    Biscuits and Homemade Country Gravy*
    Amanda J.

Down to earth classic diner establishment. Warm and friendly servers, all the diner type food you could want for a very reasonable price. I got the turkey melt and it came with a huge pile of fries, my hubs got biscuits and gravy with coffee. This place is super busy on the weekends but moves pretty quick, we only waited about 15 minutes.

Very simple but pleasant blueberry "Blueberry or Strawberry Pancakes" notice the real butter! Yay

Went here randomly with my partner and we got a slice of peach pie, country fried steak dinner plate, and a breakfast biscuits and gravy plate and one blueberry pancake on the side. The breakfast has browns were chunks of real potato slices cooked nicely and tasted fresh and wonderful. The egg was undercooked but I ate around the soft part and didn't ask for it to be fixed or anything. The biscuits were so light and fluffy and hot and wonderful. My grandma gave me a love for wonderful biscuits and these were very nice. They're the square kind if that matters. To me all that matters is they're fresh, tender and delicious. The sausage patty was nicely flavored and I enjoyed my breakfast plate a lot. The blueberry pancake was a little overcooked and chewy but still nice and came with real butter and two types of syrup, regular and blueberry. I was happy with it despite its texture. The steak plate was really nice. The fries my partner ordered were from a whole potato and clearly a homemade style of fries that are very hard to find these days. They're my favorite kind ever though and these were stunning after some salt. The country fried steak was also obviously hand battered and tasted great. The peach pie was nice and homemade. It didn't taste of wholly fresh peaches but wasn't canned either, which I don't care for. I loved it and would order it again but next time I'll see if they have chocolate! I saw a club sandwich that looked like the classic version and can't wait to come back and try it. Or their burgers! Come stop by! The food is so wonderful. Service was busy but helpful and fine. The waitress has been there for ages and is so kind to her regulars and welcomed us strangers in too. Lots of booths to sit at and lots of options on the menu. 10/10 highly recommend for a diner. And they're open til 8pm Mon-Saturday and open Sunday but closed earlier. Can't wait to return even though they're not in my neighborhood. Worth the drive up for a wonderful diner experience with truly homemade food made with love and care.

Stopped in for the first time for breakfast this morning between biz meetings. This place is the bomb! Great local family cafe atmosphere. My Denver Omelette w/ a side of green chili was fresh, hot and tasty! The service from Vickie was amazing and I will definitely be back! So much to choose from on the menu.

I've driven by this place for sometime now, always amazed at the full parking lot. I know why now. Apple Ridge Cafe serves up some really great meals., with friendly service and hometown smiles. We were seated immediately at one of the booths. I mentioned to the server that we were new to the area and I quickly learned that Apple Ridge Cafe has been open for 40+ years, that the owner comes in early every morning to cut the steaks and prep for the day. She explained the specials and a few of the things they were known for. The Cinamon bun was a bit doughy for my taste, however, the hot icing was delicious - it was clear why that item is a standout. Breakfast of eggs cooked to order, and country sausage hit the spot. Hash browned potatoes were crispy, and a large portion. Sourdough, among other choices, toast. Yumm! Server told me that so far Apple Ridge has not raised prices, even with higher egg costs. This was a perfect breakfast. Great comfort food, exceptional service, comfortable seating -- just an exceptional diner. I'm going back for lunch.

This is really a great local restaurant I can't say enough about the good service and the variety of food and especially their early hours today I had the killariano enchilada beef enchilada plate and I must say that the Rihanna is definitely homemade marvelous crispy and filled with gobs of cheese next time I will order two of them but it on the enchilada I had the beef enchilada and yeah not so hot. Connie was my waitress today and as usual very very friendly and professional and efficient

I was in the area and wanted something to eat. Found this little cafe and it was packed! It's a very old quaint diner. I notice it does cater to the older crowd. Service was great. Quick and simple. It's a small dining room so it was nice to get my cup filled up as needed without asking. Definitely appreciate the staff. The busser was so nice flipping tables and making sure the seats were clean and wiped down. Food was good. It was a simple cafe breakfast that I can't rave about too much. However, the cinnamon roll was very good. Probably the second best I have had in Colorado. It beats that Johnstown roll that people talk about. Bacon was cooked but not over cooked. Just the right bite. The serving size it huge! Be ready for a carb load after you finish your proteins. Overall, if I'm in the area I'd come back for the cinnamon roll. It was super good and filling:

We just had our first visit to Apple Ridge Cafe on a Tuesday morning and were impressed by the food, service and the atmosphere. This truly feels like a neighborhood cafe where everyone is friendly and many customers must return frequently. The coffee was very good - not flat diner coffee. Service was quick and coffee refills kept coming even though they were very busy. I had a Matzatlan Burrito and it was loaded with fresh avocado and green chile sauce. This was a very enjoyable breakfast and we would definitely come again.

Fully remodeled Long- time diner in Wheat Ridge
    Bennett P.

I drive by this long time diner (42 years per owner Roy Jones) every morning during the week in Wheat Ridge. I noticed that they had closed for a remodel in mid February. After 5 weeks, they reopened this week with a new look. The outside and inside brick walls switched from tan to grey. I saw new brighter lights throughout. New floors, new booths, and my server said the kitchen was completely gutted and replaced with all new equipment. Their menu however stayed the same with some increased prices. My server, Vicky said the owner Roy Jones paid everyone a few hundred dollars a week to keep his staff during the remodel. Vicky greeted long-time customers who came in and remembered their favorites. I got a large OJ with the Mazatlan Burrito. The breakfast burrito was stuffed with bacon, avocado and scrambled eggs, then covered with cheese and green chili. It was served with a large portion of hot hash browns. They accept debit/credit cards and provide a discount for each time if you pay cash.

The hostess told me where the group was seated and I headed to their location. There is lots of conversation noise, but not so much that you could not hold a conversation. We ordered beverages and got into the discussion of our book. I got a cup of coffee. Their drip coffee is tasty. Our server re-supplied the cream for me and made sure there was enough sweetener. Once we had our beverages, he took our order. I chose the chile relleno breakfast plate. It comes with two eggs, which I had basted, potatoes and two crispy chile rellenos smothered in green chili. I asked for half and half as my heat level and it was perfect. My coffee cup was kept filled as well as my water. My breakfast was quite tasty. The discussion was fun. Overall great experience.

Chicken Sausage: A standout lean protein choice--savory, flavorful, and a great lighter alternative to traditional pork sausage. Pair them with their signature green chile or a side of fruit for a solid, classic breakfast.

-Celiac- Gluten-free review-…read more Early Bird!! You did that. From the moment we walked in to the time we left, everything was A1 son. The vibe is cozy and local, and every interaction we had with staff was friendly and warm. The drip coffee was sooooooo good. I could have put an entire carafe away on flavor alone. The cocktail menu had some unique drinks on it, didn't partake during this visit but definitely would try them on a future visit. The owner's daughter has celiac disease, so they take great precautions with cross-contact and most of the menu can be made gluten free. No pancakes or biscuits, but the fryer is dedicated and they have a dedicated waffle maker. I got the chicken fried chicken and my wife got the chicken and waffles. Yall. YALL. YALLLLLLLLLLL!!! Where tf do I even begin. Chicken was perfectly crispy and tender tender. I could bathe in that white gravy and die happy. Potatoes cooked perfectly. Gf bread toasted perfectly. Arugula fresh. Shishito pepper perfectly charred. Idk what yall use for hot sauce, but that joint was GOOD. And I know this is a small footnote, but this plate also came with tomato. When eating out and there's a veggie 'garnish' it's typically served some nothing-burger, tasteless, it's just there for a pop of color tomato. But even the tomato on this plate was so subtly good. And that tells me a lottttt about the kitchen here. When you care about every detail, it shows, and this plate was a home run for me. One of the best breakfasts I've had out to eat hands down. I cleaned that plate. My wife's chicken and waffles were incredibly good. The waffles were thick, but crispy and soft in all the right spots, and the flavor was so good that they could stand completely by themselves- no butter, no syrup, no nothiiiing. Hers came with a small trough of that sweet ass white gravy that basically rendered her side of syrup useless. We have syrup at home! Her chicken was perfectly cooked as well. We didn't want for water or coffee refills at all. I believe our server's name was Ashley and she was on it. She very confidently answered all my questions about safety and handling for the gluten-free options we both had. Yall are killing it here in Midtown, Early Bird.
