After sending photos to one company (at their request) and never getting a call back, I contacted another company who charged me $178.00 for the service call and said I needed $2500.00 worth of new equipment to fix my doorbell intercom. I would like to give this company 5 stars because Bruce, the owner seems to be a very decent guy. But what's the point of review sites if reviews arent totally honest right! So here goes: Things I liked: 1. Bruce, the owner, was pleasant and showed up on time at 9:30 am 2. Bruce seems to really know his stuff when it comes to alarm systems 3. My alarm system now works again, and works much better than before 4. Bruce is easy to talk to and if you have a problem or issue, he seems genuinely interested in finding a solution Things I didn't like: 1. Secure Tech charges a "$35 trip fee." What is that ? It's not like I had the option of going to Secure Tech! To be fair, this charge was not hidden but rather, was disclosed up front. Bruce later explained that this fee offsets his time lost to traveling in the congested L.A. area. None of the other alarm companies I called charged this fee of charged for travel time. 2. Inefficient use of time led to a much bigger bill ($765.00) than expected. For example, Bruce initially sold me a new alarm siren before testing the old one or testing the wiring. AFTER he installed the new siren he determined the wiring was actually the problem. Siren now gets uninstalled which takes time. I tested the old siren afterwards and it works fine. At $120/hour, time not well managed gets costly very fast. In my view, inefficient time management/planning made the job take longer and thus much more expensive. 3. After spending $765 to repair and upgrade my 20+ year old alarm system, my neighbor laughed at me because he just purchased a brand new, state of the art wireless alarm system for under $400 (installed and monitored for $35/month!) and which provides much better security than mine. Bruce never discussed this option with me. In hindsight, had I known I would have replaced my old system with a newer, modern computerized alarm system for nearly half the price. Hard to do that now having spent so much money on this repair. While i am overall satisfied with Secure Tech's work, and Bruce is a very nice person, I'm not sure I'd use Secure Tech in the future. I would have wanted "new system" options discussed before the repairs were done, and would liked to have seen better time management. UPDATE: I think it very irresponsible that an alarm company owner who serviced my home alarm system to advertise on Yelp that my alarm system is not monitored!! Is he he crazy or what? I am a single disabled woman with 20% total use of my hands on a fixed income. Violently assaulted by a tenant and his girlfriend. Afterwards they began systematically tearing my home apart. Cut cords to all appliances (Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Stove, Vacuums, etc) Shattered TV's and every computer in the home, including kitchen counter appliances. Totaling $50,000 in damages to my property! The girlfriend faked injuries not inflicted by me. I was taken to the hospital by ambulance twice. Diagnosed with the following: - Fractured eye socket (causing vision loss and a permanent and faded black eye for life) - Traumatic brain injury (confusion, severe memory and cognitive impairment) - Re-fractures of both hands while attempting to brace the fall. My head hit the concrete and I was knocked out. While her boyfriend video tapped the entire ordeal grinning. Santa Clarita Sheriff's arrived and were hostile, rude, useless, and left me feeling more violated than the assault. If I wanted to go to jail for mutual combat, ONLY THEN could I press assault charges. Listen folks the handwritten statement on police cars reading "to protect and to serve" is a flat out lie as when I called back for help, they refused to come unless I was willing to go to jail. As the Sheriffs left, they pointed to the one camera I had installed but wasn't linked to the DVR...and said.. If you had this and the other cameras you have hooked up correctly and recording, we wouldn't be having this conversation. We would have taken them to jail. If you have ever felt in fear for your life, assaulted, threatened, you know what I am talking about. IMPORTANT: "You don't have to simply put up with it." One can only imagine the vulnerable, hollow, disgrace, an act of violence like this scars you with. I happened to have a new security system but it needed installed. Using Yelp I called Secure Technology. My call was returned promptly by Bruce, a seasoned pro. His in depth knowledge literally knocked my socks off. Although the company was already booked for the day, he created an opening regardless. The service technician sent out was able to come earlier than originally scheduled. He listened, we planned, he made it happen along with Bruce and I can't thank them enough. The technician was in a word EXTRAORDINARY! AND.....Knowledgeable, helpful, kind, compassionate and literally made miracles happen for me. For the first time since my attack, I felt safe If i were you, I wouldn't call ANYONE ELSE. Absolutely horrible customer service, I would warn you all personally via phone if I could! The guy showed up an hour late to my house and after investigating my Camera DVR box, we came to the conclusion that because I didn't know the login information he'd have to contact the manufacturer and get it jailbroken (fine by me). He wrote down the model and serial number and I paid him $130 cash for the visit and he promised to come back once they got it jailbroken (would take a week or so). Fast forward 4 weeks, no call from these guys. I placed a call to their office and they took my name and number and nobody called me back for 2 weeks. So I called again and spoke to the owner (Bruce I believe). He said his tech didn't have any records of my serial number or so forth and I would have to provide that to him. I was shocked considering the guy wrote it all down and came out here! I told him to please have the guy check his notes and to call me back, because he wrote it all down. Guess what!? No call back ever! It's been 6 months keep in mind. Professionalism at its worst! I rarely write bad reviews but after throwing away $130 for a pointless visit, I felt compelled to warn all of you before you get them out to your home. read more

Perfect from start to finish! I had an intercom system that was failing. Every place I called, I could only get a receptionist on the phone, who had no idea about anything. Here, I got through right away to the owner. He set an appointment time and arrived exactly on time, including the courtesy call I had requested 30 minutes prior. When he pulled up, I looked inside his rig, I have never seen a more organized van, everything in labeled metal drawers, tidy and tight and right. He quickly sized up the problem and explained my two options for repair, the expensive one and the less expensive one. His repair was perfect and he shared good advice on how to get another item in my home working better, and he was right! I got a clear, well written invoice. OK. so, i was searching for a company that installs security cameras in addition to our existing ones in my work, and i came across this one online. i called and asked for a quote, but the guy said they need to come first before they could give an estimate, which is understandable. BUT when I ask about the cost per camera, he became sarcastic and rude. He said, "look, i don't even know what kind of camera you have so i can't give you an estimate". can't you even at least ask what cameras we have? i mean, i was just asking about the price for each camera, not including the labor. This is my first time calling for the installment of security camera, so I don't know anything or what steps they need to do first. And when i asked what types of cameras they have since it not on there website, he mentioned a brand, which i didn't understand because he was talking so fast like he was so annoyed. and he told me, "just google it". What kind of customer service was that? If you get so annoyed easily and doesn't have patience to customers who doesn't know about your services, then, might as well do not answer the phone calls. i was really considering this company because the also install phone lines, but after that phone call, being "assisted" by a rude man, I take it back. it was a mistake calling this company.
