For our last scheduled service call, they sent a "technician" who had absolutely no idea what he was supposed to be doing! The man that Aptive has doing the door to door visits wasn't too friendly when I politely declined their business. I told him it's only because we are already financially invested in PestNow. He was really pushy and once I declined, he then proceeded to tell me that he was going to book the first spray for $29, I said no, Please do not book the appointment, as we are already using a company! He then got very upset and stormed off. And I was really polite, but geeze! I already said no and he wouldn't take no for an answer! And not to mention, we are in the middle of a pandemic and he wasn't wearing a mask and violating my 6ft. He told me that "the deal" would only be valid if I book a contract RIGHT NOW! We've been using Aptive for about a year and a half, now (they were recommended by my neighbor). Other than the ant problem that everyone seems to have this year, we've been very happy. Most recent treatment was for indoors (which I don't usually do because of pets) since the ants were so problematic. The technician was very informative and helpful in making sure we could treat as much of the areas needed but keep our pets safe. I very much appreciate this company. They are always responsive to our calls and requests for additional services (during this crazy ant season). Thanks Aptive! read more

Door-to-door solicitor came to my home and tried to give me the hard sell. That "30" of my neighbors were getting treated and they could "fit me in" at a bargain price. The guy didn't have any business card, didn't have a door-to-door solicitation permit, and didn't give me the name or address of his location -- just an out-of-state cell phone number. read more

WORST COMPANY EVER. They use mormons to sell you so you want to trust them. DON"T DO IT. They random schedule your appt, requiring you to manage them through cancellations that never happen. Then tech's show up at your door and yell and bang screaming they have an appt. My neighbor had to come outside and ask them to leave they were so loud. I tried to cancel after the first service which they told me I could do if not satisfied. NO luck, in fact they scheduled me without my permission and let my minor child authorize the paperwork. They charged my credit card. SHADY Then I was promised a manager would call me, nope. So I believe i AM GOING TO HAVE TO FILE with better business bureau and contact the attorney general for help in this matter. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

The technician knocked on the door after circling the house. However, I couldn't get to the door promptly. By the time I got to the door I saw that a young men out of uniform (perhaps due to the weather and wearing personal coat) went to his truck sat there for approximately 20 mins, and I sat by my window waiting for service to start but he just left. My cameras and motion detectors recorded him circling the house and knocking on my front door, and then walking away. An email of completed services was received as soon as he drove away. No services were performed and all (non)actions were recorded on video by the home security cameras and also my cellphone since I was home looking out the window awaiting for the service to start. NOTHING was done, my card was charged, and thus thrust has been violated. I called the main office and after two days they have not called back. I pictures from the video recording to no avail. Now I will never know if the previous visits were a scam like this time around. We were home for all the other times, and at least they removed the cobweb and sprayed something liquid around the foundation of the home. read more

I always plan to be at the house when I'm informed a day ahead. However, this time I'm told the computer scheduled the appointment. This will cause me to discontinue service with Aptive, if I'm not alerted the day before the service appointment. One recommendation I can give to the technician is that he call or text the day before to allow me to make arrangements for working from home on the day of the service appointment. Come on Aptive, where is your customer service? The computer can schedule the appointments, the computer can alert the customers 1-2 days in advance. read more

Been enjoying aptive for the better part of a year and can definitely say since they have started showing up there have been less bugs inside the home. Whenever there is a new occurence i can call and they will send someone out usually within 48hrs. Recently been having ants come into the house ,tis the time of year and Ramon Guzman showed them no mercy. I have not seen the ants since treatment. Very satisfied customer here. So bad that I created a Yelp account ... The quarterly service from Aptive is overpriced and underwhelming. I saw no reduction in the amount of pests inside my home or in my yard. To make matters worse, service was performed one quarter without my knowledge and the next communication I received in the mail was from a "collection agency" for an unpaid balance. After trying to resolve the matter with Aptive through this agency, seeking to avoid a cancellation fee, I was told they would not accept normal payment or continue service. They were so set in their ways that they turned down $260 in revenue (2 more quarters of service) for $80 less any charges for using the collection agency to collect the "debt" from me. I made an appointment with Aptive for my mother, who was in the hospital at the time. I had one day, in town from California, to help her deal with her rodent issue. Aptive showed up, and told me that they would not service the house unless I signed their one-year contract. This was not communicated to me over the phone when I made the appointment. I asked the service guy to call his manager, and I pretty much begged him to allow me to sign a short-term contract instead - giving him details of my need and the unique circumstances. He flat out refused to help. So, terrible customer service overall all. Beware - there are plenty of other companies out there to choose from for pest control. read more

We signed up for Aptive about 8 months ago- before today everything was going fine. We just had a representative show up to our house high on drugs. It was the most bizarre behavior I've ever seen from anyone- it was like we were talking to a drone. We thought it was a joke at first but it became apparent it was not. We asked him a few times if he was ok and he repeatedly responded with "your services are complete" over and over. He even walked past my husband while walking to the front door to knock as though he didn't even see him. We both called to get in touch with the company, and they are not in on the weekends. We will be taking our business elsewhere. Employees in the state he arrived in are a hazard and furthermore should not be operating a motor vehicle. read more

This company lied to get us to sign a service agreement and would not release us from it upon our multiple complaints about the service. I agree with other comments that question whether they even do the work they claim to do, as we still have all the bugs they promise to get rid of. My main complaint is the lack of truth- one person tells you one thing and another directly contradicts the statement moments later. I had a year of the service and it was not at all what the salesperson sold it to be. Each of the four visits the technician took a mop on a long pole and cleaned the spider webs from the awning. Then he fiddled in his truck for a while, walked around the house, then left. All 4 technicians were different and did the same thing. There was no spraying of ant block 3' up the wall, no spraying 3' from the foundation, no granule treatment of the lawn - like the hard-sell salesman stated. On one visit I showed the tech ant hills in the lawn. He put some Bifen granules on the specific ant hill I showed him. Their work is a joke. On the first treatment I moved everything away from the garage wall and asked the tech to treat the garage. That was ignored, nothing done. When the ants got in the house, I called, they came out and placed the ant bait that you get at Home depot. Aptive has a goal, it is to minimize overhead, apply the least amount of product, and wait for you to complain. read more

My first experience with this company was good. I do not believe they did everything the sales rep stated. But overall the service was good. Second experience with this company was a let down. I scheduled my second appointment for today at 10 am. 10 comes and goes, I did not receive a call or text. I called the office and the woman I spoke to was very courteous but stated there was no time window on the record and that they would not get to my home till later. Aptive was going around our neighborhood end of July selling their pest control service for $99 for the initial spraying/inspection service with quarterly service at $119. I was told by the representative that in about 30 days they would return at NO CHARGE to take care of the spiders that had not yet emerged. I received an email today that my appt on 9/4/20 would be for a QUARTERLY SERVICE and after a call was told that this was NOT complimentary, but I would be charged $119 and then my next QUARTERLY SERVICE would occur in November and I would again be charged $119. Not a math wizard here, but no charge is $0 and quarterly is every 3 months! When I spoke to the manager, he tried to reduce the price of the 9/4/20 appt twice and I stood firm to the $0. He wouldn't budge so I asked what the cost would be to cancel the contract ($250). I told him that I would have to talk to my husband and I may be calling him back to cancel the contract, asked if the customer service rep could handle the cancellation - he said I needed to talk to someone in management. I kid you not - as soon as I got off the phone call, I received a bill for $250. I called back and asked customer service about it and she said it looks like your account has been closed out that invoice is for the service cancellation fee. I never called back to cancel the service yet! Such disrespect - they lie to get your service and I'm going back to Terminix. I had a bad feeling in the beginning about this and I should have trusted my gut. If you signed up in that time period and were told the same thing, you may want to call to check out your options. read more

Baltimore branch Horrible Service. No shows on appts . Customer Service poor understanding of customers who have bad experiences. It took them a year to get me after DTD solicitation and less than 4 months to lose me as a customer. I suggest anyone not to listen to the promises of the salesman of how good they will treat you as a consumer it's a lie! The company prefers ( see contract ) your not home to do outside of Home list it as a convience to you it's actually for them . We are just using aptive for few months now and we are happy about their service so far. Graham Yarmas came to our place to do the spray around house. He is very nice and sensitive about we have have little children at home, so he is careful. We still bugs around, but the bugs problem gets better now. We have some problems about the time they arrived, but it was minor. read more

The way your hoverboard salespeople operate is really disgusting. Even though I told the guy that I was already under contract with another company he persisted with his sales pitch and would not take no for an answer. He also refused to give me any printed information, saying that I have to agree to the service first before he would give me anything in writing. Sounds a bit shady to me, don't you think? It was the same thing a few months ago when I just closed the door after I became annoyed with his unrelenting sales pitch. This time, even walking away from him and closing the door in his face, he had the audacity to come back the next day. When I saw who it was and without opening the door I yelled at him to get away from my house. When he left I told him I was going to call the police which I did and gave them a report. Now that I have your company name, the next time this happens I will give the police that information. read more

Technicians are OK. Some are actually really nice, and very good with attention to details, which is why I stayed with them for over a year. The office staff in Baltimore, however, are disorganized! They have poor customer service over the phone and unprofessional via email (no signature, full of typos, etc...). They send technicians without confirming what time is good for you. They even have 'problems with their notification system' and charge you ~$99/service, which they refuse to refund! Another organization needs to buy or manage them. read more

They are terrible. I have had them for a year now and I had less ants/spiders around my house when I did the treatment myself. I used them because they also did the lawn. The lawn and exterior of my house are riddled with ants and spiders. The spiders and ants have now moved their way in to the house. I had an appointment for them to do a full interior and exterior treatment today from 9 AM-12 PM that I took off work for. I called them at 11 AM just because I had a feeling they screwed something up. Low and behold they did. They told me my appointment was switched from 1 PM-5 PM instead of 9 AM-12 PM without any one telling me. Needless to say I canceled my service and I am going to Home Depot to buy home max defense and doing it myself. Save your time and money. DO NOT USE APTIVE. read more

I was at her house when Caleer came .He was clearly hungover and smelled of Alcohol, with white substance on his nose..REALLY!!!!..He asked for my sister..I let him know she was not home..He told me that was fine..He asked me for some water..Then chuckled and said "Long Night"..I let Caleer know that ..I prefer my sister to be here.Althogh he did not need to come inside I did not trust him..This man is suppose to be an advocate for this company.. I am very disappointed with the customer service from this company. I was initially convinced about the deal the Door-to-door salesman was selling me so I signed the contract on a Saturday to be treated on Monday. On Sunday I tried canceling the service, but they were closed. I called first thing Monday morning and they canceled my service. On June 10th I wanted to make sure they weren't going to charge me the $50 service fee bc they hadn't done any work yet, so I called back and I asked them if I was going to get charged the $50. I was transferred to the manager. The manager told me that he can remove the $50 charge but needs to call me back so he can pull my information up on his computer. I asked to just be put on hold. He said okay, and when he returned he said the charge was removed from my account. Today, (July 8th) I received an email saying that I have a balance of $50. When I called the lady, she said that the notes on the computer state that I cancelled service but doesn't say that the manager would cancel the initial service fee. I asked to speak to a manager, and she told me she couldn't bc she was at the call center and didn't have access to the managers phone number. Instead, she will send an email to the manager and I should be called back within 24 hours... This ongoing dance has been very inconvenient, inconsiderate, and honestly very shady. read more
