We are in Warrensburg, MO for a wedding so we decided to explore downtown in search of a place to eat and came upon Fitter's Pub. Downstairs was pretty busy with locals on a Friday night so we opted to go upstairs. They have indoor and outdoor seating and 2 pool tables. So, of course, we played a few rounds of pool, which was fun. The bone-in wings were a tad dry but the mango habanero sauce made up for it. The more you ate, you could really feel the spice. Really good with the ranch! The potato skins were bigger than I expected. Cheesy. Great dipped in ranch. They did provide sour cream as well. The Montana burger and the wrap were yummy. Every small town has its place and I think this is Warrensburg's. Take an old hollowed out building, refit it with a huge bar, local sports memorabilia, a ton of tvs and a menu full of service industry classics and you have a place. I liked the buffalo chicken pizza. read more

While leaving my daughter at UCM we wrapped up move in with a trip to a local spot. I found Fitters. Excellent. This UCM fave is an easy walk from campus. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server was super friendly and checked in often. We started with the onion rings and you should too. I'm not sure what is better the onion rings or the homemade ranch they are served with. Just get them. For dinner we ordered the Leo's special. Pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms. Oh ya. Really good! Thin crust, great sauce and plenty of toppings! Fitters is a restaurant/bar that we like to go to for their pizza. We have always enjoyed their pizza until this time. Normally, we understand that errors might happen if the place is really busy, but this was a slow, very cold Tuesday night. My wife ordered green peppers, but was given green olives instead. I ordered black olives and I received black and green olives. We had sausage on the whole pizza, but evidently sausage is in short supply as there was hardly any on there. To the waitresses credit, she did replace our pizza and the toppings were correct, but again very little sausage. We have never been disappointed before, I guess there is a first time for everything. On the plus side, our onion ring appetizer was very good. The burgers at the table next to ours left us wishing we had ordered a burger instead. Maybe next time. read more

Being a graduate from UCM Fitters was a go to spot for several years while I was there. Always a good mix of food drink and good bartenders. I was in the burg for a graduation and had a couple hours to kill so I stopped in Fitters for old times sake. They expanded and added a patio since 2007 but the service and food were still exceptional. I'd recommend the smoked chicken wings! read more

Kind of a nightmare visit to Fitters Pub. We ended up here because our other options, for one reason or another, weren't available. We came in around 5:15 on a Monday night, and felt that, because we enjoyed the Sedalia Fitters, this would be fine. We ordered two steaks, one medium, one well done. And we waited. And we waited. And we waited. For perspective, the table next to us came in AFTER we came in, had their food ordered, delivered, consumed, their check paid, and had been gone for a good 10-15 minutes before our waitress even showed the slightest concern about how long we were waiting. For more perspective, there were 4 occupied tables in the entire restaurant, and no more than a handful of people at the bar. There were waitresses standing around. So from our point of view, there was zero reason the wait should have been this long. Upon asking the waitress about what the wait was, her response began my aggravation: "It's cooking." Well, yes. I hope after 30 minutes of waiting in a mostly empty restaurant that our food is cooking. Thanks for that. Then, we got the "it's got 3-5 more minutes". Then, after 10 minutes, "They are plating it now". Another 5-10 more minutes, and finally, it all came boiling over for me. I admit, I got a little testy with the waitress, and finally the manager came over. He explained that they have "hand-cut steaks" and the steaks are 3 inches thick and that's what took a while. And look, I understand. I understand mistakes happen. No restaurant offers 3-inch steaks, mostly because by that point, they are flavorless. Any seasoning/marinade you throw on them is effective worthless. We had two little kids in tow (again, this was not our first choice of eating options), and our 2-year-old was at her wits end (in fairness, we all were). So one separate waiter offered to bring out the macaroni and cheese we ordered, so she could start eating. And frankly, he's the reason this turned to a 2-star and not a 1-star. For clarity sake: I apologized and still do to both the manager and the waitress. It wasn't their fault the kitchen cut 2 steaks that were 3 inches thick. I acted like a bit of a jerk in that moment, and I'll own it. The manager had very much an "I don't care" attitude about him for the issue. Again, when he explained that the steaks were hand-cut, there was no, "They didn't cut them properly." It was mostly just a "look, you don't understand what these steaks are" attitude and it showed when he took a whole 3 bucks off the meal. Thanks dude! (For a restaurant that doesn't include a drink with a kids meal, or so we were told, I'm not surprised). Perhaps we caught them on a bad night and in a bad moment. But I believe it's how you respond in those moments that matters deeply. And frankly, I don't think they did a very good job. read more

I've been to this restaurant twice now, & the service nor food have wavered! Each experience I was acknowledged immediately & ask my preference of a booth or table. Our server did not miss a beat ! She made awesome recommendations, & ensured we were happy all throughout our meal. The prices are your typical expectancy for a bar/restaurant. The main focal point of the dining space is the large rounded bar that has multiple mounted flat screens playing sports. It really draws you in! I came to this Pub as a work function some time ago and despite a little noise we were still treated very well. Food came out quickly even though we had some late arrivals and service was excellent. Food was delicious, everything was cooked right for each of us there. Plenty of TV's so at any angle no one feels left out to what is being played. We were in town vis our daughter and wanted to try some local pizza. We decided on Fitter's. Got seated right away and that was the best thing about our visit. Plenty of waitresses working yet none would acknowledge us as they walked repeatedly by us. After 15 minutes of being ignored we finally got one to look at us so asked for our waitress. Still no acknowledgement from anyone. We finally left after more than 20 minutes of no one seeming to want to help us. Fritters is a decent little establishment that looks like it could be a good time during the weekend, but since I am in my mid 30's with kids I will leave the bar scene to the younger crowd. My review is on the food, we came to fritters for lunch one day based on the yelp reviews. The food was average pub food nothing to exciting but it came out hot and it was edible. My husband enjoyed his burger more than I enjoyed my wrap and the kids said theres was ok. Service was friendly and fast so thats why I am giving them an overall 4 star rating. I am not itching to rush back but I am also not avoiding them, we would return if we was down that way and looking for somewhere to grab a quick lunch. read more

I have been to fitters several times before and it has never been any thing special. The only good thing about the place is that they have the cheapest drinks in town. However my last visit there was completely unacceptable. The hostess seated us and that was last time the staff acknowledged us. We sat there for 20 minutes waiting as waitress after waitress walked by us, made eye contact with us, and then continued to not serve us. They kept serving all the other tables around while the wait staff was intentionally ignoring our table. Go elsewhere. read more

Whether you are looking to have some fun or have some good food, Fitter's Pub is my number one recommendation in Warrensburg. They have a full bar downstairs and two additional bars upstairs. Every night you can find people eating dinner (some families and some friends), some grabbing a drink while catching up with friends, and some playing pool. Personal favorite is the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. I have tried recreating the buffalo sauce on this pizza, but I can never figure it out. I often order enough so that I have leftovers. Other favorites include the BBQ Pork Pizza, Southwest Chicken Wrap, Corn Nuggets, and Pickle Chips (fried pickle slices). They have some of the best bartenders here. One of my families favorite restaurants! We have been going to them for several years and have never had a bad experience. The employees always go above and beyond, it is always clean and the food is always good. Their new rice bowls are awesome, but they have some of the best burgers and sandwiches in town. This is a great spot on Pine street to get away from the college bars but still have a fun atmosphere. Fitter's Pub has a great buffalo chicken pizza. It is thin crust and has some good tang to it and just enough spice. There is a fair beer selection and there are good specials throughout the week. The restaurant has plenty of seating at booths and table. It is a great place to gather when you go with large groups. read more
