I just filed two court cases against Jon Johnson and he just lost both. First of all: ask him to produce his insurance that protects you against any damages he does to your household goods. He produced one, that was fraudulent. It does not cover your goods. Secondly: he does not own his vehicle and therefore, none of that insurance covers you. If he does damage your furniture, he will not pay for the repair costs. Thirdly: he will charge per hour and then take longer to travel between the two places and then refuse to offload, until you pay him an additional amount. Then he will start to threaten your and call you up in the middle of the night and tell you step outside, as one of his felon employees is going to hurt you. STAY AWAY: The idiot has no clue: I now live in Spain and not. England... but that's what he does...lies and loses court cases all the time. He can't even afford his one moving truck! read more

He helped me pick up and move a few very heavy items, and then I contacted him about moving out of state. Using the veteran tag (true or not idk maybe to get work) but very unprofessional about appliances bought that was seen and made sure were in good condition when purchased. They delivered scratched, dented, parts missing. Also causing damage to flooring upon arrival which now has to be fixed out of pocket. It is sad to see a business owner use the term Army in the name of his moving company. He represents nothing of the organization I was a part of. The Army core values have Honor, Integrity, Selfless Service to name a few. The owner sent two gentlemen to my home to help move a few things out due to some renovations. First, I got a call from the owner telling me the quote I received and that I would be getting two movers coming over to help me for two hours. He asked if I may need another mover in case there are any oddly shaped things that I may need to be moved. I told him I needed a buffet and a dining table moved and didn't think I would need more than two people to help. This is relevant because he would later claim a different conversation happened except luckily for me I record ALL of my phone calls and I'll make a YouTube video so you can hear how the owner talks to people that do business with him and his poor employees which in my opinion he exploits. After our phone call which he had said his two workers were 30 minutes out, they did not show up. I waited an hour and by this time yes, I was frustrated. I told him to find out and call me back because I was borderline going to cancel the move and hire someone else. He called back and said they would be there in 15 to 20 minutes and asked if I was going to cancel after all because the two guys had two more moves after mine. I told him I would not cancel but they would have 20 minutes to show. They showed up 20 minutes later and everything went smooth for about 30 minutes until they broke a marble top that went on top of the buffet. As they were placing it on the truck it slipped out of one of the employee's hands and it broke into 3 pieces. They called the owner and I texted the owner an image of the damage. As I heard them converse I started hearing the lies and the excuses they would make to scapegoat the responsibility. First, it was my fault because he said that I didn't put a blanket on it, then the issue was because it was going to be placed on the bottom of the truck. None of which are relevant because the break happened when his two workers dropped the furniture. I recorded the call, he made every excuse in the book and even refused to give me his company name; he threw his employees under the bus telling me I should not pay them and should arrange a replacement with them. Ultimately the call ended with the owner telling me I didn't have a contract and basically I was out of luck, on my own. If you happen to hire this man or anyone that works for him be aware that he will tell you that he just contracts people out, he probably does not have insurance to cover any damages any of his guys may do. He will throw his workers under the bus claiming they are just contractors. This man abuses his people and when in a tough situation he drops them and drives a bus over them as if they didn't even exist. I put him on speaker and recorded all the calls and I will be posting a link on here to the video so you can hear his complete disregard for his workers and the customers he acquires. He exploits people that work for him and reaps all the rewards but none of the risks involved with working with other people's property. He will use every excuse he can possibly make to not be responsible, he missed his calling, he should have been in insurance. Instead, he employs the name of one of our military institutions in an attempt to represent something he is not; he should be ashamed of himself! To the owner reply which is full of LIES Lie number one that he informed me that his regular movers were busy. I have the phone call recorded where he just called to confirm my quote and he was going to text me the number of his guys that were going to help me with the move. Saving money?! I was paying almost 200 dollars for two hours of help, how is that saving money?? Lie number two, I didn't want to wrap anything, I had many things wrapped and I had only taken off the buffet top to make it easier because his guys said they were gassed and they couldn't lift it. I didn't lie about not having heavy stuff, I told him that's why I needed two guys and how can he claim they are not his employees if sent them, and he himself said he had two other moves lined up for them. How can they not be his employees if he's ordering them to go to different places to move things?! Lie number three, allowing a customer to help, I was not helping; if anything I was directing because the two guys he sent over didn't have a clue. Lie number four, they are not his employees, then why did you send them?! Why was it you asking me if I still needed them if not you had two more moves lined up?? If they are not your workers those are very strange statements to make, again I have you sir on the recording saying this stuff... I highly recommend not using their services. Jon, the manager, is disorganized and unprofessional. I had called a month or so before moving and given the move details but he didn't seem to have noted the details. He texted a quote to me and because it was the best quote I received, I agreed. He sent a text confirmation and didn't send the insurance documents, even though I had explicitly requested for it. Anyway, I called 5 days before the move and asked him to confirm. He gave a verbal confirmation. He didn't email or text anything. Evening before the move, I messaged him to send me the confirmation with insurance. He texted them. I noticed that the move details were imprecise. So I clarified that. Then he replied with a much higher rate than before. I had received better quotes from others, but as this was in the last minute, I agreed to the rate. The morning of the move, he requests an itemized list of things to move over text. I replied to him saying that I'm busy and won't be able to send the list. He called me while I was taking the move-in tour for my new apartment and because I didn't pick up the call, sent me a text cancelation, a couple of hours before he was supposed to arrive. He didn't have the courtesy to call. Thankfully, I found another company to help us move. They sent a confirmation email with all the details and caveats specified. And they gave a much better rate than what Jon gave the day before. I wouldn't trust or recommend this company to anyone, even if cut their price in half. PS: Jon got the details wrong even after reading my text and my review. I was moving from a 2nd floor apartment to a 3rd floor apartment, not the other way around. I gave the same details to him that I gave to other movers. Some movers sent an email quote with the details I had requested precisely. Why I would lie only to him when I was looking for a comparable quote for different movers is beyond me. His showing proof of text when I gave the details over a call is ridiculous. Furthermore, almost every other mover gave a quote with 2 hr minimum. When he quotes 2.5 hr minimum, why shouldn't I request a quote with a 2 hr minimum instead! Here's why: Wednesday 04/26 I saw his ad on CL and called him to make arrangements to move my fully furnished two bedroom apartment to another two bedroom apartment that was on the third floor in the same complex. We agreed on a price and how it would be handled which I quote, "Includes, transportation of furniture to other residence with in complex, dollys and wrapping. 3rd floor to 3rd floor...Thanks, Jon." $95/hr for 3guys. Via text. Move in date was set for 5/1/17 but we changed it to 04/30/17. No issues there except Army guy sent three guys with ONE dolly, a few pads and in regular PICKUP TRUCK who showed up 30 min late. THIS WAS A HUGE RED FLAG! As they showed up late, no paper work ( Most likely not license and insured), no big MOVING truck and nothing to protect or secure my belongings. So I called the owner to see what is going on. There is NO POSSIBLE WAY they can fit any piece of furniture on that pickup truck. His excuse was there were "some confusion" and he thought a pickup truck would be enough to "shuttle" my 2 bedroom apartment in the complex. There's no confusion here on my end as everything was clearly communicated when we talked since he suggested 3 guys so we can get things done "faster". At this point I've already packed all my belonging and have no choice but to reschedule with Jon for Monday. Now he wants us to pay $50 extra for the Uhual which he's going to rent to move our belonging when it's something he supposedly had in the pictures as "Professional Movers". So I agreed to it as I don't have any other choice for Movers since I have to vacate by Monday-05/01. To make things up for the "confusion" and delay, Jon says he'll deduct wrapping time from the move time once complete which is roughly an hr. I agreed to it. I showed the mover around my apartment and asked him about how long it would take. He says 3 hours to get the job done. This is after him(Freddy) having a 30 minute conversation with Jon, the owner. Alright, so we proceed to arrange it for Monday morning at 9:30am. Monday: 9:30am and no one showed up. I contact Jon and Freddy, they haven't gotten the truck yet. It wasn't until 1030am that they showed up. At this point I had to leave for work. My girlfriend stayed back to watch over the moving process. 4.5-5 hours later these guys are still moving my belonging from the first apartment down to the truck. I get a call from Jon about it and we had a conversion where he ends up contacting my gf and talked to her. 30 minutes later I get a call from my girlfriend saying that he's demanding $620 from her or else they were going to put our belonging in storage. I called Jon and instead of trying to make things right, he's talking on the top of his lung on a three way saying that it's not their fault and we need to pay them up front for the work before they finish because it doesn't seem that we have the money since my girlfriend told him we budgeted the move based on what they (him and his employee) quoted us. Per Jon, the $620 is what his now "estimated" time to finish. Insisting that he gave us a discount by removing the cost of the wrapping material when it was clearly in the agreement that wrapping is in the cost and refuse to take off the hour or so that it took to wrap our belongings. Saying, "I'm already throwing in the cost of the wrap for you! That costs money!" (When wrapping was part of the agreement.) Then proceed to demands that his employee take the money while he's on the phone with me or take our belongings. Demands that his employee get the money from my girlfriend while he's on the phone with me or take our belongings. At this point we have no other option and our belonging has to be moved. And with no other choice we forked up $620! Got home and asked my girlfriend about how things were done; it took two guys to carry my 20-30 lbs night stand "to be extra careful". And three guys to bring up a box on a dolly. Picture attached. They used 1 dolly for the entire move!! As Jon said, "if you want some thug to come, pack your stuff and move it without caring about your belonging you can find them on Craigslist, but that's not us!" Ironically, I found Jon's listing on Craigslist. These guys were great! I wanted to hire vets so this was perfect. They got everything moved within the time frame and I paid a great rate. My move was within the same apartment complex and literally right across the parking lot so all they had to do was walk my stuff right over instead of putting in a truck etc. so everything wasn't packed as efficiently as it would be had it been a bigger move, with a longer distance. Either way, they still did a great job regardless of my packing skills lol and I am disabled and on oxygen 24/7 so it's hard for me to do a lot of things, I even walked down stairs with a box and halfway down one of them took it from me and carried it across for me, that was really nice. These men are polite, respectful, trustworthy and very professional. I left to go get some water from the store while they were moving because I trusted them to have access to both of my homes with all my stuff being moved around...usually I'm one that likes to micromanage and know what's going on at all times and have my eye on everything and everyone but my dad was a vet and these guys are great. This company took over my move on behalf of another company that I had originally booked with. I'm not sure what when wrong with the other company, but I was grateful that Army Guys took the move on such short (same day) notice. Despite having an extremely long day before getting to my move, they didn't leave me hanging and kept in communication often which I appreciated. Once they got to the pickup location, they were extremely quick and efficient. They made it to the dropoff location quickly, and got everything unloaded and put into the correct rooms much faster than expected. Malcolm & J.R. were funny, polite, and very careful with my items. HORRIBLE! Absolutely never ever again. Worst experience EVER! Friday, they are to be there at 10AM. This man arrived at 10:45. He only had one lady to help him move my things. I told him 3 maybe 4 hours. I've done the move before and it only took the two men from another moving company 3.25 hours. This guy came and was on the phone every hour on the hour. He said to me this won't take us be 1 and 1/2 hours to pack on the truck and then an hour to unload. He talked and talked and talked to Jon, the owner. He started out ok. Then Jon kept texting me saying this isn't right. I'm like fool I only needed you for the big stuff. I didn't have much. Good Lord. I had loved our closets, bathroom, most of the kitchen. He had two couches, live seat, chair with ottoman,one platform bed (that input together and hauled upstairs in the bedroom alone), tv stand 2 dresser drawers (1 they left), 55!inch and 65 inch TVs, dining table , 8 chairs, desk, office chair, 2 book cases ( again input these together in the garage and carried them into the office alone) was her dryer, queen sleigh bed, about 12 boxes. He left my ladder, dresser, workout equipment, all my shelves in the garage. We packed pictures and other things in my daughter's car and my car and a friends car. 8 hours later they left with half the stuff in my old place and everything in shambles. I WILL NEVER USE THIS --- AGAIN. Also they broke one tv frame, cracked a picture an took the legs of both sofas off and didn't put them back on. Wonderful guys!!! Moved here a couple days ago and ended up needing help unloading our 26' U-Haul at the last minute (other movers never showed). These guys were able to come and help - even arriving less than an hour after being texted! When all of our stuff didn't fit into our storage unit they were patient and even stayed longer than originally planned to help put it all into the second unit we rented. I think I may have just been unlucky and gotten the services on a bad day because all of the other reviews seem great. I didn't have that much stuff to move to begin with which is why this was even a little more disappointing. I also know that they were running late that day because of some unforeseen circumstances but still... What little pieces of wood furniture I did have got scuffed. I also had plastic drawers and because they were plastic, they got even less care and also got scuffed and was dragged even. Three people were helping me move yet my mattress couldn't be picked up and was dragged across my apartment floor. I also didn't get help setting my mattress and box spring down because the frame was a little off and they couldn't wait for me to adjust it a tiny bit to put the box spring and mattress down. I don't really have nice things per say, but I did just get a nice new office chair with microfiber fabric and someone picked up my chair and carried it on his very sweaty unconvered head, it was really quite gross. All in all, I think that they were just having an off day at work but this was my experience. I also paid for these services on a weekend so the price was a lot higher than their usual rate. Their Sunday rate is the same as most other companies, knowing this, I would have rather hired a bigger company for the same price. read more

I called them super last minute to do a dryer swap with a lady in marble falls. He quoted me $170 for the time to drive to and from (1 hr.), and another hour to complete the swap, plus $50 for fuel. That's totally cool, no worries. When they got the dryer out of our new house, I saw that it did in fact have an outlet for an electrical dryer (was told it was only gas), so I asked them to confirm that. Fred said that I could use my dryer there and it was for either gas or electric because it had the proper voltage outlet. So I'm stoked, because I really didn't want a mismatched set and mine is literally 5 months old. Well, after an elongated process of swapping a 4 prong for a 3 prong plug, and a debate over how it needed to be done or whatever, I'm informed that I'm only being charged $120. I'm not in the mood to argue. It shouldn't have taken two hours to move one dryer out, swap a plug, and move said dryer back in, but whatever. They were really nice, very helpful, and helped me with some other things, but they were really pricey, and I felt the price was a bit unfair for what they did. read more

I seriously don't understand why anyone would use anyone else. When I moved to Austin in June 2017 I called John at the last minute because the company that was going to help me, well, let's just say it did not work out. I told John three guys, he recommended two just to save me money. Two was perfect. Moved into my place, hung some stuff up. Everything was fine. Several months later, my parents needed help moving from Houston to Kyle. This was a beast of a move. It took two full days. Even had to put John and his crew in a hotel. My mom still says how John and his guys made them feel safe and secure. Really took care of everything. The move ended at 7am the following Tuesday. My parents were really just not fully prepared. John's guys packed and moved, it went fine. Hired another crew when I moved places a few weeks ago and as expected, all my stuff was moved and we are safe and secure. I actually came into needing more money myself for certain business expenses for my own ventures. I called John and he let me work some weekend jobs with him. Paid me, everything was fair and fine. Plus we only needed their help with the heavy stuff since my father cannot life anything heavy anymore. We agreed to have them meet at the new house at 7am. I text Jon half an hr before that to let him know I was on my way. He replied that the men were in route. Jon called me back about an hr later (7:45) asking if I had called one of the movers to let them know we still wanted them?!?!?!? First off, I thought that's what the text earlier was for. Second, he never told me to text anyone (I went back and read my text messages to make sure). He then told me that the movers were sitting around waiting for me to contact them!!! He began making excuses that the guys worked late the previous night etc. Then he asked if they need to bring any equipment (hand truck, furniture dolly). I may be wrong here since I don't move much but I thought when you hire movers they bring their own equipment. I know if I hire landscapers, they bring their own mowers. Anyway,not only did he not take responsibility for mis handling of his men but they showed up at 9:30. That's 2.5 hrs late. The whole point was to have them unload the stuff I didn't want my father touching. Once they arrived they worked great. I didn't have any issues with them. The guys did great. No scrapes on furniture or door jams. Worked quick. Jon (the owner) needs to plan better and ensure his crews understand where to be, travel times, the agreed time, etc. They were cheaper than most other movers but perhaps that's because they are 2.5 hrs late rather than 10 minutes early like the military teaches. Ha! What a joke. Using "Army Guys" in their name to pull customers. I thought the army had morals like DEPENDABILITY and INTEGRITY. NOPE. I contacted them to move a dresser. They said, sure in a few hours. A few hours would have been at 2:30. So I text and say, "Can you meet me at 3?" He responds back with a time of now 4. I then respond and say I'd have to move my schedule around and I'd text him back. Right when I'm texting back to say that's fine and I CANCELLED my night, got someone to cover me at work, and got my kid picked up, he texts and says he "has to pass" and he booked another move. Are you kidding me?? Probably a bigger move than mine I'm sure. Just because you get a bigger job doesn't mean it's ok to fuck over someone you already told you'd help.
