Went in for a smog check without an appointment and was seen right away! The whole process from checking in to being complete was no more than 10-15 mins so a relatively quick in and out experience. Friendly staff and will definitely be coming back! read more

Needed a smog check and this place was close to the DMV and open and fast! Also, the guy is like the nicest person on the planet. He was super sweet to the couple before me. He was super nice to me. And when he saw a homeless guy walk buy, he ran to the fridge, put a few items in a bag and ran after the guy to offer him some food. I didn't know people like this existed anymore. read more

Highly recommend! A very easy smog experience (unless your car does not pass smog obviously;but that's your issue). I've taken my whole family's cars here for the past five years never been here longer than 20 minutes. If your car fails, You can bring It back within 30 days & resmog it for half price $40 (cash only). read more

Yes it was indeed quick but for my car it was almost 80 dollars. Absolutely insane if you ask me. just did it because i was looking for something quick as the last day to do it came up. had a small car i imagine what a truck or bigger car would be. read more

with so many smog places around i had no idea which one would be good, so i just went to closest one from me. and i am so glad i did. i got my '97 toyota camry smogged there and the guy (Robert) was quick and honest. i would take any car there to get it done! the best smog check place i know now is arco smog test only! read more

Found them on Yelp and it was close to home. Got there and was greeted by a very nice man by the name of Robert. He was kind , polite and efficient. I was literally in and out in like 10 mins. I've taken my car to get a smog check at this place 3 times over the years and have always dealt with friendly staff during that process. I've also purchased propane as well as regular car gas so I've used just about every service they have to offer, including buying snacks in their mini mart! Arco always has competitive prices and this one is definitely a busy location because it's one of the last gas stations on Reseda as you head north to the 118 Freeway. Being that CSUN is just down the street and Reseda being a major thoroughfare for CSUN students who commute, this Arco is ALWAYS busy during normal daytime hours and even on into the night so be prepared to wait a few mins to get your turn! read more

This is the Second time I have shown up (@530) the door was locked and there was no sign off the attendant. I called the 24 hour number but it went to voice mail so myself and the three other cars after waiting a while left. What ever happened to putting a sign that said be back in 5 minutes? Are we supposed to wait all day at the door and wait for the attendant to come around and get us out of the heat? I wouldn't care but I have to go inside to swipe my ATM to fuel up at ARCO. If you're looking for a dependable and CHEAP gas station that is never closed in the middle of the day go to the ARCO on BALBOA & PARTHENIA next to BOFA ... skip this one !!! read more

This smog check place does a fine job. Sometimes they get busy, but I can ususally just drive over and get it done as a walk in. Price is slightly below average. As far as I remember they did not charge extra for pickups vs cars. read more

Great smog shop in Northridge! Robert was incredibly friendly and lovely to deal with...was in & out in less than 15 minutes! Parking lot is a tight squeeze since it shares the space with the Arco gas station at the busy corner of Devonshire & Reseda (which gets lines of cars waiting for the pumps) but he was nice enough to help me back out & I was on my way. Convenient location, fair price & good customer service! read more

Came here last minute because the other place I opted for was closed...mid-day, during the week no less :( Anyhow, service was EXCELLENT and the pricing was reasonable; was in and out of there in about half an hour and on my way to AAA to get my tags. YAY! :) read more

It's a pretty average gas station. I haven't encountered many issues with this station. The prices are usually fairly lower compared to other Arcos in the area. May not be the cheapest at times but certainly a more fair deal. read more

Robert was quick(less than 15 minutes), knowledgeable, and friendly. The place is also open until 7 pm, STAR certified, and you don't need an appointment! Highly recommended. Robert even gave advice on anything he noticed on the car separate from the smog, something the Honda specific dealer missed less than 500 miles ago on my car. read more

I have had my Jeep smog done here one time but I would do it again without hesitation. Everyone was very professional and friendly. My Jeep is not stock and other shops gave me a hard time or flat out would not smog it. These guys took maybe 15 minutes which is good time for a smog. I would recommend others to go here. read more

I learned later on that those two services were not even necessary and were only offered to upsell gullible customers like me. Joe has worked on my car for small items like brakes and oil changes all the way up to getting some check engine light issues fixed. Pricing is always great. Brought my car here for a diagnostic thinking the issue was one thing only to find out "no, you don't need that," and saved me a bunch of money I would have likely spent elsewhere. He didn't push me to fix anything that didn't need fixing and pointed out a few things that were old that I might want replaced so I just took all his suggestions because it's a very old car and it needed some extra care. I went in for transmission fluid change earlier in February in my Toyota Camry 2018. I bought OEM Toyota transmission fluid and asked Joe to help do drain and fill.The drain and fill was completed. After that there was a rough driving issues started. I went back to show my car to joe and he drove the car he told me he don't see any issues. I wanted him to check transmission fluid port on if there is low transmission fluid he didn't agree and told me I might be overthinking. I went to different mechanic in April and he checked. I paid $100 to reopen the port for transmission fluid and what we saw was no fluid came out from the primary port. He added 0.5 quarters left. The issues I have had for rough idle and need to have higher RPM on slope went away completely.According to him you have to keep the car running when you drain the fluid and you need to have it at the right temperature he said the drain and fill wasn't done correctly that's why there was still room for fluid. The viscosity of the fluid makes a difference in how much you can fill and drain. He double checked for leakage and there were no leaks either. When I went to joe and asked about don't you have to keep car warm to see if temperature is right? He said you only do it when there is a leak. I don't think Joe knew enough about mechanics of New car. I wasn't overthinking when I went to ask Joe for help and asked to recheck the transmission fluid. I paid $260 for labor only( $160 to Joe and $100 to another mechanic) for same job. It's really absurd. Overall this could have damaged my transmission. I think for future the customer advise should be taken seriously. I know my car well so I know when it's not acting good. I have been driving it from 10 years.
