Tuscan garden chicken salad
Drew R.

Came here on our way to kanarraville for our hike. We thought it would be a great location for a light meal before we started our trek. Honestly speaking, all food at every Applebee's taste the same since they are a franchise. What matters and would affect the review would be the service. Our time here wasn't that great. Our waitress went missing for some time, and it took us forever to get our food. People who got seated after us, ordered after us, but they still got their food before us. We just order a couple of salads. Not sure how I feel about coming back, but it's Applebee's.

Classic Cheeseburger

Finishing up dinner with friends in Utah. Admittedly our first stop was Chili's but there was over an hour wait... but Applebee's got us seated right away! Our party enjoyed two beef entrees and one poultry: classic cheeseburger, sirloin steak w/shrimp and fiesta lime chicken. We had a chicken tender appetizer that was made in error, but the staff remade our order and even took the charge off the bill :)

As Huey Lewis said, "I'm happy to be stuck with you." The food was outstanding, the service from Freddie was excellent, and even the kids' meals were healthy, generous, and delicious. This is one of the more upscale dining spots in Springdale, and I'm glad we stumbled into it. The linguini with mussels and the quinoa salad were both plentiful, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The only miss for me was the Old Fashioned--I prefer mine with a large ice cube--but that's a minor complaint in an otherwise fantastic dining experience. Highly recommended. Sometimes the wrong turn leads to the right place.

If not, I go with Oscar's Cafe and Switchback Grille which were other places I visited. The hamburgers here were nothing spectacular and particularly dry. The service was average at best. Everyone here love to say, "will let your server know." My mentor, Andrew Cherng of Panda, famously pointed out that is one way to push away responsibilities and make the customers wait even longer. Funny thing is that it's such a small request that can easily be taken care of immediately. Okay the highlight was the wild game meatloaf which was also the saving grace because I normally don't like meatloaf and this one was really well done. It made up for the dry burger and the average service as well as the so so ambiance, considering everything is quite expensive for a casual dining place.

The hostess seated us promptly (with luggage in tow). The restaurant is pretty spacious, so that worked out just fine. We enjoyed our food (a cobb salad for me and a burger for her). Janessa was our server and she was lovely and attentive. We then made a reservation for a larger group for that Saturday evening and Kyle and Mia helped us out... The reservation needed adjustment last minute due to a change in schedule that day and after multiple phone calls, they were able to accommodate that change. Note: it seems there is not a direct phone number to the restauarant so I had to work with someone in the hotel lobby for this. Interestingly enough, we ended up having dinner here on Friday as well with a large group. Huge thanks to Kyle and staff for working with us that evening... We worked out a large group order to-go but sat down for our drinks. Need to know: Due to Utah Liquor laws, adults who are drinking alcoholic beverages must be seated... that was a new fun fact I learned when making the reservation. On Saturday night, the restaurant had a bit of a condensed menu and they were out of salmon, which was a bit disappointing, but after having 3 meals here, we do recommend the wings, nachos, and burgers. The area in the back of the restaurant with games including ping pong is great for the kids and there is also a grassy area out back too. I know that this restaurant is fairly new and working out the kinks... I look forward to returning in the future as I know it will continue to get better.

I specifically mentioned that we were hoping to watch Supercross, and I was assured that wouldn't be a problem. However, when we arrived at our reserved time, we were told they would "look into" changing the channel because they weren't sure they could access Peacock. We decided to stay, ordered drinks and appetizers, and checked in multiple times with our waiter. Each time, we were told they were still working on it. After waiting for over an hour, we were finally told they couldn't put it on after all. The most frustrating part is that we would have completely understood if they had told us upfront. We could have made other plans and gone somewhere that could accommodate our request. Instead, we spent a significant part of the evening waiting and hoping, which took away from what was supposed to be a special birthday celebration. Afterward, I noticed similar feedback from other guests about difficulties getting channels changed, even when it seemed possible. That was disappointing to see and makes it feel like this may be a recurring issue. The service itself was polite, but better communication and follow-through would have made a big difference in our experience.

We saw bar food and beer, plus the clincher--a kids' menu with chicken tenders. Everybody happy. We were surprised by the ambiance, mainly that Jack's is pretty cozy but feels uncrowded. Sports memorabilia representing teams from across the country festoons the walls with TVs galore. There's a robot patrolling to bus tables... Our server, Amber, greeted us quickly and took good care of us throughout, taking split checks and indecisive kiddos in stride. Drinks came out first. I enjoyed my draft porter and my friend indulged in a can of Melvin 2x4. Pepsi products for the kiddos. Ironically, dads ordered the same meal, and the boys each had chicken fingers. The brisket sandwich featured surprisingly tasty beef, moist and cut perfectly for going on a bun. It's pretty filling. I took about half with me. Beans offered nothing spectacular--somewhat runny, but compelling enough to finish. Fries were fries. Chicken tenders looked standard. The boys rated them second out of three on our trip. 3.5 star food. Nice atmosphere. Good service. Round it up to four Springdale stars.

My husband and I ordered burgers and they were delicious. The day before my husband order the J combo which came with pulled pork and brisket BBQ and I was not a fan. It's not just another spot--it's a true speakeasy-style cocktail lounge with that perfect moody, intimate Prohibition-era vibe. Think dim lighting, plush vintage settees and ornate seating that feels like stepping into a gothic 1800s parlor, gilded mirrors, stone crosses, and an electric yet cozy energy that's ideal for date night, a special occasion, or just unwinding with friends. Spiritual Speakeasy Bar (2026) - All You MUST Know Before You Go (with Reviews) The cocktails here are next-level--award-winning (they've taken Best Bar in Southern Utah multiple times, and it shows). I went with the Smoked Old Fashioned (beautifully balanced, smoky perfection with premium spirits) and the Spicy Dead Lady (a creative, flavorful kick that's become a favorite). They also do standouts like Espresso Martini, Pornstar Martini, Skull Chapel, and Holy Grail, all crafted with top-shelf ingredients including Utah's own High West whiskeys. The bartenders are true mixologists--super knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to chat about the spirits or customize something just for you. Spiritual Speakeasy - St. George, UT | joe coffee It's open daily from 5 PM to 1 AM (or 2 AM some nights), with live DJs on weekends adding to the lively but not overwhelming atmosphere. It's intimate (can feel a bit cozy/crowded when busy), and the music can get loud, but that's part of the electric speakeasy charm. Service is attentive, though it can slow down on peak nights--totally worth it. In a town not exactly known for wild nightlife, this place punches way above its weight. Sophisticated, fun, and unexpectedly upscale. We've already made it our go-to whenever we're in St. George. If you love craft cocktails and a unique vibe, hunt it down--you won't regret it. Highly recommended! (Pro tip: Look for the hidden entrance vibe--they make it feel like a real discovery.)

From the moment we arrived, every dish was exceptional. The salad was fresh and beautifully prepared, the pork belly was absolutely outstanding, and the steak was cooked to perfection with the most incredible seasoning. Every bite was memorable. The biscuit was unreal--warm, comforting, and honestly one of the best I've ever had. What touched me most was the homemade ice cream. One spoonful instantly brought me back to childhood memories of my dad making homemade ice cream for us when we were kids. It was such a special and unexpected gift to relive those moments. But what truly made the evening unforgettable was our server, Parthee. She was absolutely amazing. Her kindness, attentiveness, and genuine warmth made us feel so welcomed and cared for. She didn't just provide excellent service--she made our night. Our family has been through a lot, including the heartbreaking loss of my sister. Father's Day hasn't always been easy for my sweet dad since then. This evening gave us something precious: a new happy memory together. We placed our appetizer and drink orders and later dinner. We simply ordered the trout, crab Mac and cheese and I ordered the duck. The Water Mellon Pork belly came out first. The pork belly was tough and hard not like times past. We really needed a steak knife and 1/2 of the 2 portions we ordered was not edible. The trout and crab mac came out and I waited and waited not 10 min but nearly 30 minutes for the duck. I spoke to our waitress and I think the manager and they kept saying it takes more time to prepare. At about 25 minutes I canceled my duck as my wife and friend were done with their meal. I was given just excuses and no explanation. I suggested that since they KNOW the duck takes longer to prepare they should have started that first. I was told by the two I spoke too that they put in the order and it's started in that order so my duck was last. So the so called Chef's who should know the duck takes longer blew it along with the wait staff. In every restaurant setting I've been in, the chef would to start what takes longer first so the table of two or more would be served at the SAME time. But not here at Wood Ash Rye. As mentioned this was one of at least four other times here. But in our years absence, the familiar faces were gone, the so called Chefs looked like line cooks and the wait staff was clueless on how to make things right. Sad....we won't be back.
