I decided I needed to up my security game and after the house I just moved out of was burglarized twice - once by way of a brick thrown through the window while I was home. This left me shaken up. I spoke with several other companies and then Vernon came out. I can say that immediately you feel safe in his presence and it's very clear he cares about ensuring people are safe and FEEL safe in their homes. He is a former cop and it shows. He is someone with the experience and instincts to really understand safety and that was very apparent in our conversations. He's not a salesman - he's a security expert who knows what you need and is honest and direct. He didn't try to upsell me on excessive unnecessary items like other companies. He asked about my goals and truly sought to understand exactly what I wanted before giving his suggestions. I asked tons of questions which he answered thoroughly and patiently. The best part about the experience was he could instantly tell I was shaken up from a previous incident and was so compassionate while still being direct. He talked to me about how to keep myself safe in case of another break-in given the layout of the new house and improve overall house safety in other ways. He even noticed the doors weren't installed correctly and missing tiny parts that make a door super easy to kick in. You don't always get more bang for your buck and it's definitely much more expensive than a DIY Google Nest self install, but I will sleep better at night knowing I got the true expert advice I needed to keep myself and my home safe. Due to the permitting system in the area and the issues with the owner of the house I lease there may be issues with getting one feature but I am going very out of my way to find a way to get what he thinks I need. So glad I made that last call to APS. read more

I was going to go with these guys until the price quoted on site went up 50% when I wanted it in writing. He was also wobbly when I asked how long the install would take which would affect the price ("it depends"). I didn't need it carved in stone when the guy came to the house, but I think that after I walked him through the house he decided we could afford more - and this was the owner, not some sales guy. I guess he thought I was stupid, but I'm getting more quotes now. read more

We had an issue with our alarm and Aaron came out personally to handle it. It was an issue with a motion detector and while he was here he helped us add some codes to our alarm and answered a bunch of questions for us. Great service! This type of personalized service is why we switched from ADT to APS! Many thanks to Aaron! read more

I needed help in re-starting my home alarm system and of course, it's Saturday, so I was not able to reach the home office. I called the number on my alarm system, and they set me up with a field agent. Fidel was able to talk me through the re-start and this saved me from having to pay for someone to come out and do it for me. I have been dealing with this company now for about 6 years and have always had good service. Thanks Fidel. read more

I'm very pleased with APS and Fidel who performed a very efficient and clean installation, retrofitting my old Westec system with a new Honeywell/Resideo system, leveraging my existing hard wiring, while adding several wireless motion sensors. The price was a bit more than the off-the-shelf wireless Ring and Simplisafe systems, but I really found it advantageous to leverage the existing hard wired door and window contacts, not to mention having the nicer touch screen panels. I highly recommend Aaron, Fidel and APS. read more

I've tried ADT and simplisafe, but APS is clearly the best IMO. Very professional, the tech is great, and support is everything you need. My 2nd home using APS. They are super pro, but not trying to sell you on unnecessary things. Can't recommend them enough. read more

6 year update-Aaron and the APS team continue to be responsive, knowledgeable, professional and trustworthy. He is focused on the long-term customer relationship-not just doing the big $$ installs and disappearing soon thereafter (as has been the practice of many security companies). We've updated cameras and equipment, serviced cameras and had questions over the years and APS has shown up every single time. Aaron continues to be involved in the day-to-day. He literally answers his phone-something you rarely see these days. In the super competitive employment market, he's managed to retain amazing original employees (Jerry B is still with the company and helpful as always) and attract/hire/train amazing new employees (Fidel is a star/mensch!) Happy to say I'd pick APS again and again as our home security provider. Thanks Aaron, Jerry and Fidel! read more

I can't say enough nice things about Aaron and APS Security. I bought a new house this year and wasn't satisfied with the existing alarm system, so I found APS on Yelp. The company was honest, upfront and very reasonably priced. The owner was personally available to help me get onboard. They tested every existing sensor, added some new ones, wired everything exactly as I asked for it and are always available if I need to call and have questions. Since the install I haven't had a single issue that needed fixing. Don't waste your money with ADT or some large faceless company. APS will protect your property with far better service. read more

Just moved in to our new house so I called my previous company that was super cheap to give me a quote but they didn't even respond for a whole week. I wasn't super happy with them anyways so I looked on Yelp and found these guys after reading all the great reviews. Reached out and Aaron responded quickly, answered my questions fast. I was leaving town on vacation so really wanted my system installed before leaving, although it was last minute they accommodated an install date for me. Couple of guys showed up Felix and can't remember the other but super polite and clean, did a great clean install. The app and touch screen are very cool as is the equipment they used, all wireless. So far very happy with them, will update if necessary in the future. read more

APS Security Systems - Key pad - Security Systems Near Me - Los Angeles, California

We just had our system installed and couldn't be happier. From the moment we reached out, to the finalization of installation, these guys are the absolute best! After using various security systems over the pst 35+ years, we finally made the jump to a more private company versus big brand names like adt. They were all fine, but we got tired of the constant sales gimmicks, over-charging, billing errors, and overall slow response from customer service. From the first call with Aaron on the phone, we received immediate responses and answers. He quoted me basic, very competitive pricing over the phone, walked me through all the options, and throughly answered all my questions. Fidel and Alex showed up on time for the installation. Masked and shoe covers at hand, they came right in and got to work. Fidel's been with the company for 6 years, that truly says a lot about the company to have someone stay on that long, and it really shows. He knows the system inside and out, his professionalism and efficiency enabled us to continue our work-day without any interruption. They were in and out so fast, very patient in going over all the details, and tidied up well. Looking forward to starting up with this company, thanks guys! read more

Completely incompetent people, they made us lose weeks before dropping us for our projects at the last minute. We are moving to a new office and they gave us a first quote that we rejected. We changed 1 or 2 things and they decided to drop us after more than two weeks of talking because we are not "profitable enough"... Even if we had to pay $10k! Basically if you're not stupid enough to buy everything they want you to buy they won't work with you... And they are everything but responsive. It takes them days to answer your emails! So unprofessional! I've never seen contractors as bad as them. These people just don't know what they are doing, they Should really consider another career... Like clowns! Especially the operations manager. This guy is a joke!! read more

Can't say enough good things about APS. If you're looking for a security system, look no further. I got quotes from three different providers in my neighborhood and APS was the highest rated on Yelp, friendliest customer service - quick to respond and set up an appointment - and the best price. Win, win, win. I walked APS through the layout of our house and they suggested what they thought we needed, they didn't try to tack on extra costs and unlike other providers, didn't try to scare us into purchasing things we don't need. This is an honest company that is truly looking out for their customers and wants to find the solution that suits them (vs up-charging at every turn). Fidel did the installation at our house and was very communicative pre, during and post-setup. He spent time carefully walking me through how the system works, app installation etc and answered all of my questions. Really appreciate his care and attention to detail. Fantastic experience end-to-end! read more

Outstanding company. I am a PM for a large estate which needed a security system. After interviewing many companies, I settled on APS. Why, well first of all the Yelp reviews were very very good. Secondly was Aron Hoffman of APS. This guy was right on with every aspect of outlining exactly what was needed for this project. Also, Aron costed out exactly to my specifications as well as suggesting other cost saving ideas. No overcharging here. Fidel and Alex were the installers and needless to say they were just the best. Went above and beyond to do extensive rewiring and repairs from old system. So yes, I recommend this company. Just call them and see for yourself. Nothing to lose. read more

APS is fantastic. I am so happy I switched from ADT to APS. APS actually cares about its customers and provides excellent customer service, before and after signing the contract. I can sleep better at night now knowing I have a system from APS. read more

The technician Alex was super nice and accommodating, great work , efficient and patient with me as he informed me how to use the system. Feeling much ch safer read more

Aaron and the team at APS are the best! In 2020, I selected APS from several companies that provided estimates for a residential security camera system. While they were not the cheapest, they were cost competitive. It was also clear that their work was going to be much higher quality than their competitors. In the two years following installation I have not been disappointed. The system continues to work great, and APS has been very responsive when I call with questions or service needs. read more

From Aaron Hoffman's timely response and thorough assessment of our home's needs to improve our system over existing one to Fidel Zamarripa's thorough, conscientious, and patient installation and demonstration of new system, we couldn't be happier. It is refreshing to find what appears to be ethical approaches to all aspects of this changeover to APS. When one of the installed sensors was noted as faulty, the response to correct was immediate. read more

More than 5 stars! We recently went through a remodel on our home in Brentwood and I knew that I no longer wanted to continue with ADT security, which we had had for years, as the customer service and sales dept was terrible. I called several big and small companies in the area, met with reps and received competitive quotes....Yes APS did come in a bit lower than the others but that is the not the main reason we went with them FYI. Upon meeting Aaron, the owner of APS (yes the owner came over and met with us!), on a walk-through of our house during construction he took particular interest in how we utilize the rooms, the activities of our kids and who we are as a family. He never once tried to "sell" me on anything...just simply asked questions, listened and talked through options on how we could not only save money but how we could leverage things such as motion detectors for several spaces rather than overkill. APS is a small family run company and packs a powerful punch...the customer service is top notch, anytime I email or call with an issue (and when I say "issue", it's simply a question I've had on how things work...the equipment is top notch) I am able to speak with them immediately and they are always willing to help. There is nothing like partnering with a company that is going to help protect your home and knowing that they are human too and have a family. I wouldn't use any other security company in LA hands down. read more

I was very impressed with the approach that APS took with the installation of our Security system. Ryan came to the install prepared, we walked the job and explained our expectations. Ryan suggested some sound suggestions on our preliminary design and the efficiently completed the work. Aaron has been great with scheduling the work and following up to ensure we were satisfied. I would recommend this APS Security very strongly to others installing a security system in their home.i read more

I had my alarm installed this morning and I must say that Ryan was as good as it gets. They left no messes behind, the alarm is working perfectly and in addition to being respectful he was patient when I wanted an explanation about why we were doing what we were doing (yes, Aaron had gone over this all with me just a few weeks ago). I'll update this in a few months to include my experience with monitoring but I really do feel like I made a great decision with APS. read more

Great and professional services! They take safety seriously, and do all what it takes to accommodate their clients. Thank you! read more

On a Friday afternoon I had a dead battery, a noisy beeping alarm tone and a locked control box. My original alarm installer moved about an hour away and wasn't responding to calls. I searched on Yelp, and Aaron give me a DIY suggestion, which was nice of him. I wasn't able to execute his idea (not strong enough to pry open the control box), but within an hour he had a technician, Ryan, show up to change the battery. Ryan was courteous and very professional, and it turns out their business is just blocks away from my condo. Ryan told me APS has a combined experience in security systems of 50 years. My problem got solved, and on a Friday afternoon when most everyone is headed out of town or done for the week and not returning calls. It did take a long time for my ears to stop ringing from that alarm tone! read more

I run a restaurant and due to recent crime in the area needed to find a security and camera system for the business. I spoke with several companies before settling on APS and I'm glad I did. They installed the perfect system for the business and now we can manage our employees through the app for the alarm system and check in on the business when we're away via the cameras. I couldn't be happier with the service we've received and if you're looking for a good company to handle your security look no further. Best business decision ever made. read more

As a homeowner in the Hollywood Hills, I'm no stranger to the home security business. I've been through multiple incarnations of what is now the mega-conglomerate "ADT Security." After many years of sub-par service, rising costs and outdated technology, I was ready for a change. Enter APS Security. A dear friend (who knows his tech stuff) recommended me to Aaron Hoffman and APS Security Systems and, from our first meeting, I knew he was my man. Smart, honest, low-key, knowledgeable, collaborative, strategic (re: security needs) and very cost-efficient. Aaron and his expert staff upgraded my aging ADT/Edison system with the most up-to-date YET easy to use technology and both the installation and training for me and my family was seamless. We kept what was still working and added/replaced what needed upgrading. Everything about the new security system now makes sense; we can all access the new system from our smartphones and it costs 30% LESS a month than the old system. I'm a computer-literate professional myself so, as you can imagine, I did my homework on this one before "buying." I can recommend Aaron Hoffman and APS Security for your home/commercial security system needs without reservation. read more

Just an update. Still great and very happy with the alarm. Today I called Aaron about a motion sensor that seemed faulty and one of the APS guys were at my house with a new one within a few hours. Great service. Thankyou read more

I had a recent installation and am very happy with the professionalism and service I received. Jerry did the installation and did such a thorough, clean job. After he completed the install, I couldn't even tell someone had drilled a hole in my wall. I had to leave for an appointment so Jerry didn't get a chance to train me on the system, so his boss Aaron did it for me over the phone. Aaron was clear, concise, and gave me lots of examples of how best to use my system. I had contemplated having TWC install my system, and I am glad I chose APS. Great service, follow through, and very professional. Thanks, APS team! read more

Let me start the review by saying that we have used ADT, Protection One, and other smaller companies for home monitoring/alarm systems. They may be a tad cheaper but Aaron's shop has been our best experience by far. 1. He can install a variety of different types of equipment and doesn't upsell. He lets you know when something isn't necessary. I appreciate the ability to customize. 2. His company is responsive and available. No well-meaning (if that) but under informed and un empowered call centers. 3. You can cancel at any time. No questions. No fees. We are moving out of state so had to discontinue service but would go back to this service if we ever moved back. Do yourself a favor. You work hard for your money so spend it well. This business is worth it. read more

Unfortunately, we had to install a security system in our house because of recent neighborhood break-ins. Did some research and found APS Security on Yelp. It seemed like every review mentioned Aaron and the great customer service. I called APS and sure enough talked to Aaron and set up an appointment. He came out to the house on-time and was very professional. He allowed us to ask stupid questions without making us feel stupid. He didn't try and sell us something we didn't need. He got back to us with a fair estimate and the system was installed the next week. The installer was professional and clearly explained the alarm system to my wife. The following week we experienced an electrical problem which was later diagnosed as a loose wire at a light switch on the same wall as our newly installed alarm panel. I called an electrician to diagnose the problem and he was not going to be able to get out to check until late afternoon. I called Aaron at APS at 8AM and explained the situation. During our phone conversation, Aaron stated that the problem probably occurred during the alarm installation. He immediately sent his installer to our house and he fixed the problem.....free of charge! I was able to cancel the electrician because APS took accountability and fixed it. Whether he was wrong or right, he fixed my problem and was professional. It is very difficult to find GREAT customer service. APS has GREAT customer service I highly recommend APS and Aaron. read more

Was leaving for work today when I found my parked car completely smashed. No one was around to see the accident and I was feeling completely helpless but Aaron is such a great person he came out and informed me that he has security cameras on the street and was willing to help me find who did it. Using his incredible security system we were able to find multiple angles of the driver and what type of vehicle did it. I wasn't a customer or anything just a stranger on the street who desperately needed help and this great individual decided he would take the time and use his resources to help someone in distress. 5/5 Aaron is the man. read more

I was referred to this company by my daughter. She's been using their service at her home for 6 years. Fidel installed the system yesterday. He was very conscientious and sensitive to my needs of wear I wanted to place the keypad. He was professional and efficient. After getting everything installed he spent time with me getting the app for my phone and going over the system to make sure I understood how it works and how I can contact them if there's ever a problem. Excellent service, so glad I made the change from another service. read more

Canceled ADT because the customer service is horrible!!! I came across APS security and so far it's been a great decision! Fidel the company installer was so nice and professional , He explained everything to us in detail and also gave us good information on how this amazing company operates. If you are looking for 5-star service call APS! Aaron came to visit us 30 minutes after my initial call. He thoroughly reviewed our existing systems, patiently listened to my issues with present company, described a recommendation, and promptly provided a quote (by the way extremely fair and competitive pricing). He exuded professionalism and knowledge all with a calm ethical nature. I contacted him again once we were able to rid ourselves of ADT (ZERO STARS). Within a few days he had a technician here to upgrade our systems to APS. They were able to reuse much of our existing equipment and saved us a ton of money. I would also like to give a shout out to Ben, the technician assigned to us. He was also knowledgeable, ethical, professional, and on time. Aaron stopped by towards the end of the instal to inspect the work and complete our paperwork. APS comes highly recommended by us! read more

I am so impressed with APS! I had them take over my system today, and they were able to get a technician within hours to help me as I am leaving town and wanted the security while I was away. Aaron was top notch, and informative the entire time. The crew that came today were so nice and couldn't have been more accommodating. I actually found APS on Yelp because of the high reviews and now I see why they are rated so highly! Excited to be a customer! read more

Our HOA in Sherman Oaks needed help in operating our LTS Camera Security System. The APS technician, Jerry, was a terrific help to us!  He was very knowledgeable and patient in explaining how our security system works to the Board members.  He also suggested some upgrades that we are considering to make the system more effective. APS was professional and reasonable in price. We are so glad we found this company! read more

If I could give them more stars I would! They made this whole process easy and didn't try to up sell me like my last alarm company did. They was honest, helpful and actually told me what I was looking for in my alarm system was more than I needed for my tiny condo. They gave me options, and let me choose what I needed. I get lost with this kind of stuff but they made me feel good about it. read more

We hired APS to upgrade our existing wired system and add a small wireless area. After speaking with Aaron, he sent a reasonable fixed quote. During the install, we ran into some connectivity issues due to the amount of steel beams and panel distance. Throughout the process, Aaron was always responsive and level headed. We eventually came up with a work around. His installers were able to fix multiple issues with some vexing existing problems. We've had a few minor issues since the install and Aaron has continued to be responsive. I would definitely recommend APS because of knowledge, patience and responsiveness of Aaron. read more

Aaron & Co. just recently installed an alarm at my residence. I couldn't be happier or feel more safe. The technology is really impressive. The iPhone app with the system and its abilities are state-of-the-art, and all the installed hardware keeps my house secure in a bunch of different ways. Sidenote: The whole way through, I would come up with these weird, terrible situations involving a home invasion and every time I did, Aaron would coolly, normally answer my crazy questions. The final point that I think is worth mentioning is that the contract I signed was only for 1 year. A lot of other companies insist you sign a 3-year contract into their system for 36 long months (longer than a long-ass cell contract). I feel APS and their 1-year contract shows their confidence in their product and monitoring. read more

I usually don't review many things, but had a great experience with Aaron and APS Security that really prompted me to tell you about it. Aaron came in and took over the system that the previous company completely destroyed because it was old and needed improvement. APS security was professional and always available, Aaron went the extra mile to make sure things worked as desired and within budget. I strongly recommend these guys, these are the type of guys you hire and bring to your office to make you look good as an administrator when things go south. read more

These guys are as good as it gets. They took my old system and cleaned it up, you should've seen the before and after. Thank gd for yelp or I would've used adt (previous owner used them) who told me I had to install everything from scratch. These guys are big but still small enough to care about their clients on a personal level and react quickly. It seems like every technician who came over was extremely knowledgeable and in personal contact with the owner of the company and cared very much about perfecting the job. read more

This company is one of the best I have worked with. They installed a Hik-Vision gate entry system for my house, which allows us to see who is at the main gate to our home, both through our mobile phones and through our intercoms at the house. It also allows us to let people in - either from the home or from our mobile phones. After having a terrible experience for 1 1/2 years with a different company, these guys came in and installed a perfectly working system in only 2 days. Extremely professional from start to finish - including the administration, staying in touch throughout the process, and technical knowledge. I highly, highly recommend them for your security needs. read more
