In addition I messed up my address and they stopped selling to run over and fix it, phone was sketchy during move. Okay I waited then emailed them on January 13th 2020 and got the same occurring email everyone else gets. "We are working as hard as we can" "sorry for inconveniences" "we will not forget about you" "your support is important to us" "we are two weeks out on emails" bla bla bla! Fine I waited two more weeks for a email back and nothing. Finally sent another email and no response what so ever. Won't pick up the phone or respond to emails. They already stole my money without giving me any feedback on my order. Terrible company and even worse customer service. I see Edward C. Comments on the negative reviews and reassured the customers they will look into the problems. Simple fix to one big problem is improve your customer service and pick up a damn phone when it rings. Simple. Now I've been seeing Edward C. Commenting saying email/call us to get some issues resolved? If they don't even pick up the phone or email back in the first place, How do I even know they will get my calls and emails without ignoring them again. I expect a direct line from Edward C. Amazing customer service !!!! Please everyone take the time to check them out . While most stores only care to make upsales off of customers these guys were completely different. This review is solely based on the customer experience so far, meaning I'm in the same boat with MANY other customers who are experiencing unreasonable lack of communication and extended upon extended upon extended wait time. Initially when doing my research I found that AR500 had superior protection with their level III+ plate at a very reasonable price. At the time of my order the "estimated lead time" was 12 weeks along with a level III back plate that was "in stock". Now here I sit 16 weeks later with no email updates just excuses like this sent to me on June 29th, "We are currently waiting for the steal to come in for the level III+ armor. We are looking to receive out shipment of materials the beginning of next week. Once we receive the materials they will start producing the plates. Once your order is ready to ship you will receive tracking information." -Cheyanne Notice the spelling of steel? Plus keep in mind my order has been in the "packing queue" for 4 weeks when receiving this email from Cheyanne. Now I've noticed on Facebook that they are selling a carrier package with Level III+ plates?! Then I see people posting themselves walking out of the store with the level III+ plates? How can a company ignore orders that have been placed months in advanced that have all ready been paid for and taken out of bank accounts not make those people's orders priority one? Its super simple, you make a commitment to the public and one should honor that obligation. It seems almost like they pick and choose who they want to help. read more

They have decent products, but their inventory and shipping management must be a complete train wreck: and their customer service is not great. It took only 2 weeks to get my plates, but 2.5 months to get a simple IFAK (Med kit). I really could have ordered all the components from Amazon, and packed it myself for less money, and had it completed in less than a week. They really need to meet their demand in a much more timely fashion, or politely tell people that they can't help them, so they don't waste their time. They didn't even offer any kind of appeasement for my bad experience, no waiver of the shipping charges, no extra stuff, not even a cool sticker for my wait Lol. I am giving one star not because of the product they offer. I have reviewed their products on their website and given favorable reviews. This company offers a great product, at fair prices. The one star is simply the complete lack of accurate production lead times on their inventory. I am currently still waiting for plates i ordered in September! When i places the order the lead time was 5 weeks, on the 5th week they bumped it up to 6 weeks, on the 6th week they bumped it up to 7 weeks. On the 8th week i sent an inquiry and was told about 2 more weeks, and now that 2 more weeks have passed, still nothing. At this point i am beginning to wonder what will; stop them from never shipping my order. I feel that the company owes it to their customers to adhere to the times they post online when the order is placed. If i had known this was going to take three month i would have spent a little more and ordered through another company. Going on week 15 on these guys on a 8 week maximum shipment. Today they lied to me again. They made a shipping information but today they voided it... or according to ups they do not have the shipment in their possession. I'm very fustrated with ar500. To think customers service was bad it not telling much how they actually care about their customers. Worst than I thought. I'm very angry what has happened to me and wish this doesn't happen to anyone else. But I probably will see it again. I wrote them a letter to tell them how fustrated I am with them and how they are tossing me around of my dates of shipment. I called prior to ordering a scope for my AR from these guys to check on availability and delivery time frame. I was told items ship 2-3 days after payment and 3 weeks later my item has still not shipped. It was labeled for shipment 2 weeks after I placed the order, and has been sitting waiting to be given to UPS over a week after the shipping label was created. Every time I call I am told by customer service I should see some movement in the next few days. I will never order anything from these guys again. read more

Update: 3/7/2016 - After having so many problems just getting my plates and carrier I was looking for another Armor manufacturer and found CATI armor. I'm not joking one bit folks when I say that they shipped me 2 - 6x8 side plates with the PAXCON build up coating in 7 days! If you want your armor in 1 - 2 weeks, I would suggest CATI http://www.catiarmor.com/ After watching very impressive ballistics tests from their You Tube channel and realizing the economics of their armor I ordered. Their website said to expect an 8 week lead time. Ok, I wasn't real happy with that but I knew that up front. I ordered that armor 11/13/15. Skip ahead to 1/13/2016, still no armor. Not even a shipping notification. Called and said the order was going to be shipped out that next Monday. Still no shipping notification. This time I emailed then they made and excuse that due to the backlog of orders from some before Christmas sales they've had overwhelming demand and are working as fast as they can. bad excuse, but ok I continued to wait. Now finally on 1/30 I get a shipping email. I thought great OK, it should show up. Now today 2/8 I finally check the tracking number that says it literally just left their warehouse with the "departure scan". Wow, holy crap this is has been a nightmare, and I really, really, really hope this armor is worth the unbelievable wait and hassle. I was going to follow up and buy more from these guy based on how my first time order went and I can honestly say I won't be buying anything more from them. Their production lead time and shipping shenanigans has totally pissed me off. They need to realize their demand and expand production to meet demand or they'll lose customers. I won't be buying anymore armor unless it's in stock and ready to ship the next day. In conclusion if you have time to waste, go for it. If you need body armor anytime in the next six months, find someone else even if it costs more. read more

Placed order for a plate carrier with NO plates, just the carrier that showed in stock. Their lead time showed 14 days for armor. I emailed them to ask what the lead time was for non-armor products and they gave me a story about how they got backed up during the holidays and it would be a month before my order would ship. I went online to check my order and it showed my plate carrier was out of stock so I called. I explained the situation to the guy on the phone and he looked up my order and said the item went out of stock around the time I placed my order and they were waiting to get it back in stock to ship it. It is not in stock for another month and they didn't think it was necessary to call or email me to explain the situation. DO NOT ORDER from these people online, you will not get what you want in a timely fashion or even at all. read more

Customer service is horrible, insane wait times, and they will take advantage of you any chance they get. I ordered one of their plate carrier and level III plate packages for $238 during a promotion they ran, the armor plates list on their website for $85 each for the multi curve, the plate carrier with holster and magazine pouches lists for $149. The 10x12 plate was a little too wide for me, so I decided to upgrade to their level III+ lightweight plates in the ALSC cut, and paid full retail of $282.05. These plates fit me much better, however when I returned the level III plates, they refunded me only $64 dollars total for both plates, so I essentially got to pay MORE than retail price for the plate carrier, I voiced my concern to the customer service agent who basically blew me off. So I in turn cancelled 2 other pending orders. I will vote with my $, and take my business elsewhere. read more

They are ok, Google has a rating of 4.5 stars in 5 reviews. I bought a Taser battery and within six months, the battery died. I wrote them to see if there was any warranty or credit and they directed me to Taser and there was no warranty. I do not know, but I get the sense that the battery was on the shelf for a while and the batteries are only good for two years. The batteries that come with the unit last longer than 2 years if there is no use. I will be wary to buy from them again. read more

Ok I never write reviews But I had to after getting the kind of service I got at the ar500 store. Their service was absolutely amazing, we were treated like family and our questions were answered in great detail. The guy who helped us was John I think(I'm really forgetful when it comes to names) but this guy was an awesome dude and made sure we were were all squared away and he also made sure our vest was fitted properly and ready to go. I live in Illinois with a second home in Arizona. I wanted to wait to purchase until I tried everything on. Their in store stock was superb and plenty to choose from. It was awesome to watch the plates being built through the window. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted and asked what I was looking for. After trying on the vest the plates came next. Every level of protection was explained clearly to me. I chose the threat level I wanted and made the purchase. It could not have been easier. The sales associates ROCK! For those of you complaining about not having your order, on the website it clearly states 8 weeks minimum for some plates. If your that desperate for body armor drive to the store. Placed an order on Dec 3, 2015 for two sets of body armor: Operator II Plate Carrier w/Armor & Pouches. Options included Curved Ergonomic Plates, Side Body Armor, 6' x 8" Curved Side Body Armor, PAXCON Coating: PAXCON Build Up All Plates and Trauma Pads (front, rear & sides). This was a pretty pricey order and since I ordered directly from AR500 Armor, I was told "everything was custom made" and therefore had a lead time of 8 WEEKS. Well..it is March 16, 2016---15 WEEKS LATER and I still HAVEN'T RECEIVED my order! I have contacted AR500 via phone, email and even attempted to get a response by messaging them via their Facebook page. All I have received is rhetoric, excuses, longer delays and empty promises. Customer Service has even given me such lame excuses as "An employee lost a box of trauma pads so we could not complete your order, but we fired the employee". Another excuse was that my "order was taking longer as it had to be shipped in two boxes": Well of course it did! I ordered two (2) FULL SETS of armour!! Then the latest rhetoric that AR500 is publishing on their web page AR500armor.com and their Facebook page AR500 is that the company has grown beyond their 'wildest dreams' and has caused a slow down in processing orders as they cannot "make them fast enough." AR500 SHOULD STOP taking orders if they cannot fill them..but that's just my opinion! I had finally gotten to the point of 'attempting' to cancel my order since AR500 COULD NOT fill it anyway and was told that the order COULD NOT be cancelled. AR500 did not want to cancel the order for 'fear' that it might actually get 'shipped' (a novel idea for this company) and they could not trust me to send the product back to them. Keep in mind I haven't collected any interest on my money which they are holding! I finally got the Customer Service Manger...Ms. C...to agree to 'pulling the order' but she could not promise a refund nor estimate when I might get a refund. I am now in the process of collecting all the back and forth correspondence, order info and the like in an attempt to dispute the charges with my bank. My bank usually only allows disputes up to SIXTY (60) days so I'm not even sure that I can get my money back. So...AR500 strings you out long enough so you may not be able to dispute charges on items you did not receive. I usually do thorough research before ordering such pricey items, but AR500 came highly recommended by a friend. MY MISTAKE for not researching. Had I done so I would have seen that I am NOT the only AR500 customer that this has and is happening to...and probably will not be the last. So...if you NEED TACTICAL GEAR....DON'T COUNT on AR500 Armor! Save yourself the misery and buy your TACTICAL GEAR elsewhere. read more

Where to start! I ordered 500$ worth of gear, including a carrier and plates. was told 5 week lead time, not a big deal because I wasn't expecting in to be fast. good gear takes time, or so i always thought. after 12 weeks my order finally came to me! opened it up and one of my plates was not in the box. The plate carrier was what i expected for a cheap price, not the best but its i'm happy with it. I immediately call and tell them about the mistake, and they say they will send me a plate right out. it has how been a total of 15 weeks and nothing yet. so i will spend money else where from now on. and since customer service and quality control is piss poor, how can i expect the plates to be of good quality and do what they say they will do?!? read more

just a little pissed off. ship time was awesome. guess i got lucky with that. product is perfect but my issue is i ordered the wrong plate. contacted AR500 the next day via email and they replied asap. I wanted the build up coating and trying to see if i can sent it back for exchange or have them spray the coating and i would pay for the cost. Saw a July 4th sale on Facebook and not knowing anything about body armor decided to purchase one. Their ad stated about a 2 week lead time. I ordered during the holiday weekend before the sale ended and couldn't find an option to check out without paying shipping ( I live local ). They replied to my question on Facebook that weekend and advised me to make the purchase then contact them Monday for a shipping refund. I did so but was unable to get through on the phone as I'm busy at work and couldn't wait more than 5 minutes at a time so I gave up and forgot about it. Within the time frame they promised, Cesar emailed to let me know my order was ready and asked if I still wanted to pick it up in person. Being a novice I was glad to be able to go there where Paul showed me numerous other items available and then he and George went through my order and showed me how to install the plates and trauma pads, how the molle attachments work, and then made sure the vest was adjusted to fit me perfectly.
