Our server, who had Mexican roots, made some good suggestions for our table. There was something for everyone. The grandkids had a selection of Persian Mexican fusion tacos. Mom, my sister, my spouse, and I got Persian food favorites. My brother-in-law had a salad garnished with fruit. We enjoyed the dip trio of yogurt and hummus dips with Persian flatbread. I ordered gormeh sabzi. It was delicious and filling even without meat protein. I also ordered shirazi salad, which everyone enjoyed. My spouse ordered tahchin with chicken and fesenjoon, which our server described as a sweet "Persian mole." The Aria Margarita was good, a little on the stronger side in my opinion, but nonetheless it hit the spot. We loved the birria and chicken tacos a lot! Now you're probably wondering if it was so good, why am I only rating 2 stars?? Here's the kicker... we came in around 7ish pm, it wasn't too busy... It took a few minutes before we were seated and once we got a table, we looked through the menu but already knew what we wanted. The ambiance was nice and clean, nothing to complain about there. As we were waiting and waiting it took a while for our server to come back to our table. We saw her standing by the kitchen window on her phone. When we placed our order, my husband specifically asked for onions on the side. We were not offered chips and salsa while waiting for our food. When our order came out, first thing we noticed was piles of onions on each and every taco. This was a bummer for my husband so we spent some time fishing it out. Great service and nice atmosphere in this busy plaza, with easy underground parking or parking outside on less busy weekdays. I had the lamb koubideh taco platter at the server's suggestion and I don't think it worked as a taco, but if you just eat it like a normal koubideh platter, it's tasty with the tomato rice, side salad, onion and tomato, and tzatziki sauce. Pricing is not bad and I liked how spacious it was. I hope more people give it a try because everyone on the staff was very friendly and helpful. read more

My girl and I have come dining here regularly for the past few months as it's one of the really tasty and halal options in Irvine. The food is incredible and ambience is great. Our go to orders when dining in have been the chicken kabob plate and the half chicken plate. This was the first time we placed an online order for a wet burrito and a half chicken plate. Unfortunately, while the food tasted incredible as always, it had left me with severe stomach upset immediately after and lower GI related symptoms. I'm extremely disappointed that this had happened since I come here regularly and I caution other diners to be careful (if possible, stray say from the wet burrito and half chicken plate). I don't think I'll be returning after this experience of having GI issues from their food. read more

However it wasn't a terrible experience since we were chilling and in no rush to be served. The plating, although beautiful, lacked taste and flavor. The rice was either undercooked or left out because it was slightly hardened. The quality of the food was about 6.5-7 out of 10 for me. The prices reflect the atmosphere of the quality/taste of the food. Great place to hang out and enjoy a vibe with friend and snack on some appetizers. The Ribeye Street tacos were super fatty, the hard fat from the steak. The service was extremely slow and servers came to work later. We were ignored by the two servers that didn't pay any attention to us and when informed them that we have been waiting for half an hour before those other tables nothing was done. Their faces were like expressionless ! No life not welcoming more robotics! The price is average. Try it once out of curiosity but I prefer to go Hatam Anaheim or Naderi cafe in Irvine. Aria Kitchen is a relatively new restaurant in Irvine that serves Persian-Mexican fusion dishes. Persian and Mexican are two of my favorite cuisines so I just had to try Aria. I visited on New Year's Day and didn't have any issues getting a dinner reservation only a few hours before. There were a few other tables at the restaurant but it wasn't too busy at all. The food was fantastic. Between the four of us, we got the chicken fajitas, chicken enchilada and taco combo plate, chicken wet burrito, and filet mignon wet burrito. Everything was delicious. I personally ordered the chicken fajitas and was surprised by how much food I got. There were a ton of veggies, a decent amount of chicken, rice, beans, tortillas, chipotle aioli, guacamole, and green salsa. For $28, it felt like a steal! My only issue with the place was the service. I will fully admit that it was a holiday and they may not have had their full staff, but our waiter never came by again after taking our order. He was very nice, but had to be flagged down to get more water and to get the check. The food was so good that I won't hold the subpar service against the restaurant and will definitely be back again! read more

I was introduced to this place by a friend of mine and today we ordered the shrimp ceviche, pomegranate salad with chicken and the fish tacos grilled. We ordered the fish tacos with the lemon cilantro rice and the shrimp ceviche was so delicious I think this is going to be my new favorite place because I love the Persian food mixed with Mexican food twists. What a great combination and the server said on the weekends they have live entertainment so I'll have to go back during the weekend to check it out. Drinks were had Tamarindo margarita and the Blackberry margarita, both strong and flavorful. Second round we had ambulance chaser and guava pomegranate margarita, too sweet but good. I was not pleased with the service. The server was standing there looking around instead of giving us his attention. He didn't just do that with us, he did it with other customers. We were waiting awhile before we were able to order our 2nd drinks. The manager passed by and we were able to flag him down to tell him we wanted to order more drinks. He acknowledged us and went off, we assumed to get our waiter. Our waiter came by and was seating and taken care of a table in front of me. So I arranged our drinks at the edge of the table and was trying to make eye contact and waiting for an opportunity to ask him. My husband decided to go the bar since our food arrived and we had no drinks and the waiter was still occupied with the other customers. Waiter did not acknowledge me and led the opposite way for me to call him. My husband came back and had 2 drinks for us. About 3 minutes after our waiter comes with the 2 drinks we ordered the first time. We informed him what happened and we weren't charged. A great atmosphere and amazing food and drinks. Incorrect liquors and wrong drinks given to the wrong guest. My friend ordered an old fashioned and what arrived was very clearly not an old fashioned and we asked the waiter several times but he insisted and said "that's the way we do it". It had mezcal in it... Our food orders also came out incorrect. Requested all rice and no beans (received all beans, no rice). Friend ordered a shrimp dish that came with vegetables. Came here the week after grand opening-- an hour before closing-- starving and a little bit inebriated already-- was greeted instantly with a man dressed like he birthed this place just standing outside this perfectly, visibly empty restaurant. There was one big table and us. Separate but equal but sober and vegetarian. Sitting directly across from the bar and alcohol displays-- colors and logos are perfect. Just beautifully decorated and the menu looked just extensive enough to be slightly overwhelmed. Lots of great choices for all food diets or preferences and truly-- I do feel bad for not being a drinker with fat pockets and big bladder-- but not for nothing-- the food was delicious. Everything hit the right notes of citrus, fat, texture, portion-- love it. The chefs need to know to keep up the fantastic work. It may be a lot of work having to prep with fresh ingredients when the restaurant is new but you've hit it out of the park. Do not change a thing. The salsa was so yummy. I'd forgotten how much I was going back for seconds to save room for the guac and eggplant hummus. Even if you're not full of carrots, this still is YUMMY. And two things of sliced warm whole wheat pita-- yes please. I'm not Persian so I can't say how authentic it is but I definitely can eat this daily. Lots of options for vegans and vegetarians as well as carnivores or alcohol based life forms who thrives on tequila. And tacos-- warm corn tortillas- I love it. And the beans are so creamy and black-- just like your morning coffee and chunks of feta just waving hello.
