Wow....never been turned away from a business before. I walked in with my husband to get a massage. They said they were too busy and to come back at 830pm. When I tried to make reservations and communicate which massage we wanted with a lady (with very limited English), a man walked out from a hidden office, saying to go to Monterey for massage because they're too busy. I still don't know what happened, the place was empty. I was very perplexed as how a business with no costumers is so busy. I definitely don't recommend this place, why bother. Maybe it's a front for something else or they don't give massages to people of color. read more

I'm so sad to see the low score this place is amazing! I posted it in next door because I've been going here two years and won't go anywhere else! Jody works wonders!!! I'd just like to say how disgusting it is that all the bad reviews are because: 1. They were busy (uhhh try making an appointment duh! I always do!) 2. The smell ( the rooms smell fine but if you go on their lunch break and they just used the microwave you might smell there lunch BE REASONABLE PEOPLE they are human and have to eat too!) or 3. the ladies speaking in their own language! (If your gonna give someone a review based on nationality and language it's just wrong!) I judged based on skill and skill alone! If you want a good massage this is the place ! If you want spa treatment go to a spa! This place gives Freedom from pain! This is a diamond in the rough! I've never been so happy with a massage as I am here. I've been on an off for two years with sciatica and neck pain and Jody is uhmazing!!! The other two that work there are good too but she's definitely my favorite. I know they just reopened with covid and their prices are very reasonable... poor advertising cuz it says foot spa but FULL BODY DEEP TISSUE is TO DIE FOR!!! I seriously haven't been to another place in two years because I can't find anyone that fixes pain like this place! They do gift certificates and Christmas is around the corner and they are finally open! I'd love for them to stay open so as a community let's give them our love and stop in for the best full body massage of your life!!! read more

I have never felt more insulted in my life then I did when I entered this place. So it was about 10am My mom and I decide to check this place out. As we are walking towards the place one of the workers sitting down saw us and pointed to the lab corps. As if assuming we were in the place. My mom and i looked at each other and were like no. ( we weren't looking our best my mom was in sweats and I was just wearing jeans and hoodie but I don't think this should have mattered) Then my mom and I shake our heads and we open the door, this is when the lady sitting down stands up. It smelled horrible inside! Regardless, I ask her do we need to make any reservations and how much is it. The lady who was sitting down only pointed to the direction of the flyers that held the prices. She didn't speak one word to me and talked with the other co worker in their language. I looked at the prices they weren't bad like a body massage for around $60 for 60 minutes. Even though the price isn't bad I wouldn't even dare to try it or go inside again. read more

The Sun Foot Spa offers a great full body massage for one full hour for only $24.95. New Yelpers can unlock their 10% discount by checking in. And if you plan to be a regular, buy 5 sessions and get the 6th free! It is a typical Chinese run foot massage place, but it is not just feet, it is the entire body. There is a waiting room with trickling water and a fish tank, to relax you. Behind the wall is a single room with 7 lounge chairs, where you are asked to lay down on your back. Your masseuse or masseur puts your feet into a warm bucket of water, while they begin to massage you at the head. In the hour you get massaged, every appendage connected to my torso (well, 5 out of six, this isn't a place of happy endings!) was addressed, including my torso, and even my gluteus maximus got a little. My little middle aged masseuse had soft, very warm hands, but had the strength to almost make me cry uncle a few times. You don't have to take off your clothes, only your shoes and socks. Men can take off their shirts. Your attendant will use a combination of techniques, and some massage cream in certain areas. Caution: if you are sensitive, let them know, as they drive hard into your muscles, probably challenging your wince reflex. But I felt great after, relaxed and revived. Well worth the $25 fee for a full hour. read more

I believe this is a new place & it's completely understated. It's in a strip mall (where Pho King is) in Seaside not facing the street. Also, they say they're a foot reflexology/foot massage parlor, but the foot massage options include head, neck, shoulder, back arm, & hands. So you're really getting a lot more than what it seems. The people here were friendly & the atmosphere is nice. During the massage they kill the bright lights & have soft & ambient lighting. Real chill instrumental music plays in the background. They have about 8 fancy motorized recliner chairs that are really pillowy & comfortable. They also have an area blocked off with curtains that can close all the way around which I assume is for the full body massages. I went with the 1 hour foot massage for $24.99. It came out to $20 after I unlocked a Yelp check-in offer of 10% off your first visit. The gentleman that did my massage took his time. He started with my face head and neck and eventually massaged my whole body. The massage was just over an hour long & I really enjoyed it. Especially for that price! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable massage that's in the area. Prices: 1.0 Hour foot massage - $24.99 1.5 Hour foot massage - $36.99 1.0 Hour Body (Table) massage - $45.00 1.5 Hour Body (Table) massage - $67.00 read more

Yes these places can be a bit tricky, and its a bit of a hit and miss but the fact that they were able to take me in at 9:30p on a Sun was the best. The massage is just what I need to feel relaxed and rejuvenated. I mean how can you go wrong paying $25 for 1hr... Its a steal... read more

I decided to give this place another go just for the hell of it, figuring that in 3 years they'd have either a new owner or new employees and might have improved. Yes they have, but there are still strange issues for the unwary. First of all, although Yelp says they take credit cards, there's a large sign which states 'Cash Only,' AND you must pay them that cash IN ADVANCE. No other reputable foot massage place that I've ever seen does this. Bizarre. I opted for the 60 min combo, body and feet. First oddness, I was supposed to undress down to my underwear. No other place I've gone to for a combo does that, you just take your top off and pull your pants down a little in the back. Oil was definitely used, unlike my other visit, and the massage itself was fine if not inspired. The combo massage didn't include any hot stones, which some do for the same price. It also, totally unlike any other foot massage place, does NOT include the part of the massage where they do your head, face, neck and arms. She did literally ONLY my back, my legs, and my feet and nothing else. When I asked, I was told that the combo was ONLY feet and back and nothing else. Bit of a rip-off. If you're used to Purity or Monterey Foot Spa and what they include and charge for each category, pay very close attention to what each category includes, as it's not the usual and you might not receive what you're expecting. Also, if you want just a regular foot massage, it's shortened to 45 min instead of 60 min, for the price of a 60 min foot massage everywhere else. They're better than they were, and the massage was competent, but I find their business practices odd and slightly creepy. I don't know how they stay open when there are 3-5 more professional, cheaper and nicer foot massage places within a 10-15 min drive and one only a few hundred yards away, who don't do all the weird cheap crap. Oh, and...it smelled. Not sure if it was food or what, but it wasn't pleasant. read more

I went there the other day to purchase the buy 5 get 1 free massage deal... Stood in reception area for at least 5 minutes and started to say hello...no answer, then I saw a gal across a massage chair online. She had earphones and when she finally came to the front~was SO rude. I just left. Back to my favorite place on Polk ST. So much for "their special". read more

I decided to treat my mom & gma for Easter to this place since they loved it before. This last time not so much. They stopped a few times during the massage & when it was time to pay @ the end & I tried to get my 10% off check in offer she refused. The gentleman then asked for a tip as we were trying to leave. Talk about rude. We'll be looking for a different place next time. read more

I think they have already change the name of the spa but it still registers as Sun Foot Spa when I checked in on Facebook. I am from the Philippines and I am used to treating myself a massage atleast twice a month there. When I went to United States, I limit the number of times I treat myself because I still can't help but convert the money (Philippine peso) back home. I can probably get 4 amazing massages there for the price of one here. So it meant a lot when I had Liu to massage me. She's wonderful! She hit every part of my body that needs massaging! All I can think of was "Oh my God. I found her." And "this is sooo good!" I had the Asian guy the first time I went there and he is also good. I've been going to other spas around but I never really felt the satisfaction I felt here so I guess I found my favorite place and favorite masseuse! read more

Whenever I am in a new area, I use Yelp to search what is nearby and a fan favorite. As I walked inside, I stood at the desk and waited, and waited. When the Woman finally greeted me in English, and offered Services in English, I showed her my 10% discount check in offer. She told me she did not know, and did not speak English. I showed her my phone and explained that it was clearly a check in from her business with Yelp. I am very clear that she DID understand, and was not being fair to me. I did not receive services here. Please don't offer something and then not honor that offer! It is not a good way to do business. read more

This place is hit or miss. Sometimes it's FANTASTIC and I walk away feeling relaxed (this is usually when I have a female masseuse and not the guy with the Bluetooth in his ear). Other times, I just like the first half. My main issue is no matter how much I tell them to be gentle, when they get to my back, they use their forearms and elbows to massage me, instead of their hands. And that HURTS. I don't like that AT ALL. Once I hit that part I know I'm gonna walk away with a back that hurts way more than I started. They didn't used to do this and now I'm hesitant to go when I used to go 2-3 times a month. No one wants a hard elbow poking your back. I'd rather you ask where it hurts the most and focus on that. So if you like hard pressure on your back, go for it. If not, skip it. read more

One of the very best reflexology massages I have had. I walked in with an appointment and they accommodated me right away. Mae (may?) was awesome. The place was immaculate. Very relaxing place. Not a lot of talking which is not normal for most for these places. I loved it and will be back. Highly recommend this massage spa. read more

Absolutely recommend!! :) Happy Customer!! PROS: low cost, ability to give deep full-body massage, atmosphere, courteous. I have been getting massages for years. I know a great massage. I got one of the best ever today from Jack. Although I don't think he speaks English, I didn't care because he knows what he's doing, and he "read" my body so well. For $25 dollars (and a great tip), I received a full-body massage for 90 minutes, with water delivered to me. I requested full body, but one can ask for specific areas. I purchased the 5 visits, get the 6th free for $125. I am taking my girlfriend in two days, and we will both get massages. CONS: Their inability to speak English caused some potential and returning customers to walk out. Just speak slowly, be patient and respectful, and spell out everything. It's just a communication barrier, not a scam. Also, be prepared to be in a large room with others receiving massages. I did not expect the massage to occur in an open (not private) room. PROS: BUT it was clean, very low lighting, choice to keep clothes on/off (I took off only my shirt so I could get my upper extremities a good massage, as clothing really gets in the way), and there were beautiful music and water fountains around. I am a physical therapist, so I know that, at least, Jack knows what he's doing. Just a suggestion: It's a new business, so tip well as the cost of massage is more than a bargain. read more

Don't let the outside and the location in a strip mall deceive you. This is a great little location, clean and well equipped. Went in as girlfriend was treating us to full body massages. You remain fully clothed and have your feet soaked in a bucket of hot water. The technique is totally different to what I am used to, but nonetheless a fantastic value for the price. I will be back. Why pay some of those big prices? This is $25 for an hour! AN HOUR!!! Run over there right now. read more

Ok never going back very disappointed do not get a table massage from the male worker there very violated :(

Went there for the first time while on vacation and will not be going back! I had a gift certificate and the lady argued with me stating that was not the right place. Finally someone who spoke better english put her in her place. The lady giving the massage quit several times to go answer her cell phone. And as I was leaving they shut the door on me where I couldn't leave the building until I gave her a tip. I ended up giving her a 5.00 tip and she threw my receipt at me. Will not be going back! They lack customer service. If I acted like that at my job I wouldnt have one! read more

I decided to try this place again and unfortunately, I will not be coming back. The two Asian ladies were rude and the place smelled like fish. Both ladies continue to speak in their language and it just makes me feel uncomfortable. The massage was not good and when I asked the lady if she could massage more deeper, she said something in her language and was making sounds as if she was massaging a freakin elephant. When it came time to pay I was charged an extra $2, but never saw anything that said something about a fee. The lady also tapped the tip section with a pen, pretty much telling me to tip. Waste of money!!! I do not recommend this place at all. read more

This is one of the better foot massage places around...and I've been to many in the Monterey area. The prices are very rwasonable...and so far the massages consistent...though if given the choice I usually have Tina work on me. She has amazingly strong hands yet doesn't beat you up...and her timing is nearly flawless...you ask for 60mins...you get 60mins...ask for 90...you get 90...never less. read more

Wild goose chase. I called the number listed and the woman who answered said yes, at 9:18pm, I could have a massage. I told her I'd arrive in 5 minutes. I arrive and the "open" sign was off and the door was locked. I called back. She said "where are you"..."I'm standing outside". She said "oh you're at the other one, can you come to Monterey, next to My Museum to Happy Feet, I have 2 shops". Long story short I go there, they suggest I only have a 30 min massage ugh! and this morning my back hurts really bad where the guy popped one of my ribs. Never again Sun Foot OR Happy Feet. read more

After going to two other foot massage places in downtown Monterey with so-so results and blah service, we recently found a new place (4 months) we absolutely love in Seaside, CA. Located close to our favorite Vietnamese restaurant, Pho King, Sun Foot Spa is wonderful find. Both masseuses, Helen and Tony, are well-trained in the healing art of foot reflexology and all-over, from crown to toes massage. I take all my family and friends there on a regular basis. Tip well to keep this business in business as it's hard to find a high quality foot massage place that's this clean and honest. My daughter and I actually walked out of the last foot massage place in downtown Monterey because of the generally disreputable practices common in these sorts of foot massage, aka "thug massage." The guy I had was really sick; coughing and sneezing, wiping his nose on his sleeve while massaging me. When I complained that it was wrong to have a sick employee working on customers, all I got was a "sorry, sorry" and the guy began working on someone else. These older places are stinky, moldy and more expensive than the new Sun Foot Spa place...$25 of indifferent foot massage instead of $20 of professional foot reflexology massage. I purchase the membership card because of their fair and generous practice of allowing anyone with you to use your card. In fact, I"m taking my sister-in-law and her daughter there right now! read more

I go often for massages and this one was not satisfying. In fact, I was massaged by the owner and it felt like she didn't know what she was doing. There was frequent interruptions where she had to leave me during the massage and assist the coming in and going out customers. I really wanted to just stopped the massage and leave early and not even have to pay for it. read more

This place was he biggest rip off I've ever had. Hands down a waste of money and a terrible experience. This lady was clearly no massage therapist. She just grazed her hands across a towel and pushed on me for a while. I eventually said forget this got up and walked out. They did not refund me my money or get me someone else because they can't speak English and didn't know what was going on. I'm amazed his place is even in business. Stay away!!! This place sucks! read more

I happened to see this foot spa with grand opening sign when I drove by. My leg was still hurting me few weeks after a very long hiking trip. I had one body massage a week ago, but didn't help much. So I thought to give this new place a try. It was a total surprise that my pain was almost completely gone after wards and I am pain free last few days. The girl who did massage for me is nice and skillful. When I told her my leg pain, she got the right touch right-way and soon I felt the relief. Overall it was such a wonderful experience and I am glad I stopped by. I am so grateful about it and I decided to write my first-ever Yelp review which you are reading right now. read more

WARNING under new ownership. I used to love going there it was very relaxing and enjoyable.. I hadn't been in several months and noticed when i entered there were all new people. No big deal or so I thought. The first issue was the smell , which was somewhat offensive. But the biggest issue was that employees talked and laughed with each other during the whole massage. Not very relaxing. The women who massaged me burped often and was chewing gum very loudly. The message itself was very rough and the employee left numerous times and would stop the massage if she was interested in what her coworker had to say At the end of the session i grudgingly gave a 5 dollar tip. When i was leaving the lady at the desk asked if I gave a tip ! It was determined that I had by checking with the lady that gave the massage.I then left and will never return again ! read more

I would have paid more. This is extremely amazing value for the price. My experience was, I walked into a dim lit room, that had a nice scent, spacious, with all the massage tables spaced out in the same room. You sit at the edge of this bed, and place your feet into just the right type of warm water. You lay back and they start on your head, then face, then neck, and back of shoulders. They then work on your arms, hands, and top of shoulders alternating between massage and acupressure. Then they spend a good amount of time on your feet and calves (for any self conscious ladies out there, shave those legs!). And then! You are asked to lay on your tummy, they place a towel over your back, and they use their knees and legs to use different pressure on your back and legs. This did surprise me as was unexpected, but, once I relaxed into it, it was just the most effective way to work out all the tension in my back. I am definitely going to be a regular. Loved it. read more

I scheduled an appt for 2 . They seated us promptly but noticed the employees started scrambling around to get ready. Brought the water bucket to soak feet but we could not put feet in , water way too hot, they had to cool it off before we could tolerate it. They started the massage , I had a gentleman and my friend had an older lady. As they started they laughed and spoke in their dialect. It seemed to me the gentleman was directing the older lady on how to massage. We continued with massage, friend was not complaining of novice of older lady. Into massage I felt the gentleman did not have enough oil/balm as he was massaging my neck so it felt like an "Indian burn" at times , tried to say something but he just smiled . During the massage the soft talking between the two employees was very irritating , could not relax . Then when other customers came in they would stop our massage and get them situated . That happened throughout the visit. After our visit which was almost 80 minutes (because they stopped several times) we went to pay and they said no extra charge for the overtime and they said no to the yelp 10% discount. Paid the $50 then the older gentleman said where is the tip. Very surprised he blatantly asked for tip. I did give a tip but will never go back and will never refer this place again! read more
