Arrechissimo is one of those mom and pop stops that you could very easily pass up if you didn't know what you were looking for. My advice to you is to STOP and check it out because this food will blow your mind! Arrechissimo is not a sit down restaurant...It is a window where you order and take your food to go. They only have 3 small tables outside for you to sit at, though the owner told us they are trying to save up for tables. Don't be fooled by the Styrofoam plates though, the food here will blow your MIND! Take a bite into their empanadas, and you will understand what I'm talking about. My husband and I wanted a bit of everything on the menu, so we got the Typical Venezuelan Plate with rice, shredded beef, black beans, and plantains ($11), arepa con pabellon, one beef empanada ($4), and one chicken empanada ($4), with the large cilantro sauce ($2.50). Yes, we ordered way too much food. haha The arepas and the empanadas are simply to die for! They were so crispy, not greasy, and served super hot. The fillings were all amazing, but the arepa con pabellon was truly special. We asked the owner what he recommends, and he said the arepa con pabellon was his favorite, and I can see why...It has shredded beef, black beans, plantains, and cheese all up in an arepa and YOU GUYS it was a flavor explosion! But what really sealed the deal for me was that cilantro sauce. Bottle and sell it! I would buy it by the gallon. Make sure you get the 4 oz sauce because 1 oz will simply not be enough. (I had trouble finding it the first time I went because of this) If it's cold or really hot out have somewhere to hang out while you wait, it's not fast. Summary: great food and flavors, note there's nowhere to sit in the winter time Went here on a Friday night to grab food and thy turned it around pretty fast. Got an arepa, a side of yuca, and onion steak dish. Arepa- so yummy, great recommendation by the owner! I don't think it's on the menu, but just ask the owner what his favorite arepa is.The outside was crispy and soft all at the same time. Great balance of flavors with the tostones inside gives it an extra texture. Even though it was $8 I'd get it again since it was pretty filling. Onion steak dish- not much to be desired. Onions were on top of the steak and were extremely salty. The steak itself had no flavor. Won't get this again but will try a different main dish. Yuca- not bad needed a bit more crisp on the outside and salt Owners were very kind. I need to talk about the LIFE CHANGING experience that happened to me over the weekend... That experience? Arrechissimo and all of its flavor bursting glory. First, this little take out window is in the most unassuming location in all of Cincinnati. It's tucked in between a bowling alley and a residential area with very little signage. Had it not been for Yelp we would have never found this place. Having had it bookmarked for what seems like forever, I didn't think it was worth the drive unless I was in the area and this weekend I just happened to have been lucky. We walk up to the window and ask - what is the best thing on your menu? The owner says, "the arepas and the empanadas." We ask, "give us the one dish you could not live without." And 3-4 minutes later out comes a beef arepa accompanied by a cilantro sauce. Now lets back up - for those of you that don't know, an arepa is made of ground maize dough almost like a Venezuela type cake that is cut in half and stuffed with many different varieties of meats and toppings. Ours came with a spicy marinated beef, cheese, and we topped it with the most delicious sauce of all time. The arepa was so hot and fresh my bf and I passed it back and forth burning our fingers and risking the roof of our mouths because we could just not get enough of it. The noises that were coming out of our car were probably alarming to those in the car next to us. We both agreed that for $7.34 we got one of the most memorable and delicious back and forth bites of food that we have had in recent memory. Despite all of our travels in the past 3 years. This is it people. Cancel your plans, and make a pit stop at Arrechissimo if it's that last thing you ever do. And for those of you that have had this spot bookmarked, it's worth the drive. DO IT. DO IT NOW! This is exactly what Yelp is all about. Finding those hard working business owners, in the oddest locations, grinding it out on the daily and doing it just because they love it. I was so pleased to discover a Venezuelan restaurant in Cincinnati. Finally! Even though this is a take-out only joint, I'll take it. The owner/operator is terrific. Friendly, helpful and willing to dole out samples. He seemed glad to have us even though we were the only people there who didn't speak Spanish. The reina pepiada (chicken avocado arepa) was delicious. The corn bun (shell? What does one call this?) was perfectly hot and crisp. We also had the Venezuelan typical plate that was hearty and enjoyable. Be sure not to miss the freshly-squeezed juices. Passionfruit, pineapple and mango are the most popular. So where's that 5th star? Well, prices are pushing it. $11 for the typical plate seems pricey for mainly beans, rice and stewed meat. Arepas at $5 seem slightly high too. Especially considering this place has practically no overhead. On a crisp fall afternoon there were quite a few customers seated outside but I'm not sure what a cold or rainy day would do to the biz. Okay, so what better way to go out for lunch, at a new place, on a cold winter day. I tend to use yelp to find new places and also for coaching on what to order. I will give yelp a A+ for fulfilling this tasking. As a few others have commented this is beyond a hole in the wall restaurant. It is literally a walk up window. The first thing that hits you is the man behind the window/counter. I told him it was my first time and he was very helpful in explaining the menu and provided some suggestions. I went with the arepas (sandwich) with pork and cheese. I also ordered a pineapple juice (only because it was so well recommended). My first reaction was that the arepas looked a little small for the money. However, it was extremely filling (and I am a big guy) and it was more than enough for a hearty lunch. The sandwich was great. The "bread" is a corn flat bread. It is outstanding. This was a hit. On to the "juice". Again, not something I would normally order, but it was highly recommended on yelp. I have to second that recommendation. It was extremely tasty. Great place. Very reasonably priced. Definitely a must go to place. I will be back. read more

I've never been to Venezuela, but other reviews have spoken to the authenticity of Arrechissimo. I ordered a typical plate and a chicken arepa for two people to share. First off, the arepa is gigantic. I don't know how one person could finish it, but it's a ton of meat and absolutely delicious. The typical plate is...typical! In a very delightful way! It's also gigantic, and together, they gave us 2 meals for 2 people. And although I've never had Venezuelan food specifically, a lot of the ingredients that go into South American food are very similar to what I have had "authentically", and it's definitely spot on. Price point, it may seem expensive at first, and they don't offer discounts for catering, but considering we got double the meal out of it, it's really not too bad! This place is definitely worth the venture out if you're near Kenwood or Deer Park. It's a little easy to miss because they don't have a big bold sign, and there's no parking lot, just metered street parking right in front, but check it out. The menu is simple, the food is great, the owners are friendly, and everything is made to order. My wait time was a little long, about 10-15 minutes, but it's definitely worth it! read more

Food made with love! Stopped at this little joint on a road trip.. Feels like a small slice of home! The owner is very friendly and honest about the menu. I got the arepa pabellon and my BF got the reina pepiada, with a side of tequeños we were ready to explode but so happy to have had delicious and good quality food! This place is truly worth the small detour, we also had a fruit punch juice called tizano... With a shot of rum, this juice could cure any ailment. I've had so many arepas and velezuelan foods before, this restaurant truly is top notch. I am looking forward for my next visit to Cincinnati to be able to visit arrechissimo! For what this place is ... It is rock solid and a 5. It's not a place where you have some in a suit standing and getting your food nor is it a bar with TV's but it is more of a pick up place for authentic food... The owner is very nice... The food is great. Get the avacado chicken and the arechemmo con pebellon (some kind of spelling like that which is not on the menu) The empanadas were okay, but the other things were great. I had the best meal at Arrechissimo yesterday! My sister and I shared a shredded beef empanada, DELICIOUS! I had la Reina pepiada, an avocado chicken salad arepa and my sister the pabellón- shredded beef, black beans, cheese and plantains. Their shredded beef is so deliciously seasoned- I usually don't like beef but they knocked it out of the park. This is literally why you log onto yelp to look for restaurants, it is a hidden gem in the blue ash/kenwood area - it is an unassuming "hole-in-the-wall" restaurant that will change your life --- Atmosphere: its literally like an almost building style food truck, you walk up to the counter and are greeted by the incredibly friendly (presumably owner) restauranteur for lack of a better word who immediately made a bunch of recommendations for us. I will admit i was with a native spanish speaker so I can't pretend to know exactly the exchange going on but I trusted that I was in good hands. Our seating area was a small set of tables to the side on a beautiful day - but lets be frank you aren't coming here for the decor Service: the owner/chef recommended dishes for us and brought all of our food to us, I will say though it is a order and pick up style vendor don't expect rapidity we did wait about 20 minutes (though well worth it) for our food. You can tell he took a great deal of pride in his product, as he should. I came a bit out of my way just to visit this restaurant since I've never had Venezuelan food and wanted to try it. Except I wouldn't call it a "restaurant" per say since it's more of a takeout window with one small table outside so it's better to expect to not find any seating. I'm going to assume the guy who took my order is the owner of the restaurant and he was very patient and helpful when I said that I'm completely unfamiliar with the menu. I stuck with what's the most popular which is the reina pepiada arepa. Like I said, I've never had Venezuelan food before so I can't speak for the authenticity but I was happy with how it tasted. I didn't expect the chicken avocado filling to be cold but it was a nice contrast with the hot bun it's stuffed in. The bun had a thin crispy exterior and was soft inside. If there's anyplace else like Arrechissimo in Cincinnati, I haven't found it. From the cornmeal (I guess?)-based rolls the arepas are served in to the unique flavors--my favorite is the arepa con pabellon, which contains shredded beef, white cheese, black beans and fried plantains--this unassuming little place does it right. The service is always friendly. You order via a walk-up window, and then you can eat at one of a few metal tables set up on the sidewalk, or you can wait in your car and they'll actually bring your food out to you when it's done. There's also a park right down the street, where you can eat at aa picnic table under a shelter. In addition to the arepa con pabellon, I recommend the arepa con reina pepillada, a kind of chicken salad sandwich with avocado mixed in. And don't forget the cilantro sauce, which comes in hot or mild. read more

I was searching on google for some Hispanic food and of course this " new " Venezuelan restaurant stood out. The food was simply delicious! I had the arepa de pabellón, empanada de res and a 3 leches cake. I'm all for the sweet stuff, the sweeter the better in my opinion! But the cake still satisfied.... my overly high tolerance of sugar intake . The empanada was bigger than the other places I've been to and that arepa was made to perfection. I didn't get a picture of the empanada nor cake but highly recommend. What really threw me off was there is no inside seating whatsoever but it was whatever since I had my dog with me. The weather was nice and I gladly sat outside with some friends. However, I understand certain Hispanics were raised a certain way back in their country ( my parents are from Honduras ) and have different opinions on how to educate/train a dog... it just so happened I was sitting down the owner brought out my cake first and as he did so, he saw how my dog was standing up kind of walking back and forth ( she was not bothering me, and definitely was not in his way) just not sitting still. No one else was dining outside either just my two friends and I... he comes over in Spanish saying dogs understand when you are tough on them.. he basically literally takes her leash from my hand and pulls her pretty hard ( her paws had some rashing and had some wounds on her body which is why she had the Elizabethan collar on ) he pulls her to make her sit down in a way and I'm like " hey, what are you doing chill... she's not well " in Spanish of course and he claims that's the only way she'll learn . Idk... but I did not like that AT ALL. In a way it's as if he would've scolded another customers kid. You just don't do that, especially on a injured pet. He never apologized but I know he felt awkward after it all happened I tried to not make a scene but the remaining time we spent there was awkward for all of us. ‍ Im still debating if I should go back or just stick to other arepa places which are equally as good. read more

Husband and I wanted to try a new takeout place on a Friday night. Went about 6 PM, ordered our food at the walk up window and they told us it's about a 15 min wait, so they took our number and said they would call us. It took just about that long while we waited in our car. I had an empanada (I ordered chicken, but didn't discover until I got home it was cheese) and the meat grill plate (chorizo, beef and chicken) with the Yucca. My husband had a beef arepa and the typical plate. We also got a side of the big container of cilantro sauce - mild. Food was alright, cooked well, but not worth $42 total (no drinks) in my opinion. If you google Arrechissimo, their tag line is "Just Great Food." They don't lie. Another Whole30 find in a desperate moment after some Kenwood shopping. I called to ask if they were open and was asked what my order would be, because he wanted to have it done when we arrived. I wasn't sure what we wanted, so we ordered and waited in our car (it was cold out). It may not be 100% compliant, but I had the Onion Grill Steak which is a thin grilled steak with sautéed onions (I was told without butter) along with boiled yuca x2 for my sides. The plantains sound great, but violate the no fried foods rule. Also, they have great empanadas and arepas, I'm told. I'll have to visit again! read more

Just stopped in this afternoon for the first time for lunch with my wife and son and I can happily say everything was delicious. The owner is very friendly and makes some KILLER home made passion fruit juice that paired perfectly with the sandwich I had which I believe contained plaintains,black beans,pulled chicken,rice, and cheese and was out of this world it reminded me of a recent trip to Puerto Rico. My wife got a platter that had some spicy pulled pork I believe with black beans, rice and plaintains. The meal for everything was around $30 for my sandwich, her platter and 2 of his passion fruit drinks which was well worth it for the portions and quality. I've been craving authentic Venezuelan food ever since I had it New York a couple years ago, and this place did not disappoint. The tequenos, empanadas, and arepas were amazing. Wow! Just wow! This place was everything i have rea about it and more. Just stopped here for my first time and have driven past it a 1000 times without even noticing it. Parked across the street by the tracks and ran over to the wimdow and rang the bell and a very friendly man opened it and asked if i needed a menu. I told him i found him on Yelp and wanted 1 beef & cheese empenada & 1 chicken & cheese arepa with a large green sauce. He asked what car i was in and he would run it out to me in 15 min. Nice touch. My food was brought to me in 10 minutes and he was so nice it was impressive. Got the food home and dove head first into it. Both were hot and crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. The fillings in bboth were very tasty but with the spicy green sauce it was fantastic. I will be back next week for more off the menu. Im pretty sure i wont be disappointed wirh anything that comes out of this little street food shop. read more
