May's Wellness Spa was a wonderful find! My husband and I decided to go on another mini baby moon last minute in Monterey. We love going to spas and getting massages, and May's popped up on my Yelp! I called a couple of days before the July 4th weekend, hoping that we can grab a time. We ended up getting a couples massage! They were so accommodating. Hubby wanted a deep tissue massage, and I asked for the prenatal. Both were wonderful and we felt very relaxed. Prices weren't too bad either! My husband said that we need to remember May's, for the next time we come to Monterey! read more

My husband and I were in Monterey for the weekend and decided that it would be lovely to get a couples massage somewhere. The hotel we were staying at unfortunately did not have any openings that evening so we began to call around places. We called May's Wellness Spa and we were so excited that they could accommodate us for that evening at 6:15 PM which was only a couple of hours away. The place is tucked back with a lot of residential homes nearby so I wasn't quite sure we were in the right place, but it was easy to find. The inside was clean and cozy, and the ladies were very friendly and accommodating. My husband and I opted for the 90 minute massage and it was worth every minute. Both ladies did an amazing job. I requested a basic Swedish massage and my husband went with a deep tissue massage since he was pretty sore from a rough work week. We both left their feeling so relaxed and we both slept so good that night. I highly recommend! read more

My husband and I went on our minimoon to Monterey and knew we needed massages from all the post-wedding craziness. We're so glad we did our research and went with May's Wellness Spa. We were greeted by the serene waiting room with its ambient water feature and May at the front desk who made us feel immediately comfortable! She checked us in quickly and led us right to our room for our massage. Decor was not overstimulating at all and provided the best sense of calm I've felt in a while. From the lobby, to the massage rooms, even to the bathroom-everything was cozy! May's Wellness Spa felt and smelled clean. My husband and I would for sure come back if we were ever back in Monterey. read more

Small cozy massage place. My bf and I did the 90 minute deep tissue massage and left feeling so relaxed. They really relieved all my knots! You know a massage is good when you feel the end is nearing and you don't want it to end! The staff was professional and kind and the place was very clean. The pressure was consistent and perfect the entire time and unlike some places, they don't have side conversations with eachother so it was so peaceful that I even fell asleep for a bit! As someone who loves massages, I highly recommend this place. I also lost my fitbit in the room, but they found it and called me. Amazing. read more

This wonderful little massage business knows what they're doing. They gave me a little slip that was the pre appointment questionnaire, and on it there was a spot asking about places to focus on. My only con with this place (such great kindness and such a beautiful spa) is that the massage was short. My bf got me 90 mins for my bday! which was $220, which would be fine if my massage wasn't like 75 mins :(. It started at ~5:20 (appointment was @5:15) but they stopped massaging at 6:35. I dont know if that's standard for places but it felt unfair to charge 90 mins for all that, I was even out the room by 6:40 even though he planned on picking me up at 6:45. I tipped pretty low because of it :| Even though the masseuse was so nice I just feel like my bf got ripped off a little bit. Definitely come if you are not afraid to speak up for yourself, other than those two things the service was great, and the spa is gorgeous

I will go ahead and give this spa 5 stars but let me explain why…read more.. First the staff is truly amazing! Harmoni was so sweet she greeted us and showed us around the entire spa! She made us feel very welcome and I really appreciated her hospitality feel. Second, Allison did my massage which to be quite honest was a 10 out of 10 for me! That's one of the best massages I've had in a very long time! Only downside was I did a 50 minute which was not even close to long enough! I would come back to her for an 80 minute hands down no questions asked! Third, they have pretty decent amenities. The tea is freakin delicious! Water a plus! Robes were comfy and they provided sandals. Awesome! Now here are the cons: 1. The pool and jacuzzi spa are outside and shared with the hotel guests so when you go outside little kids are jumping in and out of the jacuzzi, splashing around and making a lot of noise. I believe kids should be kids and not have to feel restricted. So with that said this spa is lacking in having its own private spa jacuzzi for relaxation vibes. 2. The "relaxation room" ain't so quiet. It's too close to the entrance so when people come in or check out you hear everything which is so annoying if you're trying to read or relax before or after the massage. Plus it shares a room where the staff out away the items used. So yeah lots of movement going on. 3. The steam room completely lacks steam! Which totally defeats the purpose. I hated that so much . 4. They do not have a swim suit spinner to get the water off your swim wear! You have to leave with it sopping wet in a plastic bag. That's the upside of the situation they provide a bag for you! Big Whoop! Overall I give it a 5 for what they do have and not for what they don't! So just know if you do go that's what's lacking!

Family trip to Monterey and I wanted to do some self care for myself. I scheduled a facial and massage combo with May and she was fantastic! I am 9mo post baby and this was my first massage since. I like really strong pressure and she really dug into my knots and helped release some of my lower back pain. 2 hours of blissful time later I am so glad that I found this place and would highly recommend. read more

My wife had a prenatal massage at 24 weeks, and came back raving about how great it was. May was very pleasant and extremely professional and the spa itself was very clean, nicely set up, and all in all a great and pampering experience. read more

I had an amazing massage and facial with May! They are located in a very quiet part of Monterey. The whole experience was very relaxing!

Absolutely love Tatiana's massage therapy and have to give a shout out to Brandi and CC…read more Brandi gives the best most soothing facials and I always look years younger when I leave her. The products are light and effective. She's gentle and gives a great upper body massage. For full body massage, my personal favorite is CC, but honestly, I've tried several different therapists and it's always been very good. The salon keeps the prices reasonable and I love this because it gives me room to tip the therapists really well. It's really a win-win for everyone. Last I have to talk about the owner, who is probably one of the nicest people I've ever met. She works really hard to meet the needs of everyone and if you're ever not satisfied, she will rectify it immediately. We are so lucky to have this business in town.

I also wasn't even the recipient of the massage -- I had bought a gift certificate to Tatiana's Massage for a family member. Nevertheless I was reminded of my bad experience and am annoyed enough from getting spam texts to finally leave this review. My family member told me the massage was really weird, and they were almost certain that Tatiana was texting on her phone throughout a large portion of it. They said they thought they were going crazy because what massage therapist has the audacity to do that, but they were face down or otherwise couldn't see to confirm during the massage. They just repeatedly felt her attention drift away from the massage as she kept shifting to only using one hand. Then, after the massage, they were exchanging pleasantries before my family member left, and they said she seemed to get a notification on her phone and pulled it out from her apron to look at it DURING their exit conversation. They said that confirmed it that she must have been texting during the massage and they were not in fact imagining it. Tatiana seemed nice during my brief interaction with her when I was purchasing the gift card, but based on my family member's experience I would not recommend this service. It seems her practice has grown and there are other massage therapists working for her now. So maybe they won't be on their phones if you book with them, but as the owner she lacks integrity. There are tons of other great massage therapists in the area who actually deserve your business.

Best! Massage! Ever!…read more My husband and I had an appointment and it had to be rescheduled due to an emergency with the massage therapist which was no worry and they were great about rescheduling when we were available. When we got there they'd given us an upgrade due to the "inconvenience" which I'd say it wasn't at all especially since everyone was so nice about it! The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and walked us through the whole process and even brought us water afterward. We'll definitely be returning next time we're in town!

They gave me a little slip that was the pre appointment questionnaire, and on it there was a spot asking about places to focus on. I put down neck and lower back, but I don't think the masseuse checked it because there wasn't any emphasis on those spots, so make sure to actually tell them if you want something specific.
