The customer service is nice, the spa itself could use some work. There are no locker rooms with showers, just two individual bathrooms, so if you're done with your treatment, and the bathrooms are in use, you need to sit and wait. The shower that they have is not located in the bathrooms, it is located in the middle of the hallway, so when you're done, you will need to walk to the bathroom to change...but then if both bathrooms are occupied you're SOL. I had the deep tissue massage because I have knots in my shoulders and a stiff neck, I also have knots running down along the muscles toward my spine, so I like very deep pressure when I get my massages. The massage I got was performed entirely by the masseuses elbows, no use of his fingers, and when I asked for deeper pressure, the pressure did not change. I have received a better 90 minute massage from Happy Feet for $45 than wasting my money coming to Aquablue. The only reason I'm giving them two stars is because of their customer service. read more

The combination of the steam, warmth, low warm light and ambient music created a perfectly blissful and serene state and I just zoned out in bliss. The facials at Aqua Blue are all I could ask for. Well-done and relaxing with a perfect amount of neck, shoulder and scalp massage. If you get to your appointment early, they have an adorable room to enjoy a cup of tea while you wait. Staff has always been kind and attentive. Given the location, I might expect it to be cheaper (60 minute Vitamin C Facial, $90). But, it's definitely a quality spot and worth every penny. read more

Such a friendly staff! They called to make sure they had the appt scheduled the time I needed and called to validate beforehand, and accommodated me even when I was late :) The girl who did my eyebrows and spray tanning was very quick and precise and made me feel very comfortable for my full body spray tan. And check out was fast and they continued their polite customer service from the moment I stepped in to the moment I left! I can't wait to make my appt for a facial & a massage soon :) which I've also had before and had a wonderful experience with. My wife and I had a really excellent massage here. We felt relaxed after an hour of full body massage. You have call at least a week before because they're always fully booked. It's really unfortunate that this spa only has 14 reviews. I have been here about 4 times all with many years in between. It's very important to note that the service, quality, and amenities have been amazingly consistent and does not disappoint. I live in San Francisco and have experienced day spas from hole-in-the-walls to extremely high quality and this is one of the best I've been to. I've been to day spas that don't have lockers so you have to have your tea in the quiet waiting room fully dressed. That isn't the case here. There are lockers and large spacious bathrooms to change before and after your massage or facial. The robes and slippers are comfortable, however there aren't showers so if you have somewhere to be after your massage, avoid the scalp massage. And I must mention the quality of the products and services. I've had several masseurs and they've all been excellent. For being a small location in a small town, this place does it right. I've seen other reviews complaining about rude staff, but I've never experienced this. I would definitely return, and look forward to it! read more

The first time I visited Aqua Blue with some girlfriends we had a very nice experience, so of course I thought of the spa again as a gift for boyfriend's birthday. I decided upon a couple's massage as it was his first massage and I didn't want anything too drastic... Unfortunately the experience was not the greatest...I've had several massage treatments over the years and felt the therapist was a bit 'distracted' during my massage. I even indicated tense areas that I wanted the therpaist to concentrate on which she overlooked. Also when I asked kindly for more and slower pressure, she did this for about a minute. I felt they weren't focused. After that I said nothing else(although I should have). I came out feeling disappointed and not that relaxed. I would say if you choose this spa its a gamble...I think some therapists will be good and some are not. So do your homework or just hope for the best. I went to Aquablue for a massage for my birthday. I was truly looking forward to the experience. The front desk staff was pleasant and welcoming. Where it all went wrong was during the massage. My therapist was massaging with one hand and texting on her cell phone with the other. I was so bummed. I spent $165 for a 90 minute massage, if you want to call it that. I called the manager who was nice and very apologetic. She may or may not give me another massage ( I am supposed to find out in a few days). I don't recommend going there if you desire a relaxing experience. My first regret is going there, my second is not getting up off the table and walking out. If you do go, ask your therapist to put her cell phone in her purse or locker. read more

I went here once just before summer for a back waxing. Staff seemed friendly enough. How ever. The girl that waxed my back acted very uncomfortable. And not o did not make any kind of come on to her. No look now hint no fleeting. I just wanted my back waxed not a happy ending. She even left the door open! I had never been there before and will never go back. My daughter in law and myself had scheduled massages at 6:45 this evening. We arrived after obtaining child care for her 5 yr and 1yr old, only to be told there was no appointment for us. They found the gift certificates entered in, but no appointment. This is not the first time this has happened but it will be the last. So i happen to be in this small town for work and there was not really much options as far as spas but we went to this one because my friend has tried it. So my 2 friends and I get there about 5 minutes before our scheduled appointment and we get this bitchy attitude from the receptionist. So we were basically the last customers. But I mean if we're gonna get treated like, 'ok just get your massages we're closing in an hour' they should just not take any more customers an hour before they close. $85 for an hour of blah massage and we didnt even get champagne, or at least get offered. I'll add to that I wish I would've gotten the name of the girl as she didn't introduce herself nor did she see me out at the end or assist in picking products for my skin. She used an extration tool on my face which wasn't very effective. I specifically told her that I am getting married in two days and that I only want the vitamin facial and massage and to do my brows. I told her where I have sensitive skin and get redness sometimes around my mouth. My skin felt like it was burning and I had to use a TON of make up to cover up the redness on my wedding day, which made the peeling skin look worse with the make up. She did a horrible job on my brows, you can see where she trimmed them and when I got home, I had to spend 20 more minutes plucking the ones she missed. And the brows alone were $20. I usually pay only $10 for this elsewhere. What bothered me the most is that I was on the phone 3 different times for my appointment and not ONCE did they mention that there is a Spring Special. As I was paying upon leaving is when I saw the flyer that said a 1 hr customized facial and brow shaping for $89 instead of $115. I asked her if I would be getting that special since I did get a facial and brow shaping and she said that it wouldn't apply to me because I didn't choose the customized facial. Um, excuse me? How is that different really than ordering a vitamin facial and customizing that to not have any harsh chemicals (which obviously they failed to do since my skin was peeling so badly). I paid the full price and I told her directly that they had 4 opportunities to tell me about this special with the last one as I arrived and had to wait and that I felt it was their due diligence to make their customers aware of such specials when they are being offered. Surely, I would've changed my order to save $40 from what I was charged! And another annoyance that occured was the people occupying the next room had a cell phone that kept vibrating every three minutes and it must've been up against the wall. It was very hard to try to relax with how loud it was in our room and I expressed how annoying that was, the girl should have gone over there and requested the phone to be silenced but she did nothing. read more

The girl who did my massage was not to pleasant and that make me feel very uncomfortable . They have a price online and I call to verify and they told me the that was the right price until it was time to pay and the story change, so " False Advertising " I left my number for the owner to call me, and he did call he left me a very long message trying to explain the issues and he was a totally jerk in the message, I would never give my money to this business and I be sure the my friends and family do the same. read more

This place is ok. The manager is super nice and she's great at her job. If it wasn't for her I would have never come back. She should fire all her staff and start from scratch. I usually only get my eyebrows waxed by her, but she wasn't available, so I was scheduled with this older blonde lady. SHE BURNED MY FACE! I was scarred for weeks! I am a semi-regular at Aquablue. I L-O-V-E it! The staff is very friendly and the facilities are warm and inviting. My favorite service is the Mediterranean Facial (Yeah, Angelica!!). It is an extended facial that also includes paraffin dips for hands and feet! I feel so pampered! It is a fantastic treat! I have had other facials and massages there, but the Mediterranean Facial is the BEST! The relaxation room is a bit small. There are only two lounge chairs that can truly be used for "relaxation" The other chairs are just "chairs". If the spa is busy, I am disappointed if I don't get one of the "special chairs". But I understand it's first-come-first-served. It is still nice to sit in the relaxation room before I get my facial or massage. I like the cucumber infused water! My friends and family know how much I love spa days, and I have received gift certificates for Aquablue as gifts. But one time I received a "Spafinder" gift card. I could have used that card at many other spas, but my first choice was Aquablue! Thanks!! read more

I'm not sure what the people who wrote the other reviews were expecting. This place is the spa which all other spas are judged against. To begin with, I have never had a problem with the staff. They are always very kind and accommodating. As for the amenities... holy poop! This place has it all. Slippers, big comfy robes, champagne (or tea), an amazing relaxation room, and a wonderful steam shower and sauna room. Not only do they provide shampoo, conditioner, face wash and body wash, but there are plenty of towels, water bottles and even a hairdryer. I take all my friends there and everyone has loved it. As a side note, I recommend the deep tissue massage. The best! The only drawback is the price, but for everything you get, it's totally worth it. I live in Scott's Valley now and would not hesitate to drive all the way here. read more

I booked a spa date with my girl friends on Monday for the Friday, first impression was great on the phone. I spoke with Amanda she very informative and had great phone skills, I felt that she had my best interested. Amanda also followed up with me on Wednesday to let me know she had an opening for a massage. The owner Frank recommend we meet at Perta in the wine bar to start and have a lite lunch, it was a prefect afternoon then We arrived at our appointment they took us back and we changed into our soft robes and slippers then we were escorted to the dry sauna where they had complement champagne and water we stayed in there till we were called by our first name for out treatment. I was having a relaxing massage, I did think the sheets were too rough the therapist did do a review of any concern or needs with me before I de roped. During my treatment I could here people talking it would have been nice if the music was louder to zone out, the ambiance was charming. Over all I would give the massage a C it wasn't as good as the past. I also didn't like that at the end they place your slippers on your feet, and place the robe over you, It's like there kicking you out. At the end the two ladies in the front were very nice and give us water and lip balm. My two friends got a 10% discount for being a Nurse and a Teacher I though that was awesome!! Aquablue is a high class spa in the middle of Oldtown Salinas. Don't let their location fool you, they are top of the line and extremely friendly and professional. Their facials and massages are top notch, their waxing services are fantastic, and their rooms are SO calming and comfortable. At the last minute I decided to have a massago for my birthday. I emailed the spa at 6 am and had a response by 8am and a phone call at 830 and an appt. at 10am that day..I liked the quick response. I was offered a steam shower and arrived early. They forgot about the steam shower..no biggy..I relaxed in the waiting area and got caught up on gossip magazines and had some tea. The place was relaxing and spaish...not exactly like other spas that I had been to but good for being in Salinas..my massage was good not great but good enough..everyone was friendly and wished me happy birthday! They did make a mistake on my bill and overcharged me $35..I was given a refund...it was a little uncomfortable at the front desk...the manager has been good at handling it and follow thru...overall I think it is a good place to go and would try it again. read more

When you walk in your greeted by friendly staff that that quickly take your name and escort you into a relaxation room. The relaxation room is beautiful decorated with several different comfortable chairs for you to pick from. If you are thirsty there are several teas to choose from plain water or water infused with cucumbers and mint. There's also a variety of yummy snacks or treats. When doing a couple massage we were given Champagne and chocolate strawberries. Customer satisfaction is #1 here. I love this place. My favorite person to go to for a facial is Carol. Carol is extremely thorough, informative about products, and is genuinely interested in your comfort. When I walk out of there I feel that I have more than got my money worth. I almost forgot with any service you can reserve the sauna or steam room/shower. This place is so worth the money. If you go make sure you inform the staff checking you in that it's your first time, and request for a tour of the facilities. Aqua blue used to be my favorite spa.. That is until what happened today. I went in for a facial and a back massage with my provider of choice, Carol. Everything went well until I returned to the changing room to retrieve my belongings from my locker. Long story short, my phone was stolen. My purse and clothes were still there though. I searched high and low around the establishment but still my phone was nowhere to be found. I immediately spoke with those working the front desk as well as the manager to see if they had seen anything/anyone suspicious or if they could review the surveillance tapes. Honestly, they didn't care and refrained from taking any action. They were very rude and condescending. After this terrible experience I will not be returning. Please take your money elsewhere. I purchased a group on for a massage facial and foot scrub as a present for my wedding anniversary for my wife and I. Everything went great with scheduling and I even found the lady on the phone to be extremely nice. Thats where my good experience ended. I arrive this morning at 930am for a 10am appointment and had to leave my home early because I live in Oak Hill and this spa is in pflugerville. After arriving the lady at the front desk told me that my appointment had to be cancelled because the massage therapist called in sick the day before. She then proceeded to tell me that the owner or boss would't let them notify us the day before when the spa found out it would be without the massage therapist. So not only did we find out that our appointment was cancelled at after we arrived we found out that they could have told us the day before and didn't. Now not only is my anniversary present for my wife completely ruined, I didn't have enough time to find another spa for a same day appointment. I am a firm believer in service, I have been in the service industry my entire life and this was by far the most aggravating thing to deal with when you only have a certain day off to do something for your anniversary and you find the day was screwed because of someone else.
