Yes the owner is nice, but he is a over priced. I have always paid less than $50 to get my cars smogged. 2000 or newer cars are just plugged in for the test. I recently had another car smogged for $44.75. It failed because I had just changed the battery and not driven it. They said I could retest for free within 30 days. Fair enough. I needed to test another car and noticed this smog station only blocks from my house. So I went in and asked him to smog my car. He took me right away and I was done in 10 minutes. I didn't even ask or look at how much he charged believing there was a standard fee. Then I saw a charge for $108! I went back and asked him how much he charges. He said it depends on the car. No it doesn't. Now I know, it depends on the shop. The shop I went to before was on Sepulveda near Saticoy (across from Western bagel). The other is on Sherman Way and Sepulveda. I almost always use him, but he was closed. They both charge $45 for a smog. Ask how much they charge before you get it done. It's not the same everywhere. read more

I took my car in for the annual smog check. The owner asked me if I had disconnected the battery to which I responded, yes. I had just had my car repaired and a few things replaced. He told me that the car failed every portion of the test. He recommended that I drive the car for at least 100 miles by driving the car on the 118, to and from Simi Valley in the late night and early morning, so it can run at a consistent speed and the cars computer can recalibrate. He is willing to test it as many times as it takes and once it passes I just pay a 1x retest fee, which is reasonable. Glad I came here. read more

Went here due to the reviews on Yelp. Alton did not disappoint. I drove in not sure where to go , his bay is at the end of the auto repair place. I didn't have an appointment and he took me right away. 10 min and I was good to go. Smog tests have come a long way. He was super nice and I will be going back to him for all my smog test needs. First time here for a smog check, was trying to find one local since i live nearby, checked yelp and found this place. Alton was super friendly and when I was rolling in he totally greeted me and told me the wait time. Which was pretty good for a Saturday, So I waited not too long and he checked my ride out and it failed but he told me what i needed to do to get it to pass. Really honest guy and very friendly. Would definitely recommend this place if you need to smog your ride. The shop is located at the end of the driveway. You can pull into it from woodley street and his is the shop at the end. If you have some people ahead of you, you can park into the alley near by and wait. Would definitely be back here again read more

I've lived in the valley for years, passed this place constantly, and have never visited to get my car smog checked here. That was my mistake. Located on Woodley at the end of an auto repair building across from Taco Bell is where this is located. I was unsure of trying to go here. Again my mistake. Alton, the owner, is one of the friendliest and most knowledgeable people regarding smog checks and vehicles. He's honest, down to earth, and is a general overall stand-up guy. Elton the owner is very knowledgable and has super great customer service. My car, a 2007 BMW Z4 Mcoupe, did not pass the first time because it was just fixed and the codes had not reappeared yet. Elton told me exactly what to do to clear the codes and said when I come back he will first check to see if codes are ready before doing anything so he doesn't waste my time. I paid for the initial test, but since no smog cert I did not pay for that the 1st time. Upon return I passed and paid the other $10 for the smog cert. Thank Elton for such great service! read more
