Very unremarkable, chicken wings I got the garlic Parmesan and lemon pepper. They were well done and a true challenge to eat.

Stopped here on a whim on the way to downtown St. Augustine to get some cheap food. The chicken tender sandwich was your basic sandwich but it hit the spot. The bar itself was chill, not many people at all. There were a couple slot machines, dart boards, and karaoke on certain nights. Dive bars are my favorite so this was definitely my style.

I have passed this place for what seems all my life. I grew up in Jacksonville and as a kid traveling US1 to St Augustine I remember passing Arnold's. Well today I went in and was stepped back in time. This bar still has a 1960's feel. This place has a large bar numerous tables and a stage. It was mid afternoon so the crowd was light and the bartender friendly. I learned the building is 52 years old. What a treat to stop in have a cold beer! Thanks for the hospitality!

First time in St. Augustine and we decided to do a local visit to Arnold's. The average price of a meal around town seems to be $20 we found out Arnold's has a Ribeye steak dinner with corn, green beans and a baked potato for $14.99. We made out way in and sat at the bar. The place was pretty full and several people were just drinking and chatting. There was only a couple of people that could serve and it was still great service. We ordered our drinks and we ordered our steak and met some pretty awesome people while waiting on our food. We never have met so many friendly people in our lives. Once our steaks arrived we both were extremely surprised with the size and the flavor of the Ribeyes. We didn't need any sauce and the temp was perfect. Our drinks were always kept full and the company was awesome. This is a local joint and the atmosphere is laid back and fun.

Authentic northeast Florida place with great music. Open mic night is always a pleasant surprise. Weekends are fun for dance bands.

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

When I arrived with my pregnant wife and my service dog, he asked somewhat curtly if it was a service dog. After I confirmed and thanked him, he rudely placed the menu on the table, turned around without saying another word or showing any basic courtesy, and just walked away with his back to us. It was a pretty cold and uncomfortable welcome. That said, the restaurant is absolutely charming. I really loved the interior ambiance--it's cozy, well-decorated, and has a very pleasant vibe. The food was extremely delicious. We ordered the Half Pound Ice Plant Burger and it was juicy, fresh, and packed with flavor. You could taste the quality in every single bite--the meat was perfect, the ingredients fresh, and everything very well balanced. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had recently. Despite the initial host experience, I would return without hesitation for the food and the atmosphere. Highly recommended, but they could improve the initial greeting.

The food is solid but hasn't blown me away, my husband also agreed. The two dinners both had slow service and it took a while to get our food and drinks. Lots of waiting for a semi pricy meal and experience. The last cocktail I ordered that was an old fashioned on their speciality list was just too sweet and a little funky. I got a glass of wine next and that was perfectly fine. With so many places to eat in STA, this just isn't my favorite. Everyone is friendly and it's a pretty place, but better for a rooftop drink in my opinion.

It wasn't just brunch; it was an experience. The gorgeous presentation, homemade strawberry butter, warm berry compote, flavorful breakfast potatoes with peppers and onions, and all the little details made it one of those places you can't stop talking about. It left such an impression on us that years later, when planning another trip to St. Augustine, we specifically made sure Surfside Kitchen was on the itinerary. We were so excited to come back. Unfortunately, this visit was nothing like the one we remembered. The food wasn't bad, but it lacked everything that made Surfside special. The beautiful presentation was gone, the berry compote and strawberry butter had disappeared, the potatoes were plain, and the meal just felt... ordinary. The attention to detail and flavor that made this place stand out simply wasn't there. The highlight of our visit was our waitress Tiana, who was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. She was kind, attentive, and when we asked what had changed, she explained that the restaurant is under new ownership. That made everything make sense. This isn't written out of anger; it's disappointment. We came back because we remembered how special this place was, and we wanted to experience that again. Sadly, it feels like the Surfside Kitchen we fell in love with no longer exists. I truly wish the new owners the best, but I also hope they realize that people weren't just coming for chicken and waffles; they were coming for an experience. Unfortunately, that's what was missing this time.
