Date night - Stop #1…read more Trying something new! Jazz Bar The Green Lady Lounge is an exclusively Jazz lounge featuring Kansas City Jazz musicians A little hole-in-the-wall with a cool, throwback vibe. Think speakeasy! The jazz bands were great--lively but not too loud--and we'll definitely be back. It's a perfect spot to hang out before or after dinner since they don't serve food. Even with a full house, our server checked in on us often. This two-level jazz club near downtown Kansas City was a fun find for us. We did not make it to the downstairs bar. We will save that for next time! The signage can be a little tricky to spot if you're not familiar with the area. Hummus & crackers for a snack My drinks: Mocktail - ORANGE-CRANBERRY MARTINI - Orange juice, cranberry juice, lime juice, simple syrup, grenadine, orange bitters, orange peel then I had the ETHAN ORANGE - Cold brew coffee, cinnamon simple, cream or oat milk, black walnut bitters, orange peel. Jons drinks: MANHATTAN - Rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, angostura bitters, cherry then he had a KANSAS CITY COFFEE - Rye whiskey, whiskey cream, cold brew coffee, simple syrup Total bill was only $70 We will be back! 1809 Grand Blvd, Kansas City, MO. #datenight #makingmemories #nightout #supportlocal #jazzmusic

They're known for:…read more Wings. Self-serve beer taps. Lots and lots and lots of screens for sportsball. What else would you need to know? Take the KC Streetcar if urban parking is not your thing. The nearest streetcar stop is the Crossroads, so it's only a couple of blocks to walk, eezy peezy. Service is friendly and timely, you can cheer for the locals or whatever else might be on a screen at that time, and enjoy one of dozens of self-service taps. Get a beer card from the bar or your server, grab a glass from the rack to the left of the taps, put your card on the reader, pull the tap, and ZAM! Bob's your uncle. Pull for just a pint or sample up & down the line and just know you're paying by the ounce. What's not to like? Taps on Main has a strong wing game and they're serious about keeping it that way. There are almost a dozen sauces or rubs that you can get, and order your wings by 10 or 20. I'm one for sweet heat, so the Korean Gochujang is my target. Wings are sauced nicely, not smothered, and a basket of 10 wings is gracious plenty for a 'serving'. Pick a dipper if you need one, or add a buck for more than one, but the wings are very well executed and arguably should be talked about more in KC wing convos. Great wings, great beer selection, and great location. Winning all the way around.

Really good sports bar! We were in town for the Argentina vs Algeria World Cup game and wanted…read moresomewhere to watch the other games the night before so we headed to old city! There was a concert of some type happening on top of the World Cup madness and it was absolute pandemonium!! It was amazing! So naturally, after partying and screaming through games, at the end of the night we wanted grub and this was one of the few still serving food. Service wasn't bad at all despite the crowded madness. We walked in and found a table ourselves as the host was MIA and then asked someone to clean it for us. Eventually, Casey W. made his way to our table to take our orders. At first he said kitchen was closing and that our food would take about 45 mins but we didn't care and said we were fine with the wait. After all, it was 11:30 at night and the place was packed! Drinks: I was the only one that had a cocktail, my boys had beers. I had the "blue balls" which was pretty good! Food: we had the mango habanero and Wilson's sauce wings with fries and 12 inch pizza because he said they were out of the bigger one. Wings and fries came out first and were so hot and fresh. I loved the mango habanero with pieces of jalapeño on it. The Wilson's sauce wasn't bad either. The ranch though?!? Seriously, KC might have the best ranch I ever had! The pizza came out not too long after and it was SO good! It was thin crust, very fresh, with chicken, mushroom, and jalapeños. It had the perfect amount of sauce and the flavor was just soo good! Didn't even get a pic because it got attacked soon as it hit the table!

I'm writing to share my experience at your downtown Kansas City location yesterday. Unfortunately,…read morethe customer service I received from one of the waitresses was very disappointing. The waitress was a thin, young woman wearing a white top. I simply asked her whether the chicken came with a marinated sauce or whether the sauce for the bone-in wings came on the side. Instead of answering my question politely, she made faces, seemed irritated, and repeatedly said "what?" as though my question was unreasonable or difficult to understand. I understand that restaurants can be busy, but customers should still be treated with basic respect and courtesy. I was not rude to her in any way, and I was simply asking about the food before ordering. Her attitude made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.

It was a first visit in the area and we decided to walk from the hotel to the micro breweries that were close (there's a dozen or so within 1 mile) YEAH!! This one though was definitely one we will visit again. We did a flight and some additional samples. I'm usually a Hazy IPA - which was excellent - but every beer there was sooo good! I could have had a pint of any of them and been amazed. Cheers Mark and Team! We will be back!!

Border Brewing used to be one of my favorite places to meet friends and unwind after work. It…read morerelaxed atmosphere that made it easy to recommend. Unfortunately, that has changed. During my recent visits, I repeatedly observed behavior from one of the bartenders that made the environment feel uncomfortable and unprofessional. This man has frequently crossed personal boundaries and generally came across as someone who was more interested in making female patrons uncomfortable than providing good service. Instead of feeling like a place where everyone could relax, the atmosphere felt like a boys' club where inappropriate behavior was tolerated. The biggest disappointment wasn't just the employee's conduct--it was the lack of action or acknowledgement by management that concerns are taken seriously. Instead of addressing complaints, they move to suppress reviews. When an establishment allows and enables behavior that makes customers feel uncomfortable or unsafe, it reflects on the business as a whole. I used to recommend Border Brewing without hesitation, but I can't anymore. There are plenty of breweries in Kansas City where everyone can enjoy themselves without worrying about being subjected to inappropriate comments or an unwelcoming atmosphere.

Maybe it's not quite like being in The Cauldron, but hey, the climate is better controlled and the concessions prices are probably better. Call that a draw. Your experience is probably going to vary tremendously depending on if there is a live game happening. If it's just a random afternoon/evening and there isn't any Sporting or Current action happening, then the place is spacious and service is better. If it's during game time....yeah, make your way to the bar for service. That is not a knock on No Other Pub, but just know that this is a spot for the soccer fans of KC to congregate, especially if the teams are on the road. The food is just fine and nothing too special. Chances are good that you're there as part of something soccer-esque, just like when fans of the world descended upon Kansas City during the World Cup.
