NICOLE IS AWESOME I debated between 4 and 5 stars. I went with 5 because at the end of the day, my lashes look great. I've only had them on for 4 days, so I can't speak on the longevity of Nicole's work, but I can tell you that I'm really happy with the way they look. The only reason I considered 4 stars is because the shop is very plain. There are no bells or whistles... and I'm OK with that because Nicole does great work. I'm very picky about my lashes. I've been getting lash extension since 2008, so I'm not a rookie. I used to get my lashes done is San Jose and Los Gatos. The techs there are skilled and there seems to be a lash salon on every corner. We moved to Marina 2 months ago, and I was bummed that I couldn't find a good lash person in Monterey or Carmel. The quality of work just wasn't was I was used, especially for the price. Driving to San Jose for fills was becoming such a pain, so I decided to try Nicole based on the Yelp reviews. Here's what I like: Nicole is friendly and clean. I liked the fact that I could smell hand sanitizer (or soap) on her hands. She uses good products. I can't remember the lash size she used, but they were soft to the touch and perfect for my eyes. They are thick enough to be seen, but not so thick that they weigh my eyelids down or look like I'm wearing falsies. The glue she used didn't both me (sometimes during allergy season, I can be extra sensitive to the glue). Nicole is fairly quick. I think it took an hour for a fill. Now understand, this was the first time I saw Nicole. She was doing a fill on someone else's work, so I think an hour is pretty decent. Nicole's prices are reasonable, especially for the end result. What I really like and appreciate about Nicole is that she is REALLY gentle. I have an extra-sensitive lash line, and she never once made me flinch. There was no pulling or yanking of my old lashes. I could actually relax and enjoy my time on the table. read more

Nicole is amazing! I moved back to Santa Cruz recently and was looking for someone to keep up my lashes. I had a great lash person in Teton valley and was hoping to find someone just as good. Nicole doesn't disappoint! She is certified and really takes her time to make sure you walk out with exactly the look you want. My eyes used to burn/water a lot during lashing and after for about two days while the glue was drying, but with Nicole they don't burn at all! She is careful to protect your natural lashes and the new growth. She will let some lashes grow more before adding an extension, which makes for more beautiful lashes every time! I was SO impressed with Nicole's lash job. She has been excellent to work with. I first contacted her in November for an appointment but couldn't make it due to a work trip. She was very accommodating at that time and understood my reason for cancelling. This past week I wanted to get my lashes done for my birthday. I contacted her on a Monday and she accommodated me early (7am) on Friday for an appointment. She was incredibly easy to work with and an absolute savior for my birthday! Not only the above but I have had my lashes done many times before by various artists and I can happily say not one single lash has come off since Friday. I live 40-45 minutes away from her salon but it is definitely worth the drive. Been getting my Lashes done by Nicole since December, ive gotten facials as well. I absolutely love love love my lashes. She's very thorough and lashes every lash! The three stars are for ease of scheduling and application of the lashes went smooth and they looked great afterwards. However I did explain to Nicole before having them applied that I had had a reaction in the past, and she said she thought it might have been the lack of hygiene since I wasn't told I had to clean them by the other location I had them done by ... so she said she thought i would be ok getting them done again. After I left from her studio; she said to let her know if any reaction occurs. Well the next day I did wake up with a little swelling and I let her know right away. She said to take Benadryl and apply cortisone to the lids because other clients of hers have the same issue for the first few days. Well I never had that issue for the first couple months I had them done prior, but once the reaction started it happened right away and would take awhile to go away or until I had them removed. On the third day with swelled eyelids and itchy eyes I sent her photos and she said to just have them removed and to come in the next day... I came in and she was kind of aggressive with the removal. Some of it went in my eye and burned pretty bad. Then she said she would do a complimentary lash lift, but said I should wait until the swelling and irritation go down. She had said 5 days , but I waited 7 to be on the safe side and then contacted her to schedule. She then told me she didn't feel safe doing the lash lift because of the reaction to the lash extension glue. It was kind of disappointing because I spent $100 for 3 days of lash extensions and didn't follow through with what was promised. read more
