My husband took the Carbine 1 class on Friday Sept.16 2022. He's been shooting for around 30 years and this was his first training course! He said he was nervous when he first showed up, not knowing what to expect . After meeting the other attendees (Both had already taken this class with Oz,but wanted to refresh their skills) he said he felt at ease. Oz, the instructor, was great. He offered my husband some items that he didn't have in case he needed them. After zeroing the firearms, they practiced malfunctions and did some simple drills. Oz is a great communicator and led the class at the perfect pace to absorb the material. His take away from the experience is now he feels he has the tools to practice and become more efficient at handling my rifle. He highly recommends taking a class from Oz. Before our class I had never fired a weapon. Needless to say I was a little worried but both Oz and Karin were so reassuring and took things slow and were very deliberate and clear in their instructions. Several in the group had weapons and the rest of us did not but the instructors brought several types and sizes of guns for us to try. If we decide to continue and want our own guns Karin said she would go with us to find the best gun to fit our hand, our strength and our needs. We are all looking forward to our next class! We couldn't have been more pleased and happy to have met Karin and Oz and now have taken two of their classes. Oz is such a wonderful instructor and so knowledgeable! His experience in the military and as a SWAT member and lead instructor give him a world of real life experiences to bring to his training. He takes his time with each student to insure they are understanding that particular drill and that we can achieve success with it. Oz Johnson is highly qualified and an excellent speaker. The time went by so quickly that it left me wishing the class was twice as long. I learned so much that I plan to take other courses with the Johnson Tactical Group. There was no need to bring a firearm but Oz went over firearm basics and had great tips on grip and stance. I was pleased that they include fingerprinting and accommodated me with a blank application in case I didn't have access to a printer. I and my mate wanted to take up shooting on the range. So we agreed that we should take lessons to know how to porperly opererate and safely handle our hand guns. I have not been around guns since i was in my teens deer hunting back home with my famliy. I can say that my mate is very fearful of guns from what she had heard from her friends and seen on the Tv. Now I have been thru two classes, I have found out their is more to owning guns and their proper use. Oz and Karin are very professional in how they have set up their classes and their training, its their 30yrs of experinence they had in service to our country and local law informent. I was very impressed how Oz and Karin made her feel about firing a hand gun. She smile alot on the way home knowing that fear of guns was not as big as she thought it to be. So you deal with fear with taking action about your fears. Lastly, a question that was asked in class would we be able to shoot someone to save our life?
