Italian Panini
Sandy W.

Apparently I have been here before, but for breakfast. Today we went for lunch and I ordered an Italian panini. It was just okay. Hubby ordered Cajun chicken gyro with onion rings. He thought the gyro didn't have much Cajun flavor but the onion rings were good. The service was good and the booths could use remodeling as many had rips in the cushions. If we go back, definitely would order breakfast.

Best Blueberry waffle ever!!! Only offered on weekends

Staff was so nice, i asked the waitress what she recommend the blueberry waffle or pancake she strongly suggested the waffle and I'm glad i went with her recommendation it was hands down the best waffle I've ever had! All the food we ordered was amazingly delicious!! The breakfast bowl so yummy and my husband loved his breakfast gyro! We would definitely recommend next visit to Columbus we will be dinning here! 5

There was nothing special about Ari's today. None of the food was bad. It was just mostly meh. The sausage was premade patties - possibly cooked on site...maybe not? The eggs were the best part, my scrambled eggs were actually pretty good and cooked exactly as requested. If for some crazy reason I ordered scrambled eggs and nothing else, I would have walked out thinking that's a great place. The toast was dry and had little to no butter/margarine. The home fries looked great but the did not taste good. The restaurant was clean and the server was nice. I probably won't come back again. The prices on the ticket were slightly higher than the prices on the menu. They claimed it was an extra dine-in tax, but the sales tax was also added. I'm taking off a star for that - from 3 stars down to 2.

This was a combined Roadside America / Yelp experience. There's a giant cowboy sitting on a fence waving his hat, right out front. One of those photo ops that's worth a stop. So we came for the cowboy, followed by lunch at Ari's, which was a 5 star diner experience. Clean, bright, spacious establishment, Plenty of comfy booths plus a nice curved counter. Marilyn Monroe and James Dean decor, fun theme and not overdone. Obligatory Ohio Buckeye banner was also in sight. One unobtrusive tv overlooked the counter. Service was prompt, efficient, and cheerful. Menu was quite extensive, in a true diner fashion, including the 'anytime breakfast.' I had the Greek panini, $7 and practically a meal for two. Absolutely delicious, gyro meat and trimmings on pressed ciabatta bread. Like a warm wondrous union of Greek and Italian; and the accompanying cucumber yogurt sauce was out of this world. I slathered it liberally, and it was cheerfully replenished at no extra charge. My husband had the House salad with gyro meat. Also a generous portion which he devoured and had only good things to say about it. No public wifi, alas, but that's getting to be MY problem, so no stars lost. Breakfast special listed on the chalk board was eggs, home fries, and choice of ..... Are you ready? Italian sausage or mortadella! Momma! If i lived nearby I would be here often.

Ari's Diner is on Frank Rd on the southwest side of town. I immediately loved the vibe when we walked in. Locally owned, "regulars" coming in and being greeted by name, no frills and a large menu is what I noticed at first. During the meal my coffee cup never went empty (plus 1). I had the breakfast bowl: 2 eggs, gravy, biscuit, home fries, sausage and cheese and my husband had the pig omelet- ham, bacon, sausage and cheese. Both were dynamite and we were sad when our meal was over "let's eat this all again!!" The flavors were awesome & nice sized portions. The owner sat at the bar the whole time & made sure things were running smoothly.

First time my wife and daughter stopped before our daughter headed overseas for two years in the Peace Corps. Scotty''s is super close and convenient to the airport. Scotty learned of the imminent departure and came with cookies and treats for the long flight! And now this morning it was another airport drop off. It was my turn, dining alone but nothing about a table for one at Scotty's is lonely. The staff are immediately welcoming and every customer is every employee's charge. Four different people helped me or just checked in. The Gina breakfast combos have lots to offer for breakfast. But I was thrilled this 9:30 am to be assured the whole menu was available. I was looking for something less common and was excited to see potato latkes with sour cream and apple sauce as an option. That would have been great but then the waitress (Salome maybe) said, "Do you like corned beef?" The Schmoozer is 3 enormous latkes with thinly shaved and lightly grilled corn beef on top with an over easy egg atop that. Seriously, I can declare victory for finding something I'd never had before. Never would have found it without the nudge. Had to cut myself off with all the coffee offers. Just a great vibe. You rarely see a 4.9 rating and even more rarely that high based on so many reviews. But I understand why - like in so many things in life, it is about the people. And the joy they bring to every conversation. And I will just add, in this age when some would divide us, this dining room is filled with all manner of folks, reveling together over food in fellowship.

Their baked goods are also a must-get, especially the lemon cookies and oatmeal raisin cookies! The workers were so kind and attentive and made our first experience there absolutely amazing.

Disappointing experience with the owner…read more My family has been coming here for years, and we continued supporting the restaurant even after the change in ownership. I've always enjoyed the atmosphere, the food overall, and especially the wonderful wait staff. Unfortunately, my experience today has made me reconsider returning. I ordered a medium-well steak, but it came out overcooked and extremely tough. I understand this isn't a steakhouse, as the owner, Scott, had the waitress relay to me. However, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a meal to be prepared properly, even at a casual dining establishment. The waitress was lovely, and my issue was not with her. I asked to speak with Scott about my steak, hoping to explain the problem and discuss a resolution. Instead, before I could fully explain my concern, he told me I didn't know the difference between steak temperatures and that I should have ordered it rare or medium. The steak was brown throughout, with no visible pink in the center, and the meat was extremely tough (the texture was fibrous). Again, I ordered medium-well, but the result was closer in appearance to well-done. Scott, the owner then mentioned his culinary arts education and 25 years of experience in the food industry. When I explained that I had also studied culinary arts, although it was years ago, he responded by saying, "bullsh*t.". Those years of experience hurt his case because he should have known better. Customer service skills seemed to be lacking. Honestly, that was the most disappointing part of the entire experience. I wasn't trying to be difficult, get a free meal, or argue about food. I simply wanted to address an issue with what I had ordered. Mistakes happen in restaurants, and I understand that food waste and costs are real concerns for small business owners. What I didn't expect was to be spoken to so disrespectfully when trying to have a conversation about my meal. Scott eventually refunded me, which I appreciated, but the refund didn't change how the interaction made me feel. My uncle, who is also a regular, wanted to speak up about how I had been treated, but I felt there was little point by then. It's unfortunate because I genuinely liked this place and would have continued coming back. The atmosphere is great, and the wait staff has been a big part of why my family has continued to support the business over the years. One bad meal wouldn't necessarily have stopped me from returning, but the way this situation was handled has. It's not always about what you say, but how you say it. A little patience and respectful communication could have turned a disappointing meal into a minor inconvenience. Instead, I left feeling uncomfortable about returning to a place I once enjoyed. I hope other customers have better experiences, and I genuinely wish the staff well. Unfortunately, based on my interaction with the owner, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
