He thought their special promotion system, at a fixed price including a control panel, battery backup, 10 transmitters and 3 motion detectors, would do it, but at my request, he also added on smoke and CO monitors at a very reasonable charge. He said there was no need for a pre-install visit, so we just made the appointment. Ryan showed up at the appointed time to do the install, and he was knowledgeable, courteous, and competent. In a couple of hours, he was done. He walked me through everything, and I had exactly what I wanted, with no upsell, no confusion, no disappointments. This system meets my needs perfectly. I can gladly add my own recommend for APS. Our home is pre-wired for an alarm system but the original equipment was pretty 'vintage' along with a mish-mash of panels and other wireless stuff from ADT added on over the years by the previous residents. I agree with the other review that if I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. I had a bad experience in my other house when I called who I thought was ADT and they sent out some other company that was one of their authorized dealers. Needless to say, they couldn't figure out how to get my existing wiring working, so instead of having every door and window wired in, they stuck big ugly white plastic contacts on the doors only. They also put in "cellular monitoring" which never worked because I didn't have cell service. I should have known by the hard sell for the 2 year monitoring contract that something was wrong. NEVER AGAIN. The system constantly broke and one time it was beeping constantly very loudly and they told me it would be a week to get someone out to fix the month old system. When I complained, they sent someone out but charged me a service fee! I called another company I found on yelp when I moved. They sent someone out on two different days to locate wires and I called them twice for the estimate and they never returned my calls. I then found Aaron at APS. It has been the best alarm experience I have ever had. We have a difficult system where some of the wires had been cut during renovations. He was able to diagnose everything, hook into the existing wiring that he could and found great solutions for all of my problems. Not only that, but he and Ben were so friendly and easy to work with. Aaron walked me through how to use the system and the app on my phone to work the alarm. The honeywell system he put in is far superior to the cheap ADT system I had before. Aaron is above all honest: he will assess your place, existing wiring and equipment, and offer the best value for money you can get on the market, as opposed to suggesting to start over and charge extra $$$. Aaron is thorough, courteous, straight to the point and knows how to keep a certain distance with his customers vs. showcasing an excessive amount of warmth or friendliness. I've found Aaron to always be willing to answer all questions over the past year, even if some probably get on his nerves. Note: it is a rather small company and therefore Aaron is often quite busy managing the operation. In general, lead-time to get a response is fairly short, which is always appreciated. An old ADT alarm system that we had not hooked up starting going off intermittently over the last two days in the home we purchased.
