Here after not being in town since 2016. The place is better than I remember it! Chill vibes. Cold beers. Fantastic service from bar staff. Even had piping hot fries towards kitchen closing time that hit the spot! Thank you for being awesome! Clean enough bathrooms... I really appreciate them taking care of me. I even forgot my check card and was able to retrieve it a day later. Super nice bartenders for my visit. If I didn't live in Oklahoma City I would visit more often. Great pre-state fair divey sports bar checkin. Good burgers, hand cut fries and a diverse bar menu. Check it out.

We got there around 9:45 and there was a security guard standing outside talking to a guy on a bike who was drinking a tall boy from a paper bag. Not sure about the atmosphere that they're advertising. We thought about it seriously for a few minutes and decided to give it a try anyway. We had to show our IDs at the door, which is fine and responsible. However, we also had to empty our pockets, get wanded with a hand-held metal detector AND I had my purse searched. Not a welcoming place. Still. We kept on trying! We got drinks, which were tasty and reasonably priced. The place is full of smoke and reeks of cigarettes. Not my style, but, it's a bar, so I can forgive. There was a sign on the wall advertising new kitchen hours for the summer: 8PM was the closing time, so we had already missed it. But there was another sign saying the kitchen closed at 7, so we asked. The barkeep said the kitchen closes at 6? Things aren't straight. They had a couple pool tables, an electronic dart board, and a small dance floor with black lights on. ... Not the chill hangout we were hoping for. It's not a sports bar. There were a number of TVs, all of which displayed a generic DishTV logo. No sports showing anywhere on a Saturday night. No food. Uncomfortable atmosphere. We drank one drink and left.

This time, at least, the service was impeccable and the hamburger was so delicious it hit the spot. I had been in the mood for a slightly charred burger and, in particular, from a non-chain restaurant in some smaller town or area. So, I suggested that we go to Warrensburg and visit that restaurant we ate at many moons ago. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived, so about 5 PM on a Wednesday, and not many people. The only aspect (and this is not the restaurant's issue) that seemed sad was that I mistook a homeless person in the bathroom for an inebriated person from their bar. I later learned that, sadly, Warrensburg receives a small population of these people from Kansas City, which buses them here. Anyhow, that is a side story. My husband ordered the Warrensburger (cute name, btw) and I ordered a Mushroom with Monterey Jack. Both burgers were charred to perfection. He ordered fries, and I ordered a baked mashed potato casserole (I get tired of fries) and unfortunately it wasn't warmed all the way, but it also had way too much black pepper, which I can't have. The waitress wasn't only accommodating and understanding, but made it a point to apologize, and shared apologies from the cook. I told her that there wasn't any need, and that she was very kind. She stepped it up and graced me with a fully loaded baked potato--no issues. Overall, the service, food, and everything here was fantastic and I don't suspect I will wait another twenty years again to visit.
