Hubby and I were out Christmas shopping and this was our first stop. We didn't expect much options because it is relatively small shop and recent gun ownership surge. We were so wrong. Lots of options here from rifles, handguns, revolvers, shotguns, knives and not to mention accessories. They also have ammo. I was surprised how expensive ammos are now but that's everywhere. Olson firearm is a full retail Gun store and also has some of the highest prices in the valley. It is a nice little store. They generally have a lot of variety and the place is clean and very presentable. Customer service is terrible probably the worst customer service I've ever had in a gun store amd I'm not your average gun buyer. I was a customer for two or so years in which I purchased a half a dozen or so weapons, multiple attachments/optics and ammunition. Recently had an issue with a rifle I bought from them and it end up having to be sent back to the manufacture after going to their gunsmith that they use. This was a six month ordeal which isn't the end of the world. Upon getting it back, I still had the same issues even running the recommended ammo that the manufacturer requested me to use. (Remind you Olsons sold me the rifle and all the ammo that was not cycling with mark up of course) I brought it back to Olson's and just specifically said I'd like to try to get my money back and immediately was met with an attitude from the owner, which is a very unprofessional individual. The owner, is a Primadonna plain and simple and clearly thinks very highly of himself and has a lot of feelings. Trust me you're not special my friend. This is not the first issue that I've had with this gun store. Even simple things such as the purchase of my Mossberg shockwave shotgun with the black aces tactical rail set up through these guys was also a nightmare. Of course it was always somebody else's fault and they had nothing but excuses. If you do decide go into this store and purchase something and Carl is working. Carl is an absolute pleasure to deal with and genuinely good man and the ONLY reason I continued to go into this store from time to time. Not anymore. Good luck if you do decide to and spend your hard earned money here. I highly recommend any of the other gun stores in the area. Mr. Guns in Cave Creek would be my number one recommendation for those of you reading this. Rich is a standup guy and will treat you with great customer service and will get you whatever you're looking for or need without hesitation for a reasonable price. read more

The fellow that helped me (sorry, I don't rember his name) was friendly and informative and didn't have an attitude about my teeny tiny amount of info on rifles. Tip top people here. Seems like I always get there when the shop is empty which makes it really easy getting in and out. Massive selection of only the good stuff. Not enough room for garbage in this little space. Probably 50% of the whole shop is ammo so you know where to go. read more

My relationship with Olsen started when I had to sell my beloved shotgun. They gave me a fair deal, and the process was seamless. Fast forward to my wedding gift day, and Aaron walked my new hub and I through what guns we needed and showed us all the basics. I thoroughly enjoy this store. It is small but they never shy away from finding what you want and ordering it for you. I know many establishments push their staff towards the SWAT (Sell What's Available Today) model, but these guys have it figured out. If they do not have it, they will find it... If they do not not know about it, they will learn about it, find it, and then call you. Gun stores are not known for their customer service but I think Olsen is changing that in their industry.
