Jesse with Arborvision came out and trimmed my palm trees today. He was professional and courteous and did the job neatly and for a fair price. Many tree trimmers will cancel if there is the slightest problem. Jesse had a challenging day, besides the heat, because his phone wasn't working. He notified me that he would be a little late, by email, but still took care of business with a friendly, positive attitude! I wish that everyone shared this work ethic! read more

Unfortunately- after 9 years, I need to update this review. The owner has gone from caring about trees to... not sure what. I called him out for advice and he (for some reason) snapped. I am not sure if I offended him or what. Bottom line: his messages went from supportive to forgetting who I was to cheerful then flat out said "I am not interested in trimming your tree". Bizarre & unfortunate. I will update this review if he ever makes right or explains his irrational behavior. read more

After being chased up a very tall palm, a neighborhood cat got himself stuck at the top for two days before we heard his cries. After a couple of calls we were directed to Jesse and Arborvision to help. And he did! Jesse quickly climbed the tree and gently grabbed the cat, secured him in a carrier around his waist and bring him back down. Jesse was patient and calm with the cat to ensure he was spooked, as well as took time to secure himself and the cat bag carefully. Jesse is personable and easy to work with. My roommate and I had some serious trouble getting any tree service to come out for our small job (a few palm trees and an olive tree) before the monsoon season began. Call after call we were turned down and in a pickle. One morning, I noticed our neighbor had a tree service over to work on their mesquite. Up in the tree was Jesse, deftly and expertly navigating the branches of this tree, thinning it as he went along. All of this without gaffs/spikes, so as to protect the tree. I asked the ground crew if it would be possible to have a look at our situation if they had time after their current job and they said they'd ask their boss (Jesse, up in the tree) as soon as he came down. Not more than 10 minutes went by and Jesse was knocking on my door and agreed to do a bid on the spot. His prices were very reasonable and he even saved us some money by reassuring us that our olive tree didn't even need any trimming. In fact, he gave me some pointers on how to make it healthier (which I appreciated very much). It didn't take them more than 40 min to complete the job and clean up. Great service! I needed a large brunch cut out of my extremely large Aleppo pine....Jesse roped himself up there like it was nothing, cut my damaged branch piece by piece while tying each section off and lowering it to the ground, safely and well controlled. He's got some skills, for sure, and possible some Tarzan blood running through him...he even accommodated me on the weekend, so I could be witness to his awesomeness! My indoor only cat escaped and went missing very early Friday morning, and I spent 36 hours searching for him, only to discover him 30' up a palm tree on Saturday night, scared out of his mind. I called the fire department- they couldn't help. I called AZ Humane society- they could help, but we were not a priority and it wouldn't be until the next afternoon at the earliest that they could come out. Then I started calling tree trimmers. First one told me to call Dave, but Dave said he was too old to do cat rescue anymore- so he told me to call Jesse with Arborvision. I did, and boy was I relieved when he said he would help... but not until the next morning, and to call after 8:30am if my cat was still stuck. It was a REALLY tough 12 hours, wondering if he would die of thirst and/or fall out of the tree and onto the hard ground or brick wall beneath him- but at least I finally had some hope. So I went to bed, and slept for the first time all weekend. The next morning, I waited until 8:30am, and called Jesse. No answer. Left a message, and went over to my neighbor's house to wait. He never even called us back! I mean, who does that? At least call us back and say "you know what, I'm sorry- I can't make it- but maybe here's someone else you can try." We would have been understanding- life happens. But nope- not even a courtesy text. We tried several other resources on our own, with no luck for hours- as my poor black cat roasted in the afternoon sun. Thankfully, we found a neighbor who happened to be an out of work tree trimmer to help out. He received a few hundred dollars from me, and he didn't even ask for it- he was a true hero. Needed a large dying tree removed. Called about 6 places that were well reviewed on yelp. I wouldn't get a quote from anyone who couldn't show me proof of insurance and experience. Arborvision is insure including workmans comp. the quote they gave was the 2nd to highest- and more expensive by almost 700$ than the service we ended up going with. Money isn't everything (though 700$ is a lot) so here is why else we didn't choose this business: late arrival for scheduled quote appt, self congratulatory while putting other businesses (not by name) down, and quoting me 1 price in person then emailing me a price hundreds higher without explanation other than "oh did I say that? Ok we could go with that". Very nice guy, friendly to our dogs and clearly an experienced tree lover, just not our final choice. read more

After having a large limb torn from our acacia tree which partly landed on a neighbor's house, I looked on Yelp for help. Seeing many 5 star reviews for Arborvision Tree Service I called on Sunday morning even though the info said they were closed on Sundays. I left a voice mail and received a return call from Jesse within 5 minutes. Jesse is the owner. He asked several pertinent questions and said he could be at my house within 90 minutes to take a look. 75 minutes late he pulled up with all equipment in tow. Jesse assessed the damage tot the tree, calculated the time and price to complete the job and set to work. For the next several hours he rigged, braced and climbed...like an acrobat, and expertly did the job. Removing a 1000lb limb risked additional damage to my house or my neighbors house if not carefully done. Jesse made it look easy. Within a few hours, the limb was gone and the property of my neighbor and my self was clean as before the storm! We've got a huge, 90-foot, eucalyptus tree that needs annual thinning to prevent large branches from falling on our house/patio. Jessie and his crew come out each year for the job, which is extra technical because of the climbing involved. The tree overhangs not only the home but also a block wall and the power line to the house, which requires extra care when thinning so as not to cause any damage with falling branches. We've used Arborvision since buying our home six years ago. We've tried two other providers, one that actually trimmed the tree and one that simply provided an estimate. The other company that trimmed the tree was professional, but charged approximately $350 more than Arborvision. The company we called for an estimate was clearly not as professional or educated on the care of such trees and we declined the service. The estimate we received from this company was also close to amount charged by Arborvision but the contractor was concerned about how to get a lift into the tree. Jesse and his crew at Arborvision don't have that concern because they use ropes to climb the tree and to lower the larger branches to the ground to prevent damage. It was clear the company with the lift was not going to worry about where the branches fell and also wasn't going to be able to reach the entire tree. We continue to use Arborvision because of the quality of the work and competitive pricing. read more

Jesse Huffman and his team are the best. I am in a wheelchair and cannot walk. My husband is my caregiver, pool cleaner and yardman. However, He has an infection in his foot and cannot get out to trim the trees. Jesse sent his team and before you know it the mesquite tree on our front yard was trimmed from the inside out. I had one very large tree in my backyard that required removal and another tree that needed a large trim. Both trees were hanging over my neighbors' yards and needed attention. I called 3 different tree companies and none of them responded to the voicemail and email messages I left. I looked online and found Arborvision who had many good reviews. i called the number and left a message. Within 30 minutes Jesse returned my phone call and we set up a time for him to come over and give an estimate that same week. Jesse looked at both trees and explained the good qualities of both. He listened to my issues with them and gave me a few different options. Jesse was very knowledgable about both trees and wanted to do what was best for them while keeping the natural look. He gave me a rough estimate that day and within hours sent over an emailed copy of the estimate. After receiving the estimate, I made an appointment to complete the task. Jesse's crew did an amazing job with both of my trees. The one I chose to cut down looked to be challenging. Much of the tree was over my neighbors yard and he made sure to be very careful not to disturb anything on that side of the fence. After the tree was cut to the stump, the other tree needed trimming. When his crew left that day, my backyard was in better shape than it was before they arrived. Leaves were raked, blown, and thrown away. My entire patio looked spotless. My neighbors and I were very happy with the result. I was able to contact Jesse at any time via phone or email and received a timely response. I am very happy with my experience with Arborvision and I would definitely recommend them to anyone. read more
