On the flip side, there's a noticeably bigger focus on frozen meals and frozen options, which is convenient... but it's not quite the same as walking in and feeling confident about the fresh picks. A bigger concern for me: a few times I visited, I noticed items that were close to--or possibly past--their prime/expiration date. That's the kind of thing that makes shoppers hesitate, especially when there are so many alternatives nearby. I genuinely think a little refresh would go a long way: - tighter inventory rotation - clearer quality checks - small clean-up / organization upgrades This is still a local business, and I'd like to see them bounce back. I had a bad experience here several years ago and didn't really want to come back. But I went in last week, and something had changed. There was a new employee.... a very kind, Tall....beautiful, patient, and respectful young woman who treated me with genuine kindness. I also noticed the way she interacted with other customers, especially the elderly. She was incredibly patient and respectful with them, which really stood out to me. She was smiling the entire time and made the store feel much more welcoming. What really caught my attention was that she asked me how I was doing and whether I had found everything I needed. I had a very disappointing experience at the Walgreens in Salinas a couple of days ago when I went to pick up my photos from the photo department.....During the afternoon. I had to wait for a long time, and no one came to assist me, even though the two employees working at the registers were dealing with two long lines of customers and still tried to help by calling the person in charge of the photo department. When the employee finally showed up... ( He was an asian guy) he had a very unpleasant expression on his face and walked extremely slowly. I honestly couldn't tell whether he was doing it on purpose or if he genuinely hated his job that much. To make matters worse, instead of helping me, he answered his cell phone and completely ignored me, leaving me standing there waiting while he talked on the phone. He then called over the female employee working at the register and asked her to come assist me. That's when I realized that she wasn't familiar with the photo department and that he was apparently going to show her how to handle the situation. However, what happened next was an even more unpleasant surprise. I want to emphasize that the female employee was incredibly friendly, polite, and, above all, professional. I mention this because of the way the male employee treated her. The man continued talking on his phone while walking away from her. She was clearly unsure of what to do. He started giving her instructions very quickly without fully explaining what she needed to do. She seemed confused, but she continued listening and trying to understand. Honestly, even I was confused by his instructions. I tried to follow what he was saying, but it was impossible to understand. He then told her to check the size of the poster I had ordered. She was just about to do so when he pointed at the poster in an extremely arrogant manner, raised his voice, and yelled at her that it was right there. She tried to say something, but he kept talking over her instead of allowing her to finish. I found his behavior incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. What impressed me most, however, was the way the female employee handled the situation. She was so professional, polite, and graceful that she refused to engage in an argument or respond to his attitude. She remained composed and continued trying to help me despite the uncomfortable situation he had created..... I believe this behavior deserves to be addressed. The problem was not her; she was doing her best to help me. My complaint is about the employee who treated both the customer and his coworker so poorly. I want to make one thing very clear: this is not a negative review of Walgreens as a company. I love Walgreens, and I will continue shopping at this location. The candle was a hand-carved orange and white sunburst candle that was naturally scented with essential oils. Very nice aroma, made well and my mother found a perfect matching candle holder. She was very happy with the detail also. The aftershave came in an antique looking brown bottle (medicine bottles of 1800s flavor) with a unique label. Somewhat nautical in theme and adhered the old-fashioned way (glossy paste) so big plus on detail again. The scent was a peppery musk smell that had a good masculine tone. My father was very happy with it (and my mother, maybe that's why...) He says it has replaced what he's been using. So two perfect gifts so far, and I will definitely shop here again. I received a notification that my dad's prescriptions were ready for pickup, so I went to the pharmacy expecting a quick transaction. Instead, I was told I had to wait for the pharmacist to release the medications because there had been a change. When I asked what the change was, no one could explain it, and I couldn't find anything different on the prescription label. To make matters worse, I had to wait over 15 minutes for the pharmacist to return and approve the release. I didn't have extra time to sit and wait because I needed to get my dad to a scheduled appointment. If the medication isn't actually available for pickup, then why does the website and notification system say it's ready? Unfortunately, this isn't the first issue we've had at this location. My dad receives a monthly injection, and during our last refill they gave us the runaround for three days, claiming they couldn't reach his doctor for approval on needles. The problem was that there was already a valid refill on file the entire time. It took them three days to figure that out. People don't have time to make multiple trips and deal with repeated pharmacy issues just to get medications they depend on. Because of the ongoing problems, poor communication, and wasted time, I will be transferring my dad's prescriptions to another pharmacy. Of you need your medicine in a timely manner skip this location and go elsewhere.

I had been experiencing severe tooth pain for several days, which I believe was related to my wisdom tooth. The pain was so intense that I could not sleep, and I was having sharp, throbbing pain that seemed to radiate through my head. A dentist prescribed me an antibiotic because of my condition. When I went to this Walgreens to pick up my medication, the female pharmacist on duty told me that I could not receive it unless I contacted my dentist and asked the dentist to call another Walgreens to confirm the prescription. At that point, it was already around 9:00 PM, and the dental office was closed, so there was no realistic way for me to do what she was asking. I was already in severe pain and became so overwhelmed that I cried at the pharmacy. I understand that pharmacists have policies and responsibilities they must follow, but I felt that the female pharmacist showed very little understanding or compassion for how urgent and painful my situation was. I was not asking for medication without a prescription -- the medication had already been prescribed by a dentist. What made the experience even more frustrating was that I later drove approximately 20 minutes to another Walgreens, where I was able to pick up the same prescribed medication without being required to call my dentist for additional confirmation. I am disappointed that the situation was handled so differently between two Walgreens locations.
