Andy was extremely knowledgeable and provided a competitive quote. He even identified some sooty canker in my ficus in the back yard well before it was showing signs of illness. There's a decent chance he and his crew saved or at least greatly extended the life of the tree by catching it so early. The crew was fastidious in their clean up as well, catching branches with rakes to prevent them from hitting the pool. My backyard was cleaner after they left than before they came. For my ficus hedge they hand pruned it vs running clippers. I got 4 quotes and they landed right in the middle cost wise and Andy was one of the most knowledgeable of the arborists that came out. I have a background in forest ecology and gardening and he never once tried to BS and even taught me a few things. I will be their customer for a long time. read more

Wow! I can't really believe there are still companies like this. I had a dying Saguaro, like a thousand others in the valley, and they actually took the time to listen to my situation! Bad experience with these guys and they wasted a ton of my time. Called for a tree quote for a large tree trimming job. They were booking a week out to send an arborist, which was fine. He came out, rushed me around our HOA (other companies took an hour to walk around since it was such a large space) and then I never heard back. I waited and after 10 days finally called and left a message that I was still waiting for a quote. Finally they sent me a one-line quote (for a job of 70 trees) with no details, no specifics on woodchipping, stump removals, firewood, etc... which were all the things I spoke to him about. The quote was so absurd, it was almost laughable. It was 200% higher than the next highest bid! (28k verses 10k). They clearly didn't want the job or lost the arborists information to provide an appropriate bid. Wish I hadn't wasted 2.5 weeks on getting a quote from them. read more

Because of all the 5 star reviews, I chose this company. I would give this company 5 stars also regarding the trimming of my tree. They did a great job on that. However, I specifically requested that no lower limbs be removed because of the esthetics of the tree. My tree's lower limbs had a lovely form. They were already cleaned of any twigs, leaves, etc., and needed nothing done. They were also not in the way of anything such as a house wall or sidewalk. The estimator who came out to give an estimate and talk about what I wanted done said he would write my requests in his instructions to the trimming crew. I told him I was concerned that the tree not come out looking 'skeletal'. He said he understood what I meant. When the trimming crew came out, I talked to the head man and repeated these instructions specifically saying not to cut any lower limbs. He said, "Yeah" and nodded as if he understood what I meant. I didn't watch the crew, because I trusted that my instructions would be respected. How I wish I had. When I looked at the tree after they had left, I saw that they had indeed removed a lower limb which had grown from a larger branch. That left an ugly bump on that branch where the removed limb used to be. It is a very visible limb and won't be covered by leaves. In addition, it left one side of the tree with several branches on one side, and only two branches left on the opposite side. I spoke with the estimator who came out originally, but he insisted that it wasn't his job to tell his crew every cut they should make. I said that simply following instructions not to cut off any lower limbs was a simple direction to include and follow. I called the company finally and spoke with the office manager who listened to everything carefully and patiently, even offering to look at pictures I had taken so she could see what I was talking about. She understood what I was unhappy about, offering me a discount on a future job. So, if you're looking for your trees to be well-trimmed and pruned, this a very good company. If you have specific requests on what not to cut, I could not recommend this company. read more

Had Liberty come out and look at a mesquite that was damaged. Daniel said the tree was still good so I had them do a balance and trim, as well as get 5 more mesquites in my yard. The quote was reasonable although Daniel tried to tell me that normally it costs much more. I've had my trees trimmed lots of times so I kind of know how much it cost. The crew came out the day as planned but they weren't exactly on schedule. No big deal as they made quick work of my yard. Maybe too quick. I ended up with some cracked branches and a bunch of the limbs have little knobs where they trimmed the branch. Pretty sure they could have cut those a bit closer. Once the trees starts growing I'm almost certain branches will sprout everywhere. read more

A microburst took down a 100+ foot pine tree in my yard, which crashed through my fence and spans two neighbors properties. I contacted 3 companies through Yelp to provide an estimate. Because the tree spanned my neighbor's property who live in a gated community they had to be contacted in order to provide access. Cassie orchestrated it all and was very kind to my neighbors. They did a great job on my tree/shrub removal project, completely clearing out a desert willow and a few other unsightly bushes (weeds, to me) the previous owner of the house left me to inherit. I needed some tree evaluations and remembered that I had saved a flyer from a recent bulk mailer. I called Liberty Tree Experts and set the ball in motion. On the appointed day, my husband was home to meet the tree expert. This man arrived (on time!) and reviewed our 4 trees needs. My husband was impressed with his professional appearance, kindness and expertise. Regrettably, we can't say that for many companies. He gave us an estimate for trimming that seemed fair and after reviewing his bid, we approved the work order. The job was completed exactly as discussed. The 4 men on site did a commendable job of cleaning all the debris from the tree trimming- even included the pool. Many companies don't take the time and remaining mess clogs the pool equipment. Because I wasn't feeling well the day of the trimming, I was not able to check out the work when told they were finished and ready to leave. The next day I checked our 4 trees. All looked great except for one tree that my neighbor always complains about- our olive tree. When I emailed the company to explain the issue, an immediate response was received. A Saturday visit, less than 3 days after my request, a crew from Liberty Tree Experts came and trimmed the offending branches overhang on neighboring sidewalk. Extremely pleased. We have used their services 2x to remove trees and cactus at our new house. The first was to remove a 30' pine tree and 20' cacti. Second was for a 15' dying grapefruit tree and 3 more smaller cacti. They were extremely responsive on yelp (less than 30 min).
