The server wasn't great, but the place was relatively calm so it was easy to talk and enjoy catching up. The food was good. First time In Sedalia, Mo. Food was very good! I had boneless chicken wings and shrimp fried that was so good. Our service was excellent with a short wait time while the staff was courteous and helpful, checking on everyone. Will go back while we are here. Bad experience. Theresa our server was not very friendly. Placed our order and about 45 minutes later we received our food. When arrived much of the food was cold. When we complained Theresa again very agitated when we asked for the manager. Our intention was to pay but not full price. However the manager comped the food. This was not an issue for the cooks but an issue that our server or anyone else that never brought out our food. It wasn't until we were leaving did we see that our server was also tending the bar. I love applebees food. But dont go around 10pm on the weekend. Yes, they close at 11pm, but this store always gets mad when you come in before they close. We got there and and all the chairs were already put on tables and cleaned up. This happened the last time we were here and I said I would never come back. Against my better judgement, we tried again today. Over 30 minute wait to be seated. I get it if there weren't tables available but the reality is that there were MANY tables available. They were not seating people because "their kitchen was backed up." Get people sat down, get them their drinks. Be customer service oriented! Several families left after sitting or standing in the entrance for no reason. Lots of revenue lost. The atmosphere was nice, very clean, warm lighting, and they played some great music. The meal however, not so great. I ordered the spinach cavatapi which was delivered to me lukewarm at best. I asked for a reheat, and it turned into del scorcho on the roof of my mouth. The chicken was nasty grisly and very rubbery. It tasted ok, but not great for a $29 meal for 2. Adding a house salad for $3.79 is kinda pricy for what you get, but it was fresh and tasted good. Management and staff were excellent. read more

Since I've moved to sedalia, there are a few restaurants I frequent. Applebees was among that list, but honestly it is completely terrible ever since management changed. The new store manager is a pompous man that acts better than every one of his employees(yes, we see the way you talk down to all of them, unless they're that cute little blonde) and that new female manager, not sure her name but she has short hair and her keys jingle on her belt obnoxiously, is the worst. Since they have started working there the food is always cold which sometimes was a problem before but seriously, last 10+ meals I've had there weren't even warm. He and she refuse to discount though. I'll pay for the rest but come on, it was sent back cold, came out cold, and came out dry from the 3 times it was microwaved... and you're still going to make me pay for it? This new management staff is $#!T. Not to mention I had to ask my waitress multiple times to see them and she told me they're super busy and they'll be right over. When he got there however, I recognized him as the man sitting at a table on the other side of the restaurant with his friends... you'd be better off firing those 2 and hiring a new one then promoting Kimmy, being taught to manage by Jenny has to count for something! And she always makes sure we have a good time here. Furthermore, the staff seem miserable. Your morale has never been lower. Was just passing through and saw a familiar restaurant to stop at. It's very clean and like all the usual Applebee's they have local pictures and decorations from the area. Service was amazing. The food came out almost as soon as it was ordered. The waitress Bailee was so very down to earth and nice. She was on everything. Never had to ask for anything. I've been to Applebees more times than I can count. I used to love the 2 for $20 menu because it's a cheap way for couples to eat there on date nights. However, I quit going because the selection is not as good as it once was. Or maybe I'm just burnt out on everything on their menu. Otherwise the food and service are great. read more

They did discount my food and management and the hostess were very nice. I was just disappointed with the service and quality. My husband wanted to have dinner at Applebee's on the way down to the lake. I'd read several bad reviews of this location so I was reluctant but I did see that they just recently got a new manager so I agreed. Besides, I do love Applebee's Perfect Margarita...a couple of those and I don't care about the food! Luckily, I was pleasantly surprised! The waiter was attentive and polite. They have several new appetizers so we tried the Beer Cheese Dip with Pretzels. It was very good and the Sriracha Shrimp was awesome! He had a steak with shrimp which he said was cooked very perfectly. I had a chicken cheese penne pasta...it was a bit bland but it is a chain restaurant so that's fine. DEFINITELY improved...last time we were here ( 4-5 months ago) we were ready to never come back...salad had bout two leaves of lettuce and my husband's applesauce came in a Mott's apple sauce pack that kids suck on lol But this time was night and day difference!! The worst Apple Bee's I've ever been to! The manager was rude, it took apart ten minutes for someone to just get our drinks and overall just wasn't a welcoming atmosphere! Will not be coming back. It's true that this place has been through tough times. At one point there was a string of inept managers. Then a barge crashed into it ant it burned down. But it rose from the ashes. Now it is literally an Applebee's. The same as the other Applebee's. I had some half priced boneless wings and they were luscious. read more
