We visited the Harrisonville MO Applebee's on two days in May. On 05-18 about 3:30 pm we had an excellent server Steve. I had the All You Can Eat Ribs/Shrimp/Chicken ($15.99) which were plentiful, tasty, and Steve was very attentive to the orders and re-orders. The honey BBQ sauce on the ribs was slathered on well so plenty to enjoy. The chicken was covered with Buffalo sauce and had plenty of sauce and a good flavor. The meal comes with unlimited fries as well as a small cup of cole slaw. The cole slaw was good as expected, the fries were Applebee's fries. My wife got the Lemon Parmesan Chicken ($14.99). It was tasty and well cooked and enjoyable. The meal came with steamed broccoli and was good. On 05-25 about 12:00 pm we had server Stacy. I again had the All You Can Eat Ribs/Shrimp/Chicken ($15.99) and the ribs were again well covered in sauce and tasted well. The shrimp was also good. The chicken this time barely had any sauce on half of them, and they were very hard and well overcooked, almost inedible, difficult to even cut with the knife. She was a bit perturbed when refills were requested but Steve happened to come by and say hello and refills did not seem to be a problem after that for some reason. I asked if I could have my cole slaw and the server went to the kitchen and returned with it, no comment of any type. My wife originally ordered the Quesadilla Burger ($15.79) as the picture of it looked very good. However, when it came out, it looked nothing like the photo and my wife definitely looked disappointed. She said it looked terrible (it did) and was smaller than a meal for a child (it was). The picture shows the regular Applebee's burger (1/4 lb?) but the burger on this was smaller than the burger on a fast food child sandwich (less than 3" diameter and less than 1/8" tall). Yes, I measured it. It also looked overcooked beyond being edible and my wife liked things well done, but this appeared to be well done twice. We asked the server about it as my wife said she would not eat it, the server said tat is how they make them here. My wife showed her the picture on the menu and the server said, yes, they do not make them that way here. Hmm. So, my wife ordered the Classic Cheeseburger ($13.49). When it came it looked better than the previously ordered item though it did not have the lettuce or tomato on it even though the menu says it comes with those. It had one slice of a pickle that came from the end of the pickle (about 1/2" diameter). My wife had a terrible day at Applebee's this day and does not want to return though we do have a few gift cards so we may try another Applebee's or request Steve upon our return. We left Applebee's and went around thew corner to Whataburger where she got a double cheeseburger that came with 5 slices of tomatoes, 5 pickles, grilled onions, and lots of lettuce, for two-thirds of the cost. Our experience in the two trips seemed to partially be impacted by the server you get. Some of it can also be how the actual meal delivered to the table differs from what is sown on the menu.  We had one pretty good experience and a second not very good experience. read more

Arrived at 7:43pm. Ordered appetizer, drinks and entrees. Appetizers did not arrive until 8:30pm. I ordered the new wonton burger tacos just for them to arrive bare. I asked about the sauce and was told the restaurant has been out of sauce for about a week. I was NOT told this prior to ordering or even when I ordered. I waited almost an hour just to give them back. Another party who came after us received their entrees before we received appetizers. My food came out but was missing the Parmesan. I'm not sure why they thought i wanted a dry ass steak with some plain shrimp. The whole evening was just terrible. Thanks to a very nice CAUCASIAN man who paid for our party. He was upset with us even though he was at another table. After our food arrived the manager or server NEVER came to ask how our food was or if we needed refills... we came to the conclusion why we were treated this way. Racism STILL EXIST. read more

The order was incomplete, missing the desert. Everytime you do the pickup from here you have to go in and remind them. Caesar salad dressing was sour almost made me throw up. chicken cheddar sandwich was good. read more

Service was not good for us. We sat down and were ignored for 17 minutes while a table of 4 and another of 6 were seated after us and were waited on very fast. Good for them. Told host and soon had the waitress that was apologizing to all her tables for 1 reason or another. Ugh. Got our food and my mashed potatoes were cold. Could be a really poor waitress. The service was quick, the food wasn't bad. Pretty typical Applebee's. It's convenient for me and there are options on the menu that stay within my diet. The food has been hit-or-miss at this location where it comes out tasting like it's a frozen TV dinner. read more

We've been there twice in the past few weeks and won't go back. The first time I ordered the southwest chicken bowl and it was so spicy it was inedible. Last night we got there around 6:45 and there weren't many people there. Nobody was at the reception desk but there were workers standing around in the back visiting and looking at us. One finally, slowly walked up and seated us. Our waitress may have been new. We understand this could cause some issues but she should have had someone oversee her, if that was the case. Very, very slow service, ordered an appetizer and it arrived with no silverware or small plates. Ordered small riblet platter and asked for a salad instead of fries. I said I'd pay an up charge, if needed. I got my salad, and the LARGE riblet platter, WITH fries, but no cole slaw. The ribs had Buffalo sauce on them, which I did not order and can't eat so I sent them back. When we finally got our bill I saw that I was charged for the large riblet platter AND a side salad. Our waitress was incredibly slow (yes, she was pregnant but it was either exaggerated or she was ready to give birth and shouldn't have been working) and every person who came to our table seemed like they were in a zombie apocalypse. No facial expression, no pleasantries, no care. I don't see this Applebees staying in business much longer if it continues this trend. read more

This is one of the only restaurants in Harrisonvillle. I have tried to come back here a few times a year to give it another try. Each time it has gotten worse. Today the table was sticky, the waitress never checked on us, the food was barely edible. The manager took my card and didn't even bother to ask us about our experience. Maybe when I come back again in six months it will be different. I won't hold my breath. read more

I just got diagnosed with alpha gal syndrome, so I hit them with a high food allergy problem walking in. They were nothing but friendly and helpful, very accommodating with my special needs because there's beef, pork, dairy in everything and I can't have cross contamination. Was checked on frequently to see if I was happy with the accommodations. And yeah, the perfect Margarita is indeed perfect. On top of that, there was a problems at another table no fault of theirs, but they kept calm, friendly and helpful through the whole thing. Amazing team and amazing place. read more

Lemme tell you, right now... that I'm not tired of hanging out at Applebee's every night in Harrisonville, Missouri. It's just time to return home to Burbank, California. I want you to know that I may have lost one friend to cancer, but probably made 50 more nice friends around Missouri (and like 5 at Applebee's). All such nice people too. Lemme finish telling you, the food was only part of Applebee's. The decor, ambiance and staff made the stars higher. Here's how I rated my food & drinks for this week: Pub Diet, Peppercorn steak w/ spinach & farro, 2 Churros Smores, 2 Captain L.I. Iced Tea, 4 Spinach Dip w/nachos & salsa, 4 Pepsi, 5 Lunch Combo: Classic & Signature (tomato soup w/ cheesy penne), 4 Southern Tea, 5 Berry Sangria, 4 Whiskey Brewhouse Chicken with garlic mash potatoes, 5 brownie bite, 5 Red Apple Sangria, 4 Green Goddess Salad (hold the bacon), 3 White Peach Sangria, 5 Cracker Jack Banana Cream Cheese Cake, 5 May we be together again under better circumstances in the future. The waitress Teresa B is rude. She focused on the other tables and not on me and my fiancé. My fiancé asked for a side of Mayo for her sandwich. When Teresa failed to bring it in 10 minutes or more we asked another lady who brought it right out on a plate very quickly and with a smile. We were not offered refills and when Teresa asked if we wanted drinks to go we said yes. She then brought out 2 white child size cups and we had to pour our own. We had noticed Teresa had offered to go drinks to a near by table of 4 men and brought out 4 large blue Pepsi cups with fresh drinks. I don't know if Teresa has a problem with us as a couple since we are interracial being I am white and my fiancé is black. I don't know if we will be going back for lunch. It was a very rude time. read more

y wife and I were served a frozen order of mozzarella sticks for our appetizer. They were promptly replaced with...another order of still frozen in the middle mozzarella sticks. Applebees, the Wal Mart of restaurants, has once again disgusted me with their pathetic attempt at food preparation. Never again! I swear to myself, I will make the extra 20 minute drive to go to 54th Street Grill. If I can't make it there, I'll just go get fast food. Even McDonald's is preferable to this poor excuse for a restaurant. Burnt dried out jerky-like baby back ribs, gristle-steak that you can't even cut, cold french fries, luke warm beer and crappy service. The waitress actually delivered our orders with a mouth so full of food she couldn't answer my question about a missing item for a good 20 seconds while she chewed and swallowed. I have to wonder, did that food come from one of our plates? I repeat, Never Again! read more

Asked waitress if rib-eyes would really be served like the one in picture. She quickly said oh yes! Mine was gray and less than appealing. Absolutely phenomenal. I came here because there really wasn't anywhere else to eat at the time of night that it was. I ordered a Thai Shrimp Salad, that was only 410 calories but managed to carry 25g of protein. The salad was absolutely phenomenal, and I will definitely be getting it again. The dressing was perfect - Chili Lime Vinaigrette. The shrimp was grilled perfectly. The salad contained the perfect amounts of lettuce to cabbage. There is nothing bad I can say about this salad. To drink, I got a water, as usual. I am rather picky about water, and prefer to only drink Voss or Icelandic, Fiji on some occasions. But the water here was exceptional and tasted as though it was similar to one of those brands. I would compare the quality of the water to Smart Water. If you are picky on water, there is no need to worry here! read more

We had a bad experience here. When we arrived we were told it would be a 20 minute wait, even though half the tables in the restaurant were empty. When we were seated there was a touch screen device on the table. It had games and the ability to order on it, but no one told us if that was how we ordered. We waited and listened as 2 tables around us complained about their service and incorrect food. After about 10 minutes we pushed the call server button on the touch screen. We ordered simple items, and finally received our food after a 30 minute wait. One of the kitchen staff delivered our food, and hurried off before we could ask for silverware. We tried to get our servers attention, but had to use the touch screen again, just to get silverware. The food was decent, but we again had a long wait for our check. Eventually the host brought us our check and told us our server would be with us shortly. A simple meal took more than 90 minutes. Ditch the touch screen devices and provide prompt courteous service. read more

Don't get the pasta dishes, extremely disappointed, service was poor, food came late, waited very long

Let me first start by saying that I'm kind of a food snob - I'm from Miami, Florida and used to eat a lot at high-end restaurants and am pretty picky. Since moving to Harrisonville, MO, I have to say that selections have become...limited. I am a home wife and massive homebody, when I'm not cooking I like to get food fast and with as little human interaction as possible. I hate standing around in line chit-chatting. I just want to get my food and not talk to anyone. Unfortunately, there are no "mid-scale" fast food restaurants in Harrisonville, like Chipotle or Panera Bread or Chick-Fil-A, so we are pretty much stuck with either full-blown fast food (yuck) or walk-in restaurants. There are a couple good restaurants in Harrisonville, but we are mostly stuck with reallllllyyy slow or flat-out awful customer service. I have dealt with some of the nastiest customer service people restaurants in Harrisonville than I ever did in Florida, strangely enough. I have never been a huge fan of Applebee's until living here. I mean, it's not gourmet food obviously....but I'll tell you one thing, if you're a homebody, don't feel like cooking and want food a step up from fast food that is easy to get and cheap then this is for you. Curbside is a blessing. I order it online and pay with my card online and include the tip. then when I pick up my meal in my car I can be dressed like a slob and just kind of stick my hand out like the cryptkeeper and snatch my food without talking to anyone. It's really a dream. Nothing else in Harrisonville like it. And I think the lunch combo is a steal....for $10 you can get two really generous portions of food that I split up into two meals. The customer service is also way better than almost anywhere else in Harrisonville, surprisingly enough. I'm used to being treated like crap when the restaurant makes a mistake. The other day Applebee's forgot my dressing and when I drove back to get it (it wasn't a big deal) instead of screaming at me like I'm used to in Harrisonville, the manager actually came out, apologized, and gave me a gift certificate! Color me surprised... Anyway, if you're a homebody like me looking for cheap, convenient food a step-up from fast food where you barely have to interact with humans and live in the area, check out Applebee's. Their curbside is pretty sweet and life-changing. I think the bad reviews on here are a little unfair so I want to bump it up! read more

Went here with the fam on a Sunday, around 3 pm. Stood at front waiting to be seated for over 2 minutes. No one acknowledged us at all. Then waiter finally asks if we've been helped and seats us. Should have been first clue. Order green bean app, came out with 9 beans/pieces(not full beans) on the plate. That's some gold beans at $0.50 piece. Told them and waiter agreed it was sun par...so why did he deliver it that way? My parents had ordered same app and it's brought out a few minutes later the same way. My dad says to keep their beans. Waiter apologizes and skunks away. Food comes and it's ok. My food was cold and soggy telling me that it sat while other portions of order were prepped. Manager comes over and asks how things are after being promoted by her staff. This annoys me...you know the issue yet come over and ask like you don't know. I tell her, she says, "I'm sorry." that's it. Not worth the trip over, she wasted time and air. Get the bill, tell them to take my parents bean app off bc it was sent back. The waiter brings final bill and says, "hopefully the mishaps from the kitchen don't affect my tip." no...but that comment just did. Next time we will just go to Hardees :-\ read more
