Updated review a few years after completion. Have multiple areas separating/cracking on the coping from the pool. An area immediately stared having issues after the pool completion and Dan did fix it a couple of times but the area continues to crack even after multiple fixes. All corners are now separating and cracking. Many of our neighbors have had pools completed before and after ours by other contractors and none have these issues. I think that says a lot. If we could do this again we wouldn't have used Aqua Unique Pools. We now have a very big problem on our hands. read more

We finally decided to pull the trigger on our backyard project, and out of a half dozen bids, we hired Aqua Unique Pools to do the job. They were not the lowest bid, nor were they the highest. Originally I was only planning to have him do the pool, but after talking with him, I gave him and his team the entire project! How do I start? Well, first and foremost looking for someone you can trust is very important. Building a pool is not buying a dress where you can get it now and change later. Its a process and I have learned a lot in this process thanks to our man Dan (owner). Since we are new in Brentwood, we asked Yelp's recommendation and I have read great reviews from this company. As a client, trust and communication is very important to me. There were a few bumps at the start of the project (very understandable because of Covid and some personal matters) but overall very satisfied with choosing Aqua Unique to build our pool. I have never met an owner who actually is very hands on with the projects they have. Every time I text Dan with anything he responds right away and he was very attentive with our needs. We needed the pool for my sisters birthday this Saturday and without a doubt... true to his words our pool is ready!!! The process was very smooth, the salesman Tom, came over multiple times and gave us the estimate, we have had another 3 estimates from other companies, and we decided to go with Aqua Unique Pool (not the cheapest one, not the higher, just reasonable and competitive price), the drawings with Aqua Unique Pool and City Permit process took a few weeks due to COVID limitation of city processing time. They started with dug the hole (same day), the owner, Dan, was very knowledgeable about the construction process, was extremely responsive, and 5 stars in customer service. The workers in the field are extremely skilled; they always clean the job site without leaving any mess and do a great job in my pool placing the coping and tiles. The construction process last 3 months. We passed all the city inspections, and they are now in the process of closing my pool city permit. Highly recommend Dan and the team for your dream pool. SPECTACULAR! Dan and his crew have really delivered a beautiful pool and spa. We have been searching for a reasonably priced pool installer for about three years and were astonished by the outrageous prices for the most basic of designs. We then met with the team at Aqua Unique through our neighbor who also was getting a pool installed. Their design incorporated all the features we wanted (waterfalls, lights, decorative wall..), and at a price that was incredibly fair. Once we said yes and the permits were obtained the action started immediately. Dan, his crew, and even the subcontractors were all very professional, polite and friendly as they went about their work quite diligently. The tile guys were especially good, so much so, that we hired him to do a backsplash upgrade in our kitchen. Unlike many contractors, Dan remained in constant contact and never let the job slow down. He had promised us a pool by Christmas and the water was flowing by Thanksgiving. Dan's knowledge of pool construction is evident in how he handles each stage of the project. He was also invaluable to the design of the pool as he convinced us to move where we had originally planned to put our decorative wall as well as the pumps and heater. The latter item resulting in much better heating of our spa (gets up to toasty temperatures in less than 30 minutes) which will result in lower costs. Overall Dan and his team have built a quality pool that is gorgeous and will provide our family with countless hours of fun as well as add to the overall value of our property. read more

My husband and I are so excited for summer now that we have a gorgeous pool in our backyard thanks to Dan and Luis. We signed our contract in August and at that time I let them know that there was no rush to get this done since we were headed into winter and that I would rather have it done right rather than quick. It was hard to be patient because we couldn't wait to see the final outcome but I'm so glad we let them take their time. I'm a firm believer in being patient. You have to give them time to get the best people out when they're available and not to rush such a huge job if you want the best results. We left our backyard open and available to them to go in any time so they were able to work at their convenience without having to notify us. Our next door neighbors allowed the crew to use their driveway to access the backyard. Everyone that came over to work respected both properties, never left a mess and were very nice. Before any of the major parts of the project were started (concrete, coping, tile, plaster) Dan and Luis always checked and double checked that the colors/items I had originally selected were what I wanted. When there was some confusion (very minimal) my husband or I would quickly notify them and they corrected it immediately. The pool was completed today (January 12) and it is absolutely everything I wanted and more! It looks awesome! Quality of products and options between pool equipment and tile were all high end Dan and Louis have paid their dues and now manage their crew but have done all the work previously and it shows because they jump right in and do the work if there were any delays. We set some days aside for his guys to also do some work for me like planting trees, relaying my turf, clearing out old stuff. Although we did not receive services, we spent a lot of time discussion our project and were very close to signing a contract with this company until we questioned them on differences between our initial proposal and the final contract that the provided for us to sign and approve. Below is the email I sent Tom before writing a review but I never received a response. Hi Tom, This response took me a bit by surprise.  We have been working with you for the last three months trying to get a pool built and I felt that we were very close to finalizing the contract and signing it with Aqua Unique.  We had several questions regarding the contract that we wanted to address before signing it  so that we could minimize any misunderstandings during the buildout of the pool.  Instead of addressing our questions, you "respectfully declined" our project.  We found this response to be unprofessional. If you did not want to pursue this project, it would have been better to let us know at the beginning of February to save both of us a lot of wasted time and not lead us to conclude that we would be working with Aqua Unique. Because of your actions and slow response, we lost time that could have been spent working with a more committed company.  We met with you several times and had several calls to discuss what we wanted to do with our pool design and you always seemed responsive and willing to work with us, yet we never saw any of our conversations or your verbal commitments make it into the proposal and/or the contract. When we questioned discrepancies between your proposal and the actual pool contract, your response was to "respectfully decline" the project.  The reason we had so many questions/concerns is because you neglected to update the contract based on our numerous discussions.  This is a substantial contract value and we wanted to be clear on what scope we were getting included in the contract. This is what I believe any responsible potential customer would do. We are not typically the type that leave negative reviews, but this experience has really left us questioning the ethics of your company. We understand that your company may be more selective with the current market for pools, but regardless, this does not allow an opportunity for unprofessionalism.  I am sorry that we could not work together, and we feel grateful that we did not end up down this road with your company. pros and cons...here we go... let me start by saying after we've been swimming for a few days, this is the MOST fantastic backyard pool i've ever swam in. the water is CRYSTAL CLEAR. it's so amazing swimming in this pool! pros...high quality material used. the pool equipment rocks and i've had outside vendors tell me, this stuff will last forever. great team doing the digging and the gunite company is on top of things. plaster guys rocked and the service tech is top notch. cons...it takes time. the work took time, i understand stone and concrete needs time to cure, but some of the process could have been sped up by having labor onsite. its not always their fault though, it's just hard to find labor. i'm in construction myself and getting skilled workers you can depend on is hard these days. keep on top of the work being done, make a schedule,be patient and you won't be disappointed. read more
