May's Wellness Spa was a wonderful find! My husband and I decided to go on another mini baby moon last minute in Monterey. We love going to spas and getting massages, and May's popped up on my Yelp! I called a couple of days before the July 4th weekend, hoping that we can grab a time. We ended up getting a couples massage! They were so accommodating. Hubby wanted a deep tissue massage, and I asked for the prenatal. Both were wonderful and we felt very relaxed. Prices weren't too bad either! My husband and I were in Monterey for the weekend and decided that it would be lovely to get a couples massage somewhere. The hotel we were staying at unfortunately did not have any openings that evening so we began to call around places. We called May's Wellness Spa and we were so excited that they could accommodate us for that evening at 6:15 PM which was only a couple of hours away. The place is tucked back with a lot of residential homes nearby so I wasn't quite sure we were in the right place, but it was easy to find. The inside was clean and cozy, and the ladies were very friendly and accommodating. My husband and I opted for the 90 minute massage and it was worth every minute. Both ladies did an amazing job. I requested a basic Swedish massage and my husband went with a deep tissue massage since he was pretty sore from a rough work week. We both left their feeling so relaxed and we both slept so good that night. I highly recommend! read more

My husband and I went on our minimoon to Monterey and knew we needed massages from all the post-wedding craziness. We're so glad we did our research and went with May's Wellness Spa. We were greeted by the serene waiting room with its ambient water feature and May at the front desk who made us feel immediately comfortable! She checked us in quickly and led us right to our room for our massage. Decor was not overstimulating at all and provided the best sense of calm I've felt in a while. Small cozy massage place. My bf and I did the 90 minute deep tissue massage and left feeling so relaxed. They really relieved all my knots! You know a massage is good when you feel the end is nearing and you don't want it to end! The staff was professional and kind and the place was very clean. The pressure was consistent and perfect the entire time and unlike some places, they don't have side conversations with eachother so it was so peaceful that I even fell asleep for a bit! My back, neck, and shoulders were all gnarly from having moved house and then a couple of solid days of travel by car and plane, then sleeping badly. For my anniversary I booked us a couples massage with my husband and I. The process was fairly simple online and was excited to come to the place after reading the reviews. Kwan was my masseuse and she did an amazing job with the deep tissue massage providing the right pressure and identifying all the problems areas in my back. She alleviated my back pain tremendously and my husband received a Swedish massage from May and he stated that she provided calm strokes and helped him relax. Wow! May knows what she is doing. I got a deep tissue massage which opened up my tight shoulders and stretched out my tight legs. The quality of a massage is dependent upon the individual skill set and touch of the therapist. I will definitely go back to May when in the area. read more
