Husband and I stopped in late afternoon for a a beer and a bite. We enjoyed the $1 draft beer and had a sampler appetizer that was great. The won ton tacos were fantastic! When we walked in it smelled musty. The waitress disappeared for long periods of time. The chips where stale. The margarita was watered down. There was food and trash everywhere. The draft beer was good and the quesadillas where decent. They where out of sour cream but luckily had ranch. I would definitely steer clear of this location. Hello , We visited this store today 7/20/2019, around, 3:30pm. The young Lady at the front counter entrance was not at the station but was very polite sitting us down in our seats, for 2. The Lady politely said, she was not our server, but she will take our drink order. This is where the service get unprofessional. The young Lady walk over with a young man, seems to me she were training. By, her body language and eyes contact she were judging. So, I knew this was going to be a bad experience, you don't know who you may be serving. So, my wife gave our order, and So, the WAITRESS was not listerning. Very well, So, after she taken OUR ORDER, she walked back over to her station and started to discuss how rude, We were with to her male trainee and other WAITRESS. We sit there read her lips and listen to her, discuss it. So, We received our order, under cook shrimps, I told her about it and did not get another order, and my beef riblets was under cook on my second refill. So. It's seems like she were trying to not to come over and communicate. So, young guy was Okay,but every WAITRESS in there was hanging around the back some folks waited a long time, It looks like they were picking people who were going to tip. Even the other WAITRESS seem rude. So, I believe they ALL need to be trained over again, even the manager's. They supposed to enjoy there JOB'S. I were RAISED, by Parents, to Do your BEST on any JOB. Why do we keep going back? It's obvious that the greeter and at least 2 other employees at this Applebee's in Conroe are drug addicts. Went there last night, 11/5/17. It was not busy but yet we waited nearly 30 minutes for our basic salads. I had to ask the waitress if she forgot about them. Then another 30 minutes for our food. So slow. The table next to us had to ask 3 different wait staff for silverware AFTER their food was already there. When the host was asked for their silverware, he proceeded to walk past them and clean a table, then brought more customers in to be seated before he even handed them their silverware! At least the food is good but management needs to observe these employees. Terrible Terrible service. read more

Where do we begin...been to applebees all over the country. They are somewhat consistent but vary in service quality based on workers. On this trip we ordered the salmon. This is a gamble, since we never know what size filet we'll get. What every brought us looked like about a third of the size advertised in the menu. I bright this to their attention and was told they are all "weighed" 7oz filets...unless my eyes are paying tricks on me, I've seen the filets vary greatly in size and width, so I'm not buying it. The manager, Carla Castro came to address the small salmon filet issue, agreed that the size on the menu is "embellished" to get us to order it and doesn't represent the actual filet they have, but offered absolutely no remedy. I threatened to write an honest review and she was offended instead of trying to do her job as a manager to please the customer. I want asking for much, just felt it was unfair to pay full price for a falsely advertised dish. She did however remind me that "all restaurants embellish the images of their food" and that I shouldn't expect what's in the menu. Hmm...I'm a business owner, and would quickly be out of business if my product didn't represent what I advertise. I think it's time for a change. read more

Not a bad place overall, but it is what it is. The drinks aren't great and the menu is rather lacking, but the service is good and it's cheap. I'm not sure what their version of beer cheese is though. Some kind of funky white cheese that doesn't taste anything like beer cheese. But the pretzels it comes with are really good. read more

This is the first Applebee's we've been to in Texas. Used to go all the time in California and loved it. Sad to say this one just wasn't the same. Everything was off. First, the restaurant had the feel and look of a Luby's or IHOP. The ones in California were more inviting and pub like. Second, we were greeted and seated well enough but after sitting there for ten minutes and no sign of life, I finally asked a passing waitress if someone was assigned to our section. Suddenly there was a ton of commotion and I could hear several staff members exclaiming that we were mad. We weren't and I had visions of cooks spitting in our food. The waiter and the greeter and another waitress immediately surrounded us and offered apologies as I assured them that we weren't mad. Service after that was first class. Unfortunately, the food was not. The menu just didn't seem to have the variety I remembered and once we were served the food was bland and minimal. Then the setting sun was blaring through the window straight into my eyes. I asked the waiter about maybe lowering the shades and he said the windows didn't have any. The greeter, which by this time I realize is one of the managers, promised to do something about it but it never happened. I still tipped appropriately because I felt they did what they could within their control but I won't be going back. Wish they had more locations in our area. read more

If I could give this place zero stars or negative stars i would. The service is extremely slow from the time we walked in. We walked in waited a good 10 minutes for a host to sit us. Servers just ignored us. A lot of the tables were messy as we walked in. We ordered drinks, appetizers and the 25 cent wing special. The appetizers came 30 minutes after we ordered, then the wings came right after. The chips weren't fresh. The wings were ice cold, and didn't get the flavors. There was two tables by us that came in after we did and they got their orders way before we got our food. i will never got back regardless of any specials. Every time that I've gone to Applebees I always had AWFUL service and never had a correct order or hot food. Something is always messed up. First off, let me apologize for the many years I have not posted to sites like this, as I have taken my share and left nothing in return. I plan to review from here on out. It was a cold Monday evening, the biting wind rushing us inside the warm restaurant. As planned, the place was very slow, with the usual older couple seated here and there, and a few tables of younger people there for the drinks. I brought my wife and two girls with my oldest's boyfriend a welcome guest to a birthday dinner. Mike, who doubled as host and waiter, seated us promptly after suggesting a larger booth to accommodate us. He then was quick to respond to a polite conversation as an icebreaker ( a tip to those who seem to always have negative experiences; try to actually "meet" your server. However passe' it may seem, you might be surprised at the results.) After a brief conversation, he took our drink orders and suggested appetizers. We had mozzarella sticks, with macaroni/bacon for the kiddos. Both were very tasty and on par with the price point and type of place. For the main course, we had (between us) the unlimited riblets/chicken strips/shrimp combo, 6oz. sirloin, and a full rack of ribs. Note* Applebee's cooks the meat to temperature, not color, so if you insist on eating shoe leather and order the meat well done, you will find it likely overdone. However, if you like to taste your food, medium rare is always a safe bet- however, I digress, as to each his or her own. The meat was cooked very well, and tender. Mike offered a selection of sauces(A1 or Heinz, but hey- it's Applebee's). The combo was good, being chicken strips are a no brainer, and the ribs covered in a tasty sauce that forgives much. The service was outstanding, and coffee (pass on this) and dessert (must have a triple chocolate meltdown) was very good. The evening ended well. This being said, we went in on a Monday evening(not the best time to review any restaurant) and with children in tow (much patience required) that I had my doubts after reading so many negative reviews from so many people, I was dubious. I was pleasantly surprised. However, in my 50 years (yikes) I have eaten at a more than a few places, with say...five percent so bad as to garner a 2-star review(taking into consideration the weight of the score, etc. etc. ). Know the rules, and notch your expectations down or up according to the place, and ALWAYS be as polite to the staff as you would your friends. Decided to sit in at a restaurant, it's been awhile ya know. Anyways Applebee's was chosen and it took all of 10mins to regret it. The food was decent, not as great as it usually is, but still good. However the service was absolutely atrocious. Our server was very absent, even though she was supposed to be training. Drinks were left at the bar long enough to get a frozen margarita turned liquid. Mind ya there were all of 5 tables taken in the whole restaurant and 2 happed to be in her section. We got to watch all the servers sit in front of the kitchen checking their phones shootin the shit. That being said I wonder why we ended up being served by the same guy that was just bussing tables and vacuuming the floor. Mind ya that guy should have been our sever from the beginning. We had a great experience. Jordan was our waiter and he was great. The food was prepared exactly as we wanted and was great.

Reading those totally different reviews I had to try it myself. I haven't been to an Applebee's here in Houston, but know it from Richmond , Virginia. We pretty much liked it there. So give it a try. Have lunch. Friendly greeting when we arrived. No shabby clothes or unfriendly host. Our drink order were taken right after we sat down. Our waiter came , took our orders and just asked us how we want it and which sides. Very friendly and chatty, but not overdoing it. He brought the 12 minute timer a little bit later, but had it set to 8 minutes already. You know you get the meal free if it takes longer than 12 minutes. Our meals came and it tasted nice. My French fries has been crispy on the outside and still a bit of soft inside. Exactly how I like it. The green beans came with shredded bacon and Parmesan. Tasty. But also the Chicken salad was nice. With almonds and it tasted fresh. So no complain about the quality of the food. And as far as I could see other people were satisfied as well. And it smelled good as well when a waiter brought two hot plates to the next table. Our waiter convinced me to have a brownie with ice cream for one dollar. I am glad he did. It was a nice little piece of dessert. After he brought the check he realized that something was wrong on it and took it back to correct it. I did not have that so often. Normally you have to go through everything . We left with a nice tip, because our waiter was great and we really liked it here. May be will try it one day as dinner. read more

My husband and I went here Saturday for a quick lunch. We both ordered Burgers and his was okay but I ordered the Mushroom swiss burger which is a $12.00 Burger on Saturday and the description on the menu and the picture look NOTHING like what I was served. The Menu clearly states piled high with mushrooms and Swiss. The picture shows mushrooms all over the burger under the patty and on top. We both received our plates and to start with there was no more than a handful of fries there were so crispy I thought I may chip a tooth but onto the burgers. His burger was more like the description but just small. Mine on the other hand was 2 pieces of dry bun. No mayo or the sauce that the menu says comes with the burger. The meat was there and cooked appropriately with a thin piece of cheese. When they brought it I asked where the mushrooms were and the waitress said under the cheese. I looked and there were mushrooms. Four mushrooms to be exact. This was most definitely not the burger pictured or anythi8ng worth $12.00. I loaded a picture of this meal as well. read more

It was on par with other Applebee's restaurants which is to say, it was fine. Don't expect anything fantastic. It was adequate.

Applebee's is always fun, and the food is always good here. The bartender always remembers us so it gives it that neighborhood feel. Management seems to be on point with cleanliness but if ur not at the bar servers can be hit or miss but that's to be expected at a chain style restaurant like this. Overall we have a pretty good experience every time we come here. read more

Went to the Conroe location on 1-31-16 with my family and the experience was terrible.. The food took forever to make it to the table. Once we got the food, my Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp was raw, which eating raw chicken could seriously jeopardise my health. My parents' food was way too salty, my wife's salmon was way too small of a portion and overcooked. Overall experience was a disaster, ohhh, when it came time to pay, our waitress was gone with out credit cards for at least 20 minutes. If you find yourself in Conroe, hungry and not familiar with any other restaurants, make sure you steer away from this applebee's. there is a fast food chicken place next door, go there! read more

I had made it a point to not eat at any Applebees after the story broke about a waitress was fired for posting a zero tip by a pastor, who also left a rude comment on the receipt. But seeing thst choices are a bit limited in the way of food after 11pm on a weekday I decided to overlook that story to see if I was correct in shunning this eatery. I'm happy I stopped in. I ordered a 9oz. Texas Sirloin, well done, and is exactly what I got. The steak was fantastic! For a well done steak it wasn't dry at all, which makes me wonder why other restaurants can't accomplish this task? The staff was very polite and accommodating. The only reason I give this visit 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the loud young adults that sat in the booth behind me. But hey, what should you expect around midnight during the summer while sitting in the bar area? Service stunk to be nice. Chips and queso was good. Waiter passed 5 times while both drinks were empty finally had to call him over. Adults food came out 5 minutes before kids food. Adult food was ok, wife's rice was cool, burger was dry and was missing mayo, the only thing I told him I wanted. When daughters pizza came out it was cool and was not good. Like most kids she loves pizza and wouldn't eat it at all. She shared my burger and fries. Waited for a last fill up for 10 minutes. The evening started out on a good note. The hostess was pleasant, the server was super nice, we were immediately seated. However, when a person orders a Caesar Salad they expect it to be made with Romaine Lettuce. Instead I was given a plate of IceBerg Lettuce with grilled chicken, shredded Romano Cheese, and Caesar dressing on top of it. I order salads made with Romain because I cannot eat IceBerg Lettuce. After having a terrible experience at chilis down the road we decided to go to Applebees again we were sat in the bar and after about 8 minutes and watching people walk back and forth waiting on people finally a gentleman by the name of Adam asked if we had been waiting on informed him that no we had not at that time he said he would gladly take care of us he took our drink orders and our food order at the same time. Shortly thereafter he brings our drinks and took to go cups and informed us that they had no clean glasses at this time, Wow 8 minutes and then no cups I was already in a pissy mood and then after about 5 minutes Adam comes back with some phenomenal news informed in this time that what I ordered for dinner they did not have available and I asked for him to give me a couple minutes and I would reach use but the next thing you know never received a menu to look at again and then everyone else's food came and that is win they wanted to know what I wanted to eat. At that time I had been so frustrated I decided that that I would just Pass everyone else really enjoyed their food said it was delicious Adam did show back up to ask how was their food and drop off the ticket left a 20 percent tip and headed out.
