We had a sales man (Dan) knock on our door, he was nice to talk to guy. But like most door-to-door sales mans - their words, commitment and promises don't mean anything. Always remember, these sales people are at the bottom of company hierarchy and would say anything to keep their jobs. Despite some scheduling confusion, which was not his fault, Cesar Gonzalez came by this evening and did a great job on our quarterly service. Thanks! Less impressed with the scheduling dept. Almost every service tech has said before leaving, "If you see bugs before your quarterly, call and we'll come back out." Well I called last month and was told, "I'm not in that department but I'll have them call you." Never got a call back. Finally got a call for regular service and agreed to a date of 8/22. Got the reminder email and it was changed to 8/23. No idea why. Waited all day to make sure someone could let them inside since no appt window was given, finally arrived at 7:30 PM. Honestly if nobody had shown today I would have cancelled, get your sht together seriously. read more

Solicitor came by today and knocked AND rang my doorbell, ignoring my large and clearly written sign on my front door stating not to do either of those things. When I answered to tell him I'm not interested and to please leave he refused and was extremely rude and insisted on telling me something very important. If it is so important that you disrespectfully ignore my wish to not be bothered while my child is sleeping, leave a note. I don't know his name, but any of my neighbors that are using aptive, I will advise them to drop them now and refer them to the pest control service I am using. wow, its actually true what a lot of these reviews are saying. I had to cancel the service because time after time i kept calling about the same thing. When i would tell them to come because I had an issue, it took weeks because they didn't properly put it on the schedule. seems like it was something every time. This last time I was having issues with Cicada Killers and they said they didn't see anything. It was so obvious and they're flying all over the place with mounds everywhere. Also before this, I had called them about the yellow jackets outside the garage and according to them it was taken care of. Nothing was actually being done. All these insects are still there and so the communication is also bad. I respond to the service tech with pictures of all these issues and never get a response. When I call, i get forwarded everywhere and they way they take care of you as the problem, they offer discounts so they can keep charging you and with the worst service. Done, no more. read more

Rude customer service Trying to charge me a "termination fee" of $249 because I'm moving to a rental property where services can't be performed. I paid for 4 of the 5 services and only have one $109 left. At this point paying for services I won't use makes more sense than the early termination fee. To make it worse, this was not disclosed initially, and I was told that if I was to perform 2 of the additional 4, I would not be charged any fee if I was to cancel. We've had Aptive for almost a year and overall I feel satisfied. The first few treatments It literally took the person like 5 mins and I felt like a huge waste. The last couple times we've had Brandon C. do our service and I actually feel like he did everything expected and was always friendly! Even this last time I was hoping he would come because I needed a treatment inside my home and I felt comfortable allowing him to come in. Overall, I was satisfied but customer service on the phone has been slightly disappointing everyone I've spoken with seems so blah and it comes off as irritation. I am giving 1 star because there is no Zero to enter. I wish I would have read the reviews before signing up! Their overly aggressive sales guys came to my house and knocked door and called me every day until I agreed to give them a try. I finally agreed and they flew through the paperwork. Till now they did 4 applications start from July to till date (Dec) and are having the WORST bug problem we have had in 4 years of living in our home. They never informed me when they do application and they said they will do every quarter and did every 2 1/12 months(not even quarter) to make more money. I gave comments to them 3months back no action/call/reply. So, I called the number that they gave me after application, the customer service lady mentioned she has access to my account and money how much I am paying but she can't help me with anything not even my feedback/review. Next day local service (ohio) lady called me and spoke very disrespectful. I asked her to cancel my last application and then she informed me that the "paperwork" that I signed (which was on an ipad and flew through the contract as I signed without allowing an opportunity to actually read), dictated that I had a $200 cancellation fee. You have got to be kidding me? He said it was $200 because of the deep discount I received for the first visit. And also she said "Pay $100 for last application or pay $200 cancellation fee or go to collections". She literally blackmailing me. She is not talking about bad service or problem that I am still seeing. They just care about money. We have spent hundreds of dollars for nothing. It's been gross. I'm about 99% sure that whatever they're spraying kills nothing but my plants and flowers if it is anything other than water at all. This last weekend I received an in-person unsolicited door to door solicitation (door bell ring) by a Aptive employee wearing an Aptive shirt and hat even though we have two No Soliciting signs posted on the door. The sales person said they saw my No Soliciting signs and said he won't try to sell me anything, but wanted to know if I had pest problems. This sales person does not know what No Soliciting means. This sounds like an unethical company if they try this BS as part of their standard sales ploy. I called Aptive to report this poor / illegal sales tactic. Other Yelp reviews show that unsolicited door-to-door tactics are common-place for this company. Next time I will just report them to the police for violating city law. read more

Apparently Keith Griffin gets around...because the reviewers are from McKinney TX, Houston TX, Raleigh NC and Atlanta, GA! I had the same experience as the other reviewers. A polite young man came to the door on his segway, told me how great Aptive was and how inexpensive. When I told him we'd been Orkin customers for years, he rattled off a number of incorrect stats about Orkin's treatment plan (they only treat the outside, don't do the foliage, aren't licensed for certain pests(!) ). Follow up to an earlier post. In consideration of making the company aware of the sales rep issues our neighborhood is having I called the local sales office. After speaking with an agent, I'll refrain from giving her name, I was told the sales manager is "out of the office" but she'd take a message. I was told the supposed office manager Kyle, she wouldn't give a last name, would address the issue but he wouldn't be giving me a call back. I also was told he reports to "corporate" but no contact information could be given for corporate. Are you kidding me?! Told would not be issue and if ants persisted to call after 48hrs. Clearly these folks are not magical as it rained and ants remained. Called for them to come back out. Waited around all morning for the 8-12 window. At 1pm, called and was told guy hadn't even started route. Great wasted Saturday. Canceled contract and asked for refund. High pressure sales tactics but unfortunately we hired them anyway. Had them for a year then in Aug we got a servicer who was extremely unprofessional, and wanted to tell me where he was NOT going to spray! First time having that experience otherwise they seemed professional previously. The services were supposed to be quarterly but they billed me again at end of September, not once but twice! Salesperson came to my door while I was watching TV with the door open (screen closed) as I had a crazy morning and was trying to relax. Rang the doorbell. I ignored it. Rang the doorbell again. Went over to the screen door, saw his shirt (we already have a non aggressive pest management company that we love), told him "Nope, not remotely interested". Then I walked away back into my house. He yelled after me, "Do you even know what I am here for?!?" and then, started muttering sarcastically about "thanks for your attention" and other things like that, while staying on my porch for at least thirty seconds longer than was appropriate. My son told me there was a "bug guy here". I went into my garage to talk to him. Nate was trying to talk me into buying his services from aptive. I told him we already have a bug company that we are happy with. He proceeded to give me a sales pitch, anyway, about how their company does a better job than our company. He also said they only charge $30 per quarter, if I'm not mistaken. He also told me he signed up a bunch of my neighbors. I told him again I was not interested. He continued with his sales pitch. I asked Nate for his business card. He was very hesitant, saying, "I'm just a walking brochure." After I told Nate I was satisfied with my service and not interested in his, he still wanted to set up an appointment with me. I told him I didn't have time. I also told him I didn't want to make any commitments. Low and behold, Nate pulled out a business card and gave it to me. He offered me $60 off my first service if I signed up. I have long completed my initial 12-month contract for services. Only ONE of the service technicians provided services worthy of payment. I can't say that the products they use actually work. We continue to have issues with beetles, ants, and spiders. To be fair, I did not take the time to call them to schedule additional treatments in-between regularly scheduled appointments. I am now trying to cancel the Aptive service and it's proving to be a maddeningly impossible task. There is no option to cancel on their website or app. I've called Aptive directly and have been placed into a waiting queue that never picks up. In fact, after about 25 minutes of holding I am forced to leave a voice message with my callback information. I have not received a callback. I called back and decided to select the option for starting new services. I was speaking with a sales representative within seconds of dialing in. When I explained that I wanted to cancel my services, he very quickly told me he was transferring me to another department and before I could utter a syllable to object, I found myself in the same waiting queue where I was once again placed on hold for over 25 minutes until I was forced to leave another message. My experience with them has been less than stellar and my inability to cancel services is the last straw. I'm going to have to put a block on my credit card to keep them from charging me for future services in hopes of triggering a callback. I'm also writing a formal cancellation letter, but am less than confident it will find its way into the right hands. If anyone knows of a more effective way to contact Aptive to cancel service, please let me know. read more

My next treatment was a joke. The young man who came was in a hurry and stated he couldn't take down any webs unless they were attached to the house. They stood me up! And no one called to let me know they weren't making it. And, it took almost a week for the company to return my call to make the appointment. However, because this involved aggressive and belittling behavior by the sales person who represented this company I felt this to be necessary. A representative from this company rang my doorbell and I opened the door. He greeted me with questions regarding if I had a pest service and I answered affirmatively. He made a brief sales pitch on why I should change my service. I politely declined. He persisted and I explained, again, that I had a service and named that company. He started telling me that he was going to "take care of x number of neighbors on my street", whereupon I interrupted him to say "Oh, I guess you didn't see the sign on our door!". I reached over and tapped our prominent No Soliciting sign on the door. He just kept talking, telling me why I needed their services as I gently closed and locked the door. I just started a one year contract with Aptive. A sales rep came to our door and everything he said they would do, they did not. He said they would spray one acre of land, the interior of our home, concentrating on windows and doors, spray around the outside of our house and barn and the firewood piles. He obviously didn't communicate this with the service guy. Both guys were nice, but some communication between the sales guy ad the service guy would be nice. The guy that came to do the work had no idea why he was there. He did not come inside the house (he said they don't usually do that) , only did about 1/4 acre of land, and we now have spider webs on the front porch (one week later) and bugs inside the house, which is weird because we haven't had them before. We had a quarterly service with another company before Aptive and no time had lapsed between the last treatment from the previous company and Aptive, so there should NOT be any problems. I tried to schedule a return visit, (which they promised they would do, free of charge, if we had any problems between treatments, but there are no appointments available for at least a month. I think I have been scammed and need to report this in the morning. Please do NOT purchase a contract from them. read more
