    Mmmm raw cold steak dinner
    Matt S.

Can I give a 0 star? Sat down, 10 minutes later finally got asked about our drinks, all we got were waters, they did not bring it until 5 minutes after our damn entrees got there! Awful service, but how about the food, I ordered a steak , medium-rare, it was RAW, and cold just like the shrimp, mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli, all cold, they took it off my bill, but when asked about how everything else was, I said my 5 year old is eating his burger, The waitress says, that's all that matters right...LOL. Yea Forget pleasing the other people at this table with edible food and good service, as long as that kids meal is being ate, our job is complete! Never returning

My husband got the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and that was very good too (we tasted each other's meals), but I liked my Lemon chicken better.

For food, of course the chicken wings are their staple food and the quality is good. They have a standard of allowing you to choose multiple wing sauces for wing orders of 10 or more. This is great because it doesn't restrict you to one flavor for large orders of wings. The burgers, pasta, and salads are also very good. My server was very helpful and exercised very friendly customer service. Overall a good experience. I will visit again when in West Reading, PA.

Fun restaurant and bar in the Reading, PA area!…read more My friends and I were traveling through Pennsylvania and we wanted dinner, a place to watch a football game, and good food/beer. We found Brewer's on Yelp and and were very happy with our visit. Brewer's had a local feel to do it and a lively atmosphere for a Thursday night. The food menu has a large selection of different types of food so almost anyone can find something to eat. Great selection of beer with a lot of regional offerings. Also seem to run a special for different types of alcohol for most nights of the week ($6 large draft IPA beer on Thursday night). I ordered the brisket meatloaf sandwich that came with BBQ sauce and gouda cheese on top. The sandwich was very tasty and I especially enjoyed the pretzel roll it was served on. I liked that I was able to substitute a side of perogies instead of chips. The moon ranch grilled chicken sandwich was a little underwhelming and the moon sauce was the only positive to that sandwich. The service was good and our server checked back in with us multiple times during our visit. There's also a beer outlet with a large selection of craft beer attached to the restaurant so you can take local craft beer home with you. They call themselves a small place with the BIG selection!

Based on the number of metal-shirt-wearing folks at the restaurant, I figured I'd found the best local spot before the show. Next time I'm at the Pike Cafe I'll get more to eat; this time all I needed was something small and their bruschetta plate was just what I'd been in the mood for. I haven't had bruschetta this style before, with a bowl of the bruschetta components and the bread separately. It was unbelievably good. I wish I was eating it again right now, as I type this. I didn't try the fries, but my friend did, and he said they were some of the best fries he's ever had. The servers were friendly and beer prices reasonable (Sunday nights, Miller Lites $3!). The people next to me got to pull a number out of a raffle, or something like that, since they were wearing sports clothing. So, something to keep in mind next time.

AMBIANCE: Coming in we were immediately greeted by security and he took our IDs and scanned them on a computer which verified our age and things (thought that was cool since I've never seen that). The place itself is just one huge bar, not much of a dance area or eating area. I noted some tables in the back but other than that the entire space is taken up by the bar which is good for those crowded weekend nights. The DJ was also playing some pretty good music SERVICE: We were serviced right away. The bar tender recognized my girlfriend from a previous visit she had and greeted her which I thought was nice. I asked him about food but he told me the kitchen was closed at that time and he proceeded to tell me the schedule for the kitchen on the weekends which was helpful. DRINKS: We ordered a Corona and a Jack & Coke. The Jack & Coke was huge! I watched him pour it and he gave us a double without even asking for it! It was only $7! That was great, it was too strong for me but my girlfriend enjoyed it. I really appreciate him. I wish I could've tasted some food to better fill out my review but I will come back to this bar simply because it's one of the "spots" in town where I can hang out with people that look like me.

Throw in some TVs, a big U-shape bar for maximum area, thus making it my favorite bar shape. Have you ever been standing in one of those straight-line bars, and you're about three layers of people away from even sniffing the bar. It's claustrophobic, it creates a needless bottleneck, it feels like you're about to be crushed. Not here. It's open with super high ceilings. You can go outside and play cornhole in the crisp fall air. The whole place is easily accessible either by using the parking lot out front or the even bigger parking lot in the rear. I think there is some sort of hidden ballroom downstairs for private events. Every now and then you see a whole wedding procession just casually stroll on through. I guess it's the hot destination, which makes total sense when you take a step back and can see Sly Fox for what it truly is, which is your cookie cutter craft brewery bar experience you've seen countless times up and down the eastern seaboard. I gotta give it to them, Sly Fox was one of the few breweries to break through to kind of the ultimate level. To the point where it goes well beyond just having your beer appear in local bar taps, but to be the establishment itself, and in this case, a successful chain of them. With its headquarters in Pottstown, it's always nice to see success stories like these with local roots. I will look back and think fondly of these days before it becomes a giant evil mega corporation snuffing the life out of smaller startup breweries like it once was by the dozen. Until then, might as well enjoy the ride.
