I decided I needed to up my security game and after the house I just moved out of was burglarized twice - once by way of a brick thrown through the window while I was home. This left me shaken up. I spoke with several other companies and then Vernon came out. I can say that immediately you feel safe in his presence and it's very clear he cares about ensuring people are safe and FEEL safe in their homes. He is a former cop and it shows. He is someone with the experience and instincts to really understand safety and that was very apparent in our conversations. He's not a salesman - he's a security expert who knows what you need and is honest and direct. He didn't try to upsell me on excessive unnecessary items like other companies. He asked about my goals and truly sought to understand exactly what I wanted before giving his suggestions. I asked tons of questions which he answered thoroughly and patiently. The best part about the experience was he could instantly tell I was shaken up from a previous incident and was so compassionate while still being direct. He talked to me about how to keep myself safe in case of another break-in given the layout of the new house and improve overall house safety in other ways. He even noticed the doors weren't installed correctly and missing tiny parts that make a door super easy to kick in. You don't always get more bang for your buck and it's definitely much more expensive than a DIY Google Nest self install, but I will sleep better at night knowing I got the true expert advice I needed to keep myself and my home safe. Due to the permitting system in the area and the issues with the owner of the house I lease there may be issues with getting one feature but I am going very out of my way to find a way to get what he thinks I need. I needed help in re-starting my home alarm system and of course, it's Saturday, so I was not able to reach the home office. I'm very pleased with APS and Fidel who performed a very efficient and clean installation, retrofitting my old Westec system with a new Honeywell/Resideo system, leveraging my existing hard wiring, while adding several wireless motion sensors. The price was a bit more than the off-the-shelf wireless Ring and Simplisafe systems, but I really found it advantageous to leverage the existing hard wired door and window contacts, not to mention having the nicer touch screen panels. I can't say enough nice things about Aaron and APS Security. I bought a new house this year and wasn't satisfied with the existing alarm system, so I found APS on Yelp. The company was honest, upfront and very reasonably priced. The owner was personally available to help me get onboard. They tested every existing sensor, added some new ones, wired everything exactly as I asked for it and are always available if I need to call and have questions. Just moved in to our new house so I called my previous company that was super cheap to give me a quote but they didn't even respond for a whole week. I wasn't super happy with them anyways so I looked on Yelp and found these guys after reading all the great reviews. Reached out and Aaron responded quickly, answered my questions fast. Completely incompetent people, they made us lose weeks before dropping us for our projects at the last minute. We are moving to a new office and they gave us a first quote that we rejected. We changed 1 or 2 things and they decided to drop us after more than two weeks of talking because we are not "profitable enough"... Even if we had to pay $10k! Basically if you're not stupid enough to buy everything they want you to buy they won't work with you... And they are everything but responsive. It takes them days to answer your emails! So unprofessional! I've never seen contractors as bad as them. These people just don't know what they are doing, they Should really consider another career... Like clowns! We recently went through a remodel on our home in Brentwood and I knew that I no longer wanted to continue with ADT security, which we had had for years, as the customer service and sales dept was terrible. I called several big and small companies in the area, met with reps and received competitive quotes....Yes APS did come in a bit lower than the others but that is the not the main reason we went with them FYI. Upon meeting Aaron, the owner of APS (yes the owner came over and met with us!), on a walk-through of our house during construction he took particular interest in how we utilize the rooms, the activities of our kids and who we are as a family. He never once tried to "sell" me on anything...just simply asked questions, listened and talked through options on how we could not only save money but how we could leverage things such as motion detectors for several spaces rather than overkill. On a Friday afternoon I had a dead battery, a noisy beeping alarm tone and a locked control box. My original alarm installer moved about an hour away and wasn't responding to calls. I searched on Yelp, and Aaron give me a DIY suggestion, which was nice of him. I wasn't able to execute his idea (not strong enough to pry open the control box), but within an hour he had a technician, Ryan, show up to change the battery. Ryan was courteous and very professional, and it turns out their business is just blocks away from my condo. Ryan told me APS has a combined experience in security systems of 50 years. My problem got solved, and on a Friday afternoon when most everyone is headed out of town or done for the week and not returning calls. Was leaving for work today when I found my parked car completely smashed. No one was around to see the accident and I was feeling completely helpless but Aaron is such a great person he came out and informed me that he has security cameras on the street and was willing to help me find who did it. Let me start the review by saying that we have used ADT, Protection One, and other smaller companies for home monitoring/alarm systems. They may be a tad cheaper but Aaron's shop has been our best experience by far. 1. He can install a variety of different types of equipment and doesn't upsell. He lets you know when something isn't necessary. I appreciate the ability to customize. 2. His company is responsive and available. No well-meaning (if that) but under informed and un empowered call centers. 3. You can cancel at any time. No questions. No fees. We are moving out of state so had to discontinue service but would go back to this service if we ever moved back. Do yourself a favor. You work hard for your money so spend it well. Unfortunately, we had to install a security system in our house because of recent neighborhood break-ins. Did some research and found APS Security on Yelp. It seemed like every review mentioned Aaron and the great customer service. I called APS and sure enough talked to Aaron and set up an appointment. He came out to the house on-time and was very professional. He allowed us to ask stupid questions without making us feel stupid. He didn't try and sell us something we didn't need. He got back to us with a fair estimate and the system was installed the next week. The installer was professional and clearly explained the alarm system to my wife. The following week we experienced an electrical problem which was later diagnosed as a loose wire at a light switch on the same wall as our newly installed alarm panel. I called an electrician to diagnose the problem and he was not going to be able to get out to check until late afternoon. I called Aaron at APS at 8AM and explained the situation. During our phone conversation, Aaron stated that the problem probably occurred during the alarm installation. He immediately sent his installer to our house and he fixed the problem.....free of charge! I was able to cancel the electrician because APS took accountability and fixed it. Whether he was wrong or right, he fixed my problem and was professional. It is very difficult to find GREAT customer service. We hired APS to upgrade our existing wired system and add a small wireless area. After speaking with Aaron, he sent a reasonable fixed quote. During the install, we ran into some connectivity issues due to the amount of steel beams and panel distance. Throughout the process, Aaron was always responsive and level headed. We eventually came up with a work around. His installers were able to fix multiple issues with some vexing existing problems. We've had a few minor issues since the install and Aaron has continued to be responsive. I would definitely recommend APS because of knowledge, patience and responsiveness of Aaron. read more

Aaron & Co. just recently installed an alarm at my residence. I couldn't be happier or feel more safe. The technology is really impressive. The iPhone app with the system and its abilities are state-of-the-art, and all the installed hardware keeps my house secure in a bunch of different ways. Sidenote: The whole way through, I would come up with these weird, terrible situations involving a home invasion and every time I did, Aaron would coolly, normally answer my crazy questions. The final point that I think is worth mentioning is that the contract I signed was only for 1 year. A lot of other companies insist you sign a 3-year contract into their system for 36 long months (longer than a long-ass cell contract). This company is one of the best I have worked with. They installed a Hik-Vision gate entry system for my house, which allows us to see who is at the main gate to our home, both through our mobile phones and through our intercoms at the house. It also allows us to let people in - either from the home or from our mobile phones. After having a terrible experience for 1 1/2 years with a different company, these guys came in and installed a perfectly working system in only 2 days.
