Omelet Plate with Curry and Sesame Side Salad
Graham M.

I recently stopped by Arcane Maid Cafe, and I'm giving it a well-deserved 5 stars! It's a genuinely fun, unique spot that brings a great slice of Akihabara cafe culture right to the area. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, and everyone working there was so nice. We were served by a wonderful Caucasian maid, and we also noticed a cute Korean maid taking care of some other tables--the whole staff was super friendly and really added to the charming, positive vibe of the cafe. One thing that really stood out to me was their retail section. They have a surprisingly solid selection of Japanese trading card games like Weiss Schwarz, Hololive, and Pokémon, alongside some manga. It's an awesome touch if you're a fan of the hobby or just want something interesting to browse while waiting for your order. As for the food, I had to try the classic maid cafe staple: the omurice. I ordered the curry omurice, complete with the signature cute ketchup art drawn right on the egg. It was hearty, flavorful, and definitely hit the spot. We also tried a couple of their specialty iced espresso drinks, including the tiramisu latte. They were topped generously with whipped cream and tasty crumbles. The drinks are definitely on the richer, sweeter side, making them feel like a dessert in themselves. If you're into Japanese gaming and anime culture, or just looking for a cafe experience that's a bit out of the ordinary with fantastic service and indulgent drinks, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

Omurice and pork katsu

Came in on a late Saturday afternoon and there was one other table seated. The waitress dressed in a maid outfit handed us menus and proceeded to talk with the other table at length. I had to ring the bell for her to acknowledge us again to take our order. We ordered the omurice and pork katsu. The omurice was a poor impression of one and rather just a hard omelette with rice inside paired with curry. The pork katsu was crispy and juicy. I think overall it's an okay experience that I don't think much of and would not really need to return to. Fast service otherwise and there was parking in the small lot.

We had an anime themed doll event there, and it was a fun experience. The maids and staff were great hosts, and went far and above what we expected in serving and interactions. The food was great and tasty, well worth the price. The cafe is a great place to host themed events, and we'll definitely return again soon.

I came here for a special event for a doll club, and we packed the place. The staff was super friendly and enthusiastic and the atmosphere was fun and cute! The special event was a tea party so we got little sandwiches and pastries as well as a drink. My friend and I opted for a fancy lemonade instead of tea, and I loved everything. Arcadia is a little far for me to drive, so I might not come here very often, but it's cool that they'll do special events like this. Because this was a special event the maids didn't do special stuff with our food, and there weren't any maid activities, but that didn't detract from my enjoyment. I would highly recommend this cafe!

This was such a cute place to visit. As soon as you step in, you're already surrounded with cute decor, a stage in the back of the store, and to the right you have shelves of merch that you can buy. If you're looking for one of those idol pen lights, I highly recommend buying it here. It's $20 for one, and $36 for two, which is actually very affordable if you compare it to the ones you usually see at Japanese concerts (Last one I saw was $40 for one). Menu wise, very maid cafe, had cute pictures, easy to read and visualize. But the math didn't really math for me. Unless you're going for the Akihabara combo, the other two combos are more expensive than if you order separately. I only wanted the kawaii sunrise fruit tea and a curry with rice plus the maid polaroid, so it actually added up to around $25 for me, the combo is $28. Small hiccup, but not a big deal as I was able to math it out in my head before ordering. Food review time. The Otaku Okonomi fries were amazing, highly recommend. And despite being a starter, it's actually very filling and goes well with any of the drinks. The curry I ordered was slightly disappointing. It's just curry and rice, there's nothing in the curry though. If I'm not mistaken, this may be able to be considered vegetarian since I don't think it had a single piece of meat in it. So it wasn't enough to satisfy my hunger. Not even carrots or potatoes in it. Just the curry sauce. We also order a parfait. Parfait exceeded my expectations. There was so many textures in there, it was easy to get my cravings for crunchy, chewy, sweet, etc, every thing was covered. The fries and the parfait were my favorite of the meal. Drinks were also winners. Onto the cute polaroid, it's only $5 and if you want a cute souvenir, it's a great choice. Very cute, you get to stand on the stage and take a cute picture with your maid and their props. I appreciate that they allow us to take group photos for the polaroid, but keep in mind if everyone in the group wants a picture, it's $5 per picture printing. Still really worth it. They also decorated the picture so it's now added to my polaroid album. Can't wait to see them at another event!

First time trying this café. The staff was kind and welcoming. There happened to be a pop-up with a special menu. However, we tried the original menu items. We just ordered two teas. We were happy with a fun experience. We are definitely gonna try and bring some friends to enjoy it next time. There was lots of groups chatting and enjoying their time.

This location was picked because (it was closer) and the smaller stores are more chill. This anime come-to-life dining experience hit the spot, as did the food. I'm of the impression event eateries are front-loaded and the food takes a back seat, but not so much here. Basically, the meals matched the experience! Like I said, there's bigger venues with lots more going on of this ilk but our experience at this one was to our satisfaction. Try it, you might like it! Our server make sure our experience was one for the books, to which our daughter was more than happy with. From the cat ears tiara, to the custom food drawings it was a fabulous cat-thas-trophy! Her fave thing was the picture she took with the server on stage.

Thank you for a pleasant experience. My friend and I visited for the first time. The food was delicious, especially the omurice paired with the sesame salad and curry. The maid drew an adorable cat on my omurice and a bunny on my friend's omurice. The taro milk teas were scrumptious as well, but the star of the show was the neko parfait. I loved all the different textures particularly the ice cream, granola, and jam. My friend loved her waffle. At the end, we took a Polaroid with the maid. The food came out fast and the maid was nice and attentive. Thank you!

Phase connect collab

Honestly a little odd to me! The maids were cute but not really seemingly upbeat as the usual maids I've seen. I do know there are different types though so that's okay. It's a bit small, and they have merch there but I do like how it's seasonally decorated with events and activities. I heard that the girls themselves do it too so I admire that!! The food was fine. I loved that there was a large menu but I think some things weren't available? Whatever was available kinda came out a bit better than I expected, and with their phase connect event, I was able to enjoy other parts of the meal as well! Overall a nice place, just quiet and not super "magical" like other maid places. Oh wait, almost forgot: TERRIBLE PARKING GET DROPPED OFF

Subaru's fried chicken set

Came here for the hololive popup cafe. The interior was very chic, Dl and the themed decorations were on point, and all the workers were very friendly and helpful. I got the blacksmith tea and the karaage set. The tea was very tasty, with a flavor somewhat reminiscent of gushers. Not what I was expecting, but it was surprisingly pleasant. The karaage was a little greasy and the batter had a squishier texture than what I'm used to, but the chicken itself was plump and juicy, and the flavor wasn't bad. I honestly wasn't expecting much since this is typically a maid cafe, but the food actually had some effort put into it. Pretty nice, would definitely consider coming again.

There's a cute maid themed cafe located in Arcadia California and it's called Arcane Maid Cafe. I walked over while getting my car was getting serviced on. It's a very clean and spacious cafe that offers beverages, snacks, entrees, and desserts. The staff is here is friendly, and the store features a lot of anime related merchandise for sale. I ordered a milk tea and it was quite delicious! I'll definitely be back to try the food dishes when I get a chance.

Omurice with cat ketchup drawing
Linda L.

This is arguably the better maid cafe, in terms of tasty food, that I've tried in Arcadia. The omurice was tasty and flavorful, it hardly needed the curry even though it adds more depth. The pork katsu was deliciously crispy and also worked harmoniously with the curry. The affogato was very fun, but I needed to add a shot of espresso because they're so generous with the ice cream. The drinks were yummy, but I do think the neko parfait needs something crunchy for added texture. The interior is super cute & I wish I got more pics against the wall with the cat windows, but I was seated on the other side. Service was sweet and nice, but more on the quiet side and not as cute as the other cafe in Arcadia. I think this is due to me coming earlier before the lunch rush so there was only one maid doing it all so we didn't want to overwhelm her. Would go again for the nommy noms & to check out how the night time vibes are

Such a cute Maid cafe experience. The food wasn't bad as well! It's in a small plaza with a few parking spots but we parked in the back. I didn't get to experience a maid cafe in Japan, and when I heard about this place it was perfect to check it out! The interior of the place was well decorated with a 2D look, and everything was so cutesy. There are different package options on the menu but we just ordered the food without the maid experience that would've included photo ops and going on stage. The maid was extremely nice and taught us to ring the bell if we need them. She also taught us a cute song to "bless our food" with love . She asked what we want her to draw on our omurice and she drew a cute cat as we requested. They all looked shy and don't want to be part of any pictures but I asked before I took a photo of her !

The attention to detail here is awesome. They have wanted posters plastering the walls, but the absolute highlight is the dedicated seating section designed to look like you're aboard the Thousand Sunny. The dynamic background behind the "windows" really elevates the immersion, shifting to make you feel like you're actively sailing the Grand Line. It's a must-sit area if you can snag a table. They also have an awesome selection of exclusive cafe merch near the front register. We ordered a big spread, and the kitchen generally exceeded my expectations for a novelty cafe: -Luffy's Red Hawk Popcorn Chicken: The chicken was perfectly crispy, but it's the tangy sweet and sour sauce coating it that makes it incredibly flavorful. -Zoro's Onigiri (Kimchi Spam): These triangles are huge! They serve them warm, and the savory spam balanced by the punchy, tangy kimchi makes it incredibly filling and a great value. -Gum Gum Ube Horchata: Visually stunning with that classic ube purple swirl, but flavor-wise, it mostly just tasted like a standard cinnamon-forward horchata. It's perfectly sweet and creamy, though the earthy ube flavor gets a bit lost. -Robin's Flower-Flower Power Refresher: True to its name, this is very flowery. It's a beautiful layered mix of blueberry lavender lemonade and butterfly pea flower tea. -Franky's Coke-a-Cola Ice Cream Float: A good ol' fashioned float that can't be beat!

Crispy chicken, soft rice and tantalizing sauce. The typical combination won't be boring as the thrill of getting something named after your favorite character was way too awesome. Happy hour is M-F that discounted certain food and drink. If you are coming from west side of LA, you will probably pass fashion district, a cluster of flower shops and wholesale centers, the whole nine yards of shady and seedy until you reach little Tokyo, where one piece is located. The extended part of the area is sketchy, use common sense. Parking can be had in a cement two story garage structure in 7-8 min. walk from the cafe. First two hours is free. We never liked the "entrance fee" that I obviously know about and I stand by what I said: ADULTS ARE FORCED TO ORDER THEIR SUBPAR OVERPRICED FOOD FOR ENTRY aside from the entrance fee for their kids. The SGV eats post - I wasn't talking about one post. Geraldyne has posted several times and most of those times people have chimed in with their experiences and she removed her entire posts so people won't find the comments. Once again, trust the low star ratings. If you read them, you'll see a lot of them echo what I've posted here. --- If you have a toddler or a young kid, avoid this place. Read the lower rated reviews, because those paint a more accurate picture than glowing reviews from people who got discounts to this place. Adults are forced to order a meal as an entrance fee, and all the choices are subpar and overpriced. There was only one lovely staff member, an African American woman that unfortunately seemed to have left, because everyone else were not friendly nor helpful, and are barely present. The husband who supposedly cooks the meal made the driest, toughest, inedible steak salad and I couldn't even get help with my meal because there was no staff around to help, and whenever the husband came out, he would just be zipping in and out so fast I couldn't even catch him, and I couldn't leave my daughter by herself. The food choices for kids are also subpar. The play area itself is also subpar. There's very little options to play with, and whatever is there are mostly broken toys or have missing parts. The "separate" area for younger kids are always a huge mess to the point where it's safer for a 1-2 yr old to be in the general area with how disorganized it is. It's nothing but an afterthought, and bigger kids go there to mess up that area all the time No one really goes to clean up or check the play areas periodically, so even though it's part of their "rules", you see kids throwing toys at other kids, kids leaving messes around, etc. The positive reviews about these place are probably from people who've only been there once and have had some sort of discount. As a previous repeat customer who tried to give this place multiple chances, it is nothing but a cash-grab by greedy owners who care nothing about kids. The owner, Geraldine, also loves to promote her business on Facebook groups, and even whine about lack of "support" from people, but when previous customers try to make suggestions or anything remotely resembling a valid criticism, she'll remove the post so no one sees it. It's very dishonest, and shows what kind of people run this business. There are better places to go to entertain kids in SGV, don't waste your time and money here.

I came here with my two friends because we love Hello Kitty and wanted to check it out! I've been to multiple of their locations before, so I had an idea of what to expect - however, if you don't, then here is a run down. It's located in Universal City Walk, which means Universal Studios parking (with validation from AMC) and neighbors Hot Topic, Ben n Jerry's, and a few other fun shops. A lot of tourists are typically on City Walk, as well as people on their way to and from Universal Studios. There tends to be a lot of people no matter the day (for the most part). The cafe doesn't have an inside - so no indoor seating, but they have a small outdoor area that is slightly gated off with some chairs and tables for the cafe specifically. If they're packed, though, most people sit on the wall on the side, or try to find seating somewhere else, although it's nearly impossible. Universal City Walk has a restroom, but Hello Kitty And Friends Cafe does not. Additionally, their menu is pretty limited. This cafe is really a niche spot for people to take their photos and get an Instagram worthy treat. Out of all the food treats, there are no dairy-free and/or gluten-free items. The items they did have featured a mini slice of chocolate cake, a birthday cake, macaroons, and a couple more items. All of the food is premade and comes from a bag, so don't expect anything super amazing. They did have good drinks, though. We got two different types of drinks, my friend and I both getting the same one, being an electric blue lemonade. The drinks were tasty and we'd definitely at least get those again! If you like or even LOVE Hello Kitty, then this location could be worth checking out! If you're willing to make a day out of it at Universal City Walk, or even Universal Studios, then it can be a fun addition! I wouldn't center your entire day around here, as it is a pretty fast grab-and-go style place with no indoor seating, but some seating right in front. The aesthetic for the store's front at least is super cute. Gluten-free and/or dairy-free? Be cautious and just get a drink from them. If you've never been to any of the Hello Kitty And Friends Cafes, then definitely go to this one if the opportunity arises! It kept hissing and nipping and her and flicking its tail and she just laughed and kept touching it and throwing a mouse toy at its face. It hurt to watch. I wish that patrons were given more instruction on how to approach cats, maybe a little card with some Do's and Don'ts. Not everyone has played with a cat before. Unfortunately the cafe is closing the physical cafe in March 2026 and I decided to give this place a visit before the shop disappears. [Parking]: Usually the parking lot is pretty empty, but Fujiwara Tofu Cafe hosted the very last Park & Bark event (cars & dogs meetup with the shop's corgi - Hachi) so the lot was packed with customized Japanese cars. I came early enough & found one available spot to park. [Atmosphere]: S-tier interior decor as the entire cafe went all out on the whole Initial D theme from chairs, tables, countertops, merchandise, posters, signs, and glass cases of memorabilia. They even had Gashapon machines ($2.00 = 1 Gashapon token) and two Initial D Arcade Stage Version 3 machines (one machine was out of service). [Ordering]: Customers must order via kiosks and the shop only accepts credit cards (the shop does not accept cash). I came on a bad day as the Park & Bark event attracted a small crowd and I waited 40 minutes before my ordering number was called. The staff said they ran out of specific ingredient for tofu pudding and I ended up requesting to cancel my tofu pudding order. [Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items are Fried Tofu and Brown Sugar Tofu. They offer Fujiwara Tofu Cafe paper bag for an extra $0.25 if customers need their items bagged. *** Fujiwara Fried Tofu (came with sweet and sour sauce - $6.86): Tofu pieces were actually fried quite nicely, but portion was pretty small. Fujiwara Plain Soymilk ($5.86): Soymilk itself tasted alright and didn't taste very concentrated, but I was disappointed that the plastic cup didn't have the signature "Fujiwara Tofu Cafe" logo on it. *** While I am a huge fan on the overall Initial D theme decor and merchandise, I have to give a big thumb down on slow service + small snack portion + ran out of multiple food/drink items.

The staff at CatCafe Lounge and the foster were very helpful and responsive to all of my questions during the process. I've been to CatCafe Lounge about 6-7 times within these last few years, and was at their West LA location before they moved to Venice Beach. CatCafe Lounge has been my top 3 cat rescue cafe/shelters to go to in the SoCal area as a huge cat lover. During my first time at the West LA location, I was surprised to see that they transformed the outside space into a catio! It was the first I've ever seen in the 10+ shelters/cafes I've been to. Even after the move, the lounge setup was adorable and clean and had many tunnels, towers, and beds for the cats - making great use of the space in their new Venice location while also being a great source of enrichment for the cats. Both the kitten and main lounge housed many kittens/cats over the years, and they all seemed so content and well-taken care of. Most were well-mannered and very friendly to visitors. I'm so grateful to have adopted my little one here, knowing she was so well socialized and taken care of during her time at the lounge. Hugs, cuddles, and kisses from Madeline!

Why would you want to take these cats away from here they're living the life. But I don't understand how all the cats are so calm. I don't know if they're giving them like cat nip 24/7 or something but if I was a cat, I would not be OK with so many people in and out petting me all day. not sure how I feel about this place. The cats are cute though, and the staff is very friendly. last thing do noooot book for an hour you only need 30 mins to see and connect with all the cats they have. it's quite small

Tekosu in Arcadia has become a reliable spot for us whenever we're craving a biscoff latte or…read morematcha latte. Those are our usual orders, and both have consistently delivered on flavor. It's nice to have a place where we can order our favorites and know we're going to enjoy them each time. What keeps us coming back is the consistency. With other coffee shops, a drink can be great one visit and noticeably different the next, but our experience with Tekosu has been dependable. Neither drink has felt like a hit-or-miss order, and that makes a difference when you're spending money on something you're looking forward to. The pricing is similar to other coffee shops in the area, so I wouldn't necessarily call it a bargain, but I'm happy to pay a little more for a drink that meets my expectations. I'd rather spend money on something I know I'll enjoy than take a chance and leave disappointed. Overall, Tekosu is an easy choice for us. If you enjoy biscoff lattes or matcha lattes, I'd definitely recommend giving them a try. Both have been solid go-to orders that keep us coming back.

My friend and I ordered their Coconut Matcha Cloud and Matcha Sweet Cream Top. Now i'm usually not a fan of the coconut water matchas that have been trending but this place definitely does it nicely! After stirring the matcha with the coconut water, it makes a refreshing drink for any hot day in the SGV. The more class matcha latte was also great, loved the color and foamy cream top. The interior is pretty minimalist, white walls with white marble tables, a good place to lock in a focus on some work. There were a good amount of people in there on their laptops.
