We shot targets for an hour and it was amazing because we enjoyed learning new things and I was able to show my family some techniques that they don't know as they don't go to gun ranges to try out new pistols in New York City. My reason for the 4 stars is... it just would be nice if the staff would offer a quick little safety reminder of Tips to people. Even start just some basic guidelines on the rules of the facility, not necessarily how to shoot a gun, but how to be safe in the space; that way, you don't have to be spoken to, but more importantly, it would be a nice addition just to feel more comfortable. Finally, the gentleman who checked us in was attentive, knowledgeable, and a delight. I would definitely do this more when I have guest come from out of town who have never had this experience.

My wife came out of the class much more comfortable handling, loading, and shooting her pistol. The class helped me with my accuracy by giving me a few directions. Kevin and Lance gave a very good classroom portion shoeing the importance of gun safety and general knowledge. With a bit of encouragement from my friend we went. Tom is an excellent instructor. He was pleasant, patient but most importantly knowledgeable about guns and most importantly gun safety. My brother previously had attended this course and highly recommended Arizona Home Defense and Virgil. I called and spoke with the instructor, Virgil, who was able to get hubs and I booked into class the very next evening. yay! We showed up and Virgil had everyone's paperwork set up, so we could start filling everything out for the background check and fingerprints before class, which was awesome so we wouldn't have to sit there after the course to get everything done. The course itself was great -- short, sweet, to the point. Virgil gave us the information quickly and thoroughly covered required materials. He has a lot of experience/knowledge in guns overall and has a great sense of humor, however, if you offend easily, wear earmuffs or quietly bleep all the f-bombs in your head while he talks. I, personally, thought he was hilarious and the f-bombs didn't bother me (military guys use it 17 times in a sentence with 25 words, haha). After the course we got our fingerprints taken and were on our way, completed paperwork in hand (YOU have to mail the paperwork in for the CCW card but all instructions are included with your packet). I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to take a CCW class... you'll thank me later that you didn't spend an excruciating whole day training on material that Virgil can deliver to you in one evening.

DO NOT give them your money in the form of a gift certificate. If they ever respond to my messages and schedule the class, I will update my rating, but there is clearly a lack of customer service in a big way.

He taught him how to take apart his gun and what the parts were called. My son loved working will Gil and learned to properly stand and shoot a pistol and a rifle as well as hand grips. Gil also taught me things I didnt even learn in my CCW class. He is very patient and knowledgeable I would recommend him above the rest as he is very detailed. We were also offered snacks and drinks! Now thats customer service. If you want to learn the correct ways to shoot hes your guy.

He said he was nervous when he first showed up, not knowing what to expect . After meeting the other attendees (Both had already taken this class with Oz,but wanted to refresh their skills) he said he felt at ease. Oz, the instructor, was great. He offered my husband some items that he didn't have in case he needed them. After zeroing the firearms, they practiced malfunctions and did some simple drills. Oz is a great communicator and led the class at the perfect pace to absorb the material. His take away from the experience is now he feels he has the tools to practice and become more efficient at handling my rifle. He highly recommends taking a class from Oz.
