Nice lodge for a weekend getaway at Brianhead. The rooms were more spacious than we thought, I like that it included a microwave and mini fridge (bigger than standard minis) The beds were comfortable and the vibe is quiet and make you want to hygge at 10000 ft elevation. They also have a gym and pool indoor with hot tub outdoors. We liked the location and quiet environment, staff were friendly as well. Currently they're remodeling their flooring at the loft restaurant - pack layers even in the late summer since it's gets cold! Also there is a Brianhead Resort just a few minutes away where they have an annual adventure pass for kids with trampolines that they can strap and do flips, zip lining, outdoors sledding/slides all day! Great summer room rates! Took advantage of the pool and hot tub and it was awesome! I also ate at The Lift restaurant and it was lovely as well. First off I got a message from the property that the restaurant would be closed the morning of my check-in so I was not able to cancel before 24 hours. Then a message 6 minutes before everything closes in town to let me know that everything will be closed. So no food options and we were coming from a national park. They offered a charcuterie buffet that you still had to pay $15 per person for but that was also closed by that time. So here's the kicker, we get there, check-in and ask if we can reduce to 1 night instead of 2. (Their policy states this is allowed as long as I pay for at least the 1st night, taxes & fees) The front desk said she would ask the manager whom said NO because of the 24 hours and would not talk to us over the phone or in person - just relayed through the front desk NO. Not honoring their own cancellation policy. Despite everything, including a stinky bathroom, curtains that don't close, broken shower handle etc. We left within 30 minutes of arrival and drove to St. George for better lodging. Im a seasoned traveler and have never dealt with such stingy horrible customer service; let alone leaving a hotel right after check-in. I've had better experiences at motel 6. Skip this place it is awful and of course over priced. Reported to BBB and will leave a review through every channel to prevent others from staying at this scammy place. Avoid this place and avoid a headache with the unprofessional and uncaring staff. read more

We stayed here before when it was a best western but now it's been rebranded as Bryan Head Lodge. It's a nice hotel to stay in and there was a promotion that offered free ski lift tickets with your stay. We had two rooms for three nights and got four free ski lift tickets! On our last night there was a planned power outage from 11 PM to 3 AM by the local power company. It went by uneventful though no big deal. The hotel did provide extra blankets and a flashlight for each room. The breakfast in the restaurant was very good. And my son got a nice Philly cheesesteak one night for dinner. I think we'll be back. It's a nice place! read more

Stayed for 5 nights, housekeeping never came to pick up the trash or change out the towels/washcloths. The staff sent me a text asking if I wanted housekeeping, since I guess it's the off season, even though it was 4th of July weekend. Responded as yes, never got them. Had to go to the front desk every day for something, even though I paid over $100.00 a night to stay there, in their "off season." No breakfast bar, because of it being their "off season." Half of the hotel is inexcusable for ADA, stairs halfway down the hall. Ice and vending machines out of order. Half of the equipment in the gym broken. Half of the games in the arcade broken. Swimming pool emptied during our stay. Just a truly lovely experience. Guy cleaning downstairs just moving the broom around one handed, not caring if he got anything or not. Guess this is what you expect from a hotel in the "off season." Coming from Las Vegas, where we have the best hotels and staff on earth I guess it's too much to ask for those standards. Yet we stayed at the Hilton right down the road from the Lodge last year, and guess what? Felt like we were in an actual resort. The night staff girl was amazing though. She actually seemed to care, but she could only do so much as she was the only staff member there from 3:00pm-11:00pm. She deserves a raise. read more

The main reason for us to book this hotel was their EV chargers. However, as we found out upon arrival, both EV chargers are currently out of service. So my story is I know I should have read the reviews. They got a 3.2 so that's my fault. I reserved a room family with a sofa bed. I get here I get the king size bed but there's no sofa bed and they claim they're all out of rooms. Now I have a son that is sleeping on a very very uncomfortable roll out. That's supposedly worse than the heidea bed. There's nothing they can do about it. I spoke to a corporate manager that was here. They're having corporate meetings here and she said she was going to help me. She's supposed to be in customer relations and she never even got back with me. So beware people look and read the reviews. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Poor customer service and they lie to you as far as what they have and don't have to get you to come in.. read more

We have stayed at Brian Head Lodge in Utah before and have always really liked this place. The location is great and, in our past experiences, most of the staff have been friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I am leaving a one-star review because of one employee, Kevin. Our interaction with him completely changed what should have been a good stay. He was rude, unhelpful, and seemed completely uninterested in doing his job. It honestly felt like he hated his job, and that attitude came through in how he treated guests. What makes this more frustrating is that the rest of the staff we encountered were great and tried to be helpful. However, Kevin's behavior created such a negative experience that it overshadowed everything else. We have enjoyed this lodge in the past, but management really needs to address situations like this because one employee can ruin an otherwise good experience. read more

The Brian Head Lodge was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Our room was by the elevators so all day and all night and early in the morning we were kept awake and awakened by rolling luggage on the hardwood floors, people passing by our room, talking and yelling, barking dogs, crying babies, luggage racks. My family barely slept. The walls are so thin we could hear the people above our room waking up and going to the bathroom throughout the night. The cleaning staff only services the room upon request, which you have to do every day if you want it. And the front desk clerk asked me, "what do you want them to clean?" Uhhh.. the room?They skipped a day and mostly made the bed and took out the trash. The restaurant is a disaster. Exceptionally poorly run. One day we stood waiting to be seated for breakfast and went unacknowledged for a good 20 to 25 minutes. Every table in the restaurant was dirty and unbussed. After being completely ignored, I finally asked someone if they could seat us and another 10 minutes later they cleaned off a table for us and we could finally sit. Another night for dinner the restaurant was more than half empty and they told us it would be a 15 to 20 minute wait. Over one hour later, with the restaurant still half empty, we were finally seated. Chrystle is a wonderful server and a bright light in the otherwise dismal mess that is the hotel restaurant. There is a sign in the lodge for guest laundry, but there is none. Front desk staff is unfriendly and disinterested. read more

I appreciated the hotel not charging us the amenities fees since they did not have the pool open. The back doors were also not working so we went in through the arcade. I must say my experience with the activities have been immaculate! I booked an experience for Tubing and Snowmobile Tour. We understood that check-in was at 4pm but arrived early and inquired if it was possible to get an early check-in. The front desk said they would let us know if a room was available. Our friends were able to check-in at 1pm so we got excited that we possibly could be next. Each hour we checked we had no luck but that was fine. When it was finally time to check-in at 4pm the room was still not available and they explained our room was in "progress" and had to be inspected for adequacy. I completely understood where they were coming from and let them know that I had an appointment for Tubing and would return soon as it was over. I came back after a fun but physically tiring experience and was excited to lay on a bed for a much needed rest. The rooms appeared to be occupied with the lights on and the guests had their laptop, toothpaste, toothbrush, bags, shoes, and clothes still out. That is not okay! I had to carry my heavy luggage back to the lobby to explain this whole ordeal and the front desk tells me that it would be impossible for them to double book with how their system works. I'm pretty irritated with all of this and I'm at least happy that we were still able to get their last room that was available to make up for this mishap. I am concerned about this whole situation because if we would have left our property in the room there is no telling if it would get stolen. My fiancée and I enjoyed the activities but this stay has left a bitter taste that we will not likely be returning or recommending this particular route to enjoying the experiences Brian Head Resort had to offer. read more

This also caused us to miss our $700 ski lesson which was non refundable. The lodge itself looks decent from the outside, but the room we had was in poor shape at best. Shower head sprayed every direction but straight, bathroom door lock was broken, pictures were missing from the wall and the beds were a 2 out of 10. You are way better off in an air bnb. read more

Went here over winter break with the family. It was a blizzard day and our first time so we couldn't really figure out where to go. We walked into the ski rental shop and luckily an employee was able to help us. I wish the ticket booth area was a little more out of the elements because we were freezing and trying to listen to the lady and pay for our sledding tickets. I didn't realize you have to wait for your turn to sled and it is in hour and a half increments. Not sure if that's posted anywhere and we just missed it or what. We walked into the lodge to wait for awhile for our sled time and it was packed! There was no seating and it was a 40 minute wait. It looks like the property is pretty large, I don't know why they don't expand and add more food options or a food court. The servers/employees seemed overwhelmed not sure if that's how it normally is. Wasn't able to get a table and our sled time was for the reservation time so we cancelled it. read more

This place has so much potential, but boy they are missing the mark. Tried to check in at about 4:45 which is 45 minutes after check in and most of our group couldn't check in, said the rooms were not ready. We later found out it was because their dryers were broken so they couldn't clean sheets and towels. Just tell people that and they will most likely be empathetic. Went to get ice the first night and the room labeled ice and vending only had vending. Went to the next floor and same thing. Asked a maid and she said all their ice machines were broken, but I could get ice at the front desk. Why not tell people at check-in this simple fact. Went several times to the front desk to find it empty for long periods of time. Second night the hood in the main kitchen started blowing smoke at the cooks, so they had to shut down. The jacuzzi was green and gross! Seems they are falling apart at the seams. On the positive side, the rooms are in good shape and clean and the location is perfect! read more

My wife and I celebrated our belated honeymoon in 2014, and we returned again in 2018 to the same location. There is something about this hotel that is really special to me. I love the outdoor fireplace on the patio, I really love the indoor swimming pool. This hotel is just quaint and beautiful. We've stayed here a few times now after visiting Brian Head a lot this past (wonderful) ski season. The staff is always pleasant and sometimes accompanied by the cutest darn dogs! Why 4 stars? Well, it is a reasonably comfortable hotel. I would consider it clean, but not pristine, so adjust your expectations. Things do feel a little dated as well and the restaurant can be a bit slow. When we come up here, we really just want a place close to the slopes and this satisfies that. It's not the nicest hotel we've stayed in by a long shot, but for a quick weekend getaway from Vegas, it gets the job done. (Definitely avoid it on holidays, though, the rates are absolutely outrageous.) read more

Starting off with no early check in, we get a message on our way up that the pool is down which means less things to do with our kids while we're here in between snow time. Also the customer service has been less than mediocre with attitude from a front desk attendant that had a foreign accent. We go to the bar/grill in the hotel they let us know you have to order at least one food item not just drinks.. then we go to order drinks and of course it just so happens that the drink we were going to order was out and the second drink I asked for was also out.. we just got here... hoping it gets better and the pool gets fixed before we leave in a few days. Location and facility was great. The tax, recovery charges and service fees are a joke. Literally paid $111.89 on a $229 one night stay for a total of $350. So a little back-story if you want context. Scroll down if you just want specifics... My family was first introduced to this property in 2018 when it was managed by Best Western. We were immediately impressed with the property itself: Great location and nice amenities, including pool, jacuzzi, onsite restaurant, bar and an outside deck with fire pits. As for the rooms, they are fairly large with a few different suite options. All are nicely decorated with better quality furnishings, framed wall photos throughout, painted plaster walls, wood beam ceilings and trim, solid wood doors, quality fixtures, flat screen tvs, and fireplaces in some rooms. Back then, we were WELCOMED by 2-3 very friendly, helpful front desk staff and found the housekeeping and restaurant staff were also very in tune with the "hospitality" vibe you'd expect at a resort property. It was great. But that was then. Now, the property is still nice, but the aforementioned Hospitality - and general level of service - is clearly no longer part of the Brian Head Lodge experience. Specifics: As mentioned in a recent comment, the current staff seem pretty close to miserable. Not welcoming, not very helpful, and not always friendly. A couple of examples: Another arriving guest: "My wife and I stay here every year and she likes to bake cookies for the front desk team, so these are for you!" Front desk person: "I'm diabetic. I can't eat those" Read it again. That was verbatim. Me: "Did you know that when people call your main number they sometimes get a recording that says 'no humans here. Try texting me'. But it's a land line - you can't text it!?" Front desk: I've heard that... it's out of my control. Me: "Can I please have the hotel manager's contact information?" Front desk: "I don't have anything to write it on. Just send an email to info@brianheadlodge.com. " - Wrong email, btw. And then our room... Only two towels (reservation was for four) No toilet paper besides half a roll on the dispenser No Bar/face soap Dirty dishes with dirty silverware shoved in the cupboard. No dish soap No sponge I had to ask twice for dish soap and was only told after my second request that they had an inventory problem (also mentioned in previous comment a few months ago). I was finally provided a plastic cup with less than an inch of dish soap. In all my interactions I NEVER heard an apology or even an acknowledgement of an inconvenience to me - a paying guest. So, unless you see some recent reviews that imply a positive change, I would tell you to look at Airbnb properties if you need a place to stay. IMO, the management at Brian Head Lodge has no business running a hotel and I sincerely hope ownership gets that message before they have no business themselves. read more

Overall 3.5 stars. Overall you get you pay for. The location was fantastic for going to the resort. The beds were very uncomfortable and made it difficult to sleep. The sounds travel alot in the hotel, you could hear almost anything which also made it difficult to sleep. There seemed to be a disconnect between the workers(front staff and cleaners) when we asked front desk for a cleaning they said they would let the cleaners know which our room was not added. The good was that the rooms were cheap, pretty spacious, and good amenities (though the hot tub was broken and breakfast was cancelled after we booked with no alternatives) The food diner was great! Affordable for the amount of food and pretty much one of the only food options on the mountain. We ate there twice, prime rib was huge! Prime rib was special for valentines day. This is the place that my husband and daughter brought my son and I to as a surprise getaway. I fell in love with the outdoor patio, the copper/iron moose and the rest was history. We started coming up here twice a month and stayed the weekends and long weekends at that. I NEVER wanted to leave, but the expense as with any hotel it mounts up the more you come. HA! Six-years ago we started our adventure at this lodge and there were more places to eat out because no one really wants to eat at the hotel-the food at best is All American and the service staff is hit or miss; college students trying to earn extra money and it shows-- some are nice and others never come back to check on you so you become your own wait staff, but you do it more for being there than the service. Watch out for the "happy hour buffets", gratuity is included and it was eye opening for 4 people-- make sure your kids are hungry! This is the same area that has a pool table and if you hit it right you will get a turn but they should have 2 tables so guests don't have to walk away and never get a chance to not play or there is a time limit; just an observation. DO NOT eat at the downstairs restaurant just behind the main check-in desk-- pathetic at best and the food quality then and now is something to be reckon with, but wait staff seems more accommodating here than upstairs with the pool table-- not sure why. The rest of the amenities are sad- video game room where coins go in and you don't get to play (machine eats the coins) but the pool and outdoor hot tubs are nice just eye opening with the high amounts of chlorine they use; you smell like it after awhile-- lots of soap in the shower! Again, the area outside the hotel is nice just don't go during winter as hotel staff doesn't do a great job in ice melt but thankfully we brought our own learning the hard way. Again, the eateries around Brian Head resort are decent and back 6-years ago there were more than there are now but keep in mind, this is a tight knit area and the population year-round is small. It's expensive to truck food, gas, propane, supplies, etc., up so a lot of businesses that find there nitch will stay for years. New businesses think that they too can survive here because others have for a long time ie Mexican restaurant, build up, close down after realizing the main thing people want is grab and go ie the pizza place has a good vibe (good, filling and able to share especially the XL pizzas and their calzones-- oh my!). The coffee house is decent but expensive. The convenient store has changed hands many times. If you want groceries be prepared for a hike and not on foot but in a car all the way down the mountain to the mom and pop grocery located in Parowan. The store is not huge and parking is pretty good given the area it sits in. You can feel rest assured that you're not going to get mugged or your car damaged given how close the lines are for spaces but cops are always patrolling. You can get groceries, cleaning supplies, candies for your kids. If you want a bigger grocery you have to head into Cedar City as there is a Walmart there. The best thing to do and this is solely what we found is, if you are staying say for a week, bring supplies and stop by the Parowan grocery store, get a few things essentials and/or some perishables and head up the mountain because I don't know if you have been told, but buying essentials on the mountain are more expensive and always will be based on what I mentioned above. Don't forget to venture out down St Rt 143 toward Panguitch and stop by the old fashioned general store with a vintage gas pump-- they offer free water for those who need to fill a tank or two as they are hooked up to a well; just be prepared stay a bit depending on the size of your tank. Burger Barn had family loving owners but since the new owners took over its be challenging and more costly. If you eat here, eat under the white tents as outside flies are many, but during summer months it gets quite loud. Go early if you want a parking spot as it's very HARD at times to get one and since there are no white lines to park in-between cars, trucks and motorcycles alike park like they all need lessons. Definitely go for the changing of the leaves in the Fall, its one of the most scenic drives on 143 is absolutely worth any time you can devote - beautiful lakes, trees turning color and Cedar Breaks is exquisite. LOVE!! All in all, start your journey at the Brian Head Resort Lodge and stay a few days and see if you don't fall in love as my family did hence we now own a cabin so we can come and go as we please and be one with nature. All in all, do it for the adventure and clean air-- oh, don't forget to also go to the new visitors center and drive down through Dixie National Park-- get your cameras ready for the most breathtaking view of all time- Cedar Breaks monument. This is a solid 3-star establishment. This review is only for the summer season experience. To start with the positives: Rooms are a good size, the waterfall pool is cute, there's a small gym available, and there's a restaurant and spa in the building. Mini fridge and microwave worked just fine. Now the hard feedback: The beds are so uncomfortably firm we used our camping air mattress on the beds. The AC unit in the room is ridiculously LOUD. There was no tissue or coffee satchels in the room - housekeeping said they were short on inventory. The coffee machine had not been cleaned - there were two used semi moist satchels still in the machine. The restaurant was very short staffed. The food wasn't much to write home about. The game room was a wreck - patrons didn't clean up after themselves. Most of the staff I encountered looked miserable and seemed like they were very overwhelmed. Is this normal for the season? On a separate note - the building was getting its roof redone - the workers started work at 730am on a Saturday. Why on a SATURDAY!!! I was on vacation and was hoping to sleep till 8am bt that plan was ruined by nail guns and other construction noises. Why did the hotel agree to this?! Because the roofers were working around the satellites, it was causing disturbances for anyone watching Tv during the day. Super annoying.
