We walked in and when we asked for the massage for 2 we were told next available was in 2 hours which was ok for us, so we came back in 2 hours, then we were asked what service we wanted and I again told him the 1 hour combo, which I had asked for when I initially came in, he said they couldn't do that one right now so I said ok we will do the foot massage only. We waited about 15 minutes to be called in and the the man said we will do the combo, so I said okay, perfect! well I should have just done the foot one, literally it felt as if I was rubbing lotion on my legs. Just like that. No pressure, nothing. Just like when you put lotion on. Both my husband and I were disappointed. But it was our first time, so we didn't complain. I had a great 60 min massage that was available on a walk in basis for a great price ($62). This place is located in a central area of Monterey. I called just a few minutes ahead for two 60 min full body massages and was able to get in with no problem. I had another unpleasant interaction with the Pacific Grove ComFOOT Spa so I was wary but this location was great. Second time around wasn't so charming. I requested Andy for a reflexology massage because he was so amazing the first time. The second time around was a big disappointment. He wasn't as good. The massage was disorienting... he left me to go to the front desk at least 5 times. He also answered the at least 7 times during my massage. Also the massage wasn't relaxing... The sheet on my chair felt damp (gross), which tells me that it wasn't changed from previous clients. I told him that the sheet felt wet. He didn't understand what I was saying because he didn't speak English proficiently. When I pay you for a 90 minute service. I expect to have your full and undivided attention for the entire 90 minute. Your charging me a dollar a minute, after all.. Inconsistent massages, unsanitary practices, answering phone calls and going to the front desk numerous times during my massage... A miss and disappointment! I liked that not only was this business reviewed on Yelp, but that they also happily accept walk-ins. Coming from out of town and being able to get a massage was great. I was quickly taken back to sit and relax. I believe the massage therapist's name was Coco. As someone who became a certified massage therapist I really liked the massage. She started by asking permission to touch my face and after I happily agreed, she began massaging my forehead, the top of my head, and my ears while my feet were soaking in wonderfully warm water. It felt more like a surface-level glide than a massage, and they wore gloves the entire time, which made it even less effective. My legs actually started to feel raw from the friction. Great massage and service. I got the foot and body combo... I have a lot of tension everywhere and the gentleman giving me the massage totally sensed that and applied pressure where I needed it. It was strong and helped release tension. One thing I've learned is to help your masseuse help you by telling them when it's too hard or too soft. Really bad all around. Poor service and lackadaisical staff. I literally saw my pedicurist roll up the (dirty) towel he had used on my feet and place it back into the warmer, all rolled up as if it was brand new and ready to use on the next guest. Yikes. We came on a Monday afternoon. The place was busy so they asked us to come back in an hour. When we got back they took us in and we wanted the combo special that included 30 minutes back and 30 minutes feet & also hot stones were included. My massage was ok. There were times my massue kept digging into the same area which became painful. I did feel relaxed but I was also squinting half of the time from the pain. I guess you pay what you get for. Overall it was $52 ($2 if your paying by credit card). Would I come again? Maybe? We also didn't get the hot stone treatment. Bummer. read more

Absolutely worst spa to date !! So let's go through the process: 1. They make fill a sheet of what parts of body you want to get massaged (if you take full body). They also make you say whether you want light, normal or strong pressure. You would thInk that this sheet is useful for the massagers but apparently they dont care. They do what they like. I filled out normal pressure and marked all the parts of my body I wanted to get massaged and this excluded my buttocks. But the guy who was doing my massage gave 0 effs to the sheet and started with strongest pressure and I kept telling him to make it lighter but he wouldn't ... Why??? Because they don't speak English. So of course he couldn't understand anything I i say. 2. The massage concentrated only on back. 5 secs on my head. 1 min on neck..5 mins on legs.. and while massaging my back he was massaging the buttocks too, which as per my sheet should have been EXCLUDED !! But no 0 effs. 3. When I told the massager to reduce the pressure on my legs , he had to call the receptionist to ask her to explain him what I am saying. And then hE literally spent 5 mins on my legs lightly massaging it and at this point it felt like air touching my body rather than a massage. So it was either full force or nothing at all. 4. Also if you are a guy and doing a full body massage they will make you remove your shirt. For the girls, they don't. So that's cool but then my wife was saying how rubbish her masseuse was. She didn't feel pressure on any part at any time. Not sure if he had a fight with his friend or wife or parents but I can sure tell you I was the victim of his anger !!!! I am visiting for a few days, and I generally enjoy reflexology massage. I find it extremely relaxing and therapeutic and usually get 2 or 3 per month. I figured since I am on vacation that I would get one, and I chose this spa based on its reviews. Now I give this place one star for a couple of reasons. 1) I called about 20 minutes for my arrival and asked if they had any availability for two people. The man who answered the phone said yes if we came now. (It was myself and a friend). When we arrived, we were then told it would be a 30 minute wait, and proceeded to direct us to a sitting area. 2) The man then gets on the phone, and calls someone, I assume who worked at the cannery row location. About 10 minutes later, a woman appeared, who checked in with the man, then came back to the lobby, pointed at me and then pointed at a chair in the room. 3) She never smiled once. After I sat down at the chair, she walked away to the back room to fill the bucket. It was not an enclosed space, and the faucet was fairly loud when she was filling the bucket. It really made the environment uncomfortable. But, I tried to look past that part. This woman carried herself like she didn't want to be there, and my "massage" (a term I use loosely in this case reflected in the same way. 4) When I was getting my "massage" the pressure was too much that it made the experience uncomfortable. She uses way too much pressure, especially in my shoulder blades where she literally dug her elbow into it. When I jerked a little bit because she was working a particularly tough area, she asked "softer?" to which I said yes, and then she started laughing and talking with the other therapists (the talking had been going on off and on the entire time). 5) Lastly, when I got up to pay, there was a paper taped to the counter saying that the minimum tip should be $5. I tipped below this because I left with my back hurting from her putting too much pressure, but they show how much you should tip saying "our therapists work very hard," almost to make you feel guilty. Needless to say, I'll just stick to the ones at home. read more

I looked forward for the foot part, which was a little better but still below par. My feet soaked on warm water for maybe less than 5 min while i got a head and shoulder rub. The foot was massage portion could have lasted a little longer and could have asked if pressure was fine or needed deeper or whatever. Definitely one of the best reflexology places I've been to! I was walk-in and seen right away. I indulged in 90-minute massage. Prices were great imo and especially for the area. The facility was clean, bathroom was clean and the masseuses wear gloves which is really nice! Other nice perks were that they had a locker to place your items along with a key to keep on you so you don't have to worry about them. I recommend wearing something very comfortable that you don't mind getting lotion on etc. Like yoga wear! Also, definitely turn yourself off, don't be the annoying person who's self phone keeps going off and ruins everyone peace.
