone. However, it was close enough so I decided to pay the bill and not make a fuss. Obviously, there is some discrepancy with the pricing, as it wasn't listed online. I could have been a stickler for the extra $5, but I decided not to make a big deal of it as one of the other dry cleaners nearby quoted a price of over $40 for a suit cleaning. Parking is sometimes difficult in the small strip mall, with Fluffy Puppy and Captain Tobacco customers. However, there is a dedicated two spaces directly in front of the store for a quick in-and-out visit to the Concierge. A good option for dry cleaning in the area for a first visit. read more

On 10/29 my husband bought me a pair of wide leg pants I needed to wear at event on 10/31. I took them in to Ankine on 10/30, she was extremely busy: but because of the urgency of my situation, she had them ready at the end of the day! The pants fit perfectly!! Today I picked up my wool coat I had dropped off 1 week ago to have dry cleaned. When I initially dropped it off I noticed the collar tag was very dingy as you can see in the picture. I noticed the dinginess on the collar tag was still there when I picked it up today and when I asked the young lady why was it still dingy she said that part did not come off cuz it's stained. I was not satisfied with her answer and when I got home I attempted to wipe off the collar tag myself with bar soap and water and the dinginess immediately came off. I'm so disappointed with place had to leave a bad review because i have taken 3 different coats in the past and now I can't help but to think they did not even dry clean them correctly. read more

I've brought a few items here, including a vintage leather jacket that needed a button tightened down and cleaned. They outsource the leather cleaning and it isn't cheap, but they do a wonderful job. The leather cleaning takes a week. They do have a tailor on site which is super helpful and she also re-attached a few buttons on a wool coat for me. They're courteous here and I've really liked the work that they do. The location is convenient as well - there are other businesses right around there that serve good food in case you get the munchies while you are doing errands. read more

I decided to go to this place because of the high reviews. The first time went fine. But the second time I brought in a heavy jacket. When I got it back, it was stained on the front so the jacket now had a light green discoloration. I inquired with the person there, and she refused to do anything about it. So I recently found a black suede jacket in a vintage store over in Claremont Village .... super cute and it fit perfectly, so it was meant to be. The only issue was that it had a funny odor, and it had a couple of areas that could use some additional cleaning. So I called around to several places and surprisingly not too many places clean suede and leather anymore but I contacted this place and they quoted me a price of $50. So I took it in along with a few other items that needed some dry cleaning, and I have to say they did an amazing job on the jacket. The smell was gone, and it almost looked brand new. Man, there's a few issues with this business. The front desk worker declines to answer any questions about your items if something is wrong, she basically blames it on the fact that items don't get cleaned at this location and that the owner isn't here so whatever you're asking she answers "I don't know" and she just brushes you off and gets angry. The main thing for me is I hate dishonest businesses. If you messed up admit it and don't make things up that are irrelevant to cover up your mess. Plus the photos in the gallery aren't even real, so it was my mistake to just go by good reviews, my advise is to always look at the gallery to see the before and afters before you drop your items off because otherwise you're risking getting your stuff damaged without getting a refund. read more

The tailor here, Ankine, is magic! I needed two dresses altered for my engagement photos in a short time frame, one of which was a vintage 1950s dress. She had great ideas about how to make the dresses flattering and how to preserve the integrity of design in the vintage dress. She completed the alterations in time for the photo shoot, and I was thrilled with the results! It's tough to find a good tailor, and often tailors at dry cleaners can be subpar. I was a little taken aback considering most dry cleaning places are super nice. Kinda wanted to walk out at that point but felt like I walked in here and now I'm stuck. It was my first time there and she asked me to write my name and number to create an account then as she entered my name into her computer, proceeded to get it wrong like 5x!!! Asked them to have items ready on a Friday morning - they agreed and even listed Thursday on the pickup time on receipt. I show up FRIDAY 11am and lady says no it won't arrive until 2pm. I tell her that's not what we did discussed and SHE gets upset. Says "Is this your first time here?!" Not sure what that matters...instead she never apologized and says if you want it now you need to drive to Montrose a couple cities away. So here i go wasting time and gas because it's their fault. I go occasionally for dry cleaning but I go more for alteration, Ankin the sewing Lady is very expert,on top of regular alteration services she did change my clothes and turned them into fun wearing pieces ,some boring dresses Ankin turned them into different designs, all professionally done with excellent finishings. She never says it cannot be done ,"no"is not in her dictionary,she could even manage to repair clothings u love and cherish and give them back to you brand new ,like one time my faux furr white jacket that was stained by red lipstick,she helped me to find a matching patch and was able to replace that ruined shoulder patch and I got my beautiful furr jacket back like a brand new one only for $20.Her prices are so reasonable all listed in details at her place .I highly recommend this place excellent customer service, smily faces ,I feel like home. read more

I would suggest everyone take the time to inspect every single piece of clothing before you leave this location. I didn't - I just took my husband's suits and hung them straight in the closet. He took both out of the dry cleaning bags today to wear to a wedding and found them both destroyed. FIVE-STAR REVIEW FOR THE TAILOR, ANKINE: Quick background: Clothing often don't fit me off the rack, especially suits. In the last several decades, I have worked with many tailors in the LA area and have been willing to drive further if I meet one that does a great job and knows the craft. I've been recommended to many tailors that are known in their field in Beverly Hills, San Marino, low key family-owned shops, areas with good pricing and skills, and MANY others where I've paid anywhere from tens of dollars to hundreds per jacket/item and have many times felt the pain of my wallet and vowed to never buy anything that doesn't come close to fitting me, and resort to only buying custom tailored suits. There are some good tailors out there, but eventually I stopped going to them usually for the same reason - they tried selling me on tailored items that didn't create the fit that I want and kept trying to sell me their craftsmanship when there were clearly mistakes that they've overlooked and did not focus on customer service consistently. Consistency is key in any business. I have always been appreciative of tailors who meet the intentions we aim to achieve, ie. We get clothing tailored to a reasonable degree, the tailor agrees to the job (and assuming we don't gain or lose a ton of weight), we should expect the fit to meet the desired standards. Ankine, the tailor who works inside this local dry cleaning spot is worth every penny. She is so highly skilled in everyday hems and suit tailoring, as well as ladies' dresses or gowns. Most importantly, she CONSISTENTLY delivers on her craft. I'd drive miles across town to go to her. It's been almost 7 years and still counting. Unlike other tailors, her pricing is unambiguous, fair, and there is a small sign with pricing on her dressing/closet door for transparency. She's also quick with turnaround times, is not entitled or trying to sell you her craft (her skills speak for itself), and I absolutely love her as a kind person. For those of you who have already paid $$$$ for amazing suits, don't feel like you need to go to dad tailors in BH. I purchase custom-tailored suits that utilizes top tier fabrics - Loro Piana, Zegna, Italian mills, etc. Since our bodies will change shape after years of not wearing the old ones, I adjust things from time to time. Other times, when the suit is done from the original maker and I don't want to go back and wait for a month to only fix the sleeve length, Ankine perfects the suit, and keeps its shape the way it's intended to be. She also has a fashion sense and knows how things should fit so you won't have to explain 10x. I also drop off clothes for the dry cleaning side and they have been my go-to for years as well. I specifically ask them not to press on my shirt collars and they will remember to do so, which I appreciate. I wish Ankine a ton of success and may God bless this woman. I know I talked a lot about suits but I've also dropped off a ton of jackets (bombers too), jeans, shirts, and everyday items for her to fix. I'm a happy customer. Excellent customer service! A friendly smile, a helping hand and good communication made a great impression from my very first visit until now. I've brought in just about every type of clothing: wool sweaters, dresses, silk blouses, slacks, suits and ties. Each piece of clothing appeared to be cleaned with care. For example, when I had a few fuzz balls pilling on my sweater, Alex (the owner) took the time to remove them. Tissue paper is often found stuffed into the shoulders and arms of my long sleeved items to help maintain shape. My clothes come back looking perfectly pressed and like-new each time. One thing that sets this cleaners apart from others is the level of attention each customer receives. I am always helped with carrying the hanged items to the car at time of pick-up. I also get calls when my items are ready, and helpful advice on how to better care for delicate fabrics (I'm very rough on my clothes and often spill food or drink on them, oops.) If Alex has a concern about the condition of my dirty laundry, he calls me ahead of time. I appreciate that he cares about my expectations and quality of service. 5 stars. I was next door shopping and I noticed there's a dry cleaner 2 doors down Concierge Cleaners, I was planning on dropping off my dirty shirts to my usual dry cleaner on my way home but decided to try CC. I walked in and met Alex, gave him the shirts and ask me to write my name and phone number down on a piece of paper. I was looking for an automated system, there isn't any, then Alex said, I'll call you when it's done. I said to myself - huh?, this is different, I'm not accustomed to this. 2 Days later, Alex called and said your shirts are ready for pick-up, I came, I saw and I was impressed and amazed, the stubborn stains that my other 2 dry cleaners couldn't get out is gone! From here on out, this will be my favorite dry cleaner. The difference is customer service, quality job and price should not even be a matter. The other dry cleaners doesn't care about you, they probably care more about the celebrity photos on their wall than giving you the same treatment. When I see celeb photos on the dry cleaners wall, I immediately think "double standard". It's like having a 5 star dry cleaner but without having to stay at a 5 star hotel. read more
