For the last few years, I have been on the hunt for a great massage place for my wife. I found Yelp reviews for Oceanside that seemed like a good fit. It's a walk-in joint, we planned for reflexology, but ended up with a combo couples massage + feet for 60 minutes (well I wasn't expecting that!). The next surprise was the note in the room 'take off clothes and keep underwear on'... well, if I knew that, I would have worn my Sunday best! But my wife seemed amused, since she knows how uncomfortable I am with that kind of thing. After 60 minutes, the massage was concluded with grace, I felt pretty sleepy, relaxed, and really pleased to hear my wife suggesting it was one of the best massages she's had. I want to thank the Yelp reviewers for giving me the Impetus, and the team there for a professional, relaxing, and rejuvenating experience. I'm certain this will become a regular spot for us. Surprisingly great 30min foot massage for $30. We walked in on a Sat at 6p and didn't wait at all. My husband and I both got massages. The furnishings are basic, but we thought it was very good value. They were professional, strong pressure. They were also very responsive. It helps that he speaks Chinese so we asked for a few min of forearm massage instead of just foot and they were accommodating. read more

I have the highest respect for the Oceanside Spa and its workers. I have just posted similar words in another site, partly because I consider it important to say, both for you as a potential customer and for the incredibly hard working people at the Oceanside Spa. I have gone to this Spa regularly since the month they opened. I have come to know every worker there, past and present. They are uniformly professionally trained, conscientious, courteous, and motivated. I have never been disappointed, indeed, I maintain high expectations and they achieve them. Every masseuse. In fact the manager Lisa has sacrificed by going short handed to support an incoming new worker to attend months of training. What people seldom seem to consider is that the ladies havent the luxury of time to study English, but Lisa the manager helps fund incoming workers to receive training and certification. She enforces high standards, and more importantly, treats them very well, like family. Unlike some Asian spas where workers get little more than their tips, the Oceanside workers get a greater portion of the fee. This exemplifies ompassion, integrity, working hard for a dollar. They earn every cent if it, and go home with tired arms each night. They will never get rich from this, especially given the costs in this city. I posit that we seldom notice this as customers because we don't ask or perhaps it never even occurs to us. I have come to know Lisa to be an exceptionally compassionate, caring manager, and it shows. The Spa is as spotless as can be. There would never ever be a hint of impropriety or illegality - or laziness. I respect Lisa and her staff such that I understand their sadness and perplexity if a customer departs and later disses them in a review over an issue that could easily have been adjudicated. Not firm enough? Say something! Too firm? Say something! They don't speak English well? No kidding. They use oil? No kidding. Say something! Reverse roles and then comment. One must wonder how a customer can go to a different spa in a different city, of a different ethnicity, and implicitly expect an identical experience. Underwhelmed? Then go to the Ritz, spend $250, and get no better than what these hard working ladies provide for you. I stand behind these words. Completely. read more

Horrible!!!!! ZERO STARS!!!!! I was splattered nd covered in oil! My hair was completely ruined! He didn't speak to me asking for what pressure I would I like. Did risky movements while bending my legs, causing pain to my knee caps! Completely unprofessional, the guy had no idea what kind of muscles the back has and where they are located! Moved up nd down then side to side! Incompetent!! Then the AUDACITY to say 10$? For a tip for both of us? (We had a couples massage)! Umm the massage my husband and I received for the value makes sense. But honestly the "vibe" was off once we arrived we were about 5 minutes late because we didn't know what the parking arrangements were at the location. We are from out of town and exploring the city. When we arrived they put us in a room that smelled like it had not been ventilated. We were told to undress (leave the underwear on) and lay down. We were left there for a while at least 15mins. We were not informed if the masseuse will be in shortly or if it would be male or female. Nothing. Once they arrived it was a weird interpretation of what a massage is at least from the ones we have received. It was a pinching motion, did not include my legs or thighs. No massage for my feet just slaps on the bottom of your foot and wiggle of your toes. Idk what it was but it did not feel like a massage. We were recommended this place as a local business because we wanted to relax after a long trip because it was a special occasion it was our "anniversary" and it felt lackluster and rushed. Not to mention a massage should be quiet, aromatic and given to clients the space to relax and reflect. The two young ladies made it VERY uncomfortable to speak with each other amongst themselves whispering in their native language (i get it shes your coworker check in) but a consistent conversation all throughout the majority of the service? This isn't free , we are paying for a "Massage" an actual service. not a painful weird pinching motion on some parts of my body, over lathering of massage oil and no actual deep tissue massage as we requested that is deep/ somewhat painful but you help the body relax. It seemed like they didn't want to massage the body or certain areas of it. It felt uncomfortable. They were nice yes but the service and the customer service was not what expected based on all the accolades we saw online. All we wanted for celebrate our anniversary with some quality time together enjoying a relaxing massage. read more

I decided to wait till my second massage to review and I still think this is one of the best massages I have had. I am a server and ultrarunner so I take a beating, just on my feet a lot at work or running, and Tony went to the exact spots that needed some work. He is thorough, strong and aims to provide relief. Only suggestion is to have longer blankets on the tables. Sometimes my feet come uncovered if the blanket is pulled up to my shoulders. Other than that, I love the ambiance of the room, the place is very clean and comforting. Will be back soon. read more

We called for a couples massage on a Wednesday and were able to get an appointment for the next day, Thursday. The woman on the phone was very nice. The masseuses were both great. I should add, at the end of the massage they gave us a small bottle of water and offered to validate our parking! Overall, great service and great deal! read more
